Search Help from CAWNT

Hello Expert,
I have created the Elementry seach help from table CAWNT for field ATZHL. Field ATZHL is used in my custom table. I have add this search help with the domain of this field. Now my problem is when i hard code the ATINN value which is an internal number in the default value. I get all the required value. This will work fine in our developement client but when we transport it to the upper clients. This internal number will change. Could you guys help me how to pass the outside value which will internally convert to internal value.

Hi Amit,
You need to hard code the Charecteristic value for the Internal number. For example 'SERVICE_CATEGORY'. Not the number generated for the characteristica value.

Calling a standard search help from MS Office

One of the companies I work for has integration with Microsoft Office so users can create SAP DMS (document management system for those who aren't familiar with it) entries directly from e.g. Microsoft Word. The integration solution is a custom .Net application.
In addition to the obvious integration to create the DMS info record and assign the document as an original the integration solution lets the user provide classification data. Some changes are now being planned, and one of them is challenging as a new characteristic (for the classification) will be used to store an organization unit. This is straightforward when the user is in the SAP GUI, as the standard search help can easily be displayed from custom code.
Being a technology optimist I was hoping that with the new fancy technologies SAP would have provided a way to use .NET integration to display a standard search help from the MS Office integration dialogue - but so far I have not been able to find any information supporting this hope. Luckily I am not the developer working with the integration dialogue, but unless the mentioned possibility exists it looks like we have to resort to passing all organization units to the interface so a hierarchy can be constructed and displayed to the user for selection.
Another alternative (I think) is to recreate the dialogue as a web dynpro screen, which will give us all the advantages of operating "inside" SAP. However, I am not sure if this is possible either. Can a web dynpro screen be called from an MS Office application (.Net), and can that web dynpro screen return values to the (external) calling application? In my simple view of the world this should be doable, if not otherwise it should at least be possibly by wrapping the screen in a function module that is exposed so the .Net application can call it - either by RFC or as a web service.
Microsoft Office version is 2003.
SAP release is ECC 6.0 (Netweaver 7.0).
I think this is the right forum for my question. My apologies if it isn't (and any guidance towards a more appropriate forum would then be appreciated).

Search help from one field used to populate another on subscreen.

I have a subscreen with 2 fields; Plant & Batch.   Search help MCH1F displays batches for plants. When a batch for a plant is selected in the search help for the batch field, I want to populate the plant field in addition to the batch. The batch number comes back from the search help selection, but I need to get the plant associated with that batch just selected and populate the subscreen plant field. SET/GET doesn't work either in the screen field setup or abap flow logic.   Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Calling SAP GUI Search help from BSP

Hi,
Please find my requirement below:
I have a Sales Order field with a Search button.
Once Search button is clicked, it should call standard F4 composite search help.
I have tried calling the search help VMVA for sales order, using the Function Module DD_SHLP_CALL_FROM_DYNP.
Once search i clicked this FM is called but in CALL SCREEN statement it goes to page error/dump.
Kindly let me know if there is any other solution for the same.

As far as I am aware there is no standard way of calling a search help from a bsp. You have to create your own bsp tags to do this.

How can I call a specific search help from and still get all the tabs

I use F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST to display a specific search help from my program. This search help is included in a collective search help, but only the one specified search help is displayed.
Is it possible to call the collective search help and display one specific search help ?
Example: in CRM i have a collective search help BUPA. When F4 is issued from a customer field the search help "Search customer" should be displayed, and not the last search help which was activated - i.e.. "Search employee".

Adobe from is integraated with R/3 just like smartform.
So if u use any DDIC tabel field which have inbuilt search help then it will automatically intergrated with Adobe form.
If not then u have to make at ztable via foreign key or via FM at program level.

Using Search Help from another client?

I have a requirement where I have to use a search help available in another client in one of my input parameters on a selection screen.
My report is in SRD system but the search help is in ECC.
The search help is actually PRPM <== Matchcode for WBS elements
...Is it possible to do so?

Well, the reason being...they want to use PRPM because they would like to allow users to search for the WBS element as well as filter by Person Responsible.

Whether it exists in DEV system or not?
Take the name of that Search Help from PRD/Quality(if it is not there in DEV system) and modify/change it by removing that field from the search help in DEV system and create a Transport request and transport the same request to Quality/PRD systems
Now the New changes (in which the field was removed) will be over written on the old search help in the PRD system, since it is the same Name (search help)

Data display from search help.

Dear All,
I create a search help from T005 table with 2 parameter LAND1 and LANDX.
I have a zempinfo table which have a field LAND1.
when I want to insert data in zempinfo table I get data for LAND1 from search help. In the meantime I want to display LANDX 's data in a screen by a DISPLAY_ITEM.
DISPLAY_ITEM is not a zempinfo table field. IT is a screen element only.
Now help me please, to display data LANDX into DISPLAY_ITEM.

