Scrubber problems continued. AS2/Flash CS3

Hey guys. I'm having troubles with my scrubber on my loadbar again.
As a picture says a 1000 words heres a screenshot of the problem:
Basically the scrubber bar is going waaaay past the 373px I asked to stop at.
I've tried messing about with telling scrubber_mc to stop at the end of ._x of the loadbar clip but have had no luck.
Anybody with suggestions?
Here's the code:
/*These are the scrubber functions*/
var scrubInterval;
loader_mc.scrub_mc.onPress = function()
    clearInterval(videoInterval);
    scrubInterval = setInterval(scrubber,10);
    this.startDrag(false,0,this._y,373,this._y);
loader_mc.scrub_mc.onRelease = loader_mc.scrub_mc.onReleaseOutside = function()
    clearInterval(scrubInterval);
    videoInterval = setInterval(videoStatus,100);
    this.stopDrag();
function scrubber()
    ns.seek(Math.floor(loader_mc.scrub_mc._x/373 * duration));
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. I figured there is something wrong with the either the reg points or I'm not actually scripting the scrubber correctly. Sorry I'm very newbish on AS so what you recommend I do?

  • Problem with AIR Flash CS3 Italian version

    I have installed the Adobe AIR update for Flash CS3 italian
    mac version but in the welcome screen I don't see the Flash File
    (Adobe AIR) preset.I know about the fix that consists in deleting
    the folder HD:/Users/<username>/Libraries/Application
    Support/Adobe/Flash CS3/<language>/Configuration/StartPage
    and I did it, but the problem remains. Now what should I do?

    Hi Alessandro,
    Please try rerunning the Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 to
    see if the problem can be solved.
    If after running the updater again and it still doesn't work,
    the workaround is to create a Flash 9 (ActionScript 3.0) fla. Then
    selecting Commands > AIR - Application and Installer Settings
    and Flash will ask if you want convert the publish settings to
    Adobe AIR, click yes.
    Thanks,

  • Animation problems in Adobe Flash CS3 for windows.

    I'm trying to save some .gif animations, but when I save them, they don't show the movie symbols animating, just the tweens in the main scene. Can someone help? I'll post an example. In 7-21-09 2 it is supposed to flailing it's arms around while moving back and forth. Instead it just moves back and forth. In Cute Porygon, it doesn't move at all because there is no tween in the main scene, yet I have different frames of it moving in a movie clip symbol. can someone help?

    I'm pretty sure you have to have all your animation present on the main timeline and not in movieclip objects.

  • Problem with FLVPlayer in Flash CS3 (need to save out as Actionscript 3.0 SWf file)

    I am using Flash CS3 and am trying to publish a SWf file that
    makes use of the "FLVPlayback" component. I need for this SWF file
    to be published as an Actionscript 3.0 file, so I have set my
    publish settings to Flash Player 9.0 and Actionscript 3.0, but keep
    getting an error as follows:
    "WARNING: The component 'FLVPlayback' requires ActionScript
    2.0."
    Has anyone encountered this?? I am doing something wrong? I'm
    pretty comfortable within Actionscript/Flash 2.0, but am only
    beginning my first steps into the relam of CS3 and AS3.
    I have also attached a screenshot of the files that represent
    my FLVPlayback component (or so I assume). (see this link for

    Gotcha. You must have started the document in AS2, then
    changed the
    publish settings. Each version of the language has its own
    version of the
    FLVPlayback Component (written in the relevant language).
    Start over and
    compare two compleley new FLA documents: make one for AS3 and
    one for AS2.
    Open the Components panel and note the differences between
    the two. There
    are a different set of Components depending on the language
    chosen for the
    document. Drag the FLVPlayback Component from the Components
    panel in an
    AS3 document, and you'll have the AS3 version.

  • Adobe Flash CS3 detected a problem and has to be closed.

    Hello,
    I'm using Flash CS3 for a month, but the problem is that
    since a week ago, flash CS3 stops working after 5 minutes of use.
    So today I've downloaded the test version (30 days) in
    another PC, but even with this other computer the software doesn't
    works and has to be closed.
    So that's not because of my computer. It's a more general
    problem.
    Did it happened to one of you? DO you know if flash CS3
    doesn't work for everyone right now?
    Do you know how to repair this kind of problem? I'm very
    desperate and I really need to use flash. I don't know what to do.
    Thank you very much

    There could be any number of items causing this. First off is do you have an active internet connection? If so have you tried rebooting you computer?

