Script listener for Bridge?
Sure would be nice to have a script listener plug-in for the Bridge.
Is there one available?
Larry
Bob,
It is a plug-in that comes with Photoshop. You can put it in the plug-in folder. In Photoshop CS2 it is "ScriptListener.8li".
In Photoshop, it generates JavaScript and Visual Basic code whenever you perform a function. The code is written to a log file that
you can cut and paste into you script. It is a way of getting code for functions that are not included in the JavaScript
implementation for Photoshop.
Here is an example of Fit image on screen:
var id57 = charIDToTypeID( "slct" );
var desc15 = new ActionDescriptor();
var id58 = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
var ref6 = new ActionReference();
var id59 = charIDToTypeID( "Mn " );
var id60 = charIDToTypeID( "MnIt" );
var id61 = charIDToTypeID( "FtOn" );
ref6.putEnumerated( id59, id60, id61 );
desc15.putReference( id58, ref6 );
executeAction( id57, desc15, DialogModes.NO );
It is very useful in Photoshop. It would be great if it were available in Bridge for the writing of JavaScript scripts.

AH Menu Generator & Script Launcher for Bridge
This is the beta version of a script that automates the creation of a menu for launching scripts from Bridge to run in a target Application. You can easily add and remove scripts from the menu. There are four modes for running scripts:
1. Left click: runs the script in the target app.
2. Shift-LeftClick: for each file selected in Bridge, opens the image in the target app, runs the script on it, then closes the image.
3. Ctrl-LeftClick or Cmd-LeftClick: same as 2 but leaves the images open.
4. Shift-Ctrl-LeftClick or Shift-Cmd-LeftClick: sends the list of selected files to the target app / script. The list is in the form of a string called ah_BridgeFilesAsString. The target script can 'eval' this to get the original file object list and do whatever it wants with it.
This script will be developed a lot further in the coming months and will probably get both more powerful and more simple for users. I may well end up running everything from the Edit Dialog, but for now it works via the menus.
For download, demo pics and instructions:

AndrewI don't see the paperclips. I looked in IE also (I normally use Firefox) and not there either.
At the very bottom of the screen, it says "You cannot download files in this forum", so I suspect that some piece of software is hiding the files from me.
The entire text in the bottom right corner is:

Where's the InDesign Script Listener plugin for Extendscript?
Is there anything similar to Photoshop's Script Listener plugin for InDesign for ExtendScript?
No, there is no such a plug-in for InDesign.

