SCM Livecache kF backup to InfoCube

Hi Users,
We're using SCM 7.0 and we set up the struture to export key figures from DP into an Infocube.
We are succussefully copying some KF's to the Infocube. But I have a problem that some of my KF's are not copying into the the infocube. In fact, they have not copied into the replicated datasource either.
All the transfer rules and update rules are set up correctly.
The Datasource
is NOT suppressing the KF's and these KF's are not set up any differently to the KF's that are transferring data to cube.
The Planning Area.
The KF's that are NOT transferring are a macro reuslt. Whereas the KF's that are in the cube are enetered in manually (except for the statistical forecast).
Is there something that I need to set in the macro or change how the KF's have been set up?
Have I missed a setting in the InfoSource or DataSource?
Thanks
Paul

Hello Paul,
maybe I did not understand the problem correctly. So let me ask one thing to clarify. Are the key figures that are not updated in the infocube present in the datasource or are they missing in the datasource as well?
What I suggested should have solved the problem that the key figures were missing in the datasource.
If the key figures are in the datasource, but still not updated into the cube, you could check the transfer rule from datasource into the infocube for the not updated key figures. Check if there is a direct mapping and if "sum" is set in the field mapping of these key figures.
If the key figures are still not in the datasource, try to create a new datasource or delete the exising one and create a new one.

  • How to backup an infocube with archiving

    hi gurus
can any one explain how we can backup an infocube without archiving.
    thanks in advance

    Hi Madhusudan,
Do you need to backup the cube with or without archiving?? the subject line and post conver different messages
    <u>Without archiving:</u>
Create a new cube, while creating copy it from the existing cube structure. Lets say this is CUBE2 and the first one is CUBE1.
Then you need to do a export generate datasource on the cube. In the Infosource tree under Datamart you will find one infosource 8ODS1.
Create update rules from CUBE2 to CUBE1. Activate the update rule and transfer rules.
Do a full load from CUBE1 to CUBE2.

  • SCM-LiveCache

    Hello.
I need load data to LiveCache using report /SAPAPO/OM_DWNUPL_UPLOAD, but get error.
"Selected plng versions have already been loaded. If you want to reload the planning versions again, you must first initialize the liveCache and repeat all of section C."
May I initialize the liveCache for specified client ? How ?  I don't want clear all liveCache data for all clients in system....
    Igor.

Anyway, when u upload data, all data will be updated with uploaded data and all old data will be lost. In this scenario to have correct solution u may follow steps as mentioned below :
    1. Take disk backup of existing LiveCache database. If there is no medium for disk backup, create one and take backup. This backup will ensure if something goes wrong after upload, u can still restore data to current stage.
    2. Now reinitialize LiveCache and then upload as you have mentioned.
    3. If there is any problem with uploaded data, you can always have the option to restore the old data back.
    Best of luck.
    Thx.

  • Livecache changes during SCM Unicode conversion

I am starting a unicode conversion of our SCM system which was just upgraded to 7.01. Before the conversion, our liveCache database was on a different host than our SCM system so we moved it to the same hardware. The process we used was to do a backup of the current liveCache, create a new instance on the new hardware and then do a restore of that liveCache  from the original liveCache's backup.
For the Unicode conversion can we use this same process, but before restoring the liveCache, change the _UNICODE = 'YES' parameter for the liveCache? I read note 632357, but it didn't seem like that was neccessary, if I just created a new instance of liveCache where the SCM system target would land, changed the parameter and then did a restore from the backup?

    Hello George,
    1) The _UNICODE liveCache parameter should have the same value in the target liveCache instance as you have in the source liveCache instance, if you would like to do the
u201CHomogenous liveCache copy using backup/restoreu2019 using the SAP note:
457425    Homogenous liveCache copy using backup/restore
    2) If you are planning to convert your system/liveCache to Unicode you have to follow all steps given in the SAP Note No. 632357.
    3) If you have problems to follow the steps recommended in the SAP Note No. 632357, please create the SAP message to the component BC-DB-LCA, so we could discuss your issues in details.

  • How big is SCM/APO/Livecache/TM customer base?

Becuase these products are not used by some sectors such as finacial sector, etc., they
used to have a small customer base.
I have heard that now more companies start to use it.
    Is that true?   Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,
the answer to this depends on what you define as 'small'.
It's correct that many of the optimization functions are based in production and supply chain management and that they are used most often for this as well.
I'm not aware of any optimization option available for SCM that might be used for the financial/banking sectors - but hey, I'm just a database guy
Anyhow, there are literally thousands of active SCM/liveCache installations that are heavily used by our customers and that are and inevitable building block of their processes.
    Hope that answers your question.

What you want to do is a system copy by backup/restore; in your case this does not work.

  • APO offline backup

    Hi,
Could someone tell me how I could shut down SCM and live cache automatically (with a script), for an offline backup?
(and the reverse start the DB, LC and SCM after the backup?)

    Thanks

    > Could someone tell me how I could shut down SCM and live cache automatically (with a script), for an offline backup?
    > (and the reverse start the DB, LC and SCM after the backup?)
Keep in mind that a liveCache/MaxDB doesn't know anything like an "offline backup", so just backing up the files to use them for a recovery is most likely not to work (this is not Oracle).

