Screen problems, need advice

I dropped my iphone a couple month ago. I really would like to buy a new one but I really just don't have the money. So I would really like to know whats wrong with the one I have. I dropped it straight on its face while it was in a rubber case. the screen did not crack but now all the colors streak across the screen. It is hard to explain so here is a link to the picture:

If this is something I could fix on my own even by opening it up and doing some work It would be better than nothing. My warranty is already up anyways. Thanks!
(I was thinking maybe a wire came loose for the lcd or backlight or something like that?) HELP!

The only way you could ever find out what the problem is would be to have the phone examined. It could be anything, since the phone was dropped. I think it might be an exposed or out of place wire or other internal mechanism that conflicts with the display.

Selection-screen problem:need to go back to selectionscreen not source code

Please help me on my dillema. I have 2 reports, zreport1 and zreport2. Now, zreport1 submits
values via selection-screen to zreport2. Now here is the problem, when I press 'BACK' on the
selection-screen of zreport2(rememeber we used submit statement via selection-screen on zreport1)
instead of going back to the selection-screen of zreport1 it goes to the source code of zreport1 which
is wrong. And there are 2 selection-screens on zreport1 depending on the user if he is controller or not.
So what I need to do here is that whenever I press 'BACK' either I'm adding or modifying or displaying records
it should go back to whatever screen I called in zreport1.
Here's a diagram.
ZREPORT1**
if v_controller = 'X'
    display selection-screen 1500
else
    display selection-screen 500
endif.
if user wants to add records, submit values from zreport1 to zreport2
and return via selection-screen.
*same goes for edit option.
if user wants to display, get all records then display in ALV.

So lets assume user decides not to add records and decides to go back. so he presses
the BACK button in selection-screen of zreport2. Now here's the nasty part, instead of going back to either
selection-screen 500 or 1500 in zreport1, it goes to the source code of zreport1!. I hope I explained it clearly.

New Snow Leopard server problems -need advice.

hello everyone. I just setup a mac pro with Snow Leopard server to replace our G5 which was setup up for simple file sharing as a fake server and am having several challenges listed below:
*I've made sure the new computer running SL server has the same local name and IP address as the previous G5 (now off of the network)
- Our windows (Vista) computer cannot see the server on the network. This was not a problem with the G5 and SMB filesharing.
- I cannot access server preferences due to this error: "Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with the record name server.mydomain.com$ There may be a problem with the Open Directory service."
- server admin is treacherously slow both locally and remotely.
I cold really use some help on these folks. I'd sincerely appreciate it.

Thanks for your input everyone. I turned off DNS (just to see) and it's still slow. Frankly I am not sure if I even need it yet. My goal is only to setup local services and then open the server up to the WAN.
My provides the DNS I suppose. MY ISP points to my WAN IP and my router directs that to my server's internal IP. At least that's how things are setup now and left over from when i was using Snow Leopard client as a fake server (for filesharing and DayLite).
I did setup the initial DNS settings of Snow Leopard Server after the install to the computer's IP address which I assigned manually and left the rest to get from my router's DHCP server. I setup the zone (home.mydomain.com)
Any ideas for the sluggishness.

Iphone 4 wierd screen problem(need help ASAP)

White screen ? need advice !!!

so my bb curve 8330 a few times yesterday i noticed it had a white screen with no error messages. i would press the back key and it would go away but then it happended a few other times too. the phone seems to work ok but im concerned about it. i just updated the os to 4.5 the other day and my network is sprint.
can you guys give me any advice as to what it could be ?

Have you done any battery pulls AFTER receiving these white screens?
What version of the OS did you upgrade? Specifically 4.5.??? (look at Options > About).

Attempted reboot - tech heavy menu screen. Need advice on how to proceed.

I typed Carl-alt-del and before the blue screen came up I typed F10. A tech-heavy menu appeared and I think I am on the right track, but am unsure of what to do now. .

