Saving search criteria in table

Hi All,
How to save search criteria in the table instead of saving in the weblogic domain?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards
Kaushik Gopalakrishnan

See if you can achieve using hints mentioned in the following posts -
save a search for a user in adf
(Specifically "create a table in which you store user customizations identified by the use login name. On any page that has such personalization, query the table and obtain the query conditions. Then set the query parameters on the iterator (where clause or bind variables) and execute the query by calling execute on the method binding (operation binding)") OR

  • Need info on database based saved search in ADF

    Hi All,
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.6
    i have implemented database based saved search in my adf application.
    But after implementing it i am facing more performance related issues in my application.
    The page takes lot of time to load along with the previously saved results. Sometime the page is not responding even after a loading the results.
    Is there any option such that, i can save only the search criteria's alone instead of saving the result also for each saved searches.
    I assume ADF is querying separately for each saved search criteria's which is taking lot of time to load initially. So restricting this auto query will help to load the page quickly.
    some one please tell me ideally how ADF will behave in saved search and how to implement saved search based on DB without any performance issue.
    Regards
    Siva

    We are also encountering the same . Once we save criterias and set any of the saved criterias as default, then its not allowing us to select any other criterias or personalize existing criterias.
    we are using ADF 11.1.1.5 And we implemented saved search using accross sessions and storing the values in MDS by Running RCU in EM

  • Unable to create Table Bean advanced search criteria

    Hi,
    I want to create new search criteria for advanced search region. The reason being new search criteria i tried to add by personalization it didnt worked may be guessing construction mode is autocustomization mode. Somewhere i have seen if resultsbased it will work. Can someone confirm on this??

    1) Search panel textinput item should be search allowed true and prompt is need. no other property need to set.
    HERE YOU DONT WANT TO SET VIEW INSTANCE AND ATTRIBUTE SINCE WE ARE DOING FOR EXTENDED VO ITEM AS SEARCH ITEM.THAT'S OK. I TRIED WITH YOUR COMMENTS FOR TEXTINPUT ITEM TOO.
    Comment--
    textinput item created is a simple item without any VO instance , etc.
    There is no question of extended VO item, its a simple textinput item.
    value in this field is going to compare with the values in result table.
    2) Search mapping, only search item id and result item id need to set.
    I'M DOING HERE MAPPING FOR ABOVE SEARCH ITEM ID AND RESULT ITEM ID
    Comment-- Perfect !!
    3) Item created in table , after you extended Vo, view instance and attribute needs to set.
    WHERE DO YOU WANT THIS TO BE SET?? CAN YOU ELABORATE THIS MORE PLEASE.MAY BE I'M MISSING HERE SOMETHING.
    Comment-- you must have created message styled text item in adv table bean, assign VO instance and attribute to it, right?
    4) One more thing Parag, do i need to include where clause for extended VO item in view object??
    for ex:
    where attribute(this is extended vo item)=:4
    Comment-- No need. this will be handled by point#2 above, i.e. criteria and result items.

  • Had a Search Criteria and the result as table in header.Wanted to bind the result table to bean for the key value access

      Had Search Criteria and the result is displayed in the table in a panel header .  I want to get the selected  row value and parse the value to next Vo in next page for a bind variable . So i need to handle the  tbale value by biniding to the bean , but there was no option to bind the table for a bean.So how can i get the value selected .
    Regards,
    K M Krishna.

    First of all tell us your jdev version, please.
    to get to the selected row you don't need to bind the table to a managed bean. You can e.g. drag the needed attributes from the VO onto the page and drop them as inputText components. the Framework then generated the attribute bindings and sets the values of the current row to them. As you don't really need the inputText components switch to source mode (!this is essential!) and remove them. This will remove the visual component but the attribute bindings are kept.
    Know you can access the values via their EL or like you get the value from an attribute via it's binding.

  • How to search in a table according to search criteria for many fields ??

    Hello all,
    I required any suggestion regarding easy method for searching a table according to search criteria.
    I have 7 dropdown list in the userinterface and user can select 1 dropdown or many according to his choice. After selecting 1 or many dropdown list when he clicks SEARCH button the related records for filled dropdown list should be displayed if present in table. But the problem is that its getting complecated as I have to code for 7 dropdown list. many combinations comes in the way.
    So can anybody  tell me that how to getrid of this complicated process and is there any easy method for this...??
    thanks,
    Simadri

