  • ITunes 9 - Home Sharing Settings and Saved Game Data?

The new "Home Sharing Settings" feature to automatically transfer applications from one home computer to another is great. However, it seems like there is a huge omission with this feature if you can't transfer your game settings and saved data when you use this option as a way to change computers to sync an iTouch or iPhone.
Here's my scenario: originally had iTunes on a Windows PC to purchase and sync up my iTouch. Recently bought another iMac and want to use it as my "master" computer to sync up my iTouch. Used the Home Sharing Settings feature to quickly copy all of my songs (with ratings) and apps from the PC to the Mac. Everything great so far.
Purchased a few more apps in the iTunes store on the iMac. Plugged in the iTouch to copy the new apps, but of course it wants to delete everything and start over (to be expected I guess). But with that I assume all of my saved game data in my 50+ apps will be lost!
    Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I've now authorized my laptop with my fiance's itunes account and my personal iTunes account, this is key.
I'm now able to transfer songs from either her laptop or my iMac (where my music is stored for now) as long as the current logged-in Home Sharing account is active. So it's basically like logging into an ftp server, only one connection allowed at a time.
So just turn off Home Sharing and then turn it back on again, re-enter the other systems iTunes account info and there you go, you can transfer from that one now. Of course this would be simpler if you were just merging two computers/accounts instead of adding in a 3rd laptop like my experiment. You should just have to make sure all computers involved (up to 5) are authorized for all the iTunes accounts involved.
And yes using the settings button with in the home sharing window, you should be able to automatically sync any new purchases from the current shared account, music, movies, apps, etc.

  • Saved game data after restore

My iPhone 4 was in the middle of updating to the latest software however halfway through the phone crashed and it went into recovery mode so I had to restore to factory settings. I used the latest backup to restore from like I did when I was moving from my iPhone 3G to iPhone 4 and all the saved game data was moved from one phone to the other. However, after this restore only some games have the saved data. It appears to be the games bought on my iPhone 4 have all the data intact but the ones I bought on iPhone 3G have all started from new.
Any ideas on how I can get back the saved games?

I got an error when trying to update to iOS 4.0.2 and had to restore from my wife's PC.
All my saved game date was no longer there when I re-synced to my PC.
    This is annoying.
Anyone got a solution for easily and reliably backing up and saving "saved game" data. This is going to be a real problem for Apple, because how can I have the confidence to start on a game which has a long campaign, when I can't be confident that my saved game progress can't be lost?

  • Reverting to saved game data?

I'm using an iPhone 5S, version 7.1.1. I am playing the game Dragons: Rise of Berk and spent my in game currency on something and changed my mind. I used iExplorer to save my game data a couple days ago. Can I just load that in and go back to the state of my game from a couple days ago? Do I just replace the game's Documents folder on my phone with the saved one from my computer? Do I risk doing any damage to my game (I still want to be able to play it! ;-)) or my phone itself?

  • Updating iPod Touch Software Version and Apps saved game data

When I transfer my apps from iPod touch to iTunes will it also moved the saved game data like in Zombie Cafe, Amateur  Surgeon 2 so on and so fort? Because I want to update my software version...

No.  Transferring the app to the computer only transfers the app itself. not app data.  App dat is stored in the iPod backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the a sync and of an update.  Therefore, I would do one last sync of the iPod before restoring and ensure that the backup gets made.  You can check by going to the Devices tab in iTunes' Preferences and looking at the date of the backup.  Also, make sure your apps are in your iTunes library since the apps themselves are not in the backup but are synced to the iPod at the end of the update.

How can I transfer saved games data (smurf, bakery story, etc) from iPhone 3GS to iPad mini retina? I have a reached in a very high levels at all these games I choose iPad for continuing  played all my saved games in the bigger screen of iPad. Please send step by step the way I can transfer them at the levels I have reached.

