  • Screensaver with Java 3D

    Hello,
    How can I make a .scr file with my .class file in Java3D? And, another question is, How can I put the animation in fullscreen to do the screensaver?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    a .scr file is the same a .exe file. In order to create a screen saver with java 3d, you must write a .exe file and rename it to .scr.
    The .exe file has to start your java 3d programm. To do so, it must execute javaw with some command line arguments:
    javaw -Dj3d.fullscreen=REQUIRED <pathToYourClass>orjavaw -Dj3d.fullscreen=REQUIRED -jar <yourJarFile>Note: as i know, the fullscreen mode is only available in the DirectX version.
    Ok. Let's assume the name for your java main class is "saver.SaverMain" and you are programming in C, then the main method would look like this:
    int WINAPI WinMain(HINSTANCE hInstance,
                       HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,
                       LPSTR lpCmdLine,
                       INT nCmdShow)
         MSG msg;
         HANDLE hAccelTable;
         hInst = hInstance;
         if (!InitApplication())
              return 0;
         hAccelTable = LoadAccelerators(hInst,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDACCEL));
         if ((hwndMain = CreatejavastarterWndClassWnd()) == (HWND)0)
              return 0;
         int aus=(int)ShellExecute(hwndMain,
                                      "open",
                                      "javaw",
                                      "-Dj3d.fullscreen=REQUIRED saver.Savermain",
                                      NULL,SW_SHOWNORMAL);
         return aus;
    }If you are looking for a free C compiler for Windows, then lcc from http://www.q-software-solutions.com is a nice choice.

  • Problem with Java Script after upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI7

    Dear Colleagues,
    We're facing the issue with Java Script after upgrade of BW 3.5 to BI7.
    Just after update we checked the basic functionality and it occured that some of web templates that use Java Script don't work. They generate seelction screen, but after selection the screen becomes blank without any error messages.
    We're currently stucked since web templates weren't converted to BI7 version so they should work exactly as before the upgrade.
    We compared the Java code with other environment that was not upgraded - it's perfectly the same.
    The only explanation that comes to my mind is that some Java Script settings on the server level were changed during the upgrade but I have no idea where I can check that.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
    Andrzej Bobula

    Hi Deepu,
    Thanks, it was great to read your reply and then few minutes later talk to you live on SDN Day!
    Unfortunately, http cache clean-up did not help. But there is another funny thing I found - for exactly the same 3.5 webtemplate html code returned from WebAS 3.5 was different then from 7.0.
    Unfortunately, this editor does not allow to paste complete code, even in CODE brackets, but here are main differences:
    <b>3.5</b>
       if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer")
    <frame src="/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=E&PAGENO=1&REQUEST_NO=1&CMD=GET_TEMPLATE"
    name="Content">
    and
    <b>7.0</b>
       if (navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft Internet Explorer")!=-1)
    <frame src="/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=E&PAGENO=8&REQUEST_NO=0&CMD=GET_TEMPLATE"
    name="Content" 0nLoad="javascript:loadTitle()">
    (I intentionaly put 0 i/o o in 0nLoad, otherwise Forum's editor does not accept the text.
    How about SAP's claim that technical upgrade from 3.x to 7.0 changes nothing?

  • Screen resolution in Java

    Hi, I am trying to determine the current resolution om my monitor. I remember there was a function waaaaaay back when I programmed with Borland C++, which was getWidth, or getScreenWidth... how can I get the screen resolution in Java? Does anyone know?

    You can get the screen dimensions using the toolkit.
    Eg.
    Toolkit kit = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
    Dimension screenSize = kit.getScreenSize();
    int screenHeight = screenSize.height;
    int screenWidth = screenSize.width;
    The toolkit is in java.awt package.
    Hope this helps

  • Issue with Java applet

    I am having issues with an "inactive plug-in" message in Safari when I want to do something using a Java plug-in.  I searched the communities and sure enough, when I opened Java preferences the box next to "enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications" the box was unchecked so I checked it.   Unfortunately, when I go back into preferences, the box is once again unchecked.  I did find out that I had a Trojan in the user.jar file associated with java but despite taking care of that issue (which for all I know is not related), this issue persists.  All of my software is up to date and from what I gather uninstalling and reinstalling Java is not an option and should not need to be fone.  I'd very much appreciate any input!

