Sapscript if statement

hi,
may i know why the if statement doesn't work in sapscript?
IF &BSID-BUDAT& GE &RF140-DATU1&
xxxx
ELSE
yyyy
ENDIF
(where &BSID-BUDAT& = 07.01.2008 and &RF140-DATU1& = 01.03.2008)
actually march is greater than january but it still able to perform xxxx.
it should perform yyyy and not xxxx.
can have the advice?

you have to do this in order to resove the problem.
create a variable say z_status in your program not in script.
then in program write this.
data: z_staus type C.
if bsid-budat GE rf140-datu1.
clear z_status.
z_status = 'Y'.
else.
clear z_status.
endif.
now in sapscript.
IF z_staus eq 'Y'.
xxxx
ELSE
yyyy
ENDIF
reward if useful.

    But i can't write it on one line. Even with SHIFT-F8 to go to the right the line lenght is too short.
    How can i solve this one ?

    Hi,
    This is not a solution, more a workaround but should avoid the line length problem.
    Define a flag in your form (/: DEFINE &IF_FLAG&), then you can call an ABAP subroutine to set the value of this flag (take a look at the online help for SAPscript PERFORM if you're not familiar with it).  The subroutine will contain your long IF statement and the SAPscript will just contain
    /: IF &IF_FLAG& = 'X'.

    This text displays correctly when the work item is viewed in SBWP (that is, the conditionals are evaluated and only the appropriate portions of the text are displayed). However, in some instances, when the work item is displayed in the Universal Work List, none of the conditional statements are evaluated and all portions of the text are displayed.
    Has anyone else come across this problem? I have searched the notes system and the SDN forums extensively and found nothing.

                      yes , I have also experienced issue.
    I have used HTML and I am getting desired results in SBWP .
    But UWL doesn't understands that .
                                                       I am yet to find solution for the same.

    quite simply, i wish to have a description before the

    gets displayed, but on the same line !

    Use a subroutine program to get the Include text value. With this you can get your requirement.

  • Use of subroutine in SapScript

    Hi Friends,
                  I am passing two parameters as input from sapscript perform statement and i want one field from database table as output.
                  In abap editor i have created two internal tables of the type ITCSY for input and output parameters. <b>The name field of the internal table i have created is getting populated but the corresponding value field is not getting populated,</b> so my further logic is not processed and i am not gettin the desired result i.e. it it displaying nothing.

    Check the following to get clear idea abt functions,
    OPEN_FORM
    The function module OPEN_FORM opens form printing. You must call this function module before you can use any other form function (WRITE_FORM, START_FORM, CONTROL_FORM...).
    You need not specify a form name. If you omit the name, you must use the function module START_FORM to open a form before starting the output.
    You must end form printing by using the function module CLOSE_FORM. Otherwise, the system does not print or display anything.
    Within a program, you can use several OPEN_FORM.. CLOSE_FORM pairs. This allows you to write output to several different spool requests from within one program.
    CLOSE_FORM
    The function module closes the form opened using OPEN_FORM. The system executes any terminating processing steps for the last opened form.
    You must use this function module to close form printing. Otherwise, no output appears on printer or screen.
    START_FORM
    In-between the function modules OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM, you can use different forms. This allows you to combine several different forms into one print output. However, you can combine only those forms that have the same page format.
    To switch forms, use the function module START_FORM. If another form is still open, you must close it first using END_FORM.
    If you specify no form name when calling START_FORM, the system restarts the last open form. If after OPEN_FORM no form was activated yet, the system leaves the function module with the exception UNUSED.
    WRITE_FORM
    The system outputs the form element specified in parameter ELEMENT into the currently opened form.
    In the parameter WINDOW you can specify the name of a window for the output. Remember that the form element must be defined in this window. The parameter FUNCTION specifies how to merge the text lines to be output with any existing contents in the window. In this case, there are differences between the different window types or areas.
    WRITE_FORM_LINES
    The function module outputs the text lines in table LINES into the specified form window. The text lines must have the SAPscript ITF format. From the data in the text header, the system uses only the field TDSTYLE to apply the formatting attributes defined in the specified style for this text. If the field is empty, the system uses the identically named formatting attributes (character and paragraph formats) of the form.
    Use parameter WINDOW to specify into which of the windows defined in the form you want to output the text. You can specify any window used in the form. The parameter FUNCTION determines how to merge the text lines to be output with any existing contents in the window. There are differences between the different window types or areas.
    END_FORM
    END_FORM ends the currently open form and executes the required termination processing. After calling this function module, no more form is active. For further output, you must start a new form using START_FORM.
    CONTROL_FORM
    Use CONTROL_FORM to pass SAPscript control statements to the form.
    READ_FORM_ELEMENTS
    The function module fills a table with all text elements that appear in one form.
    If you specify no form name, the system includes all elements of the currently open form. If you specify a form, the system uses the information about the active version of the form, retrieved from the database.
    READ_FORM_LINES
    Use this function module to transfer the lines of a form element into an internal table.
    If you specify no form name, the system transfers the text lines of the currently open form. If you specify a form, the system uses the text lines of the active version of the form from the database.