Screen problems, need info

A horizontal grey bar has appeared in the center of my ipod that spans nearly the entire length of the screen. The bar is visible even when the ipod is off but it is not lit up so it is harder to see. I have observed it grow in size and shrink little by little usually by a few pixels at a time. Resetting did not get rid of it and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what's wrong.
The ipod itself has not taken any physical hits that I am aware of but I have not been keeping my eye on it constantly. Also, I keep the ipod in a leather case with a magnetic flip top cover if that is of any use.

I have the same issue with my IPT 32GB. Out of the blue, while watching a movie on a plane a grey bar appeared, small at first, then others and now there is a yellowish area where other bars have appeared and are spreading...
It is still under warranty, so that's good, and Ipod is sending the package so that I can return it.
Wondering if anyone knows what could have caused this? I did not drop it, nor spill liquid whatsoever on it...very strange.

Help Machine_exception problem need advice

Hi, I have been reading up on the problem mentioned throughout the forum, I have just assembled a system around a K8N Neo 2 plat board, athlon 3500 and crossair pc2700 1Gb ram.
Stock settings, but I am expreiencing the above prob, randomly.
Im thinking it may have somthing to do with power supply.
I am unsure as to what all this means but here goes:

+12v - 11.67V (this fig goes up and down every 4-5 secs)
Memory is fine, tried in numerous other systems.

Ran system for over an hour now with no probs.
I have disconected all hds bar c and all optical drives Bar one.
Thinkin this is defo a psu issue.

Need advice for installing flex application in touch screen Kiosks

We have a requirement in one of our project to create touch screen interfaces and I am intending to user Adobe Flex for the development and run them in Adobe Air because, definitely it saves development time and great look and feel.
However, I need advice on how to connect the application to a touch screen events like we do on Keyborad and mouse events like, click() or onFocus etc.

Bar Code Scanners are no different than keyboards in my experience. It just sends the text to whatever application is open. Integrating it with Flex requires no effort. You just have to be sure that Flex is the current application and the field you want to put the data in is given focus.
In a point of sale application with very specific use case and limited interface, it is easy to force the app to give focus to the input field that needs to accept your input.
Credit card swipers work the same way.
I don't know about a weighing scale, but I bet it is very similar. If not, you may want to use Java for scale integration and then use Merapi to integrate with the Java applet.

Major Issues with installing 4tb internal. Really need advice please

In the process of a long needed upgrade to my 2010 Mac Pro Quad core 2.8 and have run into a serious headache that I really need advice on so I can get back to work. I've already spent 2 days dealing with all of this...
Just did a new SSD install and Migration which went fine but I'm also updating the rest of the internal drives. My main (non boot) drive was being upgraded from a Seagate Barracuda 3tb to a 4th Deskstar NAS (it was showing as compatible with my desktop, see links below). My 3tb ran fine for years but now due to it being heavily used I want to switch to a new drive and I can also use a bit more space.
The issue I'm running into is that initially on boot, my system was telling me it couldn't recognize the disk and it wasn't even showing up in Disk Utility. I had to purchase a SATA USB 3 kit to attach it as an external to get it to show which worked without problem. With the USB kit I was then able to partition it (GUID, Mac OS extended journaled) and format it properly. After reinserting the drive into my tower as an internal it failed to show again. After a few attempts of restarts and trying various bays it popped up but showed as a non formatted drive and I was told again that the system didn't recognise it. I was then given the option to initialise and was then actually able to then format and partition it though Disk Utility while it was installed as an internal.
Figured that was problem solved but when I went to check the drive and getting ready to transfer files over I noticed that Disk Utility was only allowing the First Aid and Partition options but not Erase, RAID, Restore which I'd never seen before. I then also noticed that none of the drive connection info was in the same format nor will it even provide drive bay info, connection info or read/write status (See screen shots). This is what I can't figure out and really need to clarify before I put full trust into using this drive.
Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Foxing screen problem N200 swxga

I am stumped with my screen problem and need advice.
Problem:
Vertical line on screen
Shimmering poorly focused graphics
Have changed LCD screen twice
Have changed video cable and inverter
Bios latest. Memory OK
Screen on attached VGA absolutely normal and laptop functions normally even when using intensive applications.
Where do I go from here?

i was gonna offer you to change the video cable but you already have.
have you tried to update graphic cards drivers? maybe it's because of ram faulty, remove one of your ram sticks and check if issue persists.