    Repairing the permissions of a home folder in Lion is a complicated procedure. I don’t know of a simpler one that always works.
    Back up all data now. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to its present state
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
    Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    chmod -R -N ~
    The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. When a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) appears below what you entered, it’s done. You may see a few error messages about an “invalid argument” while the command is running. You can ignore those. If you get an error message with the words “Permission denied,” enter this:
    sudo !!
    You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
    Next, boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
    When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
    In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset the password.
    Select your boot volume if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • Applet failed to load when visited using HTTPs protocol with Java 7

    We have a java applet on our website which worked for ages. Then Java 7 came out, people installed it. When people with Java 7 visiting our website using HTTPS, the applet failed to load (ClassNotFoundException). The same site and the same applet, when visit using regular HTTP, it works fine.
    People with previous version of Java (1.6.x) can see the applet using either HTTP or HTTPs with no problem.
    Anything we can do on our side to resolve this problem for people with Java 7 and like to stay with HTTPS?
    Googled and didn't see any relevant result. Any pointer would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for the quick response.
    Not much on the stack trace, did a tread dump below.
    It is an application requires login, please sent and email to [email protected] and I will sent you the url and login info by email.

  • Analyzer Not working with Java 1.6

    Does anyone know why Analyzer 7.2.5.3 works ok with Java 1.4.2 even with Java 1.5 versions, but as soon as a client also installs 1.6 it stops working? Also what can I do to alleviate this, without removing 1.6 from machines as it is now our companies standard version.
    Thx in advance.

    I am experiencing the same issue. About 500 users are using Analyzer 7.0. When Java 1.6 is installed on their machine, the loading screen hangs, and never shows the login screen.

  • How to use a progress bar with java mail?

    Hi, i'm new here.
    I want if someone can recommend me how to show a progress bar with java mail.
    Because, i send a message but the screen freeze, and the progress bar never appear, after the send progress finish.
    Thanks

    So why would the code we post be any different than the code in the tutorial? Why do you think our code would be easier to understand? The tutorial contains explanations about the code.
    Did you download the code and execute it? Did it work? Then customize the code to suit your situation. We can't give you the code because we don't know exactly what you are attempting to do. We don't know how you have changed to demo code so that it no longer works. Its up to you to compare your code with the demo code to see what the difference is.

  • Rendering of an 8Bit-tiff with java.awt produces crap

    Hi Folks,
    i do a downsampling of tiff images. The source tiffs are colored 8 Bit greyscale with a 256 color-table. Now i have 2 possibilities to resample with java.awt:
    1. the target-tiff is of 24Bit true color:
    BufferedImage objDownsample = new BufferedImage(iTargetWidth, iTargetHeight, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);The result is a perfect looking, but oversized tiff with 16 million colors each pixel.
    2. the target-tiff is of 8Bit like the source-tiff:
    BufferedImage objDownsample = new BufferedImage(iTargetWidth, iTargetHeight, BufferedImage.TYPE_BYTE_INDEXED,(IndexColorModel)image.getColorModel());The result is a small sized tiff image of 8Bit. Problem: it now has visible vertical stripes of two colors (which both composed result the source-color i assume).
    Does anybody know what's wrong here and how to retrieve the 8Bit color-image without stripes?
    Here comes the whole source:
        private BufferedImage resize(int newHeight, int newWidth, BufferedImage image) {
            int iTargetHeight = newHeight;
            int iTargetWidth = newWidth;
            //Create a BufferedImage that fits
            BufferedImage objDownsample = new BufferedImage(iTargetWidth, iTargetHeight, BufferedImage.TYPE_BYTE_INDEXED,(IndexColorModel)image.getColorModel());
            //A map with all necessary rendering hints to optimize the quality of the image
            Map<java.awt.RenderingHints.Key, java.lang.Object> obj_Map = new HashMap<java.awt.RenderingHints.Key, java.lang.Object>();
            obj_Map.put(RenderingHints.KEY_DITHERING, RenderingHints.VALUE_DITHER_ENABLE);
            obj_Map.put(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
            obj_Map.put(RenderingHints.KEY_INTERPOLATION, RenderingHints.VALUE_INTERPOLATION_BILINEAR);
          // Draw the scaled image
          Graphics2D graphics2D = objDownsample.createGraphics();
            graphics2D.addRenderingHints(obj_Map);
            graphics2D.drawImage(image, 0, 0, iTargetWidth, iTargetHeight, null);
            return objDownsample;
        }Thanks
    Albrecht