    I have created a window and giving text elements in that window.Now i m Adding a lin of type /E in change editor to use text element.i needed it it to specify text elements in SPRO transaction.
    So for that i want to add text elements in Form in SPRO transaction.
    Also want to know that is it possible to use condiitons in Text elements?

    Text elements in SAPscript are the individual text components of a form. In the different windows, you can define text elements with different attributes. For printout, the print program accesses them. Text elements can also contain variables (symbols) and SAPscript control statements.
    In simple words, Text Elements are the only way to transfer the data from report program to FORM using WRITE _FORM FM.

    You can define the text elements in sap script to group the texts that you want to display...like a condition..
    Ex..

    Then use WRITE_FORM function module to call the text element

    You can also call the write_form function module within a loop..

  • Vf02 enhancement

    I have a Standard program which is based on Vf02 (billing) and it's form in SAP-Script we have assigned program to Nace T.code.
    I have to create a 'Z' program and need to call layout from this program.
    So when we execute this Z program it will ask invoice number and show the layout without using Vf02.
    Please tell me how can i solve this issue.

    Yes, You can do this with your own Zprogram and own Zscript
    No need to assign this form and program anywhere like in NACE.
    Just give the name of the form in OPEN_FORM fun module of the Z program
    see the format of the program and do accordingly

  • Develop a form and print program using VBAP, VBAK, MRKT.

    I have 2 tables VBAK [fields: VBELN, ERDAT, ERNAM, AUDAT, VBTYP, VKORG] and VBAP [Fields: POSNR, MATNR, CHARG, WAERK] and In output(form) i need the following fields,
    Output table:

    -VKORG
    -POSNR
    -MATNR
    -MAKTX <- this field is from table MAKT. (I need the Material descriptions too for all the materials.)
    Form Layout should have Header, Logo (SAP ENJOY), Main, Footer.
    Problem is that i need footer only after the End of Complete data in Main Window, thats is footer should be placed only in last window. How should i do that ?
    Logic which i thot to make the print program is : First declare an internal table itab1 with VBAP, VBAP using the above fields from two tables and fetch the product based on matnr.
    declare one internal table itab2 and select the records from the table makt by checking the condition itab1 is not initial.

    The print program is used to print forms. The program retieves the necesary data from datbase tables, defines the order of in which text elements are printed, chooses a form for printing and selects an output device and print options.
    Function modules in a printprogram:
    • When you print a form you must used the staments OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM. To combine forms into a single spool request use START_FORM and END_FORM.
    • To print textelements in a form use WRITE_FORM. The order in which the textelements are printed, is determined by the order of the WRITE_FORM statements. Note: for printing lines in the body, you can also use the WRITE_FORM_LINES function module.
    • To transfer control command to a form use CONTROL_FORM.

    he print program is used to print forms. The program retieves the necesary data from datbase tables, defines the order of in which text elements are printed, chooses a form for printing and selects an output device and print options.
    Function modules in a printprogram:
    When you print a form you must used the staments OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM. To combine forms into a single spool request use START_FORM and END_FORM.
    To print textelements in a form use WRITE_FORM. The order in which the textelements are printed, is determined by the order of the WRITE_FORM statements. Note: for printing lines in the body, you can also use the WRITE_FORM_LINES function module.
    To transfer control command to a form use CONTROL_FORM.

    In the Smartform, create a Code Node and within the Code Node you can hardcode a normal abap
    Break Point.
    to Debug SF:
    For debugging -
    1. Write BREAK POINT in the code window.
    2. Put a break point on the call function in the driver program
    3. Put a break point in the generated Function module.
    OR
    1) DEBUG Smartform:
    1) One way to debug smartform is to debug the Function Module of that smartforms.
    If you want to debug particular smartform node that the solution would be,
    insert a "Program Line" just above the node you want to debug and this program line write a normal abap breakpoint.
    So whenever you call the smartforms, it will stop at this breakpoint and you can debug onwards.
    2) SFTRACE can be used for debugging SMARTFORMS.

