Help needed upgrading from Windows 8 to XP for Conexant Sound Driver

I upgraded from Windows 8 to XP and got everything else working except for the sound. I have scoured the internet and tried many versions of drivers from windows 7 ones to XP ones with no success. I tried older driver´s version as well. After a reboot there is no sound device loaded in the control panel for sound. I have a C845D-SP4327SL model laptop. Does anyone have any process to make this work that is proven? Thanks

hi. if you want to that your sound device was in control panel after a reboot , here is only one solution for that, all you have to do is upgrade first hdaudio bus controler. Driver must be copied first from computer with Vista os. if your xp is 32bit you have to copy this driver from any Vista x32 if your xp is 64 bit then Vista must be x64 as well. driver for forced upgrade through device menager you will find in any vista os Windows--> System32-->DriverStore-->FileRepository-->hdaudbus.inf9689af2f
once copied that file from any computer equiped with Windows Vista , copy it on your desktop, next step go to the device menager and find in system device tab 2 entries UUA High definition audio and update both by forced update. You have to point exactly where is located your driver copied from vista. after this update your sound device will be in the control panel and device manager always and permanent.
I had the same problem with my xp instaled on satelite p500 and only this solution solved my problem with disappearing sound device after reboot.

Even though the drivers seem to update correctly when installed, after a reboot there is no sound device loaded in the control panel for sound. I have a P105-6197 model laptop. Does anyone have any process to make this work that is proven? Thanks

MacBook Pro and the search for a disk driver

i would like to know if the MacBook Pro has a disk driver for a CD built into the computer? if yes then where is it located, if no then can i buy a external disk driver

Retina MacBook Pros don’t have built-in SuperDrives. OS X comes with drivers for Apple SuperDrives, both internal and external. (I don’t know where those drivers are located in the filesystem.) Third-party external CD-ROM drives might require their own drivers for OS X, in which case they should come with the drive; if they work without requiring an additional driver, then they should be plug-and-play under OS X.

As I wrote in the topic headline, I'm currently searching for a sound card, which decodes Dolby Digital from the S/PDIF input.
I.e. a DolbyDigital signal comes from an external device (here Set-Top-Box/Media-Recei'ver) and the sound card should send the signal to my analogue speakers.
Currently I have a Creative X-Fi ExtremeMusic, this card does not support this.
And yes, I read the thread "Digital Connection...".

Several people say, that I can do that, what I described in the first posting, by using an I/O console from Creative. But Creative (support) says, it is impossible at all, they don't have any products, which can do this.
Can anyone tell me, whether it's possible or not? Important fact: I use Windows XP, not Vista. And I don't want to use modded drivers. I want to use the latest official ones.
The new soundcard "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Champion Series" has an I/O dri've. If I have this, can I decode DolbyDigital from S/PDIF-IN, if I plug the optical cable into the soundcard? Because this console seems to have no optical input.

Dv8315 Windows 7 Ultimate sound driver

Just like the title says, I own a dv8000 (8315) laptop and I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything installed perfectly except for the sound driver. I have been searching far and wide for one that works and I cannot find it. Through the HP website they only have vista drivers which I have been told should work and they did not, and I also attempted downloading Realtek HD and non-HD audio drivers. I do not know where else to look but I need to know what audio driver I need for my laptop!! And maybe if I am installing it wrong, may be different from XP but I am following the step by step procedures all of the driver setups come with, installing into the default programs folder. If you would like any more diagnostic information concerning the spefics of my laptop please ask and to save some time lemme know how to find that information. I consider myself "tech-savy" but there is still plenty I do not know Thanks in advance if i could figure this out I would be 100% happy with the new OS!

In the prefrences of the Linux version of Spotify, there is absolutely nothing that shows what sound driver is currently being used, or lets you select one. This would be a great addition. When I have only JACK running, and start Spotify, it refuses to play (it gives a connection error).When I have Pulseaudio running, and start Spotify, it will play.When I have neither running, one would think that it would revert to ALSA, but just like when JACK is running, it refuses to play (and gives a connection error). It would be great if it was clear in the preferences what sound driver is being used, and let us change the sound driver to the one we would like to use (like JACK, even if Pulseaudio is running). VLC has implemented this well. You can select from:AutomaticPulseaudio audio outputALSA audio outputJACK audio outputAudio memory outputDummy audio outputFile audio outputDisableThank you for your time, and thank you Spotify for (other than this) releasing a very nice Linux client.

I did not know that :) Still, looking in the terminal for the sound driver being used it isn't very intuitive.It also doesn't give you the option of selecting which sound driver you would like to use (ALSA, JACK, Pulseaudio, etc).

I can't support that mobo really - try the AMD forum around here some place. Please tell them full specs of your system, and in this case I think you should add the temperature of your system and processor as well. The advice you got is sort of a standard answer from game makers.

Ive come close to creating it by altering a synth basic sound, but its still off a little. Any ideas?

Are you looking for a helicopter sample, or an AU that makes your pre-existing sound into a helicopter effect?
If it is the former, Hang and Christoph gave you some nice examples, and you can do a google search for "Helicopter Sound Effects."
If it is the latter, this free au plug in does a nice job of simulating it.

This will create a swsetup folder in c drive ("C:\swsetup\sp34200")
Installing Audio drivers may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
Open the Device Manager:
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Search for doc's on WIN7 Drive not working

Hello, I am wondering if any of you know a work around for this. I cant seem to understand why the search for the names of documents does not look in the windows bootcam drive correctly. For example I open the HDD for windows 7 and say I search for a text document called serials.txt and I search for "serials" and serials.txt" and Finder does not find.... The document is there and inside the folder located on the WIN7 Partition I am searching. I do have Paragon NTFS installed... Confused.

Sounds like Spotlight doesn't use Paragon which actually doesn't surprise me at all.

I am having trouble finding a working driver for Windows 7 - 64 Bit for a Sound Blaster Li've! 5. Audo Card Model# SB000
I downloaded driver file SBL_PC64DRVBETA_LB_2_03_0005.exe which I think is a 64 Bit Sound Blaster Li've! update, but Windows 7 does not allow it to be installed because it is not a digitally signed driver. It also seems Creative is no longer supporting these old cards with new driver updates.
I love the card though. I have bought more recent sound cards and the sound of this card is still much better than the more recent sound cards I have bought. So I would like to keep using it if possible.
Are there any driver solutions?

I recently answered about the same question:
If you?use Vista or Windows7, then there is no official driver. You can only use alternati've drivers like Vista Support Pack by Daniel_K or the one from KXProject (better). But if you have more than 2 gigs of memory installed or an x64 OS, then both drivers will be half-working (as far as I remember, Daniel's driver won't work with more than 2 Gb of memory installed in any OS, and with KX-driver there will only be a problem with MIDI playback with more than 2 Gb AND x64 Win7).
