Script Events Manager settings don't stick

I'm using Photoshop CS 3 version 10.0 and I can't seem to get Script Events Manager settings to work between launches of the program.
I choose File > Scripts > Script Events Manager.
In the dialog box, I select the Enable Events to Run Scripts/Actions checkbox.
From the Photoshop Event menu I choose Open Document.
I select the Action radio button, then choose the action I want.
I click Add button.
I close Script Events Manager dialog box.
Everything works as intended, until I quit Photoshop and then launch it again, at which point the Script Events Manager settings have reverted to their default state, without my preferred Open action functioning any more.
Is there any way to get my settings to become the new default so I don't have to repeat the above steps every time I launch Photoshop?

Thanks, but I failed to mention I'm running Mac OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite).
It reminds me of failure to save preferences problems I've had in the past with other apps. Repairing prefs with Disk Utility doesn't help, BTW.
Can anyone tell me the file name and location where this Script Events Manager setting is saved? Perhaps deleting that file and restarting will fix the issue…

  • Batch processing with Script Events Manager

    Hello all,
I use the Script Events Manager to run a group of actions on a single file during the file open event.
This workflow works well when dealing with a small quantity of files.
Is there an efficient way to apply simultaneously a group of actions to folder of images?
The PSCC Batch processor, Image Processor and Image Processor Pro only allow the use of one action at a time.
I have try creating a combo action which includes a group of actions to run in the Batch Processor and Image Processor.
When doing so I receive an error message from the Image processor and dialogs that from the Batch processor that suspend
the program activity. I have had no luck with a combo droplet as well.

My system has 8 Gb of Ram and 4 processors. I doubt it's the system. I've had problems with CS Master Collection since day one. My main complaint is the ******* tabs and interface. Everything is so chunky. CS2 was smooth as butter. They keep making their products use more RAM and it's ridiculous. The tabs don't help, they only make life harder.
Thanks for the suggestions, I was hoping not to have to reinstall PS, but looks like it's the only option.

  • Problem with Script Events Manager buttons not showing up

    Hi,
First off let me say that the latest release of Adobe products is a steaming pile of @#$#$.
Countless software issues, it's slow, buggy, you name it.
That being said, has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it.
My Script Events Manager is broken. Yes broken. The only buttons I see are "Done" and "Remove". There is no "Add" button so that I can actually add events. Someone please tell me this is user error and that I don't need to reinstall PS.

  • Script Events Manager like photoshop

Is there any Script event manager available in illustrator as like in photoshop..?

Script Event Manager is a Photoshop script that provides an UI for adding/removing app.notifiers. A quick look at the ESTK Object Viewer for Illustrator does not list notifiers.
You may get a more imformed responce in the Illustrator scripting forum.

  • Click Pad Settings don't stick

I'm using an HP Envy 15 Notebook with Windows 10.  Currently using HP Control Zone v 19.0.1.12.95. Since the upgrade to 10, my clickpad settings (Settings > Devices > Mouse & touchpad > Additional Mouse Options > ClickPad Settings) don't stick after a reboot.  The default 2-finger scrolling seems to be Aussie scrolling, and Pinch Zoom and Rotating default to selected.  If I deselect them and reboot, the settings return to their default.  Is this a Synaptics issue that they need to fix (and that I need to fix each time I reboot until they do), or is there an older driver set I could use? Feel free to move this to the correct board if I chose incorrectly. Thanks!

Hi I have the exact same problem with HP Pavillion and windows 10. Keep turning the pinch zoom setting off and when I restart it defailts back to on again.

