SAP Query: ABAP List Only

hello friends,
how do i hide the "Output format" box from the UI of my SAP query?
i would just want a query that would automatically have an ABAP List output without users having to choose other layouts (meaning the "Output format" is not seen on their end)?

thanks for the input. i tried doing that and it brings me directly to the query results.
however, i would want my users to see the selection screen, but not the Output Format window (where you can select a variety of layouts).
any idea on this requirement?

It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
    SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
    All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.
    To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options which determine the report layout. Then you can edit list display in WYSIWYG mode whenever you want using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available.
    ABAP Query, as far as I Believe, is the use of select statements in the ABAP Programming. This needs a knowledge of Open SQL commands like Select,UPdtae, Modify etc. This has to be done only by someone who has a little bit of ABAP experience.
    To sum up, SAP queries are readymade programs given by SAP, which the user can use making slight modification like the slection texts, the tables from which the data is to be retrieved and the format in which the data is to be displayed.ABAP queries become imperative when there is no such SAP query existing and also when there is a lot of customizing involved to use a SAP Query directly.

  • SAP Query:Error 'List is wider than 255 characters '

    Hi all,
    i m new in SAP Query.
    one query is already done.
    one change is come out.
    requirement is - Add one extra column
    when i m going to add one extra coulumn and test it then message is come out.............
    List is wider than 255 characters (generation not possible)
    Message no. AQ255
    Diagnosis
    You attempted to define a query where the line width of the generated list is greater than 255 characters.
    You define the line width on the Title, Format screen which permits a maximum width of 255 characters. However, when defining statistics and ranked lists, you can implicitly increase this value, since the lines cannot be broken up. This is the case here. An implicit increase in the width of the list would result in a list wider than 255 characters. For this reason, the query cannot be executed.
    Procedure
    Check which of the statistics or ranked lists is responsible and modify it so that the resulting list width is no greater than 255 characters.
    plz help me and suggest me as soon as possible

    There is limitation of 255 characters  .. can we extend that   .
    When we check  by editing program in sq01  it show only 255 character limitation  .

    Folks,
    I have created a query which gives me a list with all open deliveries based on a certain route and postal code. We have multiple deliveries for the same ship-to so the list may show duplicate postal codes. I would like to have a list with only unique postal codes. How can this be achieved in SAP query?

    hi,
    you can include the logic for unique postal code in Sq02 transaction.
    goto sq02 transaction ,give your infoset name ,change,click on extras button in app tool bar .
    there you have a button called code where you can incorporate your logic.

  • How to build query which list only active PC's

    Hi guys,
    I have to install SCCM client on many devices in my enviroment. Unfortunately, SCCM has found amny devices which still have accounts in AD but are not used for looong time. I would like to list only devices, which hasen't installed SCCM client yet but are
    active in my enviroment. 
    That is possible? If yes, that will be glad to hear how build this query.

    If you don't want those not used devices, why don't you stop discovering them. In the
    Active Directory System Discovery there is a tab Options
    in which you can configure to not discover computers account that have not been used.

    Hi,
    I have created a query which reads a material Table and has consumption by date. What I want the report to do is show me a total number of PO's by month. i.e. below
    Any idea how can I go about this? I can understand ABAP but don't know how to put it in buckets via a query i know i have to create 12 fields called Jan, Feb, March, April etc but need the code to put date in the tables by month
    E.g.
    Material                          January    Feb   March   April       etc
    MAT1                                 23         22      21       11
    MAT2                                 35         67      89       33         etc

  • SAP Query - Reporting on Simulation infotype 2501

    We defined reporting time types for the SAP delivered infotype 2501 to report from the ZL cluster.  However, when we report the data using SAP Query, for a few records, the following is observed:
    (1) Basic list output in Query report splits the record as only 50% (half) of the time is output when compared to the data in the cluster.
    (2) If you also use the same field in a Statistics output, it seems to report the full amount of time as recorded in the cluster.
    The discrepancy is noticed only in a very few records reported by SAP Query. We need to be absolutely sure as to why some records are not reported accurately by SAP query basic list output for the simulated infotype.

    Hi Pascal,
    Since the IT2501 is a "Simulated Time Infotype" you cannot look at the data in it, but you can confirm the data from the ZL cluster and the data from the employee.  Since it is only this employee or a few employees, it is probably not the configuration of the time buckets for the IT2501, but you may want to make sure all time times are captured as you want.  Then look at the time entries for this individual or individuals.  Did they enter a time type that was not expected or configured?  Is all their time approved and passed through Time Evaluation?  Finally check the Master Data for the employee - is the Planned Working Time (IT0007) infotype correct or has it been recently changed?  Is he in a special Cost Center (IT0027) or Project that is captured differently for time purposes? 
    Since it just one or a few individuals, I would suspect the Master Data and some inconsistant entry that affects the time cummulation for the IT2501.

    Hi Friends,
      Can I delete records from an SAP query basic list before it is displayed?
    For example I want to delte all the orders whose system status is "RELEASED" before the basic list of that SAP query is displayed.
    I have gone through SAP help and found out that we can write some code in <b>END code</b> section which will execute before the basic list of the query is displayed. But I could not figure out how the code this...following is an excerpt form SAP help.
    <b>"The END-OF-SELECTION code consists of two parts (Before list output and After list output). The first part is processed before the list is output and the second part afterwards."</b>
    Can anybody help me?

