Satellite A110-231 - CD/DVD drivers for Windows 7

Hi all,
I bought my Toshiba Satellite A110-231 notebook in January 2007 in Spain. It came with Windows XP but has a label "Windows Vista ready". I installed Windows Vista and all the notebook's components worked fine. Now I just installed Windows 7, but the CD/DVD drive (Pioneer K16A) won't be recognized. I assume Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the same system requirements, so how can I make my DVD drive work on this OS?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by saying not recognized?
Is the CD/DVD drive not visible in the device manager or what?
What does the BIOS said? Is the ODD recognized in BIOS?
Usually the CD/DVD drive uses the own Microsoft drivers and it should work with Win XP, Vista and Win 7.

I have checked the page and it seems that for Windows 7 are no drivers available. I think its why Satellite X200 is pretty old.
But from my own experience I can say that the most Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7. You should check this too! ;)

Hello I am trying to update my notebook from Windows XP to Windows 7 and need new drivers.
My machine specs
Satellite L30 (PSL30A-00100E)
1.6 Celeron M
2GB RAM
40gb disk space
ATI gfx card (Radeon 200m?)
Intel chipset
Realtek RTL8139/810x family network card
Realtek High Definition Audio Device
Only the gfx card, sound card and network card need new drivers

Thanks so much for the swift reply's :) I had Windows XPsp3 running very well on this old computer and was quite happy with it. I decided windows 7 being new I'd give it a go anyways, so I can go back if I have to. I am going to battle on though I think this is achievable. Found this thread on another website, I am giving this solution a go www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/35629-radeon-xpress-200m-problems.html as it sounds promising.

Satellite A305D-S6835 - Need some drivers for Windows 7 32bit

I installed Windows 7 (32-bit) on my machine, everything is recognized, except 2 devices! I do not know what could it be, because in "device manager" write "base system device"! I tried to update it from device manager, but I had not luck!
If someone knows what is this, please help!

Well, I think nobody can say exactly what drivers you need if you dont post detailed information about these unknown devices.
First of all you should identify them. Therefore you must check the vendor and device ID as you can read in following article:

Drivers for Windows Vista 64-bit on Satellite L300-1AM

When I can get drivers for Windows Vista 64-bit? Or I need to intall 32-bit drivers on my 64-bit Vista operating system?

In the Drivers Search Page (the link above) select these filters:
_Product type:_ +Notebook+
_Family:_ +Satellite+
_Product Series:_ +Satellite A Series+ (don't try the L series if you want to find anything useful)
_Operating System:_ +Windows Vista 64 Bit+
_Country:_ +World Wide+ (you have to select this in order to get rid of those multiple country options available for the modem)
_Language:_ +English+ (obviously)
Don't modify any other filter. The results will be about 100 (maybe more, but the site is set to show up to 100 results).
Advices:
1. Download the latest versions only (there's no point in downloading multiple versions of the same driver, yet they will be shown in the search results area)
2. Download what's specific to your laptop only (network - RealTek, both wired and wireless; chipset and graphics - Intel; modem - Toshiba; webcam - Chicony; there's no point in downloading anything from otehr vendors - except maybe the touchpad, but Windows can handle it properly without aditional drivers)
3. Don't download any BIOS or Firmware file; they might not be for your notebook, and installing the wrong ones is a sure path to screwing up your notebook (and losing the warranty); if you need them upgraded, go to the download page for your specific model, Windows XP or Windows Vista 32 Bit drivers (since they are OS independent anyway)
Toshiba utilities (DVD Player, ConfigFree, etc.) should be OK too (again, download the latest version only).
BTW, I own 2 Toshiba notebooks (L300-1AM and L300-1AN; quite similar, the differences are in HDD and CPU only) and I had the same problem: no 64-bit drivers (and the same "support"). Quite strange the idea that Toshiba is testing these 64-bit drivers before releasing them (according to a previous post), since the same drivers, for the very same chipsets - but installed on other models - are available. Windows Vista 64-bit is out on the market for nearly 2 years now, the production of these models has already been stopped (and I assume they have not been produced during one night only :) ), yet they had no time to test the drivers... High-class support from Toshiba!

How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?

Hello everyone,
I am facing a problem with bootcamp on my Macbook pro 15" (Mid 2010, running Mos OS 10.6.6).
I have successfully installed windows 7 via Bootcamp, but I lost the Drivers DVD furnished by Apple.
I tried to download these using Bootcamp (v3.0.4), but bootcamp won't let me save it, i get this error :
"the windows support software could not be saved to the selected folder"
An Apple support article has been made for this problem ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3648 ), but it doesn't solve the problem in my case because I lost the furnished DVD.
So here I am, struck on this drivers issue...
So, my question is :
How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?

What about Drivers for Windows XP (32-Bit)?
On the Toshiba Driver Site for this product there are only drivers vor vista 32 bit and vista 64 bit...
where can I find drivers for Win XP??? Or do the Vista drivers work for Win XP, too??
I cannot test it now because I first want to ensure that it will work with win xp, after I wanted to install it..

The Satellite L500 doesnt support Windows XP, it supports only Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit. Windows XP is pretty old OS, it the past. Now its Windows Vista or Windows 7.
If you want to install XP you have to collect the drivers by yourself on external websites, like Intel, Realtek and so far.
But to be honest be happy with preinstalled OS. All new notebooks are fast enough for Vista. ;)

I have checked the Toshiba page and your model belongs to the PSAKCE series. Therefore the Toshiba website doesnt show Windows 7 drivers at the moment. Maybe they will be released soon because every day more and more drivers for Windows 7 will be released.
If you want you can try the drivers for another A300D model. Maybe they will work because I dont see a big difference there.

The drivers for Windows Vista are compatible to Windows 7 and most of them work on Windows 7.
So you can try these drivers.
But drivers especially for Windows 7 you will not find at the moment because Windows 7 isnt on the market as yet. You have to wait until the official release because some days or weeks later normally the drivers support starts.

Using bootcamp 5.1, Windows 7 home is installed but missed installing the drivers disk. How to install the Mac drivers for windows after the fact.

While using Bootcamp 5.1, and OS X 10.8.2, I partitioned my Mac disk with 80 Gigs for Windows 7 home and the install went great, but I must have missed the time when I was to install the Mac drivers disk to install the drivers for Windows,(when in Windows I don't have a mouse or optical drive.) I am trying to instal windows 7 on my MacBook Pro thru Boot Camp. Does anyone know where I can download the Boot Camp drivers for windows. I can't find them on the apple website and I don't have my Mac OS X instal DVD with me.

Only if you don't mind a Windows system lacking most features and thus beaing nearly unuseable.
Applying the appropriate drivers for hardware support is a must for all operating systems.
