Saving file object to current Directory.

Ok I did a file transfer thing, after I receive the file object, how do I save it to the current directory?
Thanks.

This saves an empty file.It's up to you to put data in it. I have no idea where your data is coming from.
I wanna save the file and the contents to the current
directory.What contents?
Any ideas?Look at the OutputStream and Reader interfaces in the API.

  • Ctxload can't find a file in the current directory

    I am trying to load a thesaurus file using ctxload. The file is in the current directory. I can use a text editor to modify it. But ctxload always complains that "file not found." Why?

    I have the latest iTunes version and haven't seen that feature.
    From the iTunes menu bar you will find it at iTunes>Provide iTunes Feedback.
    It is also on the main iPod +iTunes page. Click on the iPod + iTunes tab at the top of this page and look near the bottom, its in small type with a pencil icon next to it.
    Hope this helps.

  • JFileChooser: changing file type resets current directory

    I create a JFileChooser with multiple file types and set the current directory. It comes up with the first file type and the current directory. If I select another file type, the files shown are not in the current directory, which I set -- they are files in the application default directory. Is there a way to keep my current directory, while changing the file type? Or is this a feature?

    Are you talking about your own CDs imported to iTunes or are you talking about songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store (iTMS)? If the latter, the iTMS, you do not get any choice in the format downloaded. You get protected AAC files and that is all.
    If you want to change how you import files, go to the iTunes preferences for importing and choose the format you want to use from now on.

  • Saving a file in a specified directory

    I have this network-application where I ask new users to enter their information. I want to be able to store this information in a file under that user's username. I want to make the directory for the user at my server and save the file inside that directory. I have tried several things but nothing have worked so far... Any ideas as to how I can create a directory from within a java program and save a file in that directory?
    Thanks,

    1. Create a File object for the directory
    2. Create the directory on the filesystem with File.mkdir()
    3. Write to a file in the directory.

  • Saving File - zip problem?

    If i use this set of coding, i can receive the file and the bytes and save it to the current directory, with the zip file, it just creates the file without saving the bytes, anyone knows what is wrong? Is there another way to go abt saving file objects to the current directory which includes all types of files?
    File file = new File("folder/Access.java");
              boolean flag = file.exists();
              System.out.println(flag);
              try
                                       FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(file.getName());
                   FileInputStream is = new FileInputStream(file);
                   long length = file.length();
                   if (length > Integer.MAX_VALUE) {
                // File is too large
            byte[] bytes = new byte[(int)length];
                  int offset = 0;
            int numRead = 0;
            while (offset < bytes.length
                   && (numRead=is.read(bytes, offset, bytes.length-offset)) >= 0) {
                offset += numRead;
            if (offset < bytes.length) {
                throw new IOException("Could not completely read file "+file.getName());
            is.close();
            //return bytes;
            fos.write(bytes);
              }catch(IOException e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
              }Most code sample comes from javaalmanac.com.

    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(file.getName());This gets an output stream to a file named Access.java in the current directory. However your first line of code suggests you might have expected to write to Access.java in the current directory's subdirectory named folder. If that is actually what you want, then try this instead:FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(file);PC&#178;

  • Publish a file to a different directory.

    I've seen other questions similar to mine on the forums but haven't found an answer.  My site has a newsletter archive that links to all of our past newslettters.  The newsletters are just html files saved from emails we send out.
    To keep things organized, the newsletters are grouped by year, so all 2010 newsletters are saved in the 2010 directory.  However, when I add the newsletter using the Link to File on My Computer, it adds the newsletter html file to the current directory.
    Is there any way, without using an outside FTP program, to upload the newsletter to the 2010 directory and then link to it from the main newsletter archive page?  I can't use the administer->file placement option because the rule  only applies to this specific upload. This seems like it should be an obvious, simple thing, but I'm stumped.

    Hi,
         As of now I do not think this is possible in Contribute. But there can be a work-around.Can you try the following steps:
    When you edit a web page, add the links to the files in your computer.
    Do Publish As New Page (File -> Actions -> Publish As New Page), and select the Folder in which you want to publish your pages to, by clicking the Choose Folder button.
    The web page and all the files from your computer will be published to that folder.
    Now, re-edit the published web page with the links, and Publish As New Page to the original folder in which the web page was present.
    This is a long workaround, where you will be publishing the web page twice. Hope this helps.

  • Telling ID CS5 to seek a linked file in the current folder

    For at least 5 years (and all the versions of ID), I've been unable to set up a link on text or a graphic that, when clicked, will open another PDF, because I want Acrobat Reader to look for the new PDF file in the same folder/directory as the current PDF.
    For all those years, my workaround has been to create the PDF and then in Acrobat use the Link tool (Tools > Advanced Editing > Link Tool) to select a rectangle over the text or graphic and set up a link to the file in the current directory. When I do the link this way, then save the PDF, then move the PDF to a different computer, Acrobat Reader can find the file in the current directory, even though the explicit path in the link is to a directory that does not exist on this second computer.
    So, today, I thought I'd see whether ID CS5 now sets up what I want. I selected some text, selected New Hyperlink from the Hyperlinks menu, told it I wanted to open a file. I have tried two seperate ways to describe the file, neither of which allows Acrobat Reader to correctly find the file:
    I browsed to the file (mnd.pdf) in the current directory where both the x.indd file is and the x.pdf file will be. When I take the finished x.pdf file to a new computer and click on the link, Reader puts up an error it cannot find the file, and it names the explicit path from the first computer (which intentionally does not exist on the second computer).
    I typed in ".\mnd.pdf" as the standard notation meaning to look in the current directory. In this case, Reader on the second computer does not put up an error, but no file opens. Basically, nothing happens when I click on the link (except for the warning asking me wheher I want to allow this operation).
    Bottom line questions: How can I set up a link in ID CS5 that will always look for a file named "MND.pdf" and always in the same directory as the currently open PDF? I know I can make it happen in Acrobat 9, but it's inefficient to have to set up the link every time I re-create a PDF instead of once in the InDesign file.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi, Jongware,
    It is a bug since CS4, agravated in CS5, because until CS3 it worked very well.
    In fact, it worked through out a lot of pages. I think this was not created only to pages side-by-side but in fact to those articles that continued several pages ahead. So, in a magazine, when one has to break an article and continue this article in other page, one could (and still can) put a text frame in the of the first part of the article and type "Continue on [next page marker]". Then link this text frame with a new text frame on the page where the article continues, (on top of 2nd part of the article) and type "Continued from [previous page marker]".
    This situation – where text frames are in the document pages – still works fine.
    The problem is when this is a constant and you want to put it in master pages, and now it simply does't work. I mean, when every odd or even pages have both numbers. For me, it's a major problem, because several of my clients just love this!
    Is anyone of Adobe reading this? Are you going to help us and fix this problem, please?...

