Scrambled characters in response of G http-server on linux

Hello.
I am trying to set up the G Web Server from the Internet Toolkit 5.0 in LabVIEW 6.1 on Red Hat Linux 8.0. In general, that web server seems to be running.
It is configured to listen for connections on port 8080. So when I access http://localhost:8080/ with my browser it shows up a directory listing of the www-root, but all files and dirs only in one line w/o linefeed.
See attached Gwebroot.png
Navigating through the files and dirs shows only web related contents but none of my VIs. Clicking on "index.htm" brings the G Web Server welcome screen just as expected. I can navigate through the example pages, but every time I click on a VI example I only get unreadable gibberish, like a
s my browser reads the binary contents of the VI as ASCII characters. Same symptoms as discussed in Document ID: 0VJC8SSG but solution apparently not applicable.
A remote computer on Win32 or Linux behaves the same.
I already have ITK and proper VI running on Win32 and it works fine, also viewing that VI with Linux remote machine. But hosting same VI on Linux G web server only shows scrambled ASCII characters.
See attached Gexppi.png and Gproj2.png
What am I doing wrong?
I'm out of ideas. Need help!

Sounds like a little problem with the line termination. On Windows the
line termination is a carriage return/line feed. On Unix it is only line
feed.
Now HTML requires in fact as line termination and the way this
is probably solved is that a routine takes the incoming string and
replaces the \r with and \n with . Only the Unix version of the
directory listing function might use the platform specific line
termination constant so the string is really converted into
somethingsomething else..... and this is not treated as multi
line in most browsers.

This has to do with wrong Content-Type/Mime-Type in the HTTP header or a
broken browser client.

Hmm, it could be that the function to read the mime.type file to assign
the proper mime type to file endings also stumbles over the line endings
in that file. After all the Internet Toolkit for LabVIEW 5 is very old
and there might have been some fixes in the mean time. I believe I have
looked at the version which came with LabVIEW 6.1 but not sure if those
problems are solved there as I haven't really tried it out nor on
Windows nor on Linux.

    James,
The key parts in that output are -

    Try (as root) -
/usr/bin/lsof -i TCP:3938which should show you information about the process(es) that are currently listening on that port.
    As for -

g shared libraries: libdb.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directorylibdb is a prerequisite of installing the Apache server, I believe you can get the library as part of the Berkeley DB installation/rpm's/packages (it should be listed in the installation document).

  • Http server in the same oracle home or not ?

Hi, finally i could install oracle 10g 10.2.0.3 on windows vista. Now i want to install http server but i wonder if i have to install in the same oracle home or in another one. Some documents says yes another one not.

    oracle_sv wrote:
I would like to keep 10g version. I have the cd companion. The fist time that i tried to install give some errors and after that i couldn´r start OracleDB console and EMOuch! I suspect that was due to installing HTTP Server binaries in your Oracle home?
I have only installed HTTP Server on Linux, and I had a separate home for the Oracle database binaries and HTTP Server.
The installation (at least on Linux) was straight forward, provided you have done your prep work by installing the correct RPM's, environment, etc.
Once you have HTTP Server installed, you have to fulfil the rest of the APEX requirements (if not already done), such as:
    - Patch HTTP Server (for Linux, this is Application Server Patch 5983622)
    - Install XML DB
    - Install Oracle Text
    - Upgrade PL/SQL Web toolkit
    - Install APEX (I had 3.12 originally installed, but recently upgraded to 4.0 which was painless).
    - Configure your Apache/modplsql/conf/dads.conf in your HTTP Server home
You will need to read the installation guides on how to do each of the above. You might have more luck doing this on Linux than Windows.
If I was in your position and starting from scratch on this, I would be installing 11g, as it might not be so much work since APEX comes as part of 11g.

In my scenario EANCOM to IDOC, I am getting an error in the sender communication channel (FILE Adapter). It is being picked up from the ‘sender’ directory successfully but not reaching the XI box (no messages seen in SXMB_MONI).
The error in the runtime Workbench says the following:

    Hi Murli
error code 500 stands for Internal Server Error
This code is the default for an error condition when none of the other 5xx codes apply.
for more details on error code follow the link

you have to restart J2EE engine
    steps to restart J2EE engine
    1) run transaction SMICM
    2) then in the tab administration => J2EE instance(local) =>send soft shutdown with restart
by this java engine will restart and will be up in 5-10 minutes and your problem will be solved

    2) And how to record the JS(Javascript files) in OpenScript.
How i can solve this problem. Can any one help me in this issue.