Pls try to understand.
Though land1 landx are same table fields. I want to use only one search help.
When I enter value in LAND1 from search help, DISPLAY_ITEM automaticaly get data crossponding value of land1 from landx.
e.g. when we create a SO by tcode VA01. in this screen we enter the MATNR value & crossponding other field display its related data.
IF any way do this pls help that.

About Running Remote Search Helps in SRM via Webdynpro ABAP

I am having troubles trying to implement an input help for a custom field in the standard Shopping Cart Portal page for item level.
I would like to implement the same input help used in field Network of Activities, but as I can see in WDA component '/SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC', it seems to use another component in order to run a remote Search Help (I assume it is an original search help from PS system).
Does anybody know how to use this backend search help WDA Component? (/SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH)
I haven´t found any information regarding that :S.
Another option would be to create a new RFC FM in PS returning the expected values, and use these entries to build a list value selector associated to the corresponding context attribute (This is not what I would like...)

Figured it out.
/SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH is a 'freely programmed' search help used in SRM.
1. Add this helpview (HV) component usage to your component controller, and view controller.
2. Map HV SELECTION context to your view
3. Modify the context attribute you want backend searchhelp to 'freely programmed', and select the component usage created in step above (note this is done dynamically in SAP code, b/c attribute is defined as dictionary search help in SAP components) -- this took a bit to figure out.
4. IMPORTANT: Give your context attributes the SAME NAME (COST_CTR in my case) as those in structure /SAPSRM/S_CH_WD_MAP_ACC (how obvious was that)
5. IMPORTANT: Set your LOGSYS in /SAPSRM/CL_PDO_VALHELP_FACTORY class - love those those factories (tic)

Input Help on the Screen
Within the Screen Painter, you can define two types of input help:
1. The FIELD statement with one of the additions VALUES or SELECT.
2. Linking a search help directly to a screen field.
If you link a search help directly to a screen field, it overrides the additions of the FIELD
statement. However, the input check [Page 581] functions of the FIELD statement remain
unaffected.
Input Help in Flow Logic
The following input help methods are obsolete and should not be used. They are still supported
for compatibility reasons.
In the screen flow logic, you can specify a value list for a screen field <f> as follows:
FIELD <f> VALUES (<val1>, <val2>,...).
The value list contains a series of single values <vali>. The NOT and BETWEEN additions for the
input check [Page 581] are not appropriate for input help.
You can also create a value list by accessing a database table as follows:
FIELD <f> SELECT *
FROM <dbtab>
WHERE <k1> = <f1> AND <k2> = <f2> AND...
In the WHERE condition, the fields of the primary key <ki> of the database table <dbtab> are
checked against the screen fields <fi>. The WHENEVER addition, used with input checks [Page
581], is not necessary for input help.
If you have used a ABAP Dictionary reference for field <f>, the selection and the hit list formatting
may be affected by any check table attached to the field.
Attaching a Search Help
Search helps from the ABAP Dictionary can be attached to a screen field [Ext.]. To do this, enter
the name of the search help in the corresponding field in the attributes of the screen field in the
Screen Painter. This assigns the first parameter of the search help to the screen field. It is only
possible to place a value from the hit list onto the screen.

When the user chooses the input help for the individual fields, the following input

For the Airline field, the search help displays the names of the airlines and places the airline
code in the input field for the chosen line. If the airline code is not one of those listed in the
VALUES list of the screen flow logic, the input check triggers an error message in the PAI
event. So the search help overrides the VALUES addition for the input help, but not for the
input checks. This is therefore not an appropriate place to use the VALUE addition.
For the Flight number field, the flow logic displays the selected entries from the database
table SPFLI and places the selected line in the input field.

For PO i could get the standard search help from DDIC, but i need to provide search help for PO Item based on PO selected.

1 Declare the WDR_OVS Component in the used component list in your WD component .
2 Now go to the View, in the Properties Tab click the Create Controller Usage Button.
3 It will open a screen with Component Use Entries. There select the Component Use OVS with Interface Controller . Press Enter.
4 Go to the Context Tab, Right Click the Context and select Create à Attribute , for PO item in ur case .
5 In the Input Help Mode Field, Select u2018Object Value Selectoru2019 from the dropdown. Then press F4 in the Field OVS Component Usage.
6 Declare one event handler method with Name ON_OVS in the Method tab of the view. Then Press F4 in the Column Event.
Select the Event OVS as shown below and Press Enter.
