Script LiveCycle Web Services long lived

Hi,
I have a script to call web services (in fact short-lived livecycle process).
I want to call a long lived process with script to. So I try to use the asynchronous method with soap.request but I'm lost.
I wonder if anybody has an example of how to script a call to a long lived process in adobe script because all process use the invoke method.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

In the SOAP.request method, there is the ORequest object with the invoke method.<br /><br />The cMethod is set at the line : var result = mySync.result("invoke"); <br /><br />----------------------------------------<br /><br />I scripted my short-lived web services (with the .invoke() method ) because I cannot drag and drop the result by the data connection wizard.<br /><br />I will test the connexion wizard for the long Lived process call. It's true, I don't need to script.<br /><br />-----------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />I try to rewrite my script for the short lived process call. Because I used this kind of code : <br /><br />function callWS(URL,objet){<br /><br />     var service = SOAP.connect(URL);<br /><br />     if(typeof service != "object")<br /><br />          xfa.host.messageBox("Couldn't get WSDL object");<br /><br />    if(service.invoke == "undefined")<br /><br />        xfa.host.messageBox("Couldn't get webservicex.invoke Call");<br />        <br />     var param;<br /> <br />     param =<br />        {<br />      nom_client:objet,<br />        };<br />         <br /><br />    var e;<br />    var cXMLDoc;<br />    var nb = 0;<br /><br />    try<br />    {   <br />         var result = service.invoke(param);<br />         <br />          if((result == "") | (result == null))  {<br />        <br />               result = "<no results returned>";<br />             return (false); <br />             <br />          }else{               <br />          <br />               for(var nItemCount in result)<br />            {<br />                cXMLDoc = result[nItemCount];<br />            }<br />               myXML = XMLData.parse( cXMLDoc,false);<br />        }<br /><br />      }catch(e) {<br />          <br />          xfa.host.messageBox("exception "+e);      <br />     }<br />}<br /><br />But with this code, I cannot use the authenticator object.<br /><br />With SOAP.request, I can use the authenticator object but I don't know how to get the result of my web service.<br /><br />For example : <br /><br />function callWS(URL){<br /><br />    var cXMLDoc;<br /><br />    try<br />    {  <br />              console.show();<br />              SOAP.wireDump = true;<br />                    <br />               var myAuthentication = {<br />                    Username: "administrator",<br />                    Password: "password"<br />               };<br />                <br />               var response = SOAP.request({<br />                    cURL: URL,<br />                    oRequest: {<br />                         "http://sw0052.phys.pack/soap/services/:invoke":{}<br />                    },<br />                    oAuthenticate: myAuthentication<br />               });<br /><br />      }catch(e) {<br />          <br />          xfa.host.messageBox("exception "+e);      <br />     }<br />}<br /><br />In the javascript Console there is the XML I need But I don't know how to retrieve the value.<br /><br /><?xml version="1.0"?><br /><SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><br />     <SOAP-ENV:Body><br />          <ns0:invoke SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:ns0="http://sw0052.phys.pack:8080/soap/services/NumeroDemande/"/><br />     </SOAP-ENV:Body><br /></SOAP-ENV:Envelope><br /><br /><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><br /><soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><br />     <soapenv:Body><br />          <invokeResponse xmlns="http://sw0052.phys.pack:8080/soap/services/NumeroDemande/"><br />               <ns1:resultat xsi:type="ns1:XML" xmlns:ns1="http://adobe.com/idp/services"><br />                    <ns1:document><?xml version="1.0"?><br />                                                  <Formulaire><br />                                                       <NumeroDemande><br />                                                            <Numero type="int">17</Numero><br />                                                       </NumeroDemande></Formulaire><br />                    </ns1:document><br />               </ns1:resultat><br />          </invokeResponse><br />     </soapenv:Body><br /></soapenv:Envelope><br /><br />I tried several methods with response with no results. <br /><br />Thanks

