Sdoutl.jar WKT bug

Hi, using the WKT class, we ran into the following issue where if you call WKT.toJGeometry() it chokes on scientific notation like this: POLYGON ((-8.2907617E8 4.2403891E8, -8.2907617E8 4.2403891E8, -8.2907617E8 4.2403891E8, -8.2907617E8 4.2403891E8, -8.2907617E8 4.2403891E8))
<p>
As you can see, the wkt string has scientific notation in it. This is slightly odd, since we created the wkt byte[] from the WKT class itself by using WKT.fromJGeometry()
<p>
This means the round-trip between WKT and JGeometry does not appear to work.
<p>
This is easily reproducible with the following code:
<p>
JGeometry jGeometry = new JGeometry(-829076170, 424038910, -829076170, 424038910, 8307);
WKT wkt = new WKT();
byte[] bytes = wkt.fromJGeometry(jGeometry);
for(byte b : bytes) { System.out.print((char)b); }
JGeometry roundTrip = wkt.toJGeometry(bytes);  // <- THROWS EXCEPTION<p>
The stack trace is:
<p>
java.lang.RuntimeException: -3
     at oracle.spatial.util.WKT$WKTInputStream.readDouble(WKT.java:137)

     at oracle.spatial.util.WKBasis.toJGeometry(WKBasis.java:937)

While this still seems to be a bug in the WKT class, the coordinates we were using were in an int format, and we were not properly transposing them to degrees. They needed a division by 10^7, so when we do that, this problem goes away for us...however, even if the coordinates as listed are not seemingly valid earth coordinates for SRID 8307, it still seems like the WKT parser should be able to properly handle java's toString on Doubles with scientific notation.

  • Jar -C bug?

    I've found what I think is a small bug in the -C option of jar when the directory path contains "//":
    jar cfm test.jar Manifest -C /home/sallad/somedir//javaclasses .will zip the class files with a long explicit path (/home/sallad/somedir/javaclasses/package/name/file.class), while
    jar cfm test.jar Manifest -C /home/sallad/somedir/javaclasses .will zip the class files with just the local relative path (package/name/file.class). This causes problems when the jar is run because the path to the classes within the jar don't match the package name.
    Easy to fix, hard to track down. Can anyone confirm that this is a bug?
    Platform info:
    java -versionjava version "1.6.0_01-ea"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_01-ea-b03)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0_01-ea-b03, mixed mode, sharing)
    uname -aLinux hostname 2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Tue Oct 18 18:39:02 EDT 2005 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

    I do not believe that
    /home/sallad/somedir//javaclassesis a valid path in Linux.
    (I can't test it as I am running Windows)
    If that is the case, then the -C option has no directory to change to, and jars from the current directory.
    The behavior is consistent with the jar command documentation for the -C option. It does not appear to be a bug, although an enhancement to throw an error on the invalid path might be possible.

    So what this is telling you is that the jmxri.jar you include within your application is different from the version the product already knows about.
    You have jmxri.jar in web-inf/lib of your application -- you don't need it because OC4J supplies it as a core API of the server.

    Hola Daniel,
    Make this simple thing, import the class in your jsp, for example, in your case this should be:
    <%@ page import="UserData" %>
    The jasper compiler assumes that any unqualified class is part of the package jsps. I think this is to allow class definitions in the jsps. So if you indicate that the class is not packaged in jsps it will be found.

    So my question is why can I see my raster via GeoRasterViewer but not Mapbuilder?
    I have read in earlier posts that the traceback above could be the result of the missing files jai_core.jar and jai_codec.jar but I start my mapbuilder with the following command to ensure they exist in the classpathwith no sucess.
    There may be a few too many jars in the classpath below but I copied this list from the rasterviewer just to cover all bases.
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\jdk\bin\java -Xmx256m -cp C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\lib\xmlparserv2.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\md\lib\sdoapi.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\md\lib\sdotopo.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\md\lib\sdoutl.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\md\lib\sdotype.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\ord\jlib\jai_core.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\ord\jlib\jai_codec.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\rdbms\jlib\xdb.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\md\demo\georaster\java\georaster_tools.jar -jar mapbuilder.jar
    I have also tried starting mapbuilder like this, but with no more luck...
    java -Xmx256m -cp C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\ord\jlib\jai_core.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\ord\jlib\jai_codec.jar -jar mapbuilder.jar
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Rowie..

    Hi Rowie,
    the error is not related with missing jai files (MapBuilder has these classes packaged on the single jar). In this case you can see the error that the image is not transformed during rendering.
    ERROR [oracle.sdovis.ImageRenderer] java.awt.image.ImagingOpException: Unable to transform src image
    It seems that the way MapViewer/MapBuilder render the image, is not supporting the
    GeoRaster generated.
    Which version of the GeoRasterViewer are you using to see the image?
    Is it possible to have a dump file of this GeoRaster, so we can reproduce the error? How big is it?
    Please post your email address in case we need to contact you.
    Thanks.

