Save as a PDF in Flash

Hello All,
I have been searching for a tutorial with no luck on saving a movieclip as a PDF (or jpg, png, tiff, etc). I am using AS2/CS3... I am pretty sure I have seen this done and just really want to figure out how to do it.
Thanks in advance!

found this thread and a guy answers it at the bottom. tested it and it works exactly how i wanted.

Take a look at the FileReference Class. This will allow you
to click on a link and then open a Save dialogue so you can save
    the pdf on your computer.

  • When saving a file in photoshop cc , using "save as" the pdf has clipping (color is not showing) in parts of the document.

When we save a file to a pdf from photoshop cc the pdf will show some clipping of color , as if the color disappeared on the pdf. what steps are needed so this doesn't occur?

Thank you for responding. Below is some info.
Please see the clipping on the "d" in Pastel Bond and White Bond and the rounded part of the "R" in 2 &3 Part NCR. We have had this happen on occasion with other files as well. Thanks for the help.

  • "Save to Adobe PDF" app

Just upgraded my iMac at work to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.... finally!!!!
But still running CS4 with Acrobat 9 (v9.5.2)
I edit master files using MS Word that are saved on my local server.
I distribute those files as PDFs saved to another server.
When updating files under Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, printing with the PDF printer driver, I had a very fast simple work flow:
Cick Print (Adobe PDF Printer was the default),
       navigate to the desired folder,
click on the file to replace and then
       click Replace.
But under Snow Leopard, this workflow is now messed up:
       Click Print
Click Continue in Save to Adobe PDF popup menu
       navigate to the desired folder
This is where the mess really starts.
If the file is new, not an update, and I just want to save it, "Microsoft Word - " is always prepended to the file name, and there is always a dual extension: ".docx.pdf" So I **always** have to edit it.
If the file is being saved as an update, when I click on the file to update, the file name no longer has an extension, not even a hidden one, just nothing at all. This is OK as far as Macs are concerned, the file still shows as a PDF file in Get Info. But Windows PCs (where these files will be used) no longer have a clue as to file type. So I **always** have to type ".pdf" after the file name.
Finally I can click Save or Replace
And, if for any reason, I click "Cancel", Save to Adobe PDF **always** says "an error occurred while saving the PDF".
So... in this day and age, why isn't this any smarter???? Why is this app making me work more????
    1) Is there any way to bypass the annoying unwanted PDF Settings/PDF Creation popup menu so I don't **always** have to click Continue??? Why isn't there a Preferences / Options menu item for this so I can pull it up only when needed???? Why always interrupt my workflow????
    2) Is the default file name with "Microsoft Word - "  prepended to it an Adobe action or an MS Word action???? Who do I complain to about this??? Its possible that this is an MS Word abberation, as test prints in MS Excel and Mozilla Firefox don't show this problem.
    3) Why do I have to keep screwing around with extensions???? Can't someone do some intelligent programming to make this simple and automatic for the user??????????????
    4) in the normal course of pressing offered buttons such as Cancel, I should never see an error pop up.
Now, when I get home today, where I'm running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion with CS5, I'll have to see if this is any smarter.

    Hi,
Are you still experiencing this issue. Let me know what is the version of Adobe application installed on your machine.

  • I can't print multiple pages from a website using the site's print button or 'file - print' and if I try to save as a PDF, it still only saves the first page and then cuts off.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Firefox version 3.6.8. When I'm on a website and try to print the info on the site, whether I use the site's own 'print' option, or I go to the Firefox toolbar and try to use 'File->Print', only 1 page prints out - it just cuts off mid-page. If I try to save as a PDF instead, the same thing happens in exactly the same spot - it saves as a 1-page PDF and cuts off in the middle of the page. I've already tried all of the suggestions here https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Printing+a+web+page?s=printing&as=s and the suggestions here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages and nothing has worked.
    I appreciate any help!!

I have the same problem... not being able to print website 'Print' pages. I have read carefully the above link and have followed the reset directions in about:config, but I still cannot print in Firefox. Both Google Chrome and IE work perfectly every time. I have verified that the correct printer is selected and that the margins are in order (0.5 all around happen to be what mine are set for). I have resorted to use the Firefox Add On "View this Page in IE" whenever I need to print something. Works like a charm, but come on... it should work in Firefox too! I know there is some setting or something, but the Problems_printing_web_pages link had nothing there that worked for me.