  • Problem to integrate Adobe LiveCycle Web Service to BizFlow

      I have problem in integrating BizFlow with Adobe LiveCycle Web Service. We use LiveCycle Output Service module, it has Web Service, EJB, Remoting and REST for external application to call. Then I try to create a Web Service Application in BizFlow to call that LiveCycle Web Service.
       The LiveCycle project is input an XML parameter from Web Service then fill in the LiveCycle form to generate PDF then send it to an email address.
       The problem is BizFlow can only accommodate with RPC Web Service and does not work with other web service, and in default LiveCycle only present Document style Web service to external. We have problem in integration.
      Anyone could give some information on how to integrate BizFlow and LiveCycle service? Like can LiveCycle present RPC protocol Web Service?
    The help is highly appreciated

    I did fine a solution to this, which was to use the distiller Web service for PostScript files.

  • Shell Script Invoke Web Service

    Hi,
    Would someone help me out on how to use shell script to invoke Java Web Service?
    Thanks

    Web service calls are HTTP POST calls from client. You can manually construct the SOAP message send it across to web service URL.

  • Asynchronous Web Service Request-Reply Invocation from Service Control

    Hi all
    I need to invoke a reliable web service call using a Service Control. when trying to make that invocation for an operation that returns data. It gives the following exception. For the methods that marked with @Oneway() annotation in the service implementation, it works.
    javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: Reliable messaging will only work with one way messages or asynchronous request/response messages.
    </bea_fault:stacktrace></detail>]; nested exception is:
    weblogic.wsee.jaxrpc.soapfault.WLSOAPFaultException: Reliable messaging will only work with one way messages or asynchronous request/response messages.
    Caused by: java.rmi.RemoteException: SOAPFaultException - FaultCode [{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server] FaultString [Reliable messaging will only work with one way messages or asynchronous request/response messages.

  • Asynchronous web service call from Redwood

    Hi Everyone,
    Build version M33.104.
    We have a scenario where we have to call an asynchronous web service.
    From the documentation i understand that the Redwood job will be in status Running until the web service completes.
    How does the call back work from the web service to Redwood? How does Redwood know the asynchronous web service job completed?
    From the documentation, the per-requisite is:
    callback to UpdateJob1 web service at ServerAddress with JobId and FinalStatus as Out parameters
    Should i create two out parameters for the web service job definition in Redwood? one JobId and another FinalStatus?
    How do i get the URL to UpdateJob1 web-service, so that i can make my web service, call it, to update the Redwood job that called it?
    thanks

  • Validating Web Services

    Hi,
    I wanted to know what was the best mechanism to add validation to Web Service testing through ETest.
    For example, record and playback is quite easily done through ETest. But how can one determine if the response SOAP was the correct one. What type of test needs to be added to the script to make it check the response.
    Please suggest, as I need to make my script check Web Services in detail.
    Thanks

  • Using Web Service from LiveCycle PDF Dynamic Form.

