SCOM 2012 R2 missing agents for HP Unix 11.23?

I am trying to discover/install SCOM 2012 R2 agents on HP-Unix systems running 11.23 and later meeting the minimum requirements as outlined in
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212713.aspx
within a SCOM 2012 R2 deployment.
Seemingly the discovery wizard works via ssh and credentials configured with sudo elevation on the target system, unfortunately the wizard indicates that there is no matching agent available.
I see the following agents available in D:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Server\AgentManagement\UnixAgents\DownloadedKits

If the system is missing the respective HP-Unix agent where would I find it?
Any help greatly appreciated

Thank you very much for you help Steve,
I am at this time able to use one account on the Unix side, use it to fill the in the 2 run as account types on the SCOM 2012 R2 server and in return use the 2 run as accounts to populate the 3 different profiles.
Data coming back looks good the 2 categories I don't see any data for are physical disk health and physical disk performance at this time.

  • Orchestrator/SCOM 2012 and UTC Time for Get Alert

We are currently moving to using Orchestrator to act as a connector between SCOM 2012 and Unicenter for ticket generation.  Right now, the runbook that I have built out does the following.
    Monitor Date/Time > Format Date/Time > Get Alert
The monitor Date/Time runs every 60 seconds.
Format Date/Time then pulls from a variable that grabs the current time using now().  I then have it adding 4 hours and 55 minutes to the time to set the UTC time to 5 minutes earlier.
Get Alert then looks for all alerts that meet a specific criteria.  This includes the time and any alert that was generated within the last 5 minutes, which is why I have it currently set to 4 hours and 55 minutes.
In a few months, that's going to break and I'll have to manually update the format date/time to 5 hours and 55 minutes.  What I'm trying to find is a way to do this automatically so the runbook doesn't have to be modified.  I'm thinking of using
the 'Activity End Time in UTC' from the Monitor Date/Time but want to see if there's any other easier way of doing it.

    Hi again,
If the question is to have a an easy way to get only Alerts not already seen with "Get Alert" before:
Use "Update Alert" and update fields like TicketID or ResoultionState after "Get Alert" and exclude this criteria in the Filter tab of "Get Alert" ...

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Management Packs for monitoring IBM Tivoli

Are there management packs available to monitor IBM Tivoli through SCOM 2012 R2?
If yes, what all components in IBM Tivoli family can be monitored?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I think if there is any Management Pack for IBM Tivoli, then this Management Pack should be provided by IBM, and this may be fee-based also, I would like to suggest you contact IBM for this.
And hope the below link be helpful:

  • SCOM 2012 reports missing.

I've searched the google and this forum for answers but haven't found anything that worked so far. When I open the Reporting tab for SCOM I see the Application Monitoring report group for .Net Monitoring, Authored Reports, Favorite Reports, and Scheduled
Reports, but none of the reports for the other management packs that are installed.
I've tried removing the Reporting Services role from SCOM, running RESETSRS.exe off the dvd, creating a new reporting database, reinstalling the report feature for SCOM, recreating the Data Warehouse Account / Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account profiles.
The SQL server for SCOM is on the same server as SCOM.
What else can I try to get the reporting to work correctly? Delete all management packs and reimport  them from the catalog?

Try to import Report Management pack for other Management Packs
and check firewall ports between reporting services and management pack is open.

  • Is there a SCOM install agent for SLES on PPC64?

Is there a SCOM install agent for SLES on PPC64?
Trying to install an agent for SCOM on Suse VM units that are hosted on IBM's power 7 hardware.
While i do see .ppc AIX agent installers I do not see one for SLES on ppc64.
Has anyone installed SCOM on SLES ppc64 or know of a viable agent for the install?

To elaborate a bit, Microsoft definitely does not offer an agent for SLES on PowerPC.  Linux has been ported to a lot of different processor chip architectures, which is great.  But Intel x86/x64 is by far the most popular, and it's the only
chip architecture for which Microsoft supplies an agent for monitoring Linux.  As you noted, there is an agent for AIX on PowerPC, but AIX is a very different operating system from Linux, and the agent for AIX on PPC will not work on Linux on PowerPC.
I don't see Microsoft doing an agent for Linux on PowerPC.  We would need to see a significant business opportunity for that to change.
I would note that the source code for the OpsMgr agent for Linux/UNIX is available at
http://scx.codeplex.com, along with instructions on how to compile and build the agent.  Someone with developer skills in C++, compilers, makefiles, etc. could definitely build an agent for SLES on PowerPC.  For
example, I'm aware of someone who has built an agent for Linux running on the IBM S/390 (z-Series) chip architecture running as a guest under zOS and has it working with SC 2012 OpsMgr.   But you would be on your own,
perhaps with help from the community, to make that happen.