Firmware v2.1 bricks my camera - Need advice

I need advice. I bought the FS7 a month ago and it came with Firmware 2.0. I have been getting used to the camera and I think it's a great machine, still has some bugs, but manageable. The huge issue I have found it that I cannot upgrade to V2.1 without the camera stopping to function. I do the upgrade procedure as stated by Sony http://bit.ly/1E4o32D Using a 32 GB Class 10 Sony SD card. The .md5 is correct. No lenses or adapters installed, no battery, no cards, not even the grip remote. I have tried several times, even after an ALL RESET. The procedure takes the normal amount of time in step one. When step one gets to 100% it restarts the camera and starts step 2. When step 2 ends, ussually after 9m45s, it pops a screen saying "Software Upgraded" with only one option to click on "Done". Then, I cannot push the "Done" because all buttons in the camere have ceased to respond. Nothing electronic in the body works. The on/off button does not turn off the camera, so I ended up taking the power cord out. After that the camera starts out normally but the buttons will not work. I finnally found out (I was thinking the camera was a brick by this point) that I could use the remote grip buttons. So I have ended up installing V2.0... five times I have tried it. It does not work. Any help please?

Hi Daniel, Thank you for the comments about my training video, but I'm afraid I don't have an answer about your firmware update problem if it's not the HOLD button. To be honest, I have not even bothered to update to 2.1 myself yet. Normally I try to keep my firmware updated, but in this case, I'm too busy and I just don't care enough to bother with it. None of the "improvements" interest me and I'm happy with the camera is running right now. Yes, I am guilty of not following my own advice about keeping the firmware up to date. I guess you can either reach out to Sony or just keep using 2.0 until another update is released. I know what I would do, but I don't want to offer any advice one way or the other. The scene files that can be downloaded from my website were created with v1.1 and I have not seen any reason to update them. They sitll work fine for me and nobody has reported any issues. How to How to install ATI Radeon HD2600 driver on bootcamp 3.0 windows 7 partition w/black screen problem

Ok....so i've posted this question in a different way, and i gotten several "scratch the surface" answers from people just saying to install "Ati catalyst", or insert the os x dvd and run set up.exe, and update to boot camp 3.1 or 3.2...while these all seem like great suggestions, I am finding myself needing more specific direction or "hand holding" so to speak.....here is the MAIN problem...
The Background/history
I used boot camp (3.0, and i found updates for 3.1 for imac and for windows, but can't find for mac pro, AND they all are ".exe" files which run on windows..which as you'll see is the big part of my problem...So I recently updated my mac pro (with the ATI Radeon HD2600 graphic PCIe card with 10.6.7 from 10.5.8. I created a single partitioned drive to install windows 7 professional 64 bit. The download software function didn't work (Thanks, APPLE for that poor level of support) so have to select the option that i have already downloaded, or have other media with the drivers already on it....i restarted with the windows 7 disk in....

