SAPUI5 sending tweet using twitter API

Hello Experts,
I was wondering if i could simply tweet something from SAPUI5 directly onto twitter ?
I just want to have a textarea where i put in my tweet's text, and then i just push the button tweet.
Any of you have more information regarding this ?
Kind Regards,
Bart

Hi,
you can use twitter API to create SAPUI5 application. you will find more information at Overview: Version 1.1 of the Twitter API | Twitter Developers
But it requires API key and OAuth access. earlier I developed few application based on JSON Rest APIs. you will find more info on this blog Creating SAPUI5 Applications based on Public JSON APIs or Web Services
also check this blog UI5 & Twitter - Designing the Solution from Gareth Ryan related to this subject.

Chandra

    Session session=Session.getDefaultInstance(p);
    Message msg=new MimeMessage(session);
    Transport trans = session.getTransport("smtp");
    trans.connect("smtp.bol.net.in","[email protected]","1234563757");

    It compiles fine but showing exceptions at run time.Please help me to remove these exceptions.I am new to this JavaMail and it is my first program of javamail.Please also tell me how to use smtp server.I am using MTNL 's internet connection having smtp.bol.net.in server.
    exceptions are:
    Here is exception

    Did you find the JavaMail FAQ?
    You should talk to your ISP to get the details for connecting to your server.
    In this case I suspect your server wants you to make the connection on the
    secure port. The FAQ has examples of how to do this for GMail and Yahoo
    mail, which work similarly. By changing the host name, these same examples
    will likely work for you.

  • Send email using CM API

    Is there a way to send emails using the SMTP Channels listed in Sys Adm - Sys Config - KM - config - CM - Utilities - Channels - EMAIL?
    Is there a Collaboration API for this? Javamail is one option but are there any other options?
    Thanks

    Hi Siddhartha,
    you can use the ChannelFactory of the KM API.
    The code would look somehow like:
    IChannel emailChannel = ChannelFactory.getChannel(ChannelFactory.EMAIL);
    Then use one of the <i>IChannel.sendTo</i> methods, to send the email.
    Another (more complex) way is to use the NotificatorService. The <i>NotificatorService</i> can take <i>INotification</i> objects, that will be processed by our XML/XSL Pipeline. The idea is to have a XML Template in the /etc/notification folder that is attached to a specific type of notification (e.g. Subscription), and which can be processed by a XSL (also in /etc/notification) to create a HTML/TEXT email. The is more complex but also more flexible to allow customers to simply change the notifications by editing the XML/XSL files.
    In this case the <i>NotificatorService</i> takes care of sending the (processed HTML) mail.
    Hope this gives some ideas....

  • Sending fax using java API

    Hai,
    There is a requirement in one of the projects i am currently working, to send fax from the application to any fax machine in the world. I am now assigned
    the task of finding out how this can be done in java. I have been " googling " all day . All i could find are some vague comments on certain posts including this site:
    1) This could be done using the javax comm package ( i could not find any detailed explanation as how it could be done or sample code)
    2) Could be done by installing some certain software and using it.
    By my requirement is to send fax from within my application , not any third party applications. I also cant use the online services which come as the search result
    while i "googled".
    So can sending faxes be done from a java application using the standard java packages or any extensions? Could any one point me to a sample implementation ?
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanking u in advance,
    Martin Joseph

    In order to send fax from a java application you would first have to have a fax server setup. Which would receive files from your application and send it. Now how you utilize it depends upon the implementation of the server. There could be an API made available to you or it could be as simple as dropping your files to a certain folder or ftping them to a certain location on the server itself from where it picks them up and faxes them. So in short the implementation is a function of your server choice and whether you have one already, decide to use an existing one or find one publicly available on the net.

    Unable to relay - This happened because your Company network don't permit relay. Do talk to the network administrator and check with way safe you can send.

  • Twitter API and Edge Animate not working

    Hi,
    I have watched great video about using Twitter API in Edge Animate on Adobe TV and I thought I would give it a go.
    I followed the steps and unfortunately it's not working for me.... Not even an error message when tested in a browser, nothing...
    Here's my code for compositionReady:
    try {
        // Read tweets, set number of tweets to display
        var 0 = { username: "adobeedge", count: 4};
        var twitterUrl = "http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name="+o.username+"&count="+o.count;
        // AJAX function for communicating to Twitter API
        $.ajax( {url: twitterUrl, dataType: "jsonp"} )
            .success(function(data) {
            $.each(data, function(index, item) {
                var itemRenderer = sym.createChildSymbol("itemRenderer", "tweetContainer");
                itemRenderer.$("tweet").html( item.text );
                itemRenderer.$("image").css("background-image", "url("+item.user.profile_image_url+")");
    catch(error) {
            alert("Error: "+error.toString());
    Any suggestions?

