Scripting question: Is there a difference between shutdown from within the VM and using the WMIService InitiateShutdown

Hi,
Are there any problems with shutting down a virtual machine using a script?  (example of shutdown script here).
In this case, I want to start VM's in a particular sequence and timing, and then reverse the sequence and timing for shutdown.  The built-in settings of hyper-V haven't been adequate.
Is the command "ShutdownList.ItemIndex(0).InitiateShutdown(True,"script
shutdown")" the same thing as initiating a GUI activated shutdown process?
If not, does commanding a shutdown from the host using a script cause
any system problems inside the VM?  If so, are there other or better ways to accomplish this?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Alan

She needs to call the carrier on her old iPhone and have it removed from her account.
Once she does that you will not be able to use iMessage because that only works Apple to Apple.
You will need to use something else like Skype instead.

  • I don't have a question so much as a comment for APPLE. I am a new iPhone 5s user and it has many things I like but It is too small and I can only talk on the phone and use the internet if i am in a position to use a wifi connection and that is not good

I am a new iPhone 5s user. I like many of the features it offers. I don't like that I cannot talk and use the internet (if I am away from WI-FI) and this phone is too small. I am actually thinking of returning it and going back to an Android. After all the hassle it took to get all my stuff working on this phone , it may be worth the switch. This phone needs to be able to multitask freely in this day and age. Also Safari is not the best search engine but I could work with it if I could talk and use it at the same time. I use my phone for business and this is a feature that is needed in my line of work.

I understand that the OP failed to do research. But then, I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to Chris. I have Verizon. I can talk and use data at the same time with my Droid Maxx. Therefore, the problem is not just with the network. It would be technically possible for an iPhone to do that on Verizon/Sprint if Apple had chosen to use a different chip, such as the kind other phone manufacturers have elected to use.
Of course, this is probably all irrelevant to the OP's issue. It was merely a point of clarification, especially for those people who are used to being able to use both voice and data at the same time on Verizon. When they switch to an iPhone, they are often surprized at the limitation.
    Best of luck.

  • Is there a difference between OS X 10.6.8 and Snow Leopard 10.6.8?

I just bought an Mac Air and it has OS X 10.6.8, is that the same as Snow Leopard 10.6.8?  I want to know so I can upgrade to mountain lion when it comes out.

    Yes, they're identical.
All versions of OS X are called "OS X". The kitty names are there as product names for each major release of OS X.
    Panther = 10.3.x
    Tiger = 10.4.x
    Leopard = 10.5.x
    Snow Leopard = 10.6.x
    Lion = 10.7.x
    Mountain Lion = 10.8.x

  • Are there any differences between 64-bit / 4.7 sdk and 32-bit 4.6 sdk?

I presume the answer is no, but I need to be sure before copying across (and then deleting) the SDKs directory from 4.6.
EG: I have a 64-bit laptop that I have just upgraded to 4.7 premium and I want to move my entire collection of SDKs across so as to support the range of legacy products I have with different customers.
Will I encounter any issues or difficulties with simply copying the directory across from C:\programme files (x86)\adobe\adobe flash builder 4.6\sdks to C:\programme files\adobe\adobe flash builder 4.7\sdks ?
    Cheers,
    G
(Ps: I did a file compare using CompareIt (www.grigsoft.com - which is excellent, btw) and the only changes I see are a different line feed character. Not sure why that would be, but it looks like files are otherwise identical?)

  • Difference between batarries for Macbook air A1245 and A1237?

Hello. Is there any difference between batarries for Macbook air A1245 and A1237(the very first air)? I often see ads in Internet where baterries are described like *for A1245/A1237*. Please, help.

So, just to make it clear. What is a1245? I know that there is no such MBA, but why people mark batteries as *a1245/a1237*?
If I buy battery marked *a1245/a1237*, will it work? See an example http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-for-Apple-MacBook-Air-13-A1245-A1237-MB003-MC233 -MC233LL-A-MC234-A1304-/300934966726

  • Are there any differences between black and white?

    Hi, this is the question:
Are there any differences between a black and a white macbook (2,0 Ghz) except the coulor? I am thinking about buying a macbook but i dont know really what to do
    Coul someone help me plz?