  • Problem with JPGs Downlaoded with Nikon Transfer - Can't Apply Develop Settings in Bridge CS4 and ACR 5.3 Settings Don't Stick

I have found what I believe is a "problem" with JPGs downloaded using Nikon Transfer (ver 1.4.1) and processing same in Adobe Bridge CS4 (Develop Settings) and/or Adobe Camera Raw 5.3 (Photoshop CS4 and Elements 6 as hosts).
Anyone using these programs in their workflow?
The problem, quite simply, is that neither ACR settings (nor Bridge CS4 Develop Settings) "stick" when applied to JPGs that have been downloaded via Nikon Transfer ver 1.4.1.
The same images from the same cameras (D300 and D90), downloaded moments later using Nikon's predecessor software PictureProject work just fine in both Bridge and ACR.  Develop Settings appled in Bridge immediately are seen, and JPGs opened in ACR, and settings applied, then "Done" immediately stick and are reflected in Bridge.
If someone else is processing their JPGs in this manner, please let me know, as I have reported the problem to both Nikon and Adobe, and although I have tested it on two different cameras and two differnt laptops, I would like to get an impartial result as well.
One other test, the problem does not seem to affect Nikon's RAW (NEF) format files downloaded from a D2x using Nikon Transfer.  More/different test are forthcoming.
    Thanks

Can't say one way or another on that statement about using manufacturers' software.  Since Adobe has to interpret each camera models' RAW format having the latest ACR seems to be the best option.  But if the manufacturers' software is more convenient, and you get the same results then use it.  But it does appear you are not getting what you want, so suggest you try a duplicate test run with images straight from the card reader to Bridge and see if you still have same problems.
I do know it is widely recommended that using a quality card reader gives you more reliable data than getting the pictures straight from the camera.  Does not seem intuitive, but that has been experience of many.

  • Mail account settings don't stick

My verizon POP account settings don't stay put (peak time for download, mail size, warn on delete, delete mail on server). I set them the way I want, but when I go back a day later they have reset to where they were before.
Worst offender is probably the delete from server. I've lost several key messages without warning.
Is ther a way to make them stay put?

Thanks for posting.  It sounds like the settings you are entering are not the correct ones that should be set for your mobile settings.  When did this start happening with your email settings?  As far as deleing messages from the server – that can be managed from outlook.  Do you use outlook?  If so, what version?  Please repost so I can help you get this issue resolved.  Thank you.

  • Address Book Distribution List Settings Don't Stick

Is there a bug in Address Book for distribution lists? When I attempt to edit an address book distribution by changing the default email, the setting does not stick. I can select a bold any address for a contact with multiple addresses, but then when I go back in and look at the distribution list, it goes back to the previous email and not the one I selected.

I was having a very similar problem.  For some individuals, I could change the preferred e-mail address in edit distribution list, but not for others.  After some messing around, I discovered that the only people whose settings didn't stick were those whose first e-mail listed in the Edit Distribution List sheet was a facebook.com e-mail.  If they had a Facebook e-mail that wasn't first in the list, I could change them.
The order of e-mail addresses in the Edit Distribution list and the individual cards wasn't the same. e.g. I couldn't reset my husband's e-mail address because in Edit Distribution, his facebook.com address was listed first.  But it was listed last on his actual card.
I fixed things by going to System Preferences, Mail Contacts & Calendars, locating my Facebook account in the list, and unchecking "contacts."   The facebook.com addresses disappeared in contacts, and the changes I made in Edit Distribution list stuck.