    Hi.,
    It wont get complicated.,  try this.,
    Let us say you have 3 drop down lists., for ID, Name , Priority., now in OnActionSearch.,
    DATA:RT_RANGES_ID TYPE RANGE OF ZDE_ID,  " Data Element for ID
              RS_RANGES_ID LIKE LINE OF RT_RANGES_ID,
              RT_RANGES_NAME TYPE RANGE OF ZDE_NAME, " Data Element for Name
              RS_RANGES_NAME LIKE LINE OF RT_RANGES_NAME,
              RT_RANGES_PRI TYPE RANGE OF ZDE_PRIORITY, " Data Element for Priority
              RS_RANGES_PRI LIKE LINE OF RT_RANGES_PRI.
    *Read the Values in Drop down List using get_attribute( ).
    now.,
    *Appending ID to Range Table
    if  lv_id is not initial.                              " here lv_id is the drop down value in Drop Down List for ID
       RS_RANGES_ID-OPTION = 'EQ'.
        RS_RANGES_ID-LOW    =  lv_id.    " appending ID
        RS_RANGES_ID-SIGN   = 'I'.
        APPEND RS_RANGES_ID TO RT_RANGES_ID.
    endif.
    if  lv_name is not initial.
       RS_RANGES_Name-OPTION = 'EQ'.
        RS_RANGES_NAME-LOW    =  lv_name.    " appending Name
        RS_RANGES_NAME-SIGN   = 'I'.
        APPEND RS_RANGES_NAME TO RT_RANGES_NAME.
    endif.
    if  lv_priority is not initial.
      RS_RANGES_PRI-OPTION = 'EQ'.
        RS_RANGES_PRI-LOW    =  lv_priority.   " appending Priority
        RS_RANGES_PRI-SIGN   = 'I'.
        APPEND RS_RANGES_PRI TO RT_RANGES_PRI.
    endif.
    * Fetching Values for Selction Criteria
    Select  * from <TABLE> into lt_int_tab where ID IN RT_RANGES_ID
                                                                     AND NAME IN RT_RANGES_NAME
                                                                     AND PRIORITY IN RT_RANGES_PRI.
    similarly You do for your 7 Drop Downs..
    hope this helps u.,

  • Get search criteria from query panel with table

    hi guys,
    i have a query panel with table that i created from a VO.
    i use the all queryable attribute in the generated DataControl.
    i hv a requirement to update the database value with the same search criteria with the query panel.
    but i want the submitted search criteria, not only written in the query panel criteria.
    i'm using JDEV & BPM 11.1.1.6
    i've already tried to get the criteria using
    QueryModel queryModel = getQueryPanel().getModel();
    QueryDescriptor queryDescriptor = queryModel.getSystemQueries().get(0);
    ConjunctionCriterion cc = queryDescriptor.getConjunctionCriterion();
    for(int i=0;i<cc.getCriterionList().size();i++){
         AttributeCriterion ac = (AttributeCriterion)cc.getCriterionList().get(i);
         System.out.println("DEBUG LABEL : " + ac.getAttribute().getLabel());
         System.out.println("DEBUG VALUE : " + ac.getValues().get(0));
    }        but it only get the value that filled in the search criteria input text, not the criteria that already been searched and viewed in the table
    my other question is, can i override the search button function ? so i can add a custom method to save the search criteria to my temporary variable.
    thanks

