Saxon and Supplied NodeList contains non-Saxon DOM Nodes error
Hi all,
I am writing an extension function for my xslt. So far, it was working fine, but since I switched from xalan to saxon, my function is giving me the following error:
Supplied NodeList contains non-Saxon DOM Nodes
I understand that I can not use non-saxon DOM nodes with saxon. The question is, how would I construct a saxon DOM objects???
my function looks like this:
public static NodeSet splitPortsAndResults(String portList, String resultList) {
// in here I am creating a document and node set to be returned to my xsl
I can not find any documentation on how to create a document using saxon.
I have spent a lot of time researching this. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Dr. Clap,
Thanks again!!! I have been looking for this information for atleast two days. Wow! I have printed the pages that explain how to return NodeList. I will implement it on Monday or Tuesday and will let you know by Wednesday. It should be pretty straight forward.
Again, you are the best!!!

Unmarshalling a DOM node to an XML file with JAXB
I'm trying to unmarshall a DOM node to an XML file using JAXB. However I keep receiving a NullPointerException. This only seems to occur when I create the DOM Node from scratch. The stack trace looks like the following:

I am running Firefox 18.0.1 and the plugin-container is using all my ram, have tried altering dom.ipc.plugins to false but makes no difference. Any advice please
plugin-container.exe is used to run Flash and other plugins so if they crash they do not take down your main Firefox session. But... I don't think memory usage would be that different if you tricked Firefox into running Flash inside firefox.exe. (There was a thread with the trick, but I can't recall the details. It was not a regular Firefox setting.)

Search for description containing non-English chars -- ?
Hello!
I've implemented a search class, which allows customers to search folders/documents by name, owner, description, etc.
And here's the problem: if description contains non-English (Russian, in my case) characters, search does not work! Everything (AS infrastructure, CM SDK DB, etc) was installed using UTF-8 Unicode charset. When I debug the code, I see that when I build AttributeQualification and later compose a comples SearchQualification, value in these is correct, but when I call getSQL(), I see string like this:
... ( nls_upper(ALIASDOCUMENT.DESCRIPTION) LIKE nls_upper('????') ) ...
So it seems as if SQL converted passed UNICODE value into ANSI string, and since server's system language is English, my Russian letters were lost -- ?
Can anybody shed some light here? Is there a way to search for UNICODE descriptions (and content, for that matter)?
Thanks,
Sasha.Hi Sasha,
I want you to try the following code. It should output the file description and query to a text file. Use internet explorer / or notepad to open this file and ****specify that the file encoding is UTF8.*****

matt.

TextNode containing non-printable characters
Hi,
I have problem with TextNodes that contains non-printable charaters.
i.e: CR and LF
The problem occoures when i'm going to serialize my DOM object to an
XMLString for
storing into our database.
The result of the serialization process is that CR and LF are replaced with
whitespaces.
Does anyone have an 100% safe code example .... ?
TIA.
Borre NordbakkenTake a look at the constants in cl_abap_char_utilities. A simpler solution would be to ask for a file without such characters...

Cannot login with password containing non-ascii characters
Hello,
I have web application, form based login. UTF-8 is specified "everywhere".
And it works, except for passwords.
If user register itself with password containing non-ascii characters, it is correctly written in database, but when doing either programmatic login or normal form based login, if fails.
If the password is only ascii, it works.
Username of login could be ascii or non-ascii, it doesn't matter, both works.
I'm using sun java application server 9.1.
jdbc realm.
I'm not using hashing passwords, just clean (now)
I tried configure realm Charset: UTF8 as last chance, but it doesn't work either.
The problem is only with non-ascii characters in password.
Any help very appreciated
Thanks a lothi,
I know all that, but that's not the case. My app uses preparedStatements, everything is properly configured, in all pages, utf-8 is going from user to db and back without any problems.
The only problem is with password field. As I am using form based login, with jdbc realm configured (again, nicely working when only ascii characters), I have very little chance to do something bad through the login phase.
I'm not talking about special characters, I'm talking about non-ascii characters, let's say - Chinese, arabish, Russian alphabet etc.
When user registers (my code), the fields are properly written to db. I have checked that, trust me.
But the Sun app server realm seems to have some problems with the password field.
(realm uses jdbc connection to mysql, the url contains all extra parameters to be sure about utf8. there is nothing more what can be configured...)
If I try other alphabet codes in login and ascii in password, it works. But soon, as I use other alphabet code also in password, it doesn't work anymore.
My only idea is, that I could try MD5 to create ascii only characters (I hope it works that way) on the client with javascript and then set Digest to MD5 in realm configuration. But still, it seems very strange. The clear way storage should also function? (now set Digest to 'none')
Is it a bug of Sun App Server?
thanks -
The InfoCube contains non-cumulative values
Hi,
While creating multicube for inventory on two cubes its askin the below "The InfoCube contains non-cumulative values. A validity table is created for these non-cumulative values, in which the time interval is stored, for which the non-cumulative values are valid.
The validity table automatically contains the "most detailed" of the selected time characteristics (if such a one does not exist, it must be defined by the user, meaning transfered into the InfoCube)", what is that and how to solve this,
Please through some light on this its urgent.
ChandanHi,
Your multi cube is probably based on the infociune 0IC_C03 containing non cumulative key figures taht's why you get this message.
You generaly don't have to maintain validity area unless you are in a special configuration (for exemple loading data from two source systems).
UThe following link should give more information about validity area with non cumulative :

