Save File on Flash without delete last one with EEM

Hi.
I trying to configure an EEM for save the "ip cache flow" on Flash memory, but when the threshold is reached repeatedly the last file saved is "overwrite"... I need save a copy for every event.
Somebody could help me please, its a little urgent :P

Here is some Tcl code that you can add to your EEM policy to do file rotation. This assumes all files will be written to flash:flows and all files are named respective to date so that when you sort, the oldest file is last:
set files [lsort [glob flash:flows/*]]

I am moving all of my iphoto pictures into seperate folders becuase iphoto is great, but a bit cumbersome when I need to transfer all the pictures to a external drive.

If you Control click on the iPhoto Library, you'll see a list of folders - one named "Masters". Inside of this folder are all of your original, high-res photos. You can copy them to other folders if you like.
You can't delete iPhoto pics without deleting the ones in the iPhoto Library.
You can copy all of your Masters pics out of the Library, ensuring that you won't forget any.
I don't know of anyway to determine if there are duplicate photos - most (if not all) have a unique name assigned.

Are you connecting to a different iTunes library than you normally connect to? That will erase the songs and playlists since the iPhone can't be connected to multiple libraries even if it is in manual sync mode.
If you no longer have access to the original library that your iPhone calls 'home', then the only way to save the playlist (and the songs on your iPhone) would be to use a 3rd party application to extract your iPhone contents to this new iTunes library you're trying to connect to.

How do I copy photos from my Mac to my iPad without deleting the ones that are there?

I understand how to sync photos from my iPhoto library to my iPad. I want to copy photos from my Mac to the iPad without syncing, because syncing deletes everything on the iPad that isn't included in my sync selections. In addition,I have several iPhoto libraries and want to copy photos from each of them to the iPad. A further issue is that apparently photos can be synced from only one computer to the iPad -- how would I copy photos from a different computer? (What happens when I buy a new Mac?) I am extremely experienced with Mac, iPhoto/Aperture, iPad, etc. A year or two ago I transferred 1000 photos to the iPad but I don't remember how, and it was probably done with my previous Mac. Now I just want to add some recent photos without deleting the ones that are there. Bottom line: is there a way to add photos to an iPad without syncing and losing what's there?

You can still sync the photos and keep the photos that are already on the device. You have to include all of the albums or events in the pictures folder that you sync from. If you are using iPhoto, select that in the Sync Photos from drop down menu and then select all of the albums or events that you want to sync. Make sure to check Selected Albums, events, faces and automatically include (no events). Using that option will allow you to choose exactly which albums and events to sync.
You have to remember that all photos must be included in every sync so you cannot sync photos from iPhoto today and then try to sync photos from another folder tomorrow, or you will erase all of the photos that were synced from iPhoto. You need to maintain one main Photos syncing folder for the photos that you want to transfer to the iPad. You can have subfolders within that one main folder and you can selectively sync those subfolders. You just have to place all of the photos that you want to sync into one main iPad syncing photos folder.
There are WiFi transfer apps that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad without having to sync with iTunes. I use this one. This app (and others like it) will allow you to use multiple computers to transfer photos.

Such a feature is stored in a cookie. Firefox only keeps one set of cookies for all open tabs. So only the last user is remembered.

I am new to the apple world and i recently bought an iphone 5 and an ipad mini. i am loving using them but i am facing a problem everytime i try to sync media. whenever i upload new stuff its automatically deleting the existing stuff. how do i upload new stuff ( media and pdf's) without deleting the existing ones ??

"Upload"? What does that mean to you? Syncing form iTunes? Is that what you mean? If it is what you mean, you need to select all of the content that you want to sync by setting sync preferences and once you do that, your media should not be deleted every time that you sync.
However if you are referring to Photos as media, Yoy can only sync one folder of photos from your computer at a time. Of you switch to another photos folder, the existing photos on the iPad will be erased.
So if you would explain exactly what you mean and what you are doing, it will be easier to offer a solution.