    Smart Forms are implemented using the Function Module SSF*, and all the logic lies in the FM. Function Modules are client independent objects, so Smart forms are also client independent
    SAP Scripts are the Layout Forms that you design and there are aviable in the client in which you have created them, for making them available you have to copy across the clients.
    Because, Sapscripts are saved in ITF format as text in client dependant tables STXH and STXL. smartforms are not saved in client dependant tables and visible across clients.
    SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s, while Smart Forms have only been around since (roughly) 2001. With that sort of time gap, there are bound to be significant differences between the two tools. As you have noted correctly, client dependence is a fundamental one.
    Although SAPscript has had some incremental improvements over time, its forms have always been -- under the hood -- relatively passive objects, with minimal embedded logic. These forms were designed to be driven and controlled by ABAP programs, much in the way ABAP programs read in database tables to produce reports; if you ever download a SAPscript form (e.g., via utility program RSTXSCRP), and look at the portable text file it produces you'll see what I mean. Many text objects (e.g., invoice header texts) are bound directly to documents which are client-dependent, so it makes sense for these text objects to also be client-dependent. From a complexity standpoint, SAPscript forms are close enough to these text objects where I can see how it made sense at the time to make them client-dependent too.
    Conversely, a Smart Form is significantly more robust and complex. For instance, it can contain program nodes and nested tables with patterns. When a Smart Form is compiled, it generates an ABAP function module – and these are always client-independent. This is appropriate, given that this form has more in common with an ABAP program than its predecessor. For instance, when a print program calls a Smart Form, the form itself takes over to produce output, without any further direction from the print program. In fact, the join is so seamless that I often find myself using a Smart Form's Initialization section for logic to handle any data gathering not handled by the print program. I would never even think to attempt this with SAPscript.
    I suspect several factors figured into SAP's decision to make Smart Forms client-independent, including customer feedback. There are significant advantages to client-independence. For instance, a change made in one development client happens immediately across all development clients. Among other things, this means we don't have to waste time figuring which client contains the most recent version -- they all do! In addition, transporting Smart Forms is easier, since we can safely bundle them together in the same transport as their client-independent print programs (no worry about mixing client-dependent and independent objects).

  • About spool

    There are some Standard Sap Scripts in SAP. We cant directly execute them in scripts we have to use some T-codes and by giving some input to the required fields we can see the output printform.
    I will show one example. There are some Standard Sap Scripts such as MEDRUCK which is a standard Sap Script for Purchase Order and RVINVOICE01 for billing and so on...
    To see oupt of MEDRUCK go to T-code ME9F give purchase order number and execute select one number and click on dislplay messages button on application tool bar you can find the print form of MEDRUCK.
    You cannot change the Standard Sap Scripts but you can use Standard Sap Scripts and Copy them to userdefined Script and can make changes to them and replace standard Sap Script with usedefind script.
    Ex: Go to SE71,
    on menu bar u find Utilities->copy from Client. click on it u ll find new screen showing
    Form name:
    Source Clinet:
    Target Form:
    give Form name as usedefined form name EX: ZFORM1
    Source client as 000 and
    Target form as MEDRUCK.
    execute.
    Now, the standard from MEDRUCK is copyied to your form ZFORM1.
    NOW, go to SE71 and give form name as ZFORM1 and do some changes to the form such as adding logo any thing. save and Activate.
    Now, you have done changes to the Form ZFORM1 and u have to replace your form with standard SAP Script.
    Go to NACE Transaction.
    on Applications select EF for purchase order and click Output types button on application tool bar.
    now select NEU as output types dobule click on Processing Routines.
    now click on Change option on application tool bar and on right side u find MEDRUCK in form place replace MEDRUCK with ZFORM1 and SAVE.
    go back twice and now go to T-code ME9F give the purchase order number and execute and select one option and click on display messges button .
    you will find the changes that you have done in ZFORM1. so we cant chage the standard Sap Scripts by copying the Standard Sap Scripts we can chage and replace with our forms.

    NACE is the Tcode used to link the Application type, Output Types and its processing Routines like ( Driver programs and attached Script forms or Smartforms).
    You should know the Application of a document first Like:
    for PO it is EF, for sales Doc's it is V1, for Delivery docs it is V2, for billing Doc's it is V3 etc.
    so first select the Application type (ex: EF) for PO and press OUtput types
    then a list will come in that you should know the related output type for PO.
    in this case it is NEU,
    select that and click on the processing Routines button on the left side
    it will display the Medium, Driver Program and the Script form or smartform related to that document..
    after designing the script and assigning it in NACE
    you define the output type in application doc alongwith the partner,medium,language and assign the printer etc
    and save
    and execute the output from the Transaction code of that application