  • Executing UNIX command in Java

    I am having problems executing a command in Java. Here's the code I have for executing:
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);

         while((display = input.readLine()) != null)

                             percent = (num_1 * 100) / (50000000);

                        catch(IOException e)
                        e.printStackTrace();

  • Problem in importing data from shape file to Oracle Spatial

    The following error is being displayed
    symbol : constructor ShapefileReaderJGeom(java.lang.String)
    location: class oracle.spatial.util.ShapefileReaderJGeom
    Though i have downloaded latest Spatial Java class library (sdo_java_040319.zip) file and properly set sdoapi.jar and sdoutl.jar in the classpath.
    How can i get rid of this problem. Is it because i am still using old spatial java library for some other programs.

    Hi,
    Did you follow the instructions in the readme? Are you using Oracle10g?
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • GeoRaster Loader

    Hello everybody,
    I've been spending a long time with this problem. I started use GeoRaster Loader - that demo tool provided by Oracle to load georaster objects into the bank - with a bank 10g and a client 9i. Because a problem with a program I changed the client to 10g and after this I couldn't run the GeoRaster Loader more.
    The program needs a lot of files in many locations, so I did a .bat to set the classpath and the parameters. The .bat is like this:
    set meuora=E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    set pacotes=%meuora%\ord\jlib\jai_codec.jar;%meuora%\ord\jlib\jai_core.jar;%meuora%\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar;%meuora%\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar;%meuora%\rdbms\jlib\xdb.jar;%meuora%\lib\xmlparserv2.jar;%meuora%\lib\xmlcomp.jar;%meuora%\lib\xschema.jar;%meuora%\jlib\jewt4.jar;%meuora%\md\lib\sdoapi.jar;%meuora%\md\lib\sdoutl.jar;%meuora%\md\demo\georaster\java\georaster_tools.jar;%meuora%\jdbc\lib\nls_charset12.jar

    When I run this bath file I receive this answer:

    Please can samebody help me?

    I find the solution to this problem.
    In the LODConfig.xml file I have:
    <readPartitionFromBlob>true</readPartitionFromBlob>
                   <partitionBlobTranslator>oracle.spatial.network.lod.PartitionBlobTranslator11g</partitionBlobTranslator>
    but when I change it to
    <readPartitionFromBlob>true</readPartitionFromBlob>
                   <partitionBlobTranslator>oracle.spatial.network.lod.PartitionBlobTranslator11gR2</partitionBlobTranslator>
    The application starts without the obove mentioned error.

  • Deploying map viewer on tomcat

    hello,
    because there was no useable result of all the past threads handling this topic, i would like to ask again.
    Is there any experience in deploying the Oracle Map Viewer on a Tomcat server?
    Sure, it is possible to deploy the ear/war file at Tomcat and to call the main page of Map Viewer (but not completely, at all), but after that, it seems like some parts of the OC4J are missing, like the xml-parser.
    I tried something with the jars of oc4j, the classpath of tomcat and so on, but nothing really helped.
    And i know about the pro and con of deploying Map Viewer anywhere else than the oc4j or application server. So there is no need to mention this again.
    thanks for help
    Sebastian

    Hi,
    I've been running mapvier on tomcat 5.5.15 for a while now, without any problems.
    I do that in my dev environment because it's faster to restart. I guess you still need an oracle appserver license even if you run it in tomcat.
    Below are the contents of my lib directories:
    TOMCAT_HOME/common/lib:
    activation.jar
    commons-el.jar
    jasper-compiler-jdt.jar
    jasper-compiler.jar
    jasper-runtime.jar
    jsp-api.jar
    mail.jar
    naming-factory-dbcp.jar
    naming-factory.jar
    naming-resources.jar
    ojdbc14.jar
    ojdbc14dms.jar
    servlet-api.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
    and
    mapviewerWEB-INF/lib
    adf-faces-api.jar
    adf-faces-impl.jar
    adfshare.jar
    chartbuilder.jar
    classgen.jar
    commons-beanutils.jar
    commons-collections.jar
    commons-digester.jar
    commons-logging.jar
    jsf-api.jar
    jsf-impl.jar
    jstl.jar
    lbs.jar
    mapcache.jar
    mapviewer.jar
    mvclient.jar
    mvconsole.jar
    mvmbeans.jar
    sdoapi.jar
    sdogr.jar
    sdonm.jar
    sdoutl.jar
    sdovis.jar
    standard.jar
    wmsfilter.jar
    Also, you have to create the login you will use for the mapviewer admin:
    your conf/tomcat-users.xml file should at least contain this:
    <role rolename="tomcat"/>
    <role rolename="manager"/>
    <role rolename="admin"/>
    <role rolename="map_admin_role"/>
    <user username="yourname" password="secret" roles="map_admin_role,tomcat,admin,manager"/>
    Then you use yourname to login to the mapadmin.
    This works for me.
    Cheers,
    Calin