  • Windows Power Management settings don't work with ITunes

Purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex system a few weeks ago with a 3.2 Ghz Pentium processor, 1 gigabyte of RAM, and 160 GB of hard drive - so a nice, new, fast system running Windows XP.
I set my Power Management settings to go to screen saver after 20 minutes, and power down after 45 minutes. It worked just fine for a month, and the day I downloaded Itunes onto this computer, those settings do not work.
    I have reset them.
I have changed them (to as little as one minute).
I have changed them back to the original settings.
    I have rebooted my computer.
I have run 2 different spyware programs (Spybot and Adaware) as well as run an anti-virus scan (TrendMicro Housecall).
Nothing has changed, and my only conclusion is that Itunes is somehow interfering with the power settings for my computer and monitor. This is rather frustrating, as I'd like my computer to shut off on its own if someone walks away (I can't trust my kids to log off on their own).
Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Hi, I just bought my iPhone a couple of days ago and am having the same problems.
I have a Macbook at home, but need to be able to sync with my work computer for contacts and calendar. At work I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP 2 and MS Outlook 2003 SP 3. I've made sure to update all MS software. I'm running on iPhone 1.1.3 and iTunes 7.6.
My contacts sync fine, but, so far, no luck with my calendar. I've gone through the trouble of completely deleting everything off my calendar and am trying "test" appointments to no avail. What's really frustrating is that I've logged out of my ID on this computer and logged in using a test ID. I can successfully sync a test appointment following those steps.
Tech support tells me that since I'm successful under those conditions, it must be a corrupt entry on my main calendar. But, as I've mentioned, I deleted everything I can find off my main calendar and am still not able to get it to sync successfully.
    This is quite frustrating.

  • Color Settings\Colorsync settings don't stick when setting printing presets

    Hello
Posting this here, instead of in the iPhoto Forum
In the "Print" dialog box (the dialog box you see after you pass through the iPhoto dialog box - same type of box as with most other OS X applications), there is a down menu to give you access to several categories of settings related to the print job.
Here of course you can save printing presets (paper type, print quality, color management, etc).
Why do ColorSync settings under the "Color Matching" dropdown not get saved with the other presets? Every time, the profile setting defaults to "Automatic". Is this a bug or is there something I am not doing correctly? Is there a good reason why they aren't saved along with other settings? Apple on-screen Help says "some settings cannot be saved in a profile, but this would seem to be a very handy thing?
I use an Epson Artisan 800.
Alternatively, can someone tell me what the behavior is of the "Automatic" setting?
I recently profiled the printer and I am just looking for an easy/quick way at the time of printing to apply one of the three profiles based on the type of paper that is being used. I just figured this would be the easiest way to do it? (my question applies to any application - I posted here because this is of particular importance with iPhoto)
BTW Is it me or is there surprisingly little information online about ColorSync workflows/behavior/relationships in OS X?
Many thanks for any and all advice.
    Justin

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all please update the RDC version to RDP 8.1 for better functionality. Then try to install below updates for windows 7 and check the result.

  • Notification Settings don't stick

    I'm running Yosemite (10.10)
I have 3 Macs and this happens on all 3.  (mid 2011 Macbook Air 13", Late 2013 iMac 27", 2013 Macbook Air Retina 15")
I go into Notification settings and then click on Messages.  I change the Messages alert style from Banners to Alerts (because I like it to stay on the screen when someone messages me).  Then a few hours or so later it changes back to Banners on it's own.
    Anyone know what's going on?

Here are the instructions I got from AppleCare from an Apple Engineer. I'm not sure if the fix was specifically for my machine or if it'll work for someone else. Follow at your own risk.
    1. Open the Library folder in your Home folder.
    2. In the Library folder, open the Application Support folder.
    3. Locate the folder named NotificationCenter. Drag this folder to the desktop.
    4. Next, open the Terminal application.
Copy and paste each line of these commands into the Terminal window, in order. Press return after each line:
    cd `getconf DARWIN_USER_DIR`
    rm -rf com.apple.notificationcenter
    killall usernoted; killall NotificationCenter
    5. Close the Terminal app.
    6. Restart your computer.
The notification preference changes won't stick until you restart a 2nd time after this.

  • Fade settings don't stick

the fade in and out settings for audio and video don't keep their values. when i set a fade out time of 2 seconds. edit something else and come back to the setting the time is back to 0 … same goes to the audio fade setting. i had this issue with compressor 3.5 and now only just bought version 4 in hope that this would be fixed but … no.
so i wonder what am i missing to for example put a 2 second fade to black and silence at the end of my movie.
any hint or information to do this or that this is a known issue is appreciated,
    thanks,
    ab.