  • Problem with "Save as Adobe PDF format" in Excel and Word

    Hi
When I use printing zone in Excel and make a «Save as Adobe PDF format» (menu File / Save as Adobe PDF), the first save is well done. But when I make it a second time, what's not in the printing zone is printing in the document.
I have also problem with the «Save as Adobe PDF format» in Word. The images superposition are not well print.
I'm using Windows 7 in french, Office 2010 french and Adobe Acrobat XI standard. All is in the latest version.
    Thanks

The Save As PDF feature in Office2008 Call up a PDF  Creator similar to the AdobePDF Print Driver. whch OX.6 can't use.
To create Pdf you have to use method used:
    http://indesignsecrets.com/acrobats-adobe-pdf-printer-replaced-in-snow-leopard.php
Not before you attempt to use this method if  Rossetta is not installed. pop in your Systems DVD and install Rosetta. Then follow directions to install the Adobe Quality PDF Automator Script which will show up in the Print Menu. Click on Print > then click PDF. Then Click on Adobe quality PDF.  AS for setting up Job options and other details Supposedly your suppose to  have access. But I have no idea.
First thing Rosetta should be installed out of the box. and Second Adobe should install this Script from their installer. So their should be no intervention from the user. it should just work. Early report when OSX.6 first came out almost no one was able to get this to work. and I see periodic reports that people still can't get it tork and they have to to resort to saving as .ps files then droping on distiller.
    Good luck.

  • Save report as pdf in the database

    Hi all,
is it possible to save the generated pdf from reports10g in the database?
    Regards

Here is what I was looking for:
re:How to get cookie information or http headers values inside Oracle reports
pr_example in the above forum was written under 8i. In 9i, they added the timeout which is set to a default of 60 seconds. Look at the UTL_HTTP package spec on more information on setting this timeout.
Plus, printing the BLOB is easier too. You can just use wpg_docload.download_file instead of using the while loop.
Anyway, that example shows you how to call a report from a stored procedure, store it in a blob, and even it print it back to the browser.

  • Requesting user capability to "Save Response as PDF File w/form design intact"

Love the new admin "Save Response as PDF File with form design intact" feature, but we really need for our indivual users (i.e. the ones filling out the form) to be able to do this. Our director still needs a hard copy of the form for manual signatures and those who pay by check. Our committee chairs use the online data (from excel file) but we also need the user to print a hard copy to physically turn in to the director. A .pdf file with form design intact that our user could print out and turn in would be helpful.

    Hi,
We have an "Ideas" page where you can add or vote on feature ideas:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral?view=idea
I am pretty sure this idea has been added for you to vote on, but I didn't find it to link to.  I know it is a popular request though so if you need to add a new idea click "Create an idea" under "Actions" in the top right, I am sure it will get a lot of votes..
    Thanks,

  • How do I force an .ait to always save as a .pdf

I create a lot of very similar files in Illustrator. The way they have been doing it is that they have .pdf files of the basic templates that they use, and then always use "save as" after they have opened and changed it. I was just wondering, is there a way to set an .ait so that it always saves as a pdf, or conversely, is there a way to create a pdf file which will not accidentally be "saved over itself".
I really like the fact that when you open a template file, it opens as "untitled" so that when you go to save, you always are creating a new file, however since we really only have use for .pdf files, it is kind of annoying with a template file because whenever I go to save, I have to change the "file type" field from .ai to ,pdf.
Additionally, how do I set these templates (or perhaps just Illustrator itself) so that they always default to saving in the same folder? There is really only one place that I want to save these files, but since I often open files from other locations, the save location changes with me, and then I have to navigate back to my "save" folder every time.
Anyway, thanks in andvance for any help you can give.

Well, then I guess that is my real question... how does that work?—the script menu was the first thing I tried. When I direct to Scripts>SaveAsPdf and select a folder to save in, it changes the file I have open to a pdf, but then my template is closed. When I go back and reopen a file from the template, it creates another .ai file. I know it sounds kind of minor, but these files get created about 50 times a day, so it really gets annoying.
What I want is a template that creates a new pdf  file every time I open it. Currently the template creates a new .ai  file, which I then have to select "save as" and then select "pdf" from  the drop down menu, then "save" and then "save as pdf" when the pdf settings (which never change) screen pops up.
Also, I want all my descendant files to be saved in one—and only one—folder. It seems that whenever I open or save a file in another folder, then my save location moves with it. When I go to create a new descendant file I have to navigate back to my "save descendant files here" folder. Is there a way to attach the "save" location to each .ait file, so that I don't have to keep navigating back and forth 50 times a day?
Anyway, Maybe I am just nit picking about things that do still work the way they are, but I'm trying to eliminate as many opportunities to make uneccesary mistakes as possible, and relieve a bit of my Repetitive Click Navigation Stress...

  • How can i save my work pdf files and personal pdf files separately in my ipadmini

    Hi,
I would like some help on separating my personal and work pdf files in my ipad. Currently i saved everything in ibook but find it unprofessional when i have to show my clients my work
Is there any other way to save my work pdf files separately?
    trena.c

If you still would like to use Ibooks you can add Collections. i.e.. work pdf's
View your collections, add a new one.
Now go to the pdf's you want to add to that collection and move them to the new collection you have just created.
    Hope this helps.