    As far as I can tell, this solution only allows compositing within the component that is currently being painted. What would be nice is if I could add a custom composite to say .. a JLabel, which paints based on the colors of the underlying pixel data (ie. from its parent container). In this way you could make a JLabel that always inverts the color of what's underneath.
    Here, painting to the screen using a composite allows me to get the pixels underneath as the destination raster, the pixels in the JLabel as the source raster, and what actually gets painted which is the destination output raster.
    If I paint to a BufferedImage instead, the composite's 'destination raster' is the new BufferedImage's default values which are all black. Thus compositing over this would not have the desired effects described above (inverting the underlying image for instance). The missing piece when rendering to the BufferedImage is first copying the underlying screen data into a BufferedImage before painting to it. How do I do that? Something tells me it's very difficult.

  • Screen Savers in java

    Is anyone aware of the basic method for creating screen savers in java?
    I wrote some code that displays falling matrix code in a window, but I would like to convert the graphic window into a full screen graphic installable as a screen saver.

    Hi Kanagaraja L,
    Thanks for you response.
    No I haven't created Created RFC Destination , this RFC destination will be of my JAVA system ???.
    I have tried creating the partner logical system in WE20 and dine the following steps:
    1. Partner No.   IDES800     Ides 800 System - Sender System
        Partn.Type    LS          Logical system
    2. The tab Post processing : permitted agent is filled with default parameters.
    3. Then in the outbound parameter table control I have pressed the add record button and got a new screen in
        which I have made the following entry :-
      Partner No.           IDES800        Ides 800 System - Sender System
      Partn.Type            LS             Logical system
      Partner Role          LS             Logical system

        Message function
    Under tab Outbound options :
    Receiver Port  = A000000008  (This I have selected from F4 help)
    Basic type = SYNCHRON
    Saved it with the above data.
    Now I am not able to understand how to do the things you have mentioned in 3rd step in your reply.
    What are all the things I have to do kindly tell , as I am very new to Idocs so don't have much knowledge.

  • Spawn Unix Process in same shell with Java

    Hello,
    Does anyone know how to use java to prompt the user for input, execute their command, wait for the command to finish and then prompt them again.
    I am able to prompt the user for input, but if they type 'vi filename' and I execute it, the user never sees the vi screen to edit the file. I would like to be able to allow other programs like 'vi' to use the same command line terminal that the user is currently in with java. Currently executing any command is fine, and I can read the process i/o. The only problem is when a program like 'vi' needs the terminal. Does java prevent that from happening when spawning a process?
    Thanks,
    Rick

    Should this be command line based? There are several graphical java terminal emulators, here's an open source one for instance:

  • I would like to make a screen saver in java.

    I would like to make a screen saver in java. But i do not find in the appropriate documentation classes.
    Can you help me.
    My screen saver may ask a password when the user want to exit it.

    https://jdic.dev.java.net/documentation/incubator/screensaver/
    "The SaverBeans Screensaver SDK (Early Access) is a Java screensaver development kit, enabling developers to create cross-platform screensavers. The developer writes a set of Java classes along with an XML description of the screensaver settings, and uses the tools in this development kit to produce a screensaver for any Java-supported OS. The resulting screensavers behave just like a native screensaver (i.e. with preview capabilities and control over settings)."
    This was found as the first result of a simple google search. You should try it sometime.

  • Can I develop a driver mouse with Java?

    Hi,
    Can you tell me, if I can develop a driver mouse with Java and if not why and with which programming software?
    And do you have a web site or forum reference about driver mouse?
    Best regards,
    Dimnet2000

    Aren't you all a little too hasty with your NOs?
    If the task is to develop a standard plugged-in mouse driver you see and use everyday and that loads together with the bootup process of Linux, Windows... the answer propably is "No" or "better not".
    Other than that... You can draw on the screen and you can communicate with the Serial Port. I think you could very well build your own mouse driver for a non standard Mouse to make it work in all Java applications. If you don't need 100% platform independancy you might think about building modules to trigger OS-Events via JNI.
    For standard use this might not seem a sensible thing to do, but imagine if you are in some way handicapped and need a very special mouse that you want to carry around and use across several platforms without compiling and instaling drivers everywhere...