Yes. It keeps all video filter attributes: duration, opacity and color – switching from video to audio filters…retains the effect throughout and after submitting job.
BTW, no video link provided in your post, but (and I never noticed this before) it seems that the act itself of making an adjustment results in a checked box. So it appears my suggestion is a dead end.
Have no idea why it's not working fro you. Sorry.

  • Messages settings don't stick

I keep having to reset how I want my messages displayed every time I launch Messages.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

    Hi,
Most of the Messages Menu > Preferences and some of the Menus items like the one you describe are held in com.apple.ichat.plist
In the Finder use the Go Menu > Go to Folder and type in ~/Library/Preferences
Or Copy the Bold text from here and Paste it in the dialogue box that appears.
    Find the com.apple ichat.plist item
Highlight it then right click and chose Get Info (you can also highlight and then use CMD + i keys together)
At the bottom of the Info panel that appears  is the Ownership and Permissions info.
Your Shortname should be in the list, followed by the word me in parentheses (Me)
If you highlight this you should have Read And Write Permissions
If you now click the cogwheel type icon at the bottom it should have the phrase "Make yourshortname (me) the owner" but it should be greyed out as if already done.
If you Own this .plist then use the Finder > View Menu > Show Path Bar
Right click the Preference Folder in this bar and select Get Info and confirm you own and Read and Write permissions to this folder.
    Repeat for the Library itself.
    Example of the Preferences selected.
That is to say you have to Own and have Read and Write permissions to the containing Folders as well as the file itself.
    However...
Although this is the place that the info is stored it is not the route that Messages takes to Write the info.
Double click the Library item in the Path Bar  so that you see it's contents.
    Open the Containers item.
    Then the com.apple.ichat folder.
Open the Data folder followed by Library and again Preferences
If we were using the method above it would be ~/Library/Containers/coma.pple.ichat/Data/Library/Preferences
    Long pic
You will notice that many of the items in this folder are in fact Aliases.
They have the little curved arrow on the bottom left.
If you do a Get Info on the Alias you will find it points to the file we looked at earlier
However repeat the Get Info on all the containing Folders in the Path Bar and check you have Ownership and Read and Write permissions on Containers, com.apple.ichat, Data, the Library and Preferences folders in this path.

  • No wireless status bars - airport settings don't stick

I just got a new Macbook Pro 17" and loaded Leopard. The wireless strength indicator shows no bars even though I have the box checked to "show status in menu bar". It also says airport is not configured, even though I have configured it. I can find my wireless (airport extreme) network and get online but it doesn't seem to remember the settings and loses the network. I downloaded and installed the latest software updates but wondering if there is a airport update out there.
My 24" iMac with Leopard loaded works perfectly fine. My Airport extreme is about a year or so old. Not the latest product.

  • Energy Saver settings don't "stick"

It seems like at random times the settings I have set in Energy Saver, which I lock, become "unlocked." For example, I have Energy Saver set to put the display to sleep after 8 minutes of inactivity and for the hard drive to go to sleep after 10 minutes. The lock in the lower left corner of System Preferences is locked...for sure.
It'll work fine; then one day I'll lift the lid on the MacBook; use it for awhile; will set it down, thinking it'll go to sleep if I'm not back in 10 minutes; I'll come back an hour later, only to find that while the MacBook's screen is off, the HDD did NOT go to sleep as it's set to. I'll open System Preferences, and find that somehow the lock in Energy Saver is now UNlocked.
How does this happen? Am I missing something here? What causes the Energy Saver lock to become "unlocked?" I've been burned by having a drained battery several times, and I can't figure out what I'm missing to ensure this doesn't happen as REPEATEDLY as it is?

Keep in mind that the "Energy Saver" lock is the same lock as all the other system Preferences locks. If one is unlocked they all are.
My Macbook never has gone to Sleep on it's own, ore rarely if at all. I have attributed it to a 56 dialup accelerator that I use as that program also causes it to take about 31 seconds to go to sleep any time you manually select Sleep from the menu. I just point this out because maybe you have some application that is causing a problem with Sleep.