    Try this simple procedure. <b>Hope</b> this should work for you.
    You do the slection of the status in the List-Processing. say your final field of status flag is GF_STATUS.
    Immediatly after that use this within the List-Processing.
    CHECK GF_STATUS EQ '<RELEASED STATUS>'
    How it works:
    SELECT  <>       "<-------Query processing(system code).
    *< Your code put in the List processing
    CHECK GF_STATUS EQ '<RELEASED STATUS>'   "< --only released records passed.
    *>
    ENDSELECT      "<-----Query endselect(system code).

  • Output Technical Field Names in the SAP query Output

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to SAP Query/ABAP Query or Quick Viewer. Just would like to know if there is a way whereby I can print the technical field names as opposed to the English field headers. For example I want to print BUKRS in the place of CoCode.
    I have a vague feeling this could be possible through custom coding in SQ02 but have no idea which code section to choose.Any inputs greatly appreciated.

    Hi Sreegopalan,
    Open your infoset in SQ02, by default in the left hand side you'll be having the tables that you have selected, double click the field name which you want change the long text, it will open a attributes window below your field group. Change the header data text as you wish.

  • SAP Query format issue (with ABAP list)

    Hi All,
    I had a requirement to remove all unecessary formatting and text from a SAP query report which can be read by a third party software system. We need only Header line and  report data (spaced by Tab).
    I have removed all formatting from the report and changed the output format from "SAP list viewer" to "ABAP list" .
    The issue is that the report shows material number with 12 digits in output but when we download to file then it adds extra six "0" and makes the Material Number field as 18 digit.
    we have already maintained new length as 12 againts the standard length 18 for material number(under field output option)
    Please suggest how to get rid of extra digits generated during downloading.

    Hi Brad,
    Currently we execute query with SQ01 and from the output screen the user direclty saves the file as "local file..."
    The output format is "abap list". We are able to get the exact format but the only problem is with material number. I cant make changes in the program. Is there a way to download it without changing the 12 character ( as displayed on the report output)

  • Abap coding in SAP query (SQ01)

    Hi,
    By using the a table like for MSEG if i want to retrieve data for the movement type 101 (receipts from vendor), i can build a query using this table and retrieve data - my problem starts when the system shows individual line items instead of cumulated result as mentioned in the following example.
    Example :-
    for the date 01.07.2007 - i have 10 entries (101 movement) of quantity 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 against a vendor V1. - the query lists all the 10 entries.
    But what is required is the cumulated entry against the vendor like shown below
    vendor    receipt
    V1         55.
    What abap coding should be written (provide the sample code) and the where should it be written in the query transaction SQ01

    Hi Magesh,
    If you do not wish to see the detail lines, then you do not need to create them.  Just create the Statistics portion only.
    If you wish to see 'summarized Vendor quantity by day', then you might sort on Vendor first, then posting date second.  Or, vice versa, depending on your business requirement.  I would think that you might also wish to include Material in the sort, since each Material is probably valued differently.

    Hi Experts,
    I have question regarding ABAP Reports, SAP Query, and Transaction with variant.  How are we securing one the above reports that we assign them through pfcg.  We can secure custom program by custom transaction or define the auth group in S_PROGRAM auth object but in this case we have to assign SA38 in production. is that correct?
    Please help me understand difference between the ABAP reports and SAP query. Is the ABAP reports same as Program or they are different.

    Hi,
    1) End user security (role matrix coordinate with process team)
    This role Matrix design is most important where we can put restrictions and use SoD.
    2) Secure Table (by auth group)
    Table TDDAT and use of transaction se54 for security tables to right auth Groups. Secure s_tabu_dis, s_tabu_cli.
    3) Secure program (as you said ABAP reports are referred to Program)
    Use of table TPGP and program RSCSAUTH for assignment of groups to Program. SA38 Running of SA38 requires a minimum SUBMIT in user Action. A user having SA38 is dangerous as he/she is now enabled to run any report. Hence protection in Auth Group is needed. Verify each and every program is having authority check statement and Auth Group or not before assigning sa38. As you mentioned its best to avoid SA38 and create CUSTOM TXN for each report.
    (We should also SECURE S_DEVELOP in Production properly along with ur points. Please Note).
    4) Secure some batch jobs roles for batch job
    Secure by s_btch* objects and less access to se36.
    5) Create support roles for cutover activity during Go-live
    That is always needed. Go ahead.
    6) Emergency roles & IT roles for support
    This is very much needed as a role of Mitigation and Fire Fighting for Temporary access. Ensure to enable ur audit parameters in RZ10 (rsau* sm20,RSLG* for sm21). Give emergency access but enable audit via sm19 and get audit reports from sm20 and sm21 immediately after the use of emergency access.
    There are also other auth objects we need to be care ful which is a long list and hope every body ensures that (s_cts,a_admi,s_trans, tables ssm_cust, prgn,t000) etc and a host of others. Besh wishes. Let us know if any issue.

    HI Team,
    Can we create multiple list lines in an SAP Query? If yes, how (pls explain the steps)?
    Example of what I am looking for:  can we have a line for the employee, next for spouse & then the next for child, so on...and then the next employee details.
    Also, there might be fields which will repeat in most of these lines for each employee.
    Ex: EE1 Pernr, PA, PSA, SAL, etc
          Dependant SSN, PA, Address, PSA, etc
          Dependant 2 SSN, PA, PSA, ettc
          EE 2 Pernr, PA, PSA, SAL, etc

    Just using SAP Query I don't think it is possible.
    SAP Query puts each and every DB record on a separate line.
    You need ABAP programming for this.