Is there a way to create my own web gallery template for bridge?
Is there a way to create my own web gallery template for bridge?
I want to add custom data that is not in any of the templates.
Pretty much, I'd like to create one from scratch...This was discontinuted in CS5 howerver you could migrate that plugin to CS5. I don`t know if you can do this with CS6.
To my knowledge they only provided a revised Contact sheet II script for CS6. In my opinion a very bad idea because they should have put all efforts and resources to enhance the Output Module PDF contact sheet that has far more options.
Still not using web galleries but the goal for web gallery was also to use this in the Adobe Output Module, maybe that provides you the options you want? -
How to stop and start MDBs to listen for JMS messages
Hello! This might be more of an architecture question rather than a technical questing, but I post it here, in the lack of a better place...
For several years I have been using Webster and Webster MQ to send messages back and forth to clients. The architecture for the middleware platform has been designed around the functionality of ListenerPorts. Listenerports is a Webster functionality that let you "stop" and start to listen to JMS messages for a given MDB either by admin console, or by JMX.
The arhitecture we used was something like this :
1.Client sends a persistent message to a queue. (order)
2. An MDB pics up the order message, calls a SessionBean that "fronts" the IIOP back end system.
This is quite "out of the box" architecture, but we used the Listenerports to solve a stability problem for our back end system.
The backEnd system was quite unstable, so the EJB threw an exception (typically because of timeout or connection refused) back to the MDB.
The Listenerport was "defined" to handle 3 errors before stopping, so the MDB resent the message twice before the listenerport automatically stopped. The nice thing about this feature was that the client could continue to send orders, and was not bothered when the back end system was down.
When the backEnd system was up and running, we could start the listenerport and it was all back to normal state. We even had a start script that checked the state of the listenerport every 30 minute, and started it automatically if it was stopped, making the admin task of starting the MDB unnecessary..
Now.. Why am I telling this story..
I would like to know how this could be done using "clean" J2EE technologies..That is..Not using any technology that is not portable..
I`m playing with glassfish at home, and it struck me that there is nothing in the J2EE spec that defines the functionality described above ? Am i missing something ?
I Do not want to stop My application because the back end system is down? That is the only way (i know of) that i can "stop" to listen for messages..
I can put all the messages on an error queue when the backbend system is down, but that would lead to more code just to handle the error messages. Maybe the easiest way to solve this is to "move" (programmatically) all messages from the error queue over to the "standard" queue every XX minute, but somehow that sounds "wrong"
Can anyone give me some advice to how this problem situation should be solved ? I`m interested in the solution both from an architectural perspective and from a more technical perspective..
Best regards
Hans-Jacob MelbyBreakpoints, whether normal or conditional, are just meant for debugging of your code. I had the sense from your question that the pausing you want to do is a part of normal operation of your code. I would NOT recommend using a breakpoint for that situation. It would bring up the block diagram showing the breakpoint when it occurs. A user besides the programmer would not know what to do in that case.
Yes, both the inner and outer loops would have shift registers.
Putting a case structure with a small while loop inside the "Pausing Case" is doable. It just depends on what you are doing or waiting for while the program operation is "paused". -
Photoshop CS6 Startup Script Missing from Bridge CC
Hi. After downloading a Photoshop CS6 update, Camera Raw unlinked from Bridge CS6. I have a full CC subscription so I downloaded Bridge CC and that solved the problem. Now Photoshop does not appear in the 'tools' menu. It is missing from the Startup Script list in preferences as well. Where can I find or download the photoshop script?
On a mac, using Mavericks.
Thank you!Bump. Any solutions yet?
restart Bridge holding down option (Mac) or ctrl (Win) key ad from the menu choose reset references. Try again. BTW, the start up scripts from the needed applications for Bridge Tool menu are in Bridge preferences / Start up scripts, they should show and have a checkmark in front of them. -
Creating adjustment layers without Script Listener code
I'm assuming it's possible to create an adjustment layer without Script Listener code, but I can't figure out how. I can create a normal layer and change it to a text layer and that seems to be about it. I was specifically trying to create a Photo Filter layer. I can do it with Script Listener code, but now I'm just curious.
Example:
adjLayer=app.activeDocument.artLayers.add().kind=LayerKind.TEXT; <--This works.
adjLayer=app.activeDocument.artLayers.add().kind=LayerKind.PHOTOFILTER; <--Does not work.
It allows changing to/from either a normal or text layer only. There is also a photoFilter() method which allows adjusting the values of a Photo Filter layer but only if one already exists.
So it appears that the add() method in the artLayers collection is only good for adding a normal or text layer. Is there any way to add an adjustment layer (other than using Script Listener code)?
Am I missing something simple?jugenjury wrote:

It could be me that is missing something but photoFilter() applies that filer to an artLayer. It doesn't work with a photoFilter adjustment layer. -
I have a FLVPlayer with a skin on stage and I want to listen for the player going into full screen mode when the skin's fullscreen button is clicked. And I want to listen for it going back to normal but I think that is easy enough, I just listen for the escape key, I think. How do I do that?

you should not try and control a user's browser window. but, if you insist, you'll need to use javascript.

All I get is the dreaded "Waiting for Bridge CS6..." message where the image thumbnails should be.
Yes, yes... I did open Bridge CS6 manually and it works fine.Same exact symptons here. System info if that helps.

I am curious, how can you have a child mxml page listen for
an event from the parent?
Let's say you have a button, call it 'btn1' on page1.mxml and
you want to listen for the click event on page2.mxml. So far this
is what I have:
page1.mxml:
<mx:Button id="btn1" />
page2.mxml:
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private function btnListener(e:MouseEvent){
Application.application.btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,
setState(1));
]]>
</mx:Script>"spacehog" <[email protected]> wrote in