  • Problem displaying dynamically loaded text in Flash CS3

    I created a Flash CS3 application that does not display
    dynamically loaded text (from internal AS3 scripts) on 3/6 of my
    client's computers. All computers run IE 6 and Flash Player 9. I
    cannot replicate the problem on any computer in my department. The
    problem seems to be related to Flash Player 9 or a browser
    setting/IT restriction. Has anyone encountered this? If so, have
    you found a solution?
    If I cannot find a solution, then I will need to almost
    completely redo the application.
    One slightly insane idea I have considered is to, if
    possible, convert dynamically loaded text to an image real-time. Is
    that possible?
    Btw, I have created a font in my library. Should I try
    manually embedding the font from the Properties menu and selecting
    all characters?
    Thanks in advance.

    yes, even though you may be using a font from the library,
    you still have to specify that each text field that uses that font
    embeds the font, and you'll need to select all characters(well not
    all, unless you require all the different scripts of the world -
    upper-case, lower-case, numerals and punctuation usual suffices).
    I bet if you checked, the computers where the font did not
    appear did not have the font on their system.
    Good luck
    Craig

  • Problem in displaying Arabic text in flash cs3/cs4

    Hi All, I'm creating one website. I have to display dynamic xmlize arabic text in flash. I have done it using flash cs3/AS3. But problem is that when text displays in flash it is not rendering as expected. Some gaps comes in the characters. But when I open my xml in browser, arabic text displays correct.
    Is there any way to do it in flash cs3 or Flash cs4 using player 9? It would be really great if anyone can give me solution on this. Thanks
    Chandrakant

    You have to do it yourself -  I don't have a ready solution. Just look into documentation how StyleSheets are used and see what properties work best for you:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/text/TextField.html
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/text/StyleSheet.html
    Also, with embedded fonts you need to play with TextFormat settings and AntiAliasType
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/text/AntiAliasType.html
    In addition, on my machine even if I don't emebed fonts - Arabic works in Arial, TImes and others.

  • Can I use AS2 in Flash CS3 ?

    Is it possible to use in Flash Cs3 the AS2 and not just AS3 ?
    I am only trying to do a web link from a button to some web
    site.....
    I wrote
    on (release) {
    getURL ("
    http://www.yahoo.com", "_blank");
    and nothing happen....some women here asked same question a
    month ago...people told her it is different from the AS2.....still
    I cant used AS2 in falsh cs3 ?
    or can I ?

    you can mix as1 and as2 in an swf created in flash cs3 or you
    can use as3 in a swf created in flash cs3. but you cannot mix as3
    with either of the other two languages.
    use the publish settings to choose which language you want to
    use in your swf.

  • Flash CS3 - Odd button problem

    Hello, Ive upgraded to Flash CS3 and I'm having a problem
    with buttons.
    When I open up my site, the old buttons work fine to navigate
    the site and open up URL links. I have the actions on their own
    layer instead of having an onRelease on each button.
    However, when I create new buttons, they don't work.
    I've even tried copying the existing working buttons,
    applying the exact same actionscript to figure out what's going on,
    but that also doesn't work, those buttons won't open up the URLs.
    Am I perhaps using the wrong publish settings/flash player
    choice?
    Thanks

    The answer is "skins" just search under "Creating skins for
    some instances" in the Flash CS3 help file.

  • Wingdings 3 Problem in Flash CS3

    I am trying to use Wingdings 3 in a text box (dynamic) in
    Flash CS3, but it never comes up correctly. It only shows the
    letter, not the corresponding symbol. I have tried embedding font
    tags in the dynamic text and i have set the textbox's default font
    also, but no luck. the font is installed in windows on all relevant
    machines.
    Any thoughts?

    I just noticed the same problem - both CS3 and 4 do not display dingbats properly. Keycaps works fine. The file contained a Wingdings checkmark in a static text which I did not edit- it was a "u" with an umlaut over it when I opened the file.
    I replaced the fonts and this did nothing to help. I am running Vista 32 with 4GB Ram.

  • Flash CS3 timeline display problems

    I have just upgraded to Flash CS3 and immediately noticed a
    problem when viewing and working with the Timeline window. When I
    click on a frame (keyframe or other) it highlights that frame
    completely white, which means I can no longer tell what type of
    frame it is. The same happens if I highlight a series of frames,
    they are all white and hard to interact with. If I highlight a
    series of frames and attempt to Right-Click, I can rarely get a
    sub-menu to show for quick options like 'Remove Frames' and 'Create
    Motion Tween'. Most of the time my Right-Click is ignored
    completely (ie nothing happens).
    I have searched Google, Flashkit and Adobe site for help with
    this, but no love. Has anyone else experienced this problem? The
    rest of my CS3 install is working perfectly.