Today I was wondering about the OS X Mavericks tagging system. Sometimes I try to save a file, such as an image, in the TAGS section of the finder window in Mac OS X. As soon as I do so, because it is not a location rather a search algorithm that searches for files in multiple locations, because the computer to hang. I wanted to ask if you can actually save the file as a tag,and if not then why allow it appear available in the save dialog pop-up window.it appears within the save dialog interface, and so I tried it out various times. My computer just hangs and Finder becomes unusable.my Logic says, it cannot be possible to save the file under tags, unless OS X has programmed itself to save the files and SQL data instead of as an actual file.
This would require database settings and reprogramming into the OS X Mavericks system. I should definitely think about saving files under the tag section,if it is possible, and how one will achieve it as a programmer and developer. It would be an excellent way to file things without any necessity, for knowing where they are. So long as one saves every file with the right tags. Of course one could then save under a main tag and add more tags in the text dialogue interface which pops up when you are saving a file.
Or one could remove it from the save dialogue interface completely, to avoid crashes and confusion.attack is not a particular location but then again neither is a folder really. Both folders and tags are just virtual binary code translated into pixels on the screen. I therefore do not really see any difference between an album, a folder, a photo stream, or attack or I could take very. To the binary system they are just different waysof presenting virtual data in a visual way so that humans can interface with it.but tags can be added to a file as more than one tag. And this allows for multiple terminologies and search filters to be used when searching for a file. It allows for cross reference searching.
Tagging files in OSX is an art and a science, which one must learn and have a very strict regimen with oneself, in order to achieve a truly organized filing system. but, if you truly must of this ought and I strict enough with yourself to organize your tags properly, you can have an extremely powerful way of accessing your data without having to have too many folders and visual interfaces to find them with. This requires that you manually name and tag all of your files of costs which if you work with hundreds of files a day is rather tiresome.
but that is like planting a field of flowers, you must plod along every day until you have thousands of them and it becomes enough to be called a field. Once you have planted plenty, and that means you have created lots of tags, and have the discipline to name every saved file under is relevant tags, then finally, once you have thousands of files, this will become an indispensable way of arranging and searching for your work files

Thanks for input. The price changes occur infrequently - Norton/ Symantec software. Not a lot of sku's to make a database plus page is flowery and does not need to be searched on by the user. Links connect directly to Norton. Now I make the changes on one page and "Save as" to the others but my button links fail. It is curious CS4 would make the change from images of the link in the actual link box in html. In view it works fine but on site buttons are not visible?

How do you delete all occurrences of a recurring event in iCal without deleting them one by one?

These events have no stopping point, and go on into eternity. How do I get them out of iCal without having to delete each one separately? I want to sync with my new iPhone, but don't want these events in my iPhone calendar. They are in my old iPhone when I synced it a couple of years ago. In the iPhone, you have no way to delete or edit these events.

I just had this same problem and successfully deleted ALL event (past and future)instances by :
1. Click on any instance of the event in the calendar
2. Select "Delete" from the iCal toolbar "Edit" menu.
3. The iCal propmt asked me to choose to delete all or just the one instance.
4. Naturally, select to "Delete all occurrences"

SbRIO save file on flash via host

Hi,
I have the follwing problem:
I am using a SB-RIO9632XT.
If the host programm, which operates in realtime shall save some information in a file. Can I use the internal memory on board for this?
My major problem is to save information during operation in a file (on flash, whatever) which allows me to read this information later. Typically after all operations were performed, the sbrio will be switched off. At the next operation I want to keep on writing this file or read it out.
Someone an idea IF this is possible and HOW to realise these steps?
(I am using LabVIEW 8.6)

Can I delete one the 2 exact same files in Finder, without deleting the other one Automatically too?

I have backed up and have removed a User account. since then, I have 1 user account, but all files are duplicate. Instead of having 199GB on my disk, i now have about the double. Ifound some stuff to delete, but there are also apple apps that are double. Can i delete half of them, so that only one copie stays and not both delete?

no obviously not. it's not in the trash if you are worried copy the second copy and change the name to something else. then delete both and after deleting both rename the copy the same as the original.

Deleting files from comp without deleting them for ipod

I have an 80 GB Ipod and a 30 GB PC HDD. I only have about 2-4 GB to work with at any given time on my PC. I want to know if there's a way to clean out files on my PC making room for others without losing them on the Ipod. I tried to just synch the new ones but it erased my other files. I'm glad I tested it first, but I don't know what else to do. I want to use my Ipod to its fullest extent, but I can't delete the programs and files used for school from my PC, so its really limited atm.

Best thing to do is either upgrade your PC's hard drive to a larger one or buy an external drive and keep your library on that.
But to do what you want, you have to switch your iPod from auto sync mode to Manually Manage mode.
In manual mode you can add stuff to the iPod manually (drag and drop from iTunes library onto the iPod icon on the left) without effecting anything already on it. Downside is that you have to manually add or delete content from the iPod and things like play counts, rating you might assign on the iPod, etc. do not get synced back to your library.

I am trying to create a script where the user can initiate a
download/Save/copy of a stored file from my HDD to a flash drive.
It would seem that baCopyProgressFile would be ideal for this
situation, but I am authoring on a Intel MBP and it does not appear
that Buddy API is compatible with Intel Macs at this time. I only
need this projector to display on this MBP (this is really just a
quick proof of concept project that will be run locally), so any
suggestions or alternatives would be very helpful. Thanks.

If you look in the docs for Buddy API, 0 means the operation
succeeded
and 5 means "Couldn't create directory for Dest file"
(suggesting your
destination path is incorrect)
Since you already use Buddy API I suggest you use a
combination of

is your
Flash drive and then use that disk as your root for copying.
