Saving users changes

I work at a special needs college and have made a simple way for students to keep track of their objectives. It has buttons which can be clicked when you have done an objective for that day. I was wondering if it is possible for it to be saved onto a users web profile so they can continue clicking the more times they complete that objective. So by the end of a term you can see how well you have completed objectives and what you need to do more work on. Thank you

You might want to explain exactly what you want. Do you want the user to interact with any of the fields, or just the one? If not, just set the field(s) to read-only. Also, there is a security setting (Changes Allowed - Filling of form fields) that when set will prevent the user from filling a form. Designer doesn't offer anything more.

    We have an application that was originally developed for the JES2 stack that handles creation and maintenance of users for our portal environment. We are running Access Manager 7.1 in Legacy Mode and per suggestions from people on this forum we are using the AMClientSDK 6.3 code.
    The main change that we had to make to the code to get it running was to replace the createSSOToken(userID, password) method of getting our connections with the AuthContext methodology. This has been completed without any problems. However, we are now having the following problem when trying to create users.
    As a bit of background, the application first creates the user entry with just the userID and name information that is required by the directory. Once that is complete it goes back in and does an update on that user with the rest of their registration information.

  • Why is About:config not saving user changes?

    Ok heres the problem.
    In about:config
    searched for keword.url
    had - chrome://browser-region/locale/region.properties
    as the setting
    tried to change to - http://www.google.com/search?hl=&q=
    works with the changed link, until you restart firefox. then it reverts back to - chrome://browser-region/locale/region.properties
    any ideas why it wont save my change?

    I would expect that you are overriding it in with a user.js file in your profile.
    It that is the case simply remove the override from user.js modify through about:config (not by editing prefs.js) and restart Firefox. user.js is optional, if you don't have the file, its mention does not apply.
    Another possibility is that the about:config file is write protected from copying from a CD-ROM which is read only. If that is the case you will see several numbered version of prefs.js in your profile.

  • Apple Configurator - Updating to iOS 6.1.2 removed saved user data

    We are currently managing several classroom sets of iPads using Apple Configurator. When updating to iOS 6.1.2 on the Supervise tab, about two-thirds of one classroom (about 20 iPads) and another 4 out of 6 in a special education classroom lost all previously saved data (application data, documents, pictures, etc.) during the update. We have another classroom that updated approximately 30 iPads following the same exact steps using the same configurator computer and none were erased so we're having a hard time figuring out the issue.
    When I was watching the configurator run through the status updates during the iOS update (e.g. downloading iOS, decompressing iOS, installing iOS) there was another step on the iPads that lost data which was "supervising device." All of the iPads were already supervised so I don't know why this step occurred or what caused it to happen. With the grouping of 6 iPads, the 4 that were erased immediately started decompressing and installing iOS while the 2 that saved user data went to the downloading iOS stage first. I wasn't monitoring the grouping of 30 as closely, but I did notice the "supervising device" stage on the iPads that lost all user data.

    I think for the teachers you are going to have to tell them to copy their data off the device.

  • User change attribute workflow with approval  problem

    Hello,
    I have a requirement to add account numbers to user entry through workflow with approval process. and also same user can have multiple account numbers. when approver approves the User request then it's account number will be added into the user entity in ldap.
    So, i have created a Change Attribute workflow for that account number with these steps as : initiate, Approval, Commit, Error_report
    this workflow i am able to invoke through IdentityXML call and from OIM interfaces approvers able to approve and that account number is persisting under the User entity.
    Problem is: Actually above request is staging system. when user requests, it is in initiate step, when approver approves the request then only commits the info. so, there are 2 stages here.
    When i am requesting two consecutive account number requests then both requests are in initial stage. Then approver approves the 1st request then it is persisting into User entity. after that approver approves the 2nd request then this account number is overwriting the previous one. so, here is the problem i am finding. worflow is not adding the new account number.. instead its replacing the last value in the list of account numbers for an User entity.
    I hope the above problem make understandable..

    Thanks for the help. Having reinstalled OID/OAM a bunch of times to properly add our custom user object, nothing seems absurd. I tried running through your steps, but I'm still not getting the workflow button. I've customized create and delete workflows properly, but the change attribute is a mystery.
    I did the following:
    1) Selected a custom attribute in Attribute Access Control
    2) Changed its read access to Anyone
    3) Saved
    4) Changed its modify access to Anyone
    5) Saved
    6) Added a new Change Attribute workflow for the custom attribute
    7) Action #1: Request, added Anyone as participant and saved
    8) Action #2: External Action, selected attribute is the custom one
    9) Action #3: Commit
    10) Saved and enabled the workflow
    11) Restarted the Identity server
    12) Picked a user
    13) Opened his user profile
    14) Clicked Modify
    The custom attribute is still editable and has no Request a Change button.

  • Historical User Changes Report

    I would like to create Historical User Changes Report for all objects. This means that I don't want to fill the value of the field "Object Name" which is required.
    It's logic that I should fill this field but there is a saved report named "Historical User Changes Report" in IdM which doesn't have this field filled. If I open this report and just click on the Save button, I get an error.
    How does Sun create this report without filling "Object Name" field?

    we Copy catalog and RPD to production Environment. when i am try to change the my account(Weblogic) setting getting bellow error.
    Exception occurred when saving user preferences to the catalog access denied for user to path /users/weblogic/_prefs/userprefsxmlstore.
    I need to change any catalog permission? in Dev it is working fine.

    6. Restart The OBIEE Presentation Server.

  • Et_validate doesn't fire if user changes value and presses update button

    I am maintaining a flag for "dirty" records in a potentially large number of rows in a matrix. To set this flag I check for the et_Validate event and ItemChanged = true. This works fine if the user changes a value and then presses tab to leave the field.
    My problem is that et_Validate does not fire if the user changes a field's value and then presses the update button.
    It's like the screenpainter where if you change a field's value and then select a different field before pressing tab your change isn't saved.
    I suppose I could always send a tab keypress or automatically update the current row but I'm wondering how others handle this.
    I am currently using SBO2005A SP1 PL11.

    Additional info:
    If I change a matrix cell and click on the update/ok button then the ItemEvent.row = -1 and the active item is still the matrix. If I force a "click" in a field on the first row then the et_validate fires otherwise it does not.
    Does anyone have any other ideas on forcing et_Validate to fire when the user clicks on a button?

    If not, why Oracle Portal throw that function away?

  • How to capture the user change in an input field on a selection screen?

    I am coding a selection screen in which there are two input fields. The first field takes a Unix directory from the user input. Based on the input value, the second field will be populated with a the name of a file under the corresponding directory.
    My question is how I can make the program capture the user input without having to make the user press ENTER after they enter the value in the first field?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Actually you led me to the real solution! It's the function module DYNP_VALUES_READ that does the trick for me. This function enables the program to capture dynamic user changes without recourse to PAI. Please refer to the code below:

    I'm not sure that Lion AutoSave feature apply to network servers.
    I'm just sure that the Versions feature doesn't.