I have installed all the games from my iPhone 3GS at my iPad mini retina throw iCloud. I did what iTunes suggest but when I open the game start from the beginning. For example all the games of team lava company like farm story 2 bakery home design etc I have register and I took storm ID and I have reached in a big level that some times cost money to change level or to buy gems to continue the games.
I am very angry because before I bought this iPad they told me that I could played my games in a big screen of iPad and this as I can see is nit possible. Apple send me details that didn't help me and everything suggest me is not working.
I fell stupid because I spend my money in an apple product that isn't what I want and the information I have throw apple are fake

  • How can I restore single saved game data?

So I recently updated Infinity Blade 2 with the new update that just came out. However, this wiped my saved game.
However, my phone does iCloud backups, and I noticed that the saved game data was backed up previously.
Is there a way for me to restore the game and get my saved game back? I can see the saves but I don't know how to get them back!

I don't know if Macroplant's iExplorer application would help here, but I've posted details on how to back up and restore individual game data (achievements, scores, etc.) for future reference.

  • Many apps dont run properly on iOS 5 and I have lost some saved game data.

After upgrading to iOS 5, some of the games( ice age: dawn of the dinosaurs(chillingo inc.), Icy Escort(Donut games)) doent run properly. In ice age, sometimes the sondtrack doesnt run properly, it gets stuck in the middle, and starts repeating itself again and again after very short periods and in icy escort, sometimes there is stange flashing. Another game, Kick buttowski: Loco Launcho(disney mobile), my whole save data got erased. I also use a iPhone and i had downloaded ice age for iPhone, later put it inti my iPad 2. Therefore, its only for iPhone. Other apps are universal. I have also updated my iphone to iOS 5 but restored it from my iPad backup. In iPhone, Ice age runs fine but Kick buttowski save data is also erased. I updated my iPhone after updating my iPad. Please help.

Agreed! This bug with the ringtone delay (№4.1) is really annoying

  • Transferring saved game data iPhone to iPad

I browsed around to see if this has been asked, but a lot of the threads were older and didn't pertain to my devices.
I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 both not jail-broken. I had a game called My Town 2 on both that I could use back and forth whenever I wanted to, and it let me play the exact same game without starting a new one on the other. Which was nice to do when I was out and about, since my iPad only connects with a wifi connection.
Yesterday I idiotically deleted the game from the iPad, and when I went to re-install it, it started from scratch, I do however still have the same game and my progress on the iPhone.
I checked around to find ways to transfer the game and its data from the iPhone to iPad. So far iExplorer didn't work, ifunbox seems easier to navigate but I don't know what to look for or where to save it. Phone Disk needs to be purchased and iTunes requires you to restore. There's got to be a way right?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

If the game was syncing your progress between devices, it should continue to do so once you have the game properly installed and registered on your iPad again. You might need to "log in" or otherwise let the game's server know that it's you and your account on that device.
You might care to contact the developer of the game for advice. I doubt your the first one of their customers to encounter this issue.

  • Saving Game Data

At the current moment, is there a way to transfer data on a game I have to another iPod touch/iPhone/iPad? For example, If I had unlocked the last level on Comet Racer, could I get a new iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad and keep that level unlocked on the new device? Whether I have to use a special app to save the data or via an internet website, I don't really care how.

Restore your new iPod/iPhone from the backup or your current iPod/iPhone.
With iPhone OS 2.0 and later, the backup saves App Store Application data (except the Application itself, its tmp and Caches folder).

If you upgrade or otherwise replace your device with a newer device, you may be able to restore the previous backup to the new device...You can upgrade one device with the backup from a different type of device; most settings will transfer to the new device.

  • Transfering game data between devices.

I just bought an iPhone 4S. I have had an iPod Touch 4G for a few months now and have a bunch of games (Angry Birds, Temple Run, Amazing Breaker, etc) with tons of saved data. I was able to sync my iPod to my iTunes to get all my apps on to my iPhone, but there is no saved game data on my iPhone now. Do I just have to replay the games all the way or is there a way to get that saved data on to my iPhone?

