Search Helps - View Query

hi,
I need to create a matchcode for the field kunnr whose search help is DEBI.
1.     In the transaction FBL5N (Customer Line Item Display) include a new match code Active Account with Balance.
2.     The search parameters will be similar to match code Customers(By Company Code) / Customers per sales group.
3.     When the search is made by entering the name in the name field , the program logic would be as:
             a.   The table KNB1 will be used to search the customer based on company code.
a.     The list of customers obtained will be queried in the table KNA1(General Data in Customer Master) to get the list of customers with name 1, postal code , city etc.
b.     This list of corresponding customers is queried in the Table BSID (Accounting: Secondary Index for Customers) to check if the customers have an open item.
c.     If there is an open item for any customers then they are considered as Active customers.
d.     Display only the list of active customers for the name search with the details Name1, city, Postal code, Customer No. , company Code etc.
My query is in the view which i am gonna create, what would be the join condition for the above logic.

Is this related to BSP? Are you needing help creating the SQL statement for the logic you described? I guess I'm not sure what you are asking for and how it is related to BSP.

Problem in search help view for Contact (BP_CONT_SEARCH)

Hi,
I am trying to create service order. There I have 2 fields ... Sold-to-Party and Contact.
when I say F4 for Contact it is displaying the next screen with 4 parameters. There I have Account ID paramater.
In the CRM 6.0, the Account ID is being populated with Sold-to-Party ID, by default.
But, Now I am working in CRM 7.0. The Account id is not defaulting to Sold-to-Party ID.
And I observed that in CRM 6.0, all the fields on Serch help view are binded to SEARCH->VALUE1 attribute.
But, In CRM 7.0, this is not done. I donno whthr it might be the reason..or som thing else.
Please let me know, for defaulting this value, what we need to.

Search Help for query

Hi,
I'm facing an issue related to the variable search help.
I have a query which has been recently migrated to 7.0. When I open the query on Analyzer and look for values in a variable it is throwing me the relevent values for that particular variable itself, which is perfect.
When I run the same query on portal, and look for variable input values, I'm getting all the master data entries along with the variable value. I do not want all these other master data entries.
Please help.

Hi,
There are two possible read modes for the value help of variables:
- Read mode "M" means "Values in master data table".
- Read mode "D" means "Only values in InfoProvider".
Please set related setting in infoobject level it should resolved your issue.

UDF - formatted search help using query

I've created a UDF for 'activities' called U_BP_Link - it has a formatted search query which simply displays all data in the OCRD business partner database. I wanted to also fill in a UDF which would display the 'description' of the BP that was selected in the U_BP_Link field. I'm having trouble coming up with the correct syntax for the query associated with the UDF name field. This is giving me a syntax error near $[$U_BP_Link]................
SELECT T0.CardName FROM OCRD T0 INNER JOIN OCLG T1 ON T0.CardCode = T1.U_BP_Link Where T0.CardCode = $[$U_BP_LINK.1.0]

I don't fully understand your situation.
I'm thinking you have 2 UDFs. One is OCLG.U_BP_Link and the second is the 'also fill in a UDF' and that is to be populated with OCRD.CardName based on data entry in OCLG.U_BP_Link
That being the case, I would create a FMS on OCLG.U_BP_Name field to:
1) Search in Saved Query - create query similiar to SELECT OCRD.CardName FROM OCRD, OCLG Where OCRD.CardCode = $[OCLG.U_BP_LINK] FOR BROWSE
Create and test the query and after results are generated as expected, substitue the $[OCLG.U_BP_LINK]. The query will error in SAP but is OK for use in FMS.
2) Auto refresh when Field Changes
3) Based on field OCLG.U_BP_Link - actually the description for this field.
4) Display saved values
It could work.

I Created one vendor report , in that report selection screen LIFNR field is there , F4 on LIFNR list of possible values will come , beside that a lot of tabs is there ? what is that tabs ex: means vendor on company code , vendor based on country ? how all it will come ?