    Please, could you replace "adobeedge" by "adobeanimate".
    Before:
    After:
    try {
                var o = { username: 'edgeanimate', count: 4 };
                var twitterUrl = 'http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name='+o.username+'&count='+o.count;

    If I try and send file as attachments from the tmp directory, then everything works ok, but if I try to send the same file from any other directory, then it doesn't work. Can anyone help? Is there something wrong with the code, I'm not aware of anything that would make it directory specfic. Permissions are the same on /tmp as the new directory /NRS/Data/SystemX which I'm trying to send the file from now.

    well
    if u see the end of ur mail it shows the attachment dir there in which u have specified the address..why don't u do a change there or better have some in parameteres in the procedure for it..that would help in choosing the attachment directory on users wish?
    hope i am getting the problem right..if not kindly correct me in understanding the problem.
    thanX.

    Hello All,
    I am sending emails in a loop(one after the other) using JavaMail API,but the problem is, if the first two,three email addresses in the loop are Valid it sends the Email Properly, but if the Fourth or so is Invalid Address it throws an Exception....

    How Could i Trap the exception thrown and handle it in such a way, so that the loops continues ..
    Is there something with the SMTP Server....?

    How about something like the code attached here. Be aware it is lifted and edited out of an app we have here so it may require changing to get it to work. If it don't work - don't come asking for help as this is only a rough example of one way of doing it. RTFM - that's how we worked it out!
    SH
    try {
    Transport.send(msg);
    // If we get to here then the mail went OK so update all the records in the email as sent
    System.out.println("Email sent OK");
    catch (MessagingException mex) {
    System.out.println("Message error");
    Exception ex = mex;
    do {
    if (ex instanceof SendFailedException) {
    if (ex.getMessage().startsWith("Sending failed")) {
    // Ignore this message as we want to know the real reason for failure
    // If we get an Invalid Address error or a Message partially delivered message process the message
    if (ex.getMessage().startsWith("Message partially delivered")
    || ex.getMessage().startsWith("Invalid Addresses")) {
    // This message is of interest as we need to process the actual individual addresses
    System.out.println(ex.getMessage().substring(0, ex.getMessage().indexOf(";")));

    SendFailedException sfex = (SendFailedException) ex;

    if (ex instanceof MessagingException)
    ex = ((MessagingException) ex).getNextException();

  • Sending messages thru email and SMS without using XMS APIs

    Hi,
    I already have some working code that sends messages thru email and SMS. But currently it uses XMS APIs therefore I have a dependency on files like wdk.jar. I want to try and eliminate using the XMS APIs and only use soap to send these messages. I was wondering if there is some documentation available on how I can do this. Also if there a lot of code that needs to be written to do that.
    I primarily want a very simple application that sends only string messages and reduce my dependencies.
    I would really appreciate all the advice.
    Thanks,
    Sonali Nath

  • Twitter api using data pooling

    Hi Team ,  I am planning to pool data from Twitter,Faceback. How to pool the data any API Available for this?

    Hello Rajkumar,
    Twitter do have an API (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1), it requires OAuth though which Power Query AFAIK don't support (yet). See this thread for more info: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/6f51d906-294a-4eeb-8e52-10323ea3128c/power-query-and-twitter-api-11?forum=powerquery
    Facebook has limited support through built-in functionality in Power Query. http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/excel-help/connect-to-facebook-HA104019831.aspx

  • Using Twitter on iPad Air

    Forgive me if this has been brought up before, but I couldn't find it in a search.
    I got an iPad Air a couple of days ago, and have been trying to use it. I have noticed a problem when using Twitter - it might be related to the general problem that I have with Safari and Google Chrome on the iPad (i.e. I can only see part of any web site and lose access to sidebars) or it might be a separate problem. Basically, so many of the 'normal' facilities on Twitter are not there. Most annoyingly, there is no facility for composing a new tweet; the user guide says something about clicking on the icon with the quill, but there is no such icon available to me. I have devised a workaround - basically I click on 'reply' on a random tweet, and then backspace until I have deleted the sender's @string - but that is rather unwieldy and I should not have to do it. Can anyone help me out?
    Thank you.

    @robdrage - Suddenly I actually have icons! They are slow to respond, but one of them is the fabled quill-on-page, and it does open a new tweet. This has appeared by magic since I initiated this query. The other icons are the magnifying glass (which opens a search), and the arrow going into a box (which does nothing at all).
