Scrathey song or just skipping

Hi,
My son has a mini and it worked fine until I one can he turned it on and all he got was a explanation folder so we sent it away to apple because there was a folder icon with an explanation mark on it. When I got it back from apple all the song I uploaded on it seem to skip or are very scratchy. How can I fix I’ve restore and my firmware is 1.4 as it should be. Its my sons Christmas gift from last year and now he can't us it at all.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want. Which view, exactly, are you trying to use? Almost certainly, you can do what you want...
In iTunes 11, I have the sidebar showing ('cos I prefer it), and :
although I have ringed Composers, this view of my Library is sorted by Song title.
And "group albums" by ...
title?
or artist?
If you can be more specific about your requirements, then perhaps we can give you better help.

I know it's a little late but I recently updated my iPod touch 4th gen to iOS 6 and now it won't play my music. It will play spotify and YouTube music but not my music. Everything else works fine but when I go to play a song it just skips to the next. Why

Try:

HT5848 iTunes Radio no longer plays any songs. Just skips repeatedly.

I changed my Apple ID password and now my iTunes Radio does not work in any of my Apple devices.
I have a MacBook, iPad, and iPhone and iTunes Radio used to work great on all of them before I decided to change my password.
Now, whichever stations I choose to play, it just keeps skipping songs after songs for very long time and it doesn't try to even play a song.
In fact, it slows down my iPad Air and iPhone 5S as it continues to skips songs in the background by the way the icons' animates.
I have to close the music app from the multitasking to get it back from the slowness.
This also happens with the feature stations on the top, but it can only play the ads.
I am an iTunes Match subscriber, so I do not get ad on my regular stations.
I tried to use my Aple ID in my sister's iPad and it does the same thing. It still skips for so long without any playing any songs.
However, if I put my sister's Apple ID to my devices, iTunes Radio works fine.
I think it has to do with my Apple ID and it is frustrating that I cannot use part of the service I paid for.
I hope someone here can give an insight with what I am having trouble with. Thanks.

HI David - I actually had started another post on this same topic, and it was suggested there to 'update' all of your iTunes informatIon, although you don't really have anything,to change. This seemed to work for a short time for me, and then the skipping started again. I then had skip free radio for like a week, and then it started again yesterday. Today, I'm listening without issue. And yes, I use Cox too. I messaged them on FB, to which they sent me an article on an App Store outage that happened a few weeks ago, as well as a link to Apple on how to turn off the shake feature so to skip a song. I told them neither of those applied to my issue, and they told me to call Customer Serice and I just didn't have time for that. So I just let it come and go, but I'm convinced it's more of an ISP/Cox issue.

Pretty much I have a song on my iPod 5th gen nano that doesn't wanna play, its just one song every other song works. I click it and it show the thing when a song is about to play but then it instantly goes back to where you click on the song. And when I click on it in the songs list it skips immediately to the next song on the list. I have tried restoring my iPod but the song still won't work I've also tried removing the song from the library and the putting it back on iTunes but still no luck. What do you guys suggest I do?

Can you play the song in iTunes?
If you can't the song file is probably corrupt and needs to be replaced.

Can't listen to an entire song in Itunes. Randomly just skips the song in different places while it's playing. Song file is not corrupted - even doing it on a new song I just bought from Itunes today. Help :(

I just bought a new laptop and transferred over all of the songs. But I checked the ones that skip in Itunes in another music player and they work fine there - the files are not corrupted - and like I said, even a brand new song I just bought skips. The priority for Itunes is set to High. This comptuer has very high specs (it's a Lenovo IdeaPad) and the processing performance never even goes above 10%. I am a Disc Jockey and this is a severe problem. Please help...

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

IPod justs skips over songs??? PLEASE HELP

When I try playing songs on my iPod it just skips over them. Some play but most of them just skip. Any answers?? Please help

In my case, the new 5G ipod was skipping virtually all the songs I had previously added from my own CD collection, but playing all others like mp3 files from CD-R or files downloaded from web, or itunes store (my old 3G had no problem playing them all). After much futzing around I found I could fix the skipping by slightly altering the info file on each of the affected songs. The easiest way to do this was on itunes choose edit--select all--right click on any song--choose "get info"--choose info tab--then insert a period or a dash or some other unobtrusive symbol in the comments section. You should see a green check mark appear next to the info section. Click OK.
This symbol will now be added to every song's comments. But it cured my problem 100%.

Does this only happen with the tracks you have downloaded from the iTunes Store? Perhaps you should work the suggestions in this Apple support document first.

My iPod just skips through all the songs without playing them

The other day, I was listening to a playlist on my iPod Nano (first generation), and it just skipped over one of my favorite songs. I immediately reset my iPod and went back to the playlist, but this time, it wouldn't play any of the songs. The artwork, title, artist, etc came up for a second, then it would skip to the next song and do the same thing. I reset it a few times, updated iTunes, and updated my iPod, but nothing worked. I'm extremely disappointed because I'm pretty sure my iPod isn't under warranty anymore, but still, it hasn't even been two years since I purchased it. Is there any way I can fix the iPod? If not, could someone please tell me how I could contact Apple and possibly get a replacement? I understand that it'll be difficult sine it's no longer under warranty, but when I spend $250 on a product, I expect it to work for more than a year and a half. Thanks so much to anyone who can help.

You can actually transfer your iPod songs to your computer.
First, you'll need to prevent iTunes from automatically syncing your iPod. To do that, follow these steps:
1 - Open iTunes.
2 - Connect your iPod to your computer.
3 - Basically as soon as your iPod begins to display "Do Not Disconnect", begin to press and hold the Ctrl and Shift keys together.
Continue to do this for perhaps about 20 seconds after your iPod appears in the Source List of iTunes (the left area).
After you've prevented iTunes from auto-syncing your iPod, click on it in the Source List, and under the "Summary" tab, select the option: "manually manage content on iPod".
Also, go to the Music, podcasts, etc. tabs, and deselect all check-boxes that say "Sync", to sync music, or podcasts.
Now, to save your changes, click the "Apply" button in the bottom-right corner of this screen.
Now, to transfer your iPod songs to your computer, there are a few different methods, but perhaps the most straight-forward way to do it would be to download a third-party program which can do this for you.
YamiPod is free, and commonly recommended for using with copying your iPod songs to your computer.
After you have those songs copied to your computer sucessfully, restore your iPod in iTunes.

Go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ and then click contact iTunes Store Support. Then find your issue in the categories and then it will most likely take you to a page with suggested things to do but also on this page should be an option to e-mail them. Just explain your problem and also have the names of the songs that you are having problems with listed in the e-mail so they can help you more quickly. They usually get back to you within 24 hours.

Some of my newly downloaded songs will not pay all the way through, they just skip to the next song

I just recently downloaded two new cds on iTunes and not all the songs, but a few of them will not play all the way out. It will play and then just skip to the next song! How can I fix it????

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the songs do not play completely. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

So i fixed it by converting each song to a AAC File or whatever. Made a dulicate song but it works, just right click on the song and hit convert to aACC File. For one album I had to right click view in apple store and hit download on the songs that were skipping.