    I have developed Staff Attendance Sheet about 7 years ago using Microsoft Office Web Componenets Data Access Pages (OWC DAP).
    See image below of the current report using OWC DAP:
    http://bit.ly/cAfeYs
    Since we are moving our legacy systems to SAP, this report will have to be re-implemented using Adobe LiveCycle PDF which is connecting to Web Service over SAP Systems (since OWC does not connect to Web Service).
    The SAP development team have developed the initial webservice which generates the required data.
    I have developed the initial version of the LiveCycle PDF, which can be downloaded from this link:
    http://bit.ly/9KBgm0
    The following is a screen snapshot of the LC Desinger Form:http://bit.ly/cxMK62
    When the web service is executed from inside PDF the result looks as follows:
    http://bit.ly/cacbCg
    The webservice accepts the following required parameters:
    1. Period: YYYYMM. User Specified Value.
    2. Staff ID: 9999999. It must be supplied automatcially to the web service and it must be the Windows ID of the User Logged In to Windows
    Domain.
    Other parameters are optional.
    Assumptions:
    ==========
    1. I am not using any Adobe Forms Server Technology. I can use LiveCycle Desinger ES2 and LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server.
    2. I can alse develop using .NET to get the Logged In User ID (Windows), generate the XDP from ASPX Page and attach the XML to the XDP.
    3. We are using IE8 with Adobe Reader 9 Plugin (IE add-on) to display LiveCycle PDF inside IE.
    Questions:
    ========
    1. First time the webservice is executed, I will get a prompt to allow/deny execution of the webservice. This is a security issue here, becuase we do not want any user to know the link to the Web Service. How we can hide the link to the webservice and prevent any user from getting the link ?
    2. How I can stop the Prompt to Allow/Deny execution to the Web Service for good ? As you know, users will get confused, and when we launch this PDF, it will generate a lot of calls to the Service Desk (more than 1000 users).
    3. The Web Service uses Simple User Name/Password for authentication to run the webservice. I need to embed the User Name/Password inside
    the PDF, and also prevent any user for getting them, how ?
    4. I want to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Web Service Automatically which is the Logged In User ID (Windows). This is the same value of the "Login Name" which can be accessed using Acrobat JavaScript. But the problem, this script must be trusted, and it will be a long story. Any ideas how to implement this requirement using simple methods ?
    5. If I manage to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Webservice automatically (Logged In User ID), also, I want to prevent the user from sending a different user ID, ie, prevent him from using Import Data to Form to specify a Different User ID for the Webservice Parameter. How ?
    I appreciate your help if you have any ideas about the above.
    Tarek.

    Hi Tarek,
    First of all, Thank for your replying.
    I have developing Adobe LiveCycle xdp form with a button. The SAP Web Service will be called when the button is pressed.
    Before that, I ‘m able to call another ASP.NET web services by using SOAP.request call. However, when I apply the code to call SAP web service, it doesn’t work. I checked that the web service is valid. And I found that there is something wrong when implementing the SOAP.request call. But I have no idea what wrong is it. So, I beg your help
    The following is the code in the click event of the button:
    //mainData.sfMain.Button7[1]::click - (JavaScript, client)
        var webServiceEndPoint = "http://xxxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DEDB492BB032E7F1B09F001CC4FBCEC9/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?s ap-client=300";
        var staffIDInput = "9999999";
        var oAuthenticator = {
        Username: "usr",
        Password: "pw"
    app.alert("1");
        var response = SOAP.request({
           bEncoded: false,
           cResponseStyle: SOAPMessageStyle.Message,
           cURL: webServiceEndPoint,
           oRequest: {"urn:Z_RFC_GET_STAFF_BANK_INFO":{A_STAFF_ID: staffIDInput}},
             cAction: "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions",
            oAuthenticate: oAuthenticator
    app.alert("2");

  • How to invoke a short lived process using web service start point?

    I have a custom short-lived process that does not take any input parameter. I am able to successfully invoke the process from LiveCycle Workbench ES2. I want this process to be invoked by a java client through a web service call. Apart from the web service URL of my process (which looks like
    http://<server>:<portno>/soap/services/MyApplication/MyProcess?wsdl&lc_version=9.0.0&versi on=1.0) do the java client know anything else? Any authentication is required?
    My intention is to just find out what all the consumer of this process needs to know to invoke it through a web service call.
    Was anybody able to test a short-lived process through a web service invocation from SoapUI?

    I am not a programmer but I did find this article on he Developers Resource site that might lead you in th eright direction:

  • Is it possible to invoke external REST web service hosted in WebLogic web application from an Adobe LiveCycle Process (ES-4)

    Is it possible to invoke an external REST web-service hosted in WebLogic web application from an Adobe LiveCycle Process (ES-4) with parameters as input and manipulating the response depending on the type of parameters it gets back. Then invoking an Adobe Form and prepopulating the Form based on the response parameters? Do you have sample projects that do this invocation. The part highlighted in red is what I need examples.

