Scroll bar colour

Does anyone know the clever trick to turn the scroll bar down
the left of the persons web browser transparent or the same colour
as there background, or better still rid of it. Basically i have a
block of text under my main home page icon, there only for google
ranking and i dont want people to scroll down as it doesn't read to
well iut's just stacks of cool buzz words that google likes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Trying to fool Google is not a good idea.
2. You can't get rid of the browser scroll bar.
3. Then, there are many ways to have text in your code (that
will be indexed by Google), without
showing that text on your page.
For example:
<div style="display:none;">all the text you want here
for search engines</div>
This will be invisible to the user, but visible to search
engines.
You can also place your text in a div that will show in the
page, but NOT expand to accomodate the
text size:
<div style="height:200px;overflow:hidden">all the text
you want here for search engines</div>
This won't create a scroll bar, and the text will desapppear
below the specified height of the div.
4. Google is of course trying its best to detect any attempt
at fooling its fair and objective
ranking system, and nobody kknows exactly how far they will
go into such detection. You can bet that
if they do detect your attempts to fool them, your siite will
be banned from Google results, or
thrown all the way down the list.

I think the scroll bars should have a more contrasting colour. Also be wider. It is to easy to slip pointer off the scroll bar when using.

The scroll bars are difficult for me to differentiate from their background. Can I change their colour or darkness to make them more visible?

Firefox uses the native scroll bars by default.<br />
You can try to select another window theme in your Linux distribution that has better scroll bar appearance or see if installing a Firefox theme helps.

[FYI] FRM-92101 and scroll bar and form crash

Windows 2k for app server.
I have just spent three hours figuring out why I was getting a FRM-92101 when I deployed a form from my development app server to my test app server. Noted that the development server has patch 18 and uses cgi, not sure what patch the test server has but it uses servlet. Anyway the form worked perfectly on the dev server but would crash out with the error on entry in the form on the test server. Eventually I found the solution to be a scroll bar on a block, get rid of the scroll bar from the canvas and voila it worked. Ended up having to place the scroll bar on a stacked canvas to get it to work on the test server. I have already had to deal with a palette issue and those dark pink colours on deployment. Developed for a while on visual studio and never came across such annoying quirks as these.

I use XP to develop so I was compiling it there and then copying it across to both servers. Should I compile forms on the app server where they are going to be served or have I picked you up correctly?

Dropdown text and scroll bars in popups

Hello All,
I have a topic that is relatively short when it is first
opened and the (dhtml) drop down text is hidden. So, when it is
opened in an autosizing popup window from a link in another topic,
(and the WebHelp is full or almost full screen), no scroll bars are
presented in the pop-up. That's fine. But then when I click the
dhtml link and the drop down text is shown, the topic expands
beyond the length of the window. The popup is not redrawn and no
scroll bar appears, leaving the reader with no obvious way to view
the rest of the topic.
I can probably change the content design to keep this from
occurring, but is there something else I can do to correct this?

Of course, until the forum changeover, we had a nice little collection of FAQ about changing link colours and such As you're new to web design, I think the best thing would be to take a step back - you're trying to run before you can walk, I'm afraid. Golive is only a tool, you'll get on much better in the end if you start by doing some studying on html and css.
For both, http://www.w3schools.com is a very good place to start. There's a lot more to web design that learning how to use any one piece of software.

Changing scroll bars to buttons

Hello all, I use Macromedia Dreamweaver Mac for my wepage
editing, I was wondering if anyone knows any helpful tutorials or
instructions on how to replace the ugly grey scroll bars in your

You can control the colours of the scroll bar elements using
CSS which means you can effectively 'hide' the scroller etc. You

You can do it .... but should you? I'd agree with Micha,
avoid it if possible and perhaps revisit your design, i dislike
having many scrollables within a page especially when the
containers are not dimensioned relative to thier content (don't
make me scroll when I shouldn't have to).

I think you wantUIManager.put("ScrollBar.thumb", yourColor);before you create the scroll pane. However, other properties ("ScrollBar.background", "ScrollBar.foreground", "ScrollBar.track") might be more what you need.

Different Scroll bars in one file

I've manually customized the look and feel of the scroll bars for scroll pane component and it works fine. I've two different files that have different visual styles for scroll bars. Now I want to merge these two files meaning I want to have one file with two different styles of scrollbars co-existing. I can resolve the naming conflicts but both of the them are using same asset names and action scripts (I think in the class definition).
So basically my question if how can I have two different scroll bars implemented in one file?

that way by just making it longer. Alternately, you could use a

I have a dynamic table. Currently the table appears with the scroll bars. But there is a requirement that the scroll bar should not appear and the table should stretch in the entire page. How can this be achieved.

Was able to remove the scroll bars by using only the styleClass as AFStretchWidth. But there is a default partition in middle of the page still? Can i remove that too by any way.

Your code is absolutely unreadable - even if someone was willing to
help, it's simply impossible. I do give you a few tips, though: If you
understand your code (i.e. if it really is YOUR code), you should be
able to realize that your minimum and maximum never get set (thus they
are both 0) and your exam 3 is set with the wrong value. SEE where
those should get set and figure out why they're not. Chances are you
are doing something to them that makes one 'if' fail or you just
erroneously assign a wrong variable!

At times when dragging the vertical scroll bar my computer screen oscillates up and down for some time before going blank or not responding to any clicks requiring a forced system restart. What is wrong?

Suddenly while working with Firefox if I happen to drag the vertical scroll bar, a very abnormal behavior occurs. My screen dances up and down for a short time before either going black or getting restored but with no clicks working. The only way to resume is to force a restart of the system.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

That didn't work. On trying to install a new driver I got the error the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. Is there anything else that can be done to at least prevent the hanging of the computer even if it means less features from Firefox being available?

The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

Help with code for inserting horizontal scroll bar in photo gallery in Business Catalyst site?

I am using Business Catalyst and Dreamweaver to create a trial site.
I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this request but anyway I have inserted a photo gallery module at the bottom of the sidebar in the homepage of my test site.
Can anyone advise on whether jquery or any other code can be inserted into the page or module code that will replace the "next" hyperlink below the first 4 photos with a horizontal scroll bar at bottom of the gallery so users can just scroll through all 12 images ?

Have you tried putting this rule back as it was originally:

That is, changing your 9px back to auto.

My firefox browser window will not stay in full screen mode, it keeps reducing itself so I can't use the scroll down button on the side, so I have to constantly minimize and maximize to get to the scroll bar, How can I stop this?

Like I said it happens every few minutes... It is annoying when you are on the internet for more than a few minutes because you constantly have to either minimize it or reduce the screen manually by hitting the button and then maximize it again to get the scroll bar to be in view to use it.

Delete the localstore.rdf file at the following location:

I did this and it fixed it for several days, but it broke again eventually.

How to activate the Vertival Scroll Bar to Table control

In my screen 15 lines are visible,once i enter all 15 rows,vertical scroll bar is active,but rest of all lines are in deactivate mode.
