SAP tables with &NC& Auth Group.

In SAP there are about 7000 plus tables with &NC& Auth Group.
Are all these tables not financial relevant.
What is the impact if we change these tables auth group to custom auth groups?

On their own they might not be finance relevant, but might even be system relevent for that matter.
&NC& means "Not Classified" hich should be understood as "no intention to display and or change them from the application layer" as their single fields on their own are not usefull or inconsistent.
The bugger is that if developers don't understand this and security folks don't respect it, then because of one single table you might open access to all other unclassified tables (depending on how they are designed in the Data Dictionary and how they are accessed).
I have seldom seen a SAP system which got this right, primarily because of the developers (also the ones from SAP).
Yes, you can change the groups is SE54. But report it to SAP and keep track of which SP level introduces the new check value. Try to obtain that information from them in advance if you need to, and check that it is conceptually consistent with your concept (minimum requirement is that it should not be conceptually inconsistent with other SAP standard concepts).
If this is a topic for you and delivery classes also play a role, then also search OSS for the term "Current Settings". These give you more options - for specific objects.

Viewing custom Z tables with blank authorization group

I'm trying to view all the Z tables without any authorization group (blank) in TDDAT. It only displays Z tables with &NC& or other valid groups we assign. Is there another table I can query to show ALL Z tables without an auth group?

Oops, sorry. Martin had already mentioned this.
&NC& is not a valid group, it is a symbolic group which is the equivalent of a blank for the table - except that a view had been created for it and during that process no authorization group was set either. This also used to be the default, which doesn't really make sense... hence all the values.
If you take a look at FM VIEW_AUTHORITY_CHECK then you will see how it works and which tables are used.

To upload a data into SAP Table with the help of RFC function in BODS

Hi,
Please provide me step-by-step solution to upload data into any SAP table with the help of RFC function in Data Services.
I have created RFC function that upload data into SAP table. RFC Function contains one table that has same structure as my database table.
In the data services how can i filled the table of RFC function, i am using this function in query transform of data services but it gives me error.

Hi Abhishek,
Did you import the function module in the SAP datastore first? When you open the SAP datastore, the function should be listed in the 'functions' section. If not, import it. Make sure your function is remote executable.
Once the function is there, you can use it in a transformation. In 'Schema Out' right-click on 'Query' (top level) and choose 'New Function Call'. You can then select a datastore and a function in the datastore. The wizard will show you which output parameters are available. I believe you have to add at least one and can select as many as you like.
After confirming your selection the function and the output parameters appear in Schema Out. You can then right-click on the function and choose 'Modify function call'. A popup will appear where you can specify the input parameters.

Fixed length outer table with nested repeating group inner table.

I had to re-create a PDF using tables in an RTF template. It has a fixed 1 page width. However, one of the rows in the template has a nested table with a repeating group. I set the width of the outer table row width to 2". However when I have repeating groups it makes the outer row grow wider than the 2" inches. The option to un-select "automatically resize to fit contents" is grayed out.
Is there a way to keep the outer table width fixed with an inner repeating group?

here I give Clint,User and Password and try to connect then following msg will display

Step 1:After Clicking SAP BW Query, you need to goto SAP tab from the context menu and click on
Step 2: Create New Report from a Query
Step 3: Click on OLAP tab, Here you can select your Cube and select SAP Business Information Warehouse
Step 4: Go back to SAP tab and click on Start BW Query Designer(this allows selection of the cube from the Query designer Interface)

Single row table with for-each group loop to set variable.

Hi: There is probably a simple answer for this but I have not found it ...
I have a single row table to loop through a group to set a variable holding a running amount. I am not displaying the amount within the table however when I preview the report I see that the table is expanding (adding rows) for each loop.
The single row table has 3 columns.
1st column
<?for-each:AC_GROUP?>
2nd column
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'xAmtVar',xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'xAmtVar')+CURRENT_AMOUNT)?>
3rd column
<?end for-each?>
Should I be using <?for each-group?> or something else. My requirement is to set the value of the variable with the running total but because the loop is adding rows for each value it loops through (even though not displayed), it is moving other areas of the layout off the page.

you can do it many ways.
No need to loop
You can create a variable and put the sum amount directly in that.

loop thru and add like you do.