We can create search help in the Se11 .For Multiple field dependednt ,then we can go for the Collective search help.
This created search help can be added in the Table by selecting the Field with the search help tab.
That is Collective search help.

Query Designer&WAD: Variable search help - Display Key/Text button

Good day.
Please, can you write me some solution of my problem.
I have the character with hierarchy.
In tab "Business Explorer" of character set display as "Text".
When i run my query on SAP Portal and enter to search help of character, it is displays text of my ZCHARACTER(not key and text). But name of levels(0HIER_BODE) display key and text... (NODENAME and TEXT).
When i run query in BEx Analyzer, in search help all correct. My ZCHARACTER and 0HIER_NODE displays only text.
When i press tech button "Display Key/Text", a see marked "Text". I cannot find the same button when run search help in Query Designer, WAD(or Portal).
How can i display only texts of 0HIER_NODE? But no [Key] Text.

Update. Can be usefull:
View table RSDVDPA with key DPNAM='0HIER_NODE' consist field CHAPRSNT with value = '0' (Key and Text).
When i change value of table
UPDATE RSDDPA SET CHAPRSNT = '4'
WHERE DPANM EQ '0HIER_NODE'
AND objvers EQ 'A'.
All works correct!
Change this value directly not correct. I think, that it is change of value of parent character. But when?

I have created own 0HIER_NODE character - ZNODENAME.
Only root node infoobject is 0HIER_NODE. All another - Z.

Search help Prb

hi experts,
I have got one urgent requirement.
In tcode VA01,when i press f4 on customer,it shows me the all the possible customers depending upon the search criteria on search help.
It also includes those customers which are blocked and users consider as non blocked and go further. I need to block this process.Is there any method in search help view so that i can color the line items which are blocked,so that it can be prevented.

Hi press F1 for document help, u will find technical information over there, by click on that u come 2 know the search help which is used for that field, open that search help in ABAP dictionery and check the order of layout, i.e parameters in that search help, arrange according 2 ur requirement...

Adding new field in search help result view

Dear Experts,
I want to include one more field in search help result. The field shoud give description.
How can i do this in UI result view?
If I try to add attribute in result view, the result view is of type table, and it does not allow us to add value node. It will allow us to add model attribute. If I add attribute in search help resut table view then will i be able to see it in table form.

Hi Pankaj,
Its not that difficult.
There are two ways
1. You can enhance your Result BOL object through EEWB and append your z-field to std. BOL result object. This then appears automatically for your result context node and then you can pull it to the view in config tool.
2. Directly go to your context node class (CN00 , CN01 etc ) , now copy method GET_S_XYZ , paste it and rename as GET_yourfieldname. Similarly copy SET_S_XYZ, GET_M_XYZ and GET_I_XYZ and paste and rename. Once activated. Quit the component browser completely. Open again using bsp_wd_cmpwb. open you view and then your node. You can find you new attribut present as struct.YourField.
You can then copy code from available setter-getter methods for this attribute. You must handle setter getter by urself in this case. In may std. nodes, this is done for description field. I have personally done this for product descripton field.
if you dont want the field to be part of structure ( i.e. as struct.Yourfield ) then you can also copy paste GET_XYZ, SET_XYZ methods. your filed then do not appear as Struct.YourField but it just appears as YourField name under context node.

You can check PRODUCTDESCRIPTION attribute of BTAdminI node of BT115QIT_SLSQ/Items view of BT115QIT_SLSQ component. They have added it the same way as i described above. You see the GET_ method to see how they are retrieving product description. In my object, i wrote direct query to Comm_prshtext table to retriev short_text by passing product guid and then assigen it to value variable of Get method.

Search Help Error while Publishing Query in Explorer

Hi All,
We have upgraded BW from version 3.1 to BI 7.0. SP level is 15. When we publish query in Explorer, selection screen appears, we get error in selecting variable(Fiscal Year/Period) entries from search help. After selecting a value from a list of possible entries, the format is changed on the screen.
For example:
If we select 002.2002 for variable FiscalYear/Period, we get
002 02 i.e. it is truncating 20 from 2002.
Now, we have to manually enter the values.
While executing query in BEx analyser, no such error occurs.
What will be the solution?