Yes, but you can import the photos from your iPhone's Camera Roll with your computer before doing so as with any other digitial camera. Follow this by transferring the photos from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
You can sync the contacts on your iPhone with a supported address book app on your computer where such important data should be available. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for your contacts which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair.
Before syncing your iPhone contacts with a supported address book app on your computer that is not being used and includes no contact info, enter one contact in the address book app on your computer. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.
After doing these steps, you can restore your iPhone from the backup for your iPod Touch followed by syncing contacts with the address book app on your computer and transferring the photos/videos imported from your iPhone's Camera Roll back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process.

  • How do i transfer game data to a new computer?

I am moving in to a new laptop and want to transfer everything to it.  I can move music and videos, photos and apps.  I want to keep my iPod setup the same way (preferences and folders) as well as keep my saved game data.  I was able to download past apps from the iTunes store as past purchases, but this does not restore my game saves for apps.  How do I transfer these two forms of information so I can stop using my first computer?

    - Make sure the computer is authorized for the accounts used on the iPod.
    - After everything is on the new computer, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clciking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. The backup contains app data and oother things by not synced items like apps themselves, music, psynced photos.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.

  • Very Extensive Gunner Z game data deleted? Included In-App purchases

My IOS game app, Gunner Z by Bitmonster, is no longer able to retrieve my very extensive saved game data which included literally over a year of play and several In-App purchases. This disappearance of my data did not follow any update to the game itself or the IOS System software. I was merely loading the game back onto my iPad 3 IOS 7.0.4 after I had to remove some of these larger apps to make room. I had my iPad set to do automatic backups from my iPad of my data including Gunner Z once every few days. Over more than a year that I used the app initially, I never had an issue restoring my game data. All I want is to have my data restored. I had cleared all the levels, had purchased the golden weapons upgrade, the Ceramic Armor upgrade, and had achievements and stats mirroring my roommates info .
Thank you for any assistance you can lend,

    Hi
My situation is similar to Darkendart, however I did not delete the game. I went to play it without having my wifi enabled, and as I believe this game requires wifi to save data. So I was directed to the tutorial. I realized my mistake and therefore closed the app and minimized it (double tapping home button) and reopened it with wifi enabled. The game stated that I had logged in with another device, and therefore must continue with its recent save. After restarting the app many times, it always came up with this message, so I went with it to see if it worked. Of course, I was directed to the tutorial and all of my data was gone, without the option of bringing it back. Although I had made no in-app purchases, I did have approximately 600 000 saved up cash and had proceeded well in the campaign, and I would very much like it back if possible (my trucks were called Kevin, Leroy, Clyde, Barbara and Gareth, all done up well - who wouldnt want THAT back) . My icloud data was up to date as well....
Thank you in advance for seeing to this issue and assisting me

  • How can I transfer saved games to my iPad?

I have an old iPod Touch and just bought an iPad 2.  I'm able to transfer the apps to my iPad, but I can't seem to transfer the progress from games to it.  Can I transfer saved game data to the iPad so that I don't have to start the games from scratch?
I'm not looking at playing the games on both devices - just starting the games on the iPad from where I left off on the iPod Touch.

You could try restoring from the backup of the touch. If you restore the iPad from the backup of the iPod Touch these items will restore. The bold type bullet points (I made the type bold) indicate what you may be hoping to recover. If you restore from the backup, you still need to sync apps, music, vieos, photos etc., onto the iPad however.

  • IPhone   iTunes = deleted save game data?

I sync'd my iPhone 3gs with iTunes for the first time.  When it was finished, all of my apps and games were gone from my iPhone, so I reloaded them from the "Purchased" section of iTunes.  When I opened any of my games, I started from the beginning on ALL of them, and all of my in-app purchases were gone.  Where did they go, and much more importantly, how do I get them back?

Saved game data from non-web-based apps are saved in backups. Revert to a backup in iTunes. Smurf village stores the game progression on their servers. just make sure you know your login.