  • SCM + Live cache

    Hi All,
we are planning to install SCM Server version 5.0 with live cache server ,
please help on connectivity with Live cache server
In SCm 4 it is inbuit , does we require separate Live cache server for any SCm Version
We are stuck on this ,
    please help
    Thanks & Regds
    Manish

    Hi Manish
Yes, you would need a seperate server for Live Cache, we just completed installation of SCM 5.1 with LiveCache 7.7
Install the Live Cache 7.7 as per the install guide (This is MAX DB not Oracle) or the version you need on a seperate server.
You can do this install before you install SCM system, when you are in the install process of SCM system it will prompt you to enter LiveCache details.  Or if you wish you can do it later.
IMP: There will not be any GUI to start and stop Live Cache alone, start and stop of Live Cache happens from SCM system using the transaction LC10.
Once both systems are up and running, use LC10 from SCM system to complete the post install steps and complete the configuration. DO NOT GET CONFUSED WITH POST INSTALLTION PART in the Live Cache install guide, these should be done from SCM system.
Backups: You need seperate backups for SCM and for LCA (Standard SAP naming convention for LiveCache Database)
Hope this helps. Let me know if you understand this.
    Thanks

    Hi Xperts,

Any body can tell me whats the procedure to do back using Infospoke or Open hub service.

    Hi Chowdhary,
Infospoke is used to extract data from BW and send it to other systems...
that means you want to send ur data from BW data target i.e from ODS or InfoCube... to FlatFile.. or other databases..
    T.Code is --RSBOH1
    1.Go to this RSBOH1 tcode..
    2. and select INFOSPOKE tab..
3.give info spoke name.. which you want to create...
4.click on Create button( in application tool bar)
5.in general tab.. there you need to select ur source systemm..(i.e. ODS or InfoCube or any data target.)
    6. and in destination tab select Flat file or DB table.. and give the path which you want to store ur data...(example select File option and there you need to give the path.. C drive or Desktop.. like that.. and give , seperator.. because.. it will gives you in CSV format..)
    7. and in infoobjects tab.. select which objects data you want to extract..
    8. Activate it..
    9. now you will get one icon in application tool bar.. that is.. Dailog(Execute) button..
    10. click on this button.. and check ur target path....you can find two files.. that is one metadata file.. and another one is original data file..

    Hi,
    Check these notes:
Note 497289 - Performance when reading shipment
Note 801419 - Performance problems in shipment (cost) processing
    and related notes
Too, check if you have implemented BADI's related with shipment costs.
Other way is to do a trace with ST05 to find the bottleneck. Check with a Basis consultant and perhaps you can solve it with a secondary index. But first check the first notes.

My next project is to install SCM 7.0 and LiveCache and to administrate the same. I have already worked in ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0. As a SAP Basis administrator, I need to know what are the activities i should know in regards to SCM & LiveCache administration.
Can somebody help me in thig regards and list down the activities which SAP Basis person should be knowing in SCM Environment.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
    Thanks for reply
I am confused in SCM & Live cacache post installation activity. Please help me to clear out following doubts
    1) As per SCM Inst. guide 7.0 SR1, post installation activity "5.13BI-Specific Post-Installation Steps", We need to do client copy and BI specific.
    2) In the Same guide there is a activity "5.17Performing the Client Copy".
    3) In Live 7.7 cache inst. guide, post installation activity "5.1.1Setting Up the Connection to the liveCache Instance".
I have gone through these two guides. Please clear out following doubts.
    1) As per SCM Inst. guide , Do we need separate client for BI-Specific activity and one more client for other acivity. OR we should have only one client for BI-Specific and SCM Specific activyt. So DO we required two separate clients ?. OR there always only one Production client in SCM system ?
    2) As per LiveCache inst. Guide, in the post installation activity we need to set up a connection. Is this connection to above mentioed BI-Specific client or other production client.?
I am little confused. Please reply.
    Thanks

    Thanks and regards,
    Kiran

    Hello Kiran,
    1. Itu2019s dependent on the problem you are going to solve and on your project.
For example, the complete data backup of the source liveCache made in sync with SCM system database backup will be sufficient for restore/recovery to do a System copy.
    See SAP notes:
886103     System Landscape Copy for SAP SCM
457425     Homogenous liveCache copy using backup/restore
If you lost the data or log volumes, for example, you must  execute a recovery with initialization using the last successful data backup, assumed you have it, and all of the following log backups. In this case, the loss of data  includes the period as of the last log backup.
To avoid the data loss please see the recommendations in the SAP note 869267, answer on question 3.
< What do I need to pay attention to when configuring the log with  MaxDB?>
    Please review the SAP notes:
869267     FAQ: SAP MaxDB LOG area

    2. u201CAlso from transaction LC10 Im not able to connect to database manager GUI.u201D
Itu2019s better to create another thread at forum for each problem.
Could you please provide more information to get clear on the last reported issue::
The DBMGUI should be  installed and could be started on the same host where the SAPGUI runs.
    - How did you install DBMGUI on your PC?
SAP Note :: 386714     SQL Studio + Database Manager GUI installation
    - What is the version of the DBMGUI?
( For example, you could find the answer, when you start the
DATABASE Manager -> Go to the HELP-> About Database Manager )
    - What is the version and SP of the SAP Basis on your system?
    - What error did you get, when you tried to connect to the liveCache using DBMGUI in LC10?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