So the installation of windows 7 seemed to go flawlessly, was able to use my existing 23" hd apple cinema display (so somehow it has drivers that work with the graphics card, or maybe the motherboard's on board video components) and i select english, and install now, custom, blah, blah, blah...installation causes a few reboots, then restarts ultimately back in os x since that is the default boot os i use on this desk top and have to do the "opt" button to select booting in windows....so when i try restarting in windows, now using the actual boot drive on which i am installing it, it ran through another reboot or two, but then after that, my display goes black.... in the communities, the solution sounds super simple... "go download the ATI catalyst for the black screen problem....windows 7 doesn't have device drivers that work with the ATI radeon hd2600...no problem, just go download and install...."
The problem, re-emphasized : I cannot even finish the install for windows, because of this driver problem....i cannot see anything....I have tried to reboot in safe mode, and that then seems to invoke whatever basic drivers that do work, likely through the motherboards onboard video vs the actual graphic card, and the screen works and says that it's wanting to complete the installation, so i'm thinking awesome this is gonna work....and then.. "windows installation was not completed and cannot be completed in SAFE MODE, need to restart, blah, blah, blah" pops up...and forces reboot...so Safe Mode allows me to see, but won't allow me to finish the install of windows 7...and without completing the install i can't run (ranther I DONT KNOW HOW TO) any of the various .exe files everyone is telling me are the solutions to my problem...like update 3.1 and 3.2 bootcamp...they're all .exe files? not sure why, because bootcamp runs in 10.6.7 i thought, but whatever...it needs running Windows to execute...then the ATI radeon hd2600 driver for windows 7 that i downloaded from the site has an installation program that is an .exe file, which needs windows to run... Does this make sense, why i can't just use these fixes, that seem to be the only fixes out there....so can someone school me step by step here (not just the highlights) of how to update bootcamp, and how to install the ati radeon driver without having been able to complete the windows 7 installation because the monitor goes and stays black????
This is so very frustrating for the record...and any substantial help "not just go download this..." would be immensely appreciated.
Some other things i've been told to try that i've tried and nothing seems to happen as i'm told it will....
---I've been told to install the osx dvd and run "setup.exe" - AGAIN...it's an exe file...and 2 - when i put in the os x file it just wants to re install 10.6...so need more help if this is even a real solution to understand how to make it work...
---I've been told to update boot camp to 3.1 and/or 3.2 from 3.0, using Apple Software Update....Well, my software update is saying everything is up to date and there is nothing new to download at all, and when i reverify the bootcamp version it is still only 3.0.2...and again downloading the updates from www.apple.com/support/ for 3.1 and 3.2...all of those are .exe files...need windows to run them...again, refer to the problem described in detail above...
---I've been referred to the black screen on imac early 2011 thread saying it should fix my problem...and reading it it SEEMED like the most promising resolution...it involves creating a boot flash drive for windows 7 and an xml file that sets the imac drivers to auto install during the windows installation..and it got me farther than anything else..but still ultimately ended up in the darned black screen...my assumption is that it's because it's for imac and not mac pro so not ati-radeon specific drivers....ok....that's enough..please...anyone who thinks they can help...your help is desperately needed...thanks so much in advance!

hey Hatter, thanks so much for getting back...so just to be super clear...is there no way to install the drivers using an exe file given my current state? no way to do it with command prompt or something? if can make work with existing card, i'd prefer it...now when you say it's 'toast' how do you mean? it works well with the os x partitions and always has...so i'm not sure i follow, just want to be clear...
Now to your point of starting with only the one drive installed...so i would put that bootcamp drive in bay 1 and disconnect the rest...i'm not totally sure what you're suggesting the effect should be of doing this? just that i'm just installing windows without the bootcamp deal...but if windows 7 doesn't support the ati radeon hd2600, it still will go black screen no? or you're saying it will run video through the motherboard if it's the only bootdrive, and will run all the way through the windows install without trying to switch over to the hd2600? (slrry flr these questions..just really want to make sure i understand what you're telling me..thanks so much for your patience and help by the way...it's very greatly appreciated...your support is priceless!
So now, assuming none of the above is possible...referring now to the ati 5770 that you referred to...you mention it works with 10.6 well, and that windows 7 supports it ...2 questions on that
1) Windows 7 supports" meaning, out of the box windows 7 supports it? or will i have to install drivers still through some update, because again, if that's how i have to do it, then won't work, cuz can't start windows to see anything to install any drivers or run any thing at all...so it would have to just work with initial installation.
2)hardware wise for my Mac Pro 3,1...intel dual quad core xeon, blah blah....will this card work? it's a PCIe and should fit on my board no prob, etc?