  • ADF : af:query saved search issue

    hi
    Please consider this example application from Andrejus Baranovskis
    http://jdevsamples.googlecode.com/files/UserCustomizationsSession.zip
    (which he refers to from his blog post "User Customizations for Duration of Session in Oracle ADF 11g")
    I see some strange behaviour with a saved search in this scenario:
    (a1) open the UserCustomizationsSession.jws file in JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 and configure the "Hr" database connection in the Application Resources panel
    (a2) right-click the main.jspx page in the ViewController project and click Run
    (a3) on the "Index" page click the "Employees" button
    (a4) on the "Employees Form" page, without entering any search values, click the "Search" button, which causes (all) the rows to show in the table
    (a5) in the "Firstname" search field, enter "a" and click the "Search" button, which causes rows with "a" in their first name to show in the table
    (a6) click the "Save..." button
    (a7) in the "Create Saved Search" dialog, enter "my-a-search" in the "Name" field and keep the default values for the checkboxes ("Set as Default" checked, "Run Automatically" checked and "Save Results Layout" unchecked) and click "OK", which causes "my-a-search" to show up in the "Saved Search" dropbox
    (a8) click the "Close" button
    (a9) on the "Index" page click the "Employees" button, which causes the "Employees Form" page to show up with the results of "my-a-search"
    (a10) in the "Saved Search" dropbox, select "EmployeesViewCriteria" and click the "Search" button, which seems to cause the table to refresh but still showing what seems to be the result of "my-a-search"
    (a11) try to change the value of the "FirstName" search field or use the "Reset" button, each time the result of "my-a-search" shows up
    question
    (q1) Why don't I get all the rows in step (a10) instead of just "my-a-search"?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Hi Jan,
    seems related to bug 8817108 - AF:QUERY DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY WITH MUTIPLE VIEW CRITERIA
    I'm copying below an except of the SR with possible workarounds:
    The key point in the modified testcase is that we created a method in the
    Application Module that resets the View Criteria of the View Object:
        public void unapplyViewCriteria() {
            String[] allVC = getViewObj1().getAllViewCriteriaNames();
            for (String vc: allVC )  {
                System.out.println("Unapply View Criteria: " + vc);
                getViewObj1().removeApplyViewCriteriaName(vc);
        }This method was published as a client interface and added to the bindings of
    the Page definition (by a drag&drop from the DataControl palette):
        <methodAction id="unapplyViewCriteria" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
                      Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="unapplyViewCriteria"
                      IsViewObjectMethod="false" DataControl="AppModuleDataControl"
                      InstanceName="AppModuleDataControl.dataProvider"/>This created a button that we updated as the following:
            <af:commandButton
                              text="Go To Other Page AND Unapply View Criteria"
                              disabled="#{!bindings.unapplyViewCriteria.enabled}"
                              id="cb1"
                              actionListener="#{bindings.unapplyViewCriteria.execute}"
                              action="otherpage"/>This button will execute unapplyViewCriteria() and then navigate to the other page.
    That's a first solution, where we unset the View Criteria just when navigating.
    Another option is to unapply the ViewCriteria when the af:query has completed its query.
    This can be done by the method we exposed in the aforementioned Note.
    The method processQuery() in the backing bean is:
        public void processQuery(QueryEvent queryEvent) {
             * add your PreQuery code here
             * invoke the real processQuery
            invokeMethodExpression("#{bindings.NameStartsWithMQuery.processQuery}",
                                   Object.class, QueryEvent.class, queryEvent);
             * add your PostQuery code here
            // Workaround for Bug 8817108
            BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
            OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("unapplyViewCriteria");
            Object result = operationBinding.execute();
        }where we first execute the standard processQuery, and then unapply the View Criteria.
    If memory serves me well, customer opted for WA 2.
    Regards,
    Didier.

  • Af:query with bind variables and Saved Search

    I have a VO and view criteria(VC).
    VC has a criteria item ObsoleteDate with range specified as bindVariables "dateFrm" and "dateTo" I dragged & dropped the named criteria as af:Query with table. Table toolbar has 2 buttons in which I set & clear the bind variables. Data is fetched as per as expected based on the VC & bind variables.
    The problem is,
    If I save my search with bind variables set and swap between the saved searches , all works fine. But the moment I clear bind variables & swap between searches.. "dateFrm" is populated and "dateTo" is null and I get an Exception oracle.jbo.AttrValException: JBO-27035: Attribute Obsolete Date: is required.
    Why is this happening?? Saved search is supposed to save the VC with all the bind values set while saving and clearing bind variables shouldn't affect the saved search, right?? Or I have understood it wrong?
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    Thanks

  • Query Region (autoCustomizationCriteria) search criteria issue

    Hi All,
    In my search page I have used a Query Region with Construction Mode as autoCustomizationCriteria. Fot this regionin in Simple search panel I have 3 dropdowns and 2 Date Fields(OAMessageDateFieldBean) which in turn are mapped with related simpleSearchMappings fields.
    On this page , for search result table as table actions i have a create button which transfers me to create page. On create page I have the same dropdowns and date fields which are there on search page as search criteria.
    Now when i create a record , on click of create button records gets created and controls returns back to the search page with this newly created record in the search result table.(by default whenever search page is rendered it shows all records)
    The problem here is the search criteria dropdown and date fields gets populated with the values with which a new record was created .
    Why these values are getting populated as the page is difference and whenever the VO is querried I am already clearing its cache?
    Any suggestions regarding this ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anant Nimbalkar.

    Hi RamKumar,
    I have tried not to retain the AM and it worked but now there is a different problem.
    On create page on click of save button the record gets saved and related message is displayed on search page. (Used to work before i made retail AM flag false)
    But now as i have set it to false I am unable to show these messages on the Search page .
    Any idea how both these things ie dropdown with no values(on search page) and message can be achieved ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anant Nimbalkar.

  • How to add a new  search criteria in Advance Search Page in OAF

    HI,
    In my application (R12) we can access customer related information from 2 places (2 different responsibilities as mentioned below), both are OAF pages.
    1. AX receivables
    2. Sales online
    From both the responsibilities we can perform search for customer related information as well (Simple as well as Advance Search).
    But Advance Search screen from 'Sales online' allows user to perform search, based on few additional fields as well such as 'Classification' (it's an lov based field).
    Now, User is asking to add that field on search page of AX receivables as well.
    So, how to add one more field (as search criteria), on an standard 'Customer' screen?
    Additional Info :
    1. LOV is based on HzPuiClassificationFilterVO
    2. And this VO is available on both pages. (oracle.apps.ar.hz.components.search.server.HzPuiClassificationFilterVO)
    So can we achieve this by Personalization only ? if yes plz share the steps as well.
    Regards,
    Adi

    Yes. It is possible through personalization.
    1. Create a criteria row under Advance Search
    2. Create a Result Item under advance table columns
    3. Create a Query Criteria Map based on the criteria and result item above.
    Please note the newly added criteria field should be in the Searchresults VO attributes list.
    Otherwise you need to extend the VO as well.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    -Mukesh.

