"Save AS" in another window

Hi all,
I use the following to prompt a save as dialog box :
response.setContentType("image/svg+xml");
response.setHeader( "Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + filename);
It works, but as the file to open is a svg file (xml file), it is opened in the window (IE) where I have my application running and I would like it to open in another one. How can I do this ?

Thanks a lot : it works fine.
I have another question : if the user chooses to open the file, no problem, it opens in another window (what I wanted) but if he chooses to save it , a new explorer window is opened but appears empty. So is there a way to know what the user chose ? Or to close the empty window ?

But as a precaution, you should save it again on your computer.

Hi everybody,
I am in France. I have juste installed Lion. I have to regularly send php files on to a website on a Linux Gentoo under Apache webserver. Up until now I used Smultron (a text and code editor) and saved the files in Mac Os Roman Character encoding. This does not work anymore and the French accuentated characters are not displayed correctly on the web site. The website is ISO-8859-1.
I have tried within Smultron but also within TextEdit, to copy and paste a correctly accentuated version of one of the php files and then save it in another encoding but neither apps let me use Mac Os Roman or Windows Latin or even Latin 1, I can only save using UTF8 and I have the following message :
" This document can no longer be saved using its Western (Iso Latin 1) encoding"
If I type a small text with accents and save it as a php file in Iso Latin 1, it works, but not the big files with php code within...
Anybody can help ? I cannot send links to the web pages because they are password protected.

I find part of your post rather confusing. MacRoman and ISO-8859-1 are totally different and one would not expect the former to display correctly if viewed as the latter.
If TextEdit will only save as UTF-8, it seems like your file must have some character in it, perhaps difficult to see, which is not contained in Latin 1. If you could send me a copy of a file where you have this problem, I could take a look (tom at bluesky dot org).

I have one doubt in Webdynpro with java. How to display another window by using Check box?
For Exam My requirement is I am getting BAPI from ECC System. So I have to go given input details in first view and output details in Second View. So in Second View I will taken Table that data will displayed in rows. each and every row first check box is available.
Here Select Check Box of particular row then click Edit button. That row data will be displayed in one popup window.
empid, name, sal ,firstname, last Name

Suppose I have to select check box in First Row Click on EDIT button That row data will be displayed in another popup window here customer will change details depending up requirement click on SAVE Button that update data will saved in ECC System.

Your question is not clear enough to give an answer. Do you have some difficulties with the code for opening a popup-window? There are many-many examples in the forum how to open/close a popup.
Or you do not know how to bind the popup opening with clicking a check box? Just put the code in the onSelect event handler of the check box.

Ok this worked to solve the error.
Use cmd prompt in windows 7 or 8 and run as admin:
sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled
No need for all that power shell nonsense as shown elsewhere for windows 8.
That's it. Also force smb2 disabling on the apple side for good measure.
With the above I was able to network mavericks and windows 8.1 pro flawlessly. He issues I had before where I could not read video, ISO and audio files (but could open documents and pictures from the windows machine connected to an apple network share folder went away.

I can't download firefox. When I click on run, I get a window saying that the author is unknown. When I click on run in the new window, another window says the file is corrupt. What can I do about this?

I want to have firefox as my default browser. As this is a new laptop, I hasve to download firefox. As per the instructions, I click on "run" to complete the download, but instead of completing the download, a window appears which says that the author is unknown. If I ignore the window and click on run, I get another window which says the file is corrupt and I can't finish the download and have firefox as my browser.
I have windows 7 and explorer is the default browser and I want to change to firefox, but so far am being prevented from doing so. How can I successfully download firefox?

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You may have to create an Allow cookie exception for that server.
* Tools > Page Info > Permissions

Closing one of the opening windows tries to close all tabs on another window

I opened two windows, one with multiple tabs and another is no tab, when closing a window with no tab, a prompt window appears and ask if I want to close all tabs on another window. Prompt window appeared twice. Is this a bug?

I also had this issue and disabling the Awesome Screenshot add-on fixed it for me too. Its not doing it anymore after disabling that plugin. Thanks for the tip!!!

How to handle "/9.2.0/root.sh as root from another window" in silent instal

I was successful to start a silent installation of Oracle9iR2 using a responsefile on my System RHEL 3. But the installation ends soon and a wrong successful install message:
Error :*** Alert: A configuration script needs to be run as root before installation can proceed. Please leave this window up, go run /opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0/root.sh as root from another window, then come back here and click OK to continue. ***
The installation of Oracle9i Database was successful.
I use -ignorePatchConflicts for ignoring the patch conflicts. But How do I handle these issues. Where I have to run root.sh ... etc in teh Non Interactive Install.
I am scripting solution for non interactive install and manual intervention to run these root.sh shell scripts at different points of install is not a good idea as it wont help me automate the install.
Please let me know if anyone has solved this problem with -silent install.

Is the report in another browser window or different application?
In the General Safari Preferences there are options for link behavior.
What type of file are the reports in? html, pdf, .xls ?
What website? Is it internal at your work?
etc.
I am sure someone can help with just one or two bits of extra info.