    You can simply use "Execute Script" operation in Workbench and make use of java.net.URL. Below links should help :

  • SOAP Responce cannot be decoded after during a long web service exection

    I have an AIR application.
    I am using the spark web service and i have set up a fualt handler and set the requestTimeout to 0.
    I call an opertaion that calls a .Net web service.
    Inside that .Net web service i run a very heafty SQL using ADO and then i take the results from the SQL statment and I use those results to make an excel spreadseeht and saved on the machine running the webservice.
    This web service ran by itself can easily take up to two minutes to run (which is very acceptable given the nature of the query), and I would like the AIR application to just continue to sit there and wait for it to complete (also acceptable).
    Even with the request timeout set 0 i receive a "SOAP Responce cannot be decoded" fault from the webservice before the web service is even done running.  Why is this happening?
    I've run several debuggers to make sure the info to the .Net web service is correct, I've stepped through the entire web service piece by piece and no exceptions are thrown during its execution.  It just takes a long time to perform and the fault occurs right in the middle of the execution of web service.
    I've also had this happen when i'm debugging some of my other web serivces.  If a breakpoint is hit in visual studio in my webservice and i do my thing and step through stuff blah blah blah standard debugging stuff, the same thing will happen a fault will be hit before the webservice is done executing.
    Please help.

    I'm not sure what the deal is between Flex/AIR and Visusal Studios, but i descided to publish my webservices and point the wsdl there instead of using the visual studio generated one.
    AND BEHOLD
    I't worked and worked much much faster than i was anticipating.
    So i'll just chalk it up to poor communication between FLEX and VS.  But if anybody knows a more complete answer I would still love to hear it.

  • Invoking long running web service from BPEL

    I have a web service. It takes more than 5 minutes (could be up to a few hours) to run. Now I need to invoke it from the BPEL workflow. I tried it, but doesn't work. It seems that there is timeout problem. Does anyone know how to integrate the long-running process into workflow?
    Thanks a lot.

    Yes, I am using a sync process. Currently, I divide the process into two parts: launchProcess() and getResult(). Then in BPEL workflow, I use a loop to check getResult(). It works, but I am wondering if there is any better solution.
    I think my situation is very common in the community. Fortunately, I can split the process into two parts. But for some long-running process, it can be difficult to split. How can we implement the process as an async process and integrate it into BPEL workflow? My process is written in Java. I am not familiar to the async process. Any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Problem running web service on Turnkey 8.0.1 LiveCycle server

    Greetings:
    I need assistance in locating a problem on a turnkey installation of 8.0.1.
    I am trying to get a new installation of this code base running to provide an environment that matches some of my clients.
    The server runs, and I can log into all of the Administrator pages, etc.
    The scenario is I create a new process in Workbench 8, that for now just rights to the server log.
    I create a new PDF document, and add a data connection to my WSDL.
    I try to invoke the service and get the message "Error attempting to read from file".
    If I have security enabled on the service via the AdminUI, I get no messages in the server log.
    If I disable security for the service, I see the following in the server log:

    I have been able to get the web service to fire.
    The process is dying trying to send e-mail using the SendEmailService.
    It generates an exception of type "Exception" - flows thru an "Execute Script" that dumps text to the log file, then blow off with this:

  • Script file to make web service as a mediator to collect metrics

    Hi all,
    Please tell me the procedure that will make the web service as the mediator to collect metrics from a certain device...So that I can use scripts (or external programs) to collect data for an attribute group. The output of the program must only contain values for each attribute of an attribute group separated by the separator that I define...

    Hi,
    Sorry I forgot to mention an example in the previous thread.......For example...Through SNMP we can contact a device to get the metrics from that device,So now my issue is to use the webservice instead of SNMP to get metrics from that device for that I need to write a script file that will have the list of attribute groups which that device had,so that I can collect the data from that devices.So I need to have parsed attribute groups in that script file.so can you please help me out to write that script file.