  • How to implement Quick Query and Saved Searches in ADF?

    We are using 11gR2 ADF.
    The requirement is to enable Quick Search and save the Searches.
    In the Oracle ADF documentation, it is mentioned that
    - Create a view with view criteria named.
    - In the .jspx drag and drop the view criteria and Select Quick Query
    Upon doing the above, we see that a Search panel is getting created, but with a message 'No Search Fields Added'.
    In the named view criteria, Under 'UI Hints' we have set
    -- execution mode as Both
    -- Search region mode is Basic
    -- Show Operators in Basic
    Under 'Criteria Definition'
    the attributes are added in a group with OR condition.
    Thanks for your reply. Oracle ADF developer guide does not help!!
    If you have any other documentation that helps in implementing this Quick Query and Saved Search, your help is greatly appreciated.

    Set the following on your af:query component
    SaveQueryMode = hidden
    ModeChangeVisible = false
    This should work for you ..

  • Error while trying to search in advanced table with hide/show region

    Hi
    I have search region and a results table with a hide.show in it.I did a search initially and got the results.I clicked on the hide/show region to see the details.
    I put another search criteria in the search region and tried to do a search.
    I am getting the following error
    The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost...
    Can anybody help me on this please....

    Any setter/getter method being used on hide/show action? How are you enabling the details? Is there a transient column in your VO?

  • Searching Criteria to find out the friends of friend

    Senior DBA'S
    i need to make database where i need to search the person from the current user. Current user can have many friends in his friend list but whom current user searching may be he is not a friend of current user and find out how current user known to that person. Like a friend's Chain.
    Suppose that i m Aman finding out "San". my friends are Abhi, johan, satish etc,
    further abhi's friend is "San" and
    Satish is friend of Mohan, Mohan further friend of Sanju and Sanju will be friend of "San"
    so "Aman" known to "San" by two ways one way by Abhi and 2nd way by Satish. Like link will be
    Aman -> Abhi -> San
    Aman -> Satish -> Mohan -> Sanju -> San
    which way i am asking that is used by linkedin (www.linkedin.com)
    So, Please tell me what best searching criteria will be used to achieve the target with performance because Records can be in billions.

    should be like that
    create table PALS (
    pal_id number primary key ,
    Name varchar2(100));
    drop table FRIENDS;
    create table FRIENDS(
    pal_id number ,
    friend_id number ,
    primary key(pal_id , friend_id),
    foreign key (pal_id) references PALS(pal_id),
    foreign key (friend_id) references PALS(pal_id)
    insert into pals values (1,'A');
    insert into pals values (2,'B');
    insert into pals values (3,'C');
    insert into pals values (4,'D');
    insert into pals values (5,'E');
    insert into pals values (6,'F');
    insert into pals values (7,'G');
    insert into friends values (1,2);
    insert into friends values (1,3);
    insert into friends values (2,5);
    insert into friends values (5,7);
    insert into friends values (3,4);
    insert into friends values (4,6);
    insert into friends values (6,7);
    commit;
    -- find leads to G
    with PF as (
    select p.pal_id, p.name, f.friend_id, pf.name friend
    from pals p
    join friends f on p.pal_id=f.pal_id
    join pals pf on pf.pal_id=f.friend_id)
    select level, pf.name, pf.friend
    from PF
    connect by prior pal_id = friend_id start with friend='G';
         LEVEL NAME       FRIEND
             1 E          G
             2 B          E
             1 F          G
             2 D          F
             3 C          D          then you have to unwrap it in application.
    May be it is possible in SQL also.

    I've found how to do it
    with PF as (
    select p.pal_id, p.name, f.friend_id, pf.name friend
    from pals p
    join friends f on p.pal_id=f.pal_id
    join pals pf on pf.pal_id=f.friend_id),
    W as (
    select level, pf.name, pf.friend,
    CONNECT_BY_ROOT name R,
    SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH(friend,' -> ') P,
    CONNECT_BY_ISLEAF IsLeaf
    from PF
    connect by pal_id = prior friend_id start with name='A'
    select R || P P from W where IsLeaf=1 and friend='G';
    P
    A -> B -> E -> G
    A -> C -> D -> F -> G  Edited by: Mark Malakanov (user11181920) on Jan 10, 2013 11:28 AM