  • Mapviewer Configuration on Jdeveloper

    Hi,
    I have downloaded Mapviewer kit (mapviewer_11ea1.zip) from OTN site. I am trying to develop new web application to render map data stored on oracle spatial using JDeveloper. For now question is where i have to add this mapviewe.ear file into Jdevelpor to get MapViewer bean that is to import oracle.lbs.mapclient.MapViewer. I ma using JDeveloper version 10.1.3
    Thanks,
    Sujnan

    Hi,
    I have followed the following steps to develop new mapviewer application.
    1) First I downloaded mapviewer_11ea1.zip from otn site.
    2) Extracted above file to get mapviewer.ear.
    3) Then again i extracted mapviewer.ear file. Now i got the following jar files
    adf-faces-api.jar
    adf-faces-impl.jar
    adfshare.jar
    chartbuilder.jar
    classgen.jar
    commons-beanutils.jar
    commons-collections.jar
    commons-digester.jar
    commons-logging.jar
    jsf-api.jar
    jsf-impl.jar
    jstl.jar
    lbs.jar
    mapcache.jar
    mapviewer.jar
    mvclient.jar
    mvconsole.jar
    mvmbeans.jar
    sdoapi.jar
    sdogr.jar
    sdonm.jar
    sdoutl.jar
    sdovis.jar
    standard.jar
    wmsfilter.jar
    4) Then I added these files into my application library.[By right clicking ViewController->Project properties->Library]
    5) Copied mapViewerConfig.xml into WEB_INF\conf directory
    6) In mapViewerConfig.xml file i have changed the "save_images_at" and "map_data_source" tag
    Now my application is working fine
    But if I remove this mapViewerConfig.xml then my application would not works. It will throw the excption for mapViewer.addThemesFromBaseMap(strBaseMap); saying that Theme list is not found.
    Is these steps are right to develop real time application on oracle spatial and mapviewer?
    Thanks,
    Sujnan

  • MapViewer - addJDBCTheme

    Is there anything peculiar about the SQL string passed into addJDBCTheme in the MapViewer bean? Whatever SQL I try, the new theme does not get rendered. It seems to create the theme OK (it gets assigned a theme number) but it seems to always contain no data.
    Does anyone have an example of addJDBCTheme that works?
    Thanks

    We installed the mapvier.ear file in the $ORA_HOME/j2ee/geomarca/applications directory. We deployed the mapviewer.ear which caused the new installation of the mapviewer files.
    In the properties of the mapviewer application within the AS we added 3 library-files with their complete path: sdovis.jar, sdoutl.jar y outapi.jar (we did not add chartviewer.jar, because the manual does not indicate that, however the chartbuilder.jar file is in the directory).
    We checked the existence of JDK 1.4.2 and because we deployed the mapviewer.ear file all the jars in the lib directory are from the same mapviewer.ear. We are working however with the "old" version of AS (10 g, november 2004)
    After deploying the mapviewer.ear we encountered even more problems:
    - using the basema^p statement generates an error when executing a maprequest
    - leaving the basemap statement out of the request the same NoClassDef error appears which we had originally
    - function map.setBaseMapName("geomarca") does not work;
    - function map.addMarkerStyle("mkcircle", 3, "blue","red",null,null,null,"5");
    The strange thing is that other functionality does work!!
    Shoud we install AS all over again, perhaps the new version, or could we solve all this in an easier way?

  • [Q] Oracle Spatial Java Class Library: classes missing ?

    Hello !
    We are using Oracle 9.2.0.4 with Spatial features and we'd like to use the Java Library to get access to the object Geometries. We have downloaded the Spatial Java Library at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/spatial/index.html
    The "sdo_java_040319.zip" file contains "sdoutl.jar", "sdotopo.jar, "sdonm.jar" and "sdoapi.jar". *BUT* "sdoapi.jar" only contains the "oracle.spatial.geometry.JGeometry" class !
    Nothing about the "oracle.sdoapi.*",
    "oracle.sdoapi.geom", "oracle.sdoapi.adapter", ...
    "oracle.sdoapi.sref" !
    Where are they ?
    Thank you for your replies

    The JGeometry class is it.
    It's all you need with the new, supported sdoapi.
    The javadoc for JGeometry has an example of its usage.