  • Calling a restful web service from a script task

    Hi.  I'm weak in c# but am looking to accomplish this...
    I want to call a RESTful web service from an ssis script task.  I don't want to create a web service so I'm hoping there is some publicly available one I can practice with before our web team provides me with the service I'll eventually use.  Can
    the community provide an example?  I wish I had more but my knowledge is very limited except for using ssis in more sql centric apps.  It would be great if I could exercise both a get and put verb but I understand i'll be lucky if I can even get
    a get to work.
    Here is an example of a get I found on the web but I don't know if its a viable candidate for me to practice with from my package...
    using System;
    using System.IO;
    using System.Net;
    using System.Text;
    // Create the web request
    HttpWebRequest request = WebRequest.Create("http://developer.yahoo.com/") as HttpWebRequest;
    // Get response
    using (HttpWebResponse response = request.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse)
    // Get the response stream
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream());
    // Console application output
    Console.WriteLine(reader.ReadToEnd());
    and in the same article an example of a put ...
    // We use the HttpUtility class from the System.Web namespace
    using System.Web;
    Uri address = new Uri("http://api.search.yahoo.com/ContentAnalysisService/V1/termExtraction");
    // Create the web request
    HttpWebRequest request = WebRequest.Create(address) as HttpWebRequest;
    // Set type to POST
    request.Method = "POST";
    request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
    // Create the data we want to send
    string appId = "YahooDemo";
    string context = "Italian sculptors and painters of the renaissance"
    + "favored the Virgin Mary for inspiration";
    string query = "madonna";
    StringBuilder data = new StringBuilder();
    data.Append("appid=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode(appId));
    data.Append("&context=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode(context));
    data.Append("&query=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode(query));
    // Create a byte array of the data we want to send
    byte[] byteData = UTF8Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(data.ToString());
    // Set the content length in the request headers
    request.ContentLength = byteData.Length;
    // Write data
    using (Stream postStream = request.GetRequestStream())
    postStream.Write(byteData, 0, byteData.Length);
    // Get response
    using (HttpWebResponse response = request.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse)
    // Get the response stream
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream());
    // Console application output
    Console.WriteLine(reader.ReadToEnd());

    Hi
    db042190,
    These kinds of operations are commonly found outside the SSIS section of the forum, you just need to "borrow" the code and wrap into the Script Task. And based on what you see you are on the right tracks.
    One thing you need to be aware of: in production such RESTfull call usually lead to a fiasco for the machine residing in some kind of DMZ or Firewall rules prohibiting these methods or you need a proxy account to run the package and you face unbeggable admins
    who resist to relaxing security.
    My suggestion is to go the easy route: write the app up as a console, standalone app - it will be easier to debug and there will be complete examples of them in abundance on the web.

  • Erorr calling long running sync web service

    Hello
    I have definied simple async process:
    assign (from process input to ws invoke input)
    sync ws invoke
    assign (from ws invoke output to process output)
    Sync Web Service is long running (few minutes). In order to avoid timeout I have accordingly set sync-max-wait-time property.
    I have observed that after starting process instance I can't see it in BPEL Console (however I know it is working). Furthermore when invoke activity ends (so instance state must be saved in database) I can see following error on system console:
    <BaseCubeSessionBean::logError> Error while invoking bean "delivery": Cannot ins
    ert audit trail.
    The process domain was unable to insert the current log entries for the instance
    "2314" to the audit trail table. The exception reported is: RollbackException:
    The transaction has been marked for rollback (timed out)
    Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to
    the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/p

    Best Regards

    Hi,
    There are 2 ways to work around the error that you are seeing.
    Option #1: increase the JTA timeout of the underlying application server.
    Option #2: in the bpel.xml of your process, add a "nonBlockingInvoke" property to the partnerLink representing the interaction with the long running service.
    Option #2 should also address the fact that the instance is not visible in the bpel console.
