Satellite L670-143 white and blinking screen

Hi,
My laptop screen gets white and blinks after a few minutes working on it.
A year ago was getting just once in a while. But lately is just every 10 minutes.
Then I have to turn off and on to get it back again.
Hope somebody can help.

It must be some hardware problem. I dont know how old your notebook is but if the warranty is still valid contact nearest Toshiba service provider as soon as possible. They can fix it for you.

Watching Movies: iPod to TV- black and white and split screen. Help?

As you can see, the chord colors on that cable are red, green, and white. The places where the chords go in on my DVD player are yellow, red, and white. As you can tell, they don't go up. I connected them so the audio works fine, but the movie shows up ONLY in black and white, and the screen is split right down the middle. On my iPod, the 'Video Setting' do not fix this. I also have the iPod Classic 80 GB, for reference.

As the title said, my Macbook pro starts up with the grey and blinking screen instead of the original apple Logo, but then all still normal for using.
The laptop bought for ca 1 year and no other tech problems found.
Does anyone know how to fix it? Thx.

White and purple screen

I have bought a new MacBook and sometimes (once a week...) it stops working, the screen is completely purple or white and all I can do is turn it off by long pressing of the button. I have no idea what is this caused by, every time I am doing something different.
How could I recognize what is wrong without reinstall the system? Is there any log of errors that could help me if this is hardware or software problem?

My ipod touch shows both white and blue screen and wont come on

My ipod only shows white and sometime blue screen I have reset it and let the battery go completly dead and tried hooking it back up to charger. Even tried different usb cords and no luck with any of it. I was trying to update its software and then It just done this. It has not been dropped or anything. Any ideas is much appreciated. -Thanks

Black and White and Title screens don't save

Hi,
i have a problem with Premiere Pro CS3.
I am currently editing a color film and have applied the black and white effect to most of the scenes. At a certain point the program seems to have no capacity for that effect anymore. Half of the film stays black and white when saving, closing the program and opening the file again, but the other half is still displayed in color. I checked the effects of those scenes. the black and white effect is still applied, but it doesn't work, the scene is displayed in color.
Furthermore some Title screens get lost after a save. They show the "media offline" picture. When double clicking them, the correct title window is displayed, but it is not correctly shown in the film.
I tried to save other stuff like shortening the film and it works fine.
Can you help me? What went wrong? What do I do wrong?

hmm interesting
i tried to import the project into a new project. what happend is the following:
i had a new folder in the project window (maybe what you call PP. i don't know, because i have got the german version). that folder contains whole film from the other project called "Sequenz 01" and all the other root files. the interesting thing is: after importing the project, i see it with an applied black and white effect and also all the title screens are inserted and shown correctly.
problem solved ..... i thought.
saving the new project results into the same problem as before. when re-opening the project part of the film (only the last couple of scenes) is in color again and the title screens don't now their root.
note: i tried to export the film and see whether the exported .avi or .mpg is also erroneous. sadly, thats the case
i don't think its a machine-level error, because i tried it on three machines already.
all machines had vista, intel core 2 duo 2400mhz, graphics intel q965/963 express chipset family

Satellite L840 - BIOS update and blue screen

Hello,
I recently bought a Toshiba L840-04E (PSK8LA- O4E007) and installed Windows 7 64bit.
Issue: BlueScreen
Question: I assume this is the dreaded "blue screen of death" and I need to do something to prevent servious problems in the future (I've used the laptop lightly for a couple of days with no issues).
How do I analyze the dump information to find out what caused the blue screen?
Or is it best to go back to the last restore point before the blue screen event? A restore point was made before I updated the BIOS from v 1.80 to 6.20. Also, Toshiba shows that there is a new BIOS 6.30 version.
Before the blue screen event I had changed the setting for the on/off button to "shut down" and made a few minor other changes to settings and then just before the blue screen error I plugged in a Seagate External Hard Drive.
Are there any suggestions about what steps I should take?