  • Recommendations for SCOM 2012 -- 2012 R2 migration

Hello to all. I have a customer that has SCOM 2012 in its IT environment but uses it barely and does not have any documentation. I proposed to install a new Manament Group (MG) and "reboot" to a paralell SCOM 2012 R2 considering the
use of new features present on 2012 R2.
       Questions:
1- Does SCOM support a side by side migration strategy , like SCCM 2007 R2 --> SCCM 2012 R2 that takes its main source objects and bring them to the new separated Management Group (the SCOM 2012 R2)?
2- Considering that all regular member servers are monitored by SCOM 2012 (all have agents installed), what is the recommended way to to install SCOM 2012 R2 agents on them (multi homed deploy, deploy a new agent and it will upgrade/remove the
    already existing SCOM 2012, etc)?
3- Does SCOM allows a approach to install a SCOM 2012 R2 on already existing SCOM 2012 MG and "migrate" its objects to new server and after that decomission SCOM 2012 (the old version)?
Your inputs and references will be very welecomed.

Yes. You can built SCOM 2012 R2 and do side-by-side migration.

  • Upgrade Paths for SCOM 2012 R2

I looked through many forums and MS sites but can't find if it's possible to upgrade SCOM 2007R2 to SCOM 2012R2 directly.  Or do you have to upgrade to the integrated SCOM 2012SP1 package first?  or is even that supported?  I'm trying to

    Hello!

It is possible to implement by SCOM 2012 R2?

    Something like this

    Hi,
As far as I know, SCOM can be used to collect performance datas from monitored object, but the time used to open a link is not a data of performace that can be collected.
And there is build way to get the time used by default. So it is suggested to find other way to do this, such as scripting.

  • EM 12C Integration with SCOM 2012

Has anyone integrated EM12C ( running on Solaris Sparc ) with MS SCOM 2012 ? Just looking for any hints / tips /issues ... etc ...

If the integration is along the lines of forwarding events from Enterprise Manager 12c to SCOM, then we are currently finalizing an event connector for SCOM 2012. It will enable the sending of events from Enterprise Manager to SCOM.

  • Where is unix/linux agent located on scom 2012 r2 server

    hey there,
my boss tried to install scom unix agent manually, and asked me where the unix agent located on scom 2012 r2 server.
Is it "GetOSVersion.sh" the one he looks for? If it is not, then wherw it is located
I'm a Windows guy and have no idea what that .sh file is. Please help~~

The "GetOSVersion.sh" is a script that is first executed when you try to push an agent out to
a unix/linux server. It then tells SCOM what version of the agent it needs to download and install.
    As for the location:
Management Server: \System Center Operations Manager\Server\AgentManagement\UnixAgents\DownloadedKits
Gateway Server: \System Center Operations Manager\Gateway\AgentManagement\UnixAgents\DownloadedKits
I suggest to push the agent out vs manual install as you then don't need to worry about manually signing certificates/installing agent. Its saves considerable amount of
time and your then managing your agents from a central location.
Oh and as Steve mentioned make sure you download the Unix Management pack bundle (MPB) and not from the online catalog. This is due to the MPB is what actually contains the agents where as the catalog is just the management packs.
    Cheers,
    Martin

  • SCOM 2012 Unix/linux agents authentication method

    Hi everybody
We have an environment including SCOM 2012 SP1, 10 windows server, 40 linux servers and 10 HP-UX servers. all of them are joined a trusted domain. I know the authentication method between windows agents and management server is kerberos. but about linux
    and HP-UX servers? I have read :
"UNIX and Linux agent monitoring in Operations Manager requires certificates to secure the SSL communication channel between the Management Servers and agents. The
Operations Manager UNIX/Linux agent is a very lightweight agent implementation, comprising a CIM Object Manager (OpenPegasus) and CIM Providers.  There are two
protocols involved in the communication between the Management Server and the UNIX/Linux agent:  ssh and WS-Management."
Now I want to secure the Unix/Linux agents authentication and communication to RMS. some questions:
1- how much secure and credible is current authentication method? and in a high secure environment can I trust SCOM self signed Certificates?
2- Considering this point that Unix/linux computers are joined to active directory domain and are using Kerberos to authenticate, can I use this authentication method between RMS and linux Agents?
3- if I make a decision to use certificates should I use gateway server? (considering all servers and RMS are in same trusted domain)
    any other suggestion?
    Thanks in advance