Single SSL Web Listener for hosting multiple web sites
Hi All,
We are currently hosting multiple websites with Single HTTP Web Listener .. As of now it's everything is working fine..
Now we have planned to have SSL for the hosted sites
Each hosting site will have different SSL Certificates and i am little confused to use Single SSL Web Listener to host multiple web Sites...
Can any one guide me to use Singel SSL Listener for using all hosted sites..
We are having TMG on DMZ Network on Single Nic..
KJSUBBUHi,
it is no problem to host multiple SSL websites with only one IP address / certificate on the TMG Server. Only the authentication options for the published websites must be unique, because you cannot use multiple authentication options in one Listener
TMG Server uses HTTPS to HTTPS bridging, so you can use Host header and more to distinguish between the different internal websites:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc995178.aspx
Regarding the SSL certificate on the internal webservers. TMG must trust the issuing certificate authority which issued certificates for these websites and the name you used to connect from the TMG Server to the internal webserver must part of the CN (Common
Name) or SAN (Subject Alternate Name) on the certificates of the webservers

Contact sheet 2 for bridge CS5

Contact Sheet 2 for Bridge has disappear from Bridge CS 5. Does someone know
where I can get the plugin? Right know I have to go back to Bridge CS4 which

It did not disappear from CS5 but already from CS4 and has been replaced
with the Output Module.
Only downside of the Output Module is you can only save them as a PDF file
but for the rest you have far more options to create your own customized
template (and in CS5 save this templates) for far more superior contact
sheets.
You did already placed the old contact script in the CS4 edition by
yourself. There is a workaround to get it again in CS5 only you have to use
PSCS5 in 32-bit mode because the old and long ago discontinued Contact Sheet
script is not compatible with the 64 bit mode PSCS5 is written in.
Find your CS4 Contactsheet plugin (Apllications / PSCS4 / Plug-ins/Automate/
ContactSheetII.plugin) and copy this to the same path in CS5
Wiith PSCS5 closed select the application icon and choose get info. Inhere
put a checkmark in front of 'start in 32 bit mode'.
See also this Knowledge base article:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4047
To be honest, I was not pleased either first time they dropped
ContactSheetII. But after heaving explored the Output Module in Bridge and
getting used to it's nice options I really don't want to go back to the old
script... -
Is it possible to trigger something when a menu item it selected? I DON'T mean to create a menu item and the assign a script to it, but for example listen for a user clicking Search from the Help menu in Safari?
If so, could someone point me in the right direction please.
Thanks.+Short answer...+
No. AppleScript does not work this way. -
How can mc_instance listen for MouseEvent?
hello;
my_mc_instance.addEventListener( MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN ,
a_function ) ;
I do not understand why my_mc_instance even knows what a
mouseevent is; for instance, I have to know what a "knock on the
door" is before I can listen for it;
movieclips DO NOT inherit from: Mouse or MouseEvent or even
Event;
movieclips inherit from:
MovieClip --> Sprite --> DisplayObjectContainer -->
InteractiveObject --> DisplayObject --> EventDispatcher
--> Object
so how do they even know what a MouseEvent is?
it would seem to me that trying to add a mouseevent listener
to my_mc_instance would never fire since movieclips do not inherit
any mouse-related stuff;
furthermore, according to MovieClip.as, MovieClip class
already has methods that are apparently firing for the mouseevents:
ActionScript Code:
function onMouseDown():Void;
function onMouseMove():Void;
function onMouseUp():Void;
function onPress():Void;
function onRelease():Void;
function onReleaseOutside():Void;
function onRollOut():Void;
function onRollOver():Void; ...
which makes me wonder why it is even necessary to add
mouse-related listeners to an mc;
any thoughts?
thanks
dsdsdsdsdHey,
The reason movie clips dispatch mouse events is because movie
clips inherit from InteractiveObject. All InteractiveObjects
dispatch mouse events, so naturally, movie clips dispatch mouse
events.
For an object to be able to dispatch events, it doesn't have
to inherit from the specific event class (MouseEvent class), just
another class that dispatches those events (InteractiveObject).
The script you included contains methods from AS2. You can't
use them in AS3, so the only way to trigger anything with the mouse
is to add event listeners. -
Use 1 listener for multiple database in a server
hi guys,
just want to check whether this is the right way to configure my Listener.ORA . I am using 1 listener.ora to listen for incoming request connection from remote client. There are multiple databases installed in a server.
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ora03)(PORT = 1521))
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = O11R2)
(ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = O11R2)
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = O10G)
(ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = O10G)
)sorry i am reading about it so did not install another database to test out. Just thinking in the line that it mention that the list of SID is refering to the multiple database that is installed in a server and i am using 1 listener.
Please further advice.Shivananda Rao wrote:

SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = AAAA)
(ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1)

(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = BBBB)
(ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1)
(SID_NAME = BBBB)
)thanks !