Loading records from .csv file to SAP table via SAP Program

Hi,
I have a .csv file with 132,869 records and I am trying to load it to an SAP table with a customized SAP program.
After executing the program, only 99,999 records are being loaded into the table.
Is there some setting to define how many records can be loaded into a table? Or what else could be the problem?

A datasource need a extract structure to fetch data .It is nothing but a temp table to hold data.
First you need to create atable in SE11 with fields coming from CSV file.
Then you need to write a report program to read you CSV file and populate your table in BW .
Then you can create a datasource on top of this table .
After that replicate and load data at PSA and use to upper flow.

How to update Records of SAP table from .CSV file

I have written a code which takes a data from (,) delimited CSV file and adds it into the Internal table.
Now I want to update the all fields in SAP table with the Internal table.
I want to use Update statement.
Update <table Name> SET <field needs to update> WHERE connditon.
I don't want to iterate through thousand on record in sap table to check the where condition.

You can pre-load all the records into another internal table
check lt_csv[] is not initial. " important, otherwise next select would read all records of the table

then do in-memory update of the it_dbitab
loop at it_dbitab assign <fs>.
read table lt_csv assign <fs_csv> with key ... " lt_csv should be sorted table with key, or you should try to use binary search
if sy-subrc eq 0.
...change required lt_dbitab fields: <fs>-comp = <fs_csv>-comp...
endif.
endloop.
ant then you can do mass-update
update dbtab from table lt_dbitab.
From performance view, this solution should be much faster than iterating lt_csv directly and updating every single database record

Changing auth group of a SAP standard Table

I was wondering if someone could advise what the implications are if I changed the auth group of a SAP standard table (PA0033).
Does it affect programs behind the scenes, support packs, upgrades?

I am not aware of any reason why an authorization group on a SAP standard table should not be changed.
I have also seen this done for specific infotypes without any problems.
See the documentation on transaction SUCU and SE54, and SAP notes and some of the discussions here on them.

Varient table update with changes in sap table

Hi,
is there any way with which i can update a varient table with the new values in sap standar table.
example can be, i created varient table T_TEST, its having 2 characterstic MAT_1 and MG_1,
MAT_1 is key field and is is having material number from mara , MG_1 is material group.
so can i update my varient table automaticaly each and every time a new material is created ?

Program to assign auth group to the tables?

Hi everyone,
Does anyone of you know if there is a program that I can use to assign the auth group to the SAP std table(in case if I need to) and customized tables. I know I can goto Se54 and assign an auth group there but was hyst wondering if there is a program like RSCSAUTH which we can use for assigning the auth group to the programs.

Hello Raj,
You donot assign auth. group to tables but rather to the Maintenance Generator.
I think SAP will not provide any std. program for this.
Maybe other SDNers have some better ideas to share.

View with SAP tables fails with "No Owner" error

We have created a view (VIEW_MARA_MAKT) on Information Steward (4.2 SP1) using SAP tables MARA and MAKT. This view is working perfectly. Next we create another view to join with our previous view (VIEW_MARA_MAKT) to table MARC. The view validates correctly, but when trying to view the data we get the following error:

It appears that DS is not satisfied that there is no owner name sent from IS, but for SAP connections it is not possible to specify owner names when adding the tables to IS.
Please can you give some recommendations to resolve this error.

What you can do is to use a table of record.
And create a block based on stored procedure.
Below is a table of record and procedure for querying from multi-tables.
If you want to update, insert, delete rows, you need to create 3 more procedures on the package. One for updating, another for inserting, and so on.
I never done updaing part before. So I need to spend time for coding.