Help view to get two table entries in search help

Hi,
I have created the help view for join two tables and that help view was called in the selection method for creating search help of the custom table field. since it has show inthe selection screen , it is fetching only one table entries. and the shown entries are displaying but not passing.
Please provide the steps to get the two table entries and the displayed entries should pass.

1. Try your view with SE16/SE16N to see if it really finds what you expect
2. Use the same data elements in help view as on selection screen
3. read documentation and F1 help on all fields you see in the search help definition - especially only field marked as EXPORT parameter will be put back on screen.
But, sincerely, I don't know what your selection-screen looks like.

Search help in web dynpro Java i-view

Hi experts!!
I am new to EP so i need some help..
I am trying to implement some web dynpro i-views and i would like to know if there is any way to have F4 search help for fields in form template that correspond to R/3 fields. In other words i want to take the search help values from the R/3.
Should i create a model to call a BAPI for search help??? Or is there any other way?????

F4 search-help in infoset query selection-screen fields

Hi all,
I created an infoset, and it's corresponding query, and now I need to associate F4 search-help in two of the selection-screen fields. Since they don't have any reference field associated (they are SAP standard table fields), there are no possible values available to select.
How can I do this?
I have already tried to use the "AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT" in the infoset, but I'm not able to do that. When I try to use the select-options generated by the query (SP$00013 and SP$00014) I have a syntax error with "Field not known".
Can you help me? I never done this before, so I really don't have a guess.

Hi all,
I have found thread that helped me a lot in this issue.
I just have one more doubt: I created the selection criterion and I can already see it in the query selection-screen, but it's appearing in the top of the selection-screen, in a different area called "General data selections".
Isn't it possible to include it in the "Report-specific selctions"?

ABAP query (Search help)

One Standard search help is giving resutlts perfectly ok in user's login having 'SAP ALL' profile but same is giving different results in user's loginwho do not have 'SAP ALL' profile. Kindly suggest.

Hi Rajesh,
The reason for this may be that the user is not given the complete authorization for one or more firld in that query.For example user may have authorization for onle one plant PT01 and hence the o/p of query shows only relative data,where as in SAP_ALL there will be all the plants say PT01,PT02,PT03...
You may contact the Basis person for clarification.

is it possible to change the search help of the selection field ?
when i create the range table i put a data element :
create a range table that consists of this new data element
LT_RANGE_TABLE = WD_THIS->M_HANDLER->CREATE_RANGE_TABLE( I_TYPENAME = 'S_CARR_ID' ).
can i control the search help via the the data element or by other methods ?
i want that when the user press F4 the values that will show is the result of a sql query that i will write .
is it possible ?

Search help for field in ABAP Query

For a particular field in standard table the search help(F4) is not maintained in the table level, which is used in a ABAP query.
Is there any possibilities for user-defined Search help using InfoSet or Query?

Hi Bala,
I understand your question better now. Since you mention standard selections I assume that your InfoSet is based on a logical database instead of a table join, direct read, or custom data retrieval program. You are correct that the AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE REQUEST logic I mentioned earlier will not work for the standard selections of a logical database. The system gives you an error when generating your InfoSet if you try to use the standard selection name (in ECC 5.0 at least). I've tried various tricks to attempt to get it to work, but so far no luck.
You could, of course, use a different logical database as your InfoSet basis (e.g. VAV has a matchcode on VBAK-VBELN) or create your own data retrieval program and change your InfoSet to use the custom program instead of a logical database. In the second case you wouldn't need to deal with standard selections at all. I understand that these solutions are probably not what you need and, in the case of the custom data retrieval program, would be more complex (it may not be worth it to write a custom program just to allow F4 help... or maybe it would be... just depends).
Please keep us updated if you find a way to do it. I'll also report back if I happen to discover a way.