  • How to link javascript files in myApp.app directory in IOS from html file in app StorageDirectory

    I'm using Adobe Air 3 for IOS offline app, and I want to implement a download updates (html files + js,css) feature from within the application. The files would be displayed in a StageWebView component.
    Since Apple doesn't allow saving files inside the installation directory, I must use ApplicationStorageDirectory instead to download files into.
    I want those download html files to link to .js / .css files already installed within the main application directory (e.g. at myApp.app).
    The reason for that is I want to minimize the number of the downloaded (shared) files as much as possible. Is this possible?
    Thank you.

    I think this doesn't work in StageWebView:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f7e64a7f12cd2dd1867-8000.html#WS901 d38e593cd1bac354f4f7b12e260e3e67-8000
    "Note: Links in a StageWebView instance cannot open URLs that use a custom URI scheme."
    So I can't for example do this:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="app:/CSS/Templates.css" type="text/css" media="screen, mobile" title="main" charset="utf-8">
    What I need is something like the following:
    Inside ApplicationStoarageDirectory (/Library/Application Support/):
         test.html
    I need it to link to a css file located inside ApplicationDirectory (installation directory), something like:
         <link rel="stylesheet" href="../../MyApp.app/CSS/Templates.css" type="text/css" media="screen, mobile" title="main" charset="utf-8">

  • Current Directory ? How?

    I finally got the applet sign and got the certification to work... thanks to ncoleman1.
    As my java code consists of :-
    ip = new FileReader("clue.txt");
    run together with a java.policy stored in c:\windows and certification ask for permission to grant/deny but consists of error message java.io.FileNotFoundException:clue.txt (The system cannot find the file specified)
    But
    ip = new FileReader("c:\\windows\\desktop\\test\\clue.txt");
    the applet can run and display the data in clue.txt on the screen and I think it bypass the certification as it didn't ask for permission to grant / deny as I always select "grant this session only".
    I just want the applets to run and look the file in the current directory where the html is stored. As I always stored all files in one directory.
    Can help?

    The directory where the HTML is stored? That would be on the same server where the applet was loaded from, would it not? In other words, on some other machine. If you want to get clue.txt from that directory, you must get it from the server via HTTP.

  • How to get the Current Directory

    Hi,
    I need to tell the system to read a file in my current directory. How do I tell the system what the current Directory Path is
    Thankx in advance...

    It depends on the current working directory from which you start your JVM.
    From DOS or UNIX shell this is the directory where you have come by "cd".
    On Windows you can do the same from Explorer or other file managers: the directory where you are when starting JVM.exe.
    If you define shortcuts - e.g. on the desktop -, you specify it there as the "working directory".
    You can retrieve this directory by
    System.getProperty( "user.dir" )
    Now with File classes:
    Each file name without path will be interpreted as being in this directory.
    Absolute paths are clear.
    But you can't mix this:
    If you specify "test/debug.ini" or "test\\debug.ini" from debug directory: false!
    If you specify "../debug.ini" or "..\\debug.ini" from debug/test directory: false!
    Do it this way:
    Start from debug directory.
    So you can access file debug/test/debug.ini as
    System.getProperty( "user.dir" ) + "/test/debug.ini"
    Works?

  • Why are files in Firefox 33 cache directory different size than saved files on desktop

    In previous versions of Firefox I used the cache directory to extract videos, flash files and hidden images, that were not saved in folder and a HTML Document file on desktop. For Example the opening image of a YouTube Video can not be extracted and saved from Firefox but is stored in the cache directory.
    To find these files without going through them one at a time, I would copy the cache folder on a desktop folder and then use Double Killer to delete the same size files in both the cache and the saved files in the desktop file folder. The files that are left behind in the cache folder are those that did not save to the desktop file and folder. I can then double check to see if I can find the videos, flash or images from the remaining files.
    I have updated to Firefox 30.0.3. The problem now is that the files in the cache are different in KB size from the saved files on the desktop folder. The dimensions of a saved image are the same but the size of the file differ. Now I can not use Double Killer to delete files and have to go through the whole cache directory one by one to find files that were not saved.
    Why did the Firefox developers changed the cache directory? Do I need to revert to a previous version of Firefox or is there a way that I can change the cache directory of Firefox 33.0.3 and the size that it stores files.
    Would also like to know what add-on gives the best quality screenshot with flash.
    Thanks for this support. Apart from this cache problem I find Firefox easy to use and the best web browser.

    Current Firefox 32+ releases use a new cache service named Cache2 and this cache service works differently.
    Files in the cache2 folder are special files that also store the meta data apart from the actual file data that you see on the about:cache page if you click an item.