    Ramesh
The 500 error I guess is due to a miss correlation, sending wrong data to the server making it crash.
You can record JavaScript files by editing the proxy filter:
View -> OpenScript Preferences -> Record -> HTTP module (or Sieble) -> Change to URL Filters tab; you can add edit remove filters from there.

  • Send from file to http server and save http/xml response to another file

    Hallo,
is there anybody who made running simple think. Read xml file, send it to http server using plain HTTP adapter and then wait for response which is to be saved as another file?
    ThanX a lot.
    Honza Vrzak

    Hello Honza,
I've made running these two asynchronous scenario. Maybe that might help you?
1.a) FileAdapter picks up XML and sends it to XI2.0
1.b) XI uses PlainHTTP-Adapter to sends the message to Webserver
1.c) HTTPRequestHandler (written in C#) receives the XML and writes it to HD.
2.a) JavaScript sending an XML to PlainHTTP adapter of XI2.0.
2.b) XI sends the message to FileAdapter
2.c) FileAdapter writes the XML to HD
What you need is an synchrounus scenario and I think I remember that the fileadapter is not able to work synchrounus. So I think you have to combine these two scenarious to one.
    Regards Björn

  • Please Look into this.!! Viewing HTTP Server Response

    Please consider this urgently..
How can I view the response Headers sent by the Server back to the Client??(The Client is a java application which has invoked the servlet via the URL class)
It is possible to check the client Headers with the following in your servlet code:
    String contentType = request.getContent();
    System.out.println(contentType);
How can I check the response headers of the server which it sends back to the client?
    If on the server I say : response.setContentType("text/html");
what method I need to invoke on my client to see this content Type???
    Please can any one respond..
    ajay

This problem occurred to me - the applet needs to know the authorization data (ie: the user) which the servlet extracted via the request.getHeader("Authorization") method.
But if the browser obliged the servlet by demanding a user and password in response to servlet calling request.getHeader("Authorization"), one would think the browser would know the user and password.
Isn't there a way for the applet to obtain the user and password directly from the browser without having the servlet send it back via something like response.setHeader("user",user) ?

  • Single Sign-on and HTTP Server not started

I have installed oracle9iAS on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 (SLES 8) which is certified by Oracle to run oracle9iAS. Everything was working propely after installation but when I restarted the server, the listener, the iasdb instance, and the EM started properly but when I went to http://servername:1810 and clicked on start all i got them all started but the HTTP Server and the Single Sign-on. When I tried to start the HTTP Server individually i got the following error:
oracle.sysman.emSDK.util.jdk.EMException: The opmn request has failed. From opmn: HTTP/1.1 204 No Content Content-Length: 0 Content-Type: text/html Response: 0 of 1 processes started. Check opmn log files such as ipm.log and ons.log for detailed.
I checked the log and its showing the following:

    Cache-Control: no-cache
    Pragma: no-cache
    Accept-Encoding: deflate, gzip, x-gzip, compress, x-compress
I tried to start it from command line with the command
    $dcmctl start -ct ohs
    and it returned ADMN-906025
Anyone can help me solving this problem??

This error Can be caused by a syntax error in your httpd.conf file, check it / correct it try reloading OHS.
Ensure that emctl is not running when you run any dcmctl commands! If you have already run any dcmctl commands with emctl running that can cause your problem - if so to fix it solution is really to re-install.

  • Discoverer Portlet Provider, No Response from Application Web Server

I must have some odd configurable incorrect. I hope one of you can help me out and point me in the right direction.
My issue involves the "Discoverer List of Worksheets" portlet. It will display all the workbooks and I can drill in and see the worksheets, but, when I click/choose a worksheet, it will return within a couple seconds and display "No Response from Application Web Server" in bold red letters, then "There was no response from application ...", then "Please notify the site's webmaster ...". I have spent the day trying to lock down a log on the http server, j2ee, web cache and used enterprise manager to see logs which changed immediately after the error but didn't seem to find much.
What am I missing? Is there a timeout somewhere? Does it look like I missed something when I configured anything?
Below are the configurables and answers to some of the obvious questions.