Generally the BSOD appears due to serious software problem or hardware problem.
You said you connected an external USB HDD to the notebook right before the BSOD appeared so probably the BSOD was caused by the attached HDD who knows
If this happened for the first time, dont be afraid it could be just a temporal problem
But if it would appear often, you should investigate a little bit and should try to replicate the issue and the reason for that

Satellite L670-184 superheating and crashing

Hello,
I have bought this laptop a few months ago, I am very satisfied about this product, except for this: each time I ask complicated tasks, like a recent game, the laptop go very hot, even if the ventilating system is not obstruated at all. The PC go more and more hot, until it crash and shutdown. Then, it is impossible to boot it before a dozen minutes, even the alimentation led stays off.
Some simple tasks may cause superheating too: I've been very surprised to see that Heroes III or Google Chrome with numerous tabs cause crash as well as Crysis 2 or Shogun 2 TW.
How could I resolve this problem, without adding some external mechanical fan? Is this problem a caracreristic of the product, or is it a manufacturing effect concerning only my laptop?

Indeed the problem could come from dust in the cooling system, however I bought this laptop four months ago, and I don't use it in dirty environments; so I think this problem probably come from something else. Moreover, this heatness problem began a few days after buying the lap.

There is no useless applications running in the background, except if the laptop have been corrupted by some invisible virus.
Sometimes my internet navigator or my word processor stay open while gaming, but I consider that it is part of the normal use of a laptop in this category. Considering the properties of this PC, it seems to me that it should work properly this way. Isn't it?

I don't know what you are talking about, where is this cooling configuration? Is it a standard Windows panel? a Toshiba tool? something in the BIOS?
I usually don't use the battery while gaming, so I cannot say if there is any difference with AC power supply, but I can test it if you think that's could be the origin of the problem.

White blinking screen X2-01

My nokia X2-01 suddenly flashed a white screen and started to blink. The phone would continue blinking until the battery is dead. I tried bringing it to a local repair shop (not nokia care) and they said that the phone needs to be formatted. After I got it, the phone was working again. After one week, the white blinking screen continued. We brought it to the same local repair shop. They said that the phone's software needed to be updated and said it costs 500 pesos. I hesitated because I know that it is free to update the phone. What I don't know is how they managed to update the phone's software if it is not turning on properly and the computer can't detect it.
I also tried removing the battery, memory card and sim card. Now the phone would not turn on at all. Please help.
Is this the real problem of my phone? How can I fix it. Thank you for answering.

Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
We would strongly advise you to take your phone to an authorised Nokia Care point and let them have a look. This is because if you get your phone flashed at a random repair shop, they may install wrong or faulty firmware on it, causing further damage to the phone and voiding any existing warranty. Flashing and blinking screen may indicate that there is a hardware issue, one more reason to visit your local Nokia Care point.

2012 intel MacBook Pro Flashing and blinking screen. I repaired permissions and then was able to see Mac Forums which suggested I zap the PRAM . I did so (command/opt/p/r). Seemed fixed. Mde Geious Bar Appt. Decided to also get a hand held for emergency e mails! Genius diagnostics found nothing wrong!! , but indicated trouble might not be over. (he's right!!!!...I am blinking now). Before next step, I have to figure out how to back up everything!!! . Then Genius will take out battery and do more "things". Sigh!! I see on forums and groups that this has been a problem since at least 2008!!! Does anybody have more insight or advice on this??

i did the apple sign came on as white and my screen had white around the edges i retored it and afterwards my phone is vibrating nonstop on the USB cored while still pluged to my pc

HT1553 I did the back up as instructed... Installed a larger hard drive and followed the restore instructions... Now I get a white screen with a folder icon and blinking question mark. When trying to set startup with new drive I get a bless tool error...

If you have installed a new hard drive , you will need to have formatted it in Disk Utility correctly. This may explain your problem.
Boot into your 10.6 Install disk again at the top menubar > Utilities > select Disk utility and in there select your new hard drive, and select the tab Erase and choose to make the format as Mac OS Extended Journaled. When that is finished look in the main window to make sure that the partition map scheme says GUID Partition Table.
Now go to the Restore tab and reinstall from your backup.

If they are the instructions I think you might have seen, they are for the Apple TV 2.
Unfortunately I think your Apple TV may have failed.
You might try removing ALL the cables for a while and trying again, but I think you may be out of luck.