This page explains the differences between the two white macbooks and the black mac book: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/0.RSLID?mco=A 4791B5D&nclm=MacBook
It should answer any questions you have about all three.
The lowest price macbook has a less fast processor, and the same size hard drive as the middle priced macbook. The lowest priced one also does not have a DVD burner while the middle priced white one does and the black one.
The black macbook has a bigger harddrive then the middle priced macbook and thats about all thats different between the middle priced white one and the black one.

  • Is there a difference between saving on your HD and saving on a DVD disc ?

I understand that when I save a photo or page on my HD I only copy the link and when the photo or page is removed I won't be able to see it.
Also when I click on a page with a photo that was on my HD, it will show no image just text, if I'm not connected to the internet. But once I'm connected it will show it.
So saving a page with photos on your HD actually doesn't mean a thing; your page is not saved ! meaning you can't see it whenever you want, even years from now. If they remove the page, you won't see anything (just text and sometimes not even that).
So, once I save/copy the picture on a DVD disc is it permanent ? will I be able to see it even if they remove the photo from the Web ?
Maybe I'm naive but once it is on a DVD disc I should see what is on the DVD disc, just like I watch today a VHS tape with "The Odd Couple" or "Taxi" although these shows are not on the air, the stations doesn't even exist anymore but it's all irrelevant because I COPYED the show, it is physically on my tape and therefore I can see it anytime I want. Isn't it the same with a disc ?
In other words is there a difference between saving something on your HD and saving it on a DVD disc ?
    --------

it depends what you want to achieve and what configuration you have on your DSL modem/router.
Resetting TC and run connection wizard from the Airport utility.

  • Difference between read from table or load into table in Mappings

    Hi everybody.
i wanted to deploy a mapping. Following error was shown:
ora-04021 timeout occurred while waiting to lock object Mapp_xyz
I tried to deploy another Mapping which was successfull. I found out that a specific table was locked and both mappings this table is used. In the Mapping which was deployed successfully i load into this table. In the other Mapping i read from this table. So my question is, is there any difference between reading from a table in a mapping and loading into a table?
Because after the Lock was broken up the mapping was deployed successfull.
    Any Information would be appreciated.
    Greetings

    Hi,
thanks for the reply. A Processflow was aborted while he was executing the mapping. So on our DB we had a active session which was causing the lock.
    Thanks.

    Thanks a lot!

Can you please tell me where you have founded all those helpful drivers?
Sorry but according all possible documents I have found on the Internet Satellite A210-11C is definitely PSAEGE and I didnt found any with PSAFGE part number. Where you picked up this info?

  • Differences between left join in oracle8 style and oracle10g style

    Hi,
I need some help to figure out what impact can be, on a product, the migration of query left join syntax from the Oracle8 one to the Oracle10g:
we have a product that uses Hibernate configured to use the Oracle8 dialect to perform queries which uses the (+) sintax to perform outer join query, and we encountered a bug in that dialect that is forcing us to move on the Oracle10g dialect which uses the ANSI 92 style to perform outer join queries.
Someone know if there are differences/bugs/incompatibilities for outer join query written using the ANSI 92 style instead the Oracle8 style like DB functions (like NVL(), DECODE(), and so on) that work in a different way using a style instead the other?
    Thanks.
    Luca.

Luca.In earlier versions of 10g (i.e. 10.1.?.?) there was a few bugs in the ANSI syntax joins on SQL, but they seemed to have sorted most of those out for 10.2.?.? onwards.
Essentially there will be no real adverse effects in using ANSI syntax, and it shouldn't stop your other functions working.
ANSI syntax also gives you the advantage that you can outer join to more than one table which you can't do in Oracle syntax outer joins.

  • Is there any difference between the 2 different USB cords when syncing???

I know this may be a paranoid question to ask but I just wanted to make sure.
Is there any difference between the newer USB cords with the shorter plug (the end that goes into the iPhone) and the older ones with the bigger, square-shaped plugs that you can pinch on the sides to retract?
Is there a difference in transfer speed, syncing speed, or reliability, or build quality?
Just asking cuz the newer USB cord that came with my iPhone 3GS is getting frayed and so I'm using the older one instead.
    Thanks to whoever helps.

No difference except, as you noted, you have to squeeze the older one to remove it. It's important that you do that so you don't damage it or the iPod.