Select xmlelement of clob containing non-printable chars gives ORA-31011
Using sqlplus against Ora9i database. We have some rows where the CLOB column contains non-printable chars because of a conversion from an old system.
I'm trying to extract this data using xmlselect. Most of the time it works great, but for the above rows it dies with error:
ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
If I embed substr(columname,1,25) so that it doesn't get to the non-printable character (which is at about position 200), then the sql works great.
Any ideas on how to massage this data, either on the fly, or I could do a one-time conversion. The problem is that darn CLOB. I can't even figure out how to find all the bad rows. Looking for sql to find the bad rows, or a function that I could put in a package, and then call from the select to convert it on the fly.
thanks,
RickThanks for your help. Anything I do (including your suggestion) to try and parse the xml bombs with an internal error. Without raising the exception.
What I decided to do instead is do a search in the clob using instr(column, CHR(13)) but for also all CHR that are less than 32. I then replace it with a space. So I'm going to fix the data once rather than doing an on the fly fix.
thanks again,
Rick -
Regex with strings that contain non-latin chars
I am having difficulty with a regex when testing for words that contain non-latin characters (specifcally Japanese, I haven't tested other scripts).
My code:
keyword = StringUtil.trim(keyword);
//if(keywords.indexOf(keyword) == -1)
regex = new RegExp("\\b"+keyword+"\\s*;","i");
if(!regex.test(keywords))
{Alert.show('"'+keywords+'" does not contain "'+keyword+'"'); keywords += keyword + "; ";}
Where keyword is
日本国
and keywords is
Chion-in; 知恩院; Lily Pond; Bridge; 納骨堂; Nōkotsu-dō; Asia; Japan; 日本国; Nihon-koku; Kansai region; 関西地方; Kansai-chihō; Kyoto Prefecture; 京都府; Kyōto-fu; Kyoto; Higashiyama-ku; 東山区; Places;
When the function is run, it will alert that keywords does not contain keyword, even though it does:
"Chion-in; 知恩院; Lily Pond; Bridge; 納骨堂; Nōkotsu-dō; Asia; Japan; 日本国; Nihon-koku; Kansai region; 関西地方; Kansai-chihō; Kyoto Prefecture; 京都府; Kyōto-fu; Kyoto; Higashiyama-ku; 東山区; Places; " does not contain "日本国"
Previously I was using indexOf, which doesn't have this problem, but I can't use that since it doesn't match the whole word.
Is this a problem with my regex, is there a modifier I need to add to enable unicode support or something?
Thanks

BUG: registered servers missing when password contains non-alphanumeric
I have a fresh installation of DS7 using Sun Java Web Server 7 to host DSCC7. Using DSCC7 web interface I click New Server and the procedure appears to complete successfully (no errors during creation, registration successful). However in the web interface the new server is not listed.
From the command line the new server is listed.
$ /opt/SUNWdsee7/bin/dsccreg list-servers
Hostname Port sPort Type Owner Flags iPath Description
www-c-directory 389 636 DS nobody /var/opt/SUNWdsee7/internal
Cause: the DSCC administrator's password contained non-alphanumeric characters (e.g. a left-angle bracket plus a few other punctuation characters) with about 10 characters in total.
Solution: from the web interface I navigated to Settings, Directory Service Managers, and changed the password for "admin" to a simpler password containing only alphanumeric characters.
Resolution: the registered servers now appear in the DSCC7 web interface as well as the command line. Oddly I can now return the password back to its original value and the servers still appear in the web interface.

Also using create user i am not able to create user with password in non-ASCII characters but alter user works and changes the password to non-ASCII characters when enclosed in quotes.
I wanted to know whether the password can contain non-ASCII characters or not?
Thanks in advance for your help.I don't think that the characters used are allowed. See this doc which only mentions three characters to be used .

I did try the same but it didn't work for me either.

Group messaging not working with groups that contain non iphone users
I have an Iphone 5 and for some reason I can't send/receive group messages with groups that contain non Iphone users. Basically I recieve single text messages/imessage from each person who responds to the group message. This is incredibly annoying.
Hello, megbu36.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Check to make sure that group messaging is enabled. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on Group messaging.
