Search-Mailbox + date output

Hey guys,
I'm up to create a very small reporting for our helpdesk mailbox. At the moment just the number of received emails per day is needed.
search-mailbox helpdesk -targetmailbox AdminSearchMailbox -targetfolder "search results" -searchquery "received:today" -LogOnly -LogLevel full | export-csv c:\test.csv
-append
I would create a scheduled task which runs the command at the end of the day.
This works quite fine so far, but I want to add the current date in each row.
I just tried to pipe get-date even with a variable.
Have you got any idea how to solve this?
Kind regrads,
Christian

Search-Mailbox is only going to give you the count of the number of messages that are currently in the mailbox (whether they were delivered, copied, or dragged from another mailbox) - it will not tell you how many have been delivered to it.  It is also
overkill if all you need is the information about the messages, but not really the messages themselves.  Additionally, the search as you have it laid out will not only show you what was sent into the mailbox, but also what was sent from it (since messages
sent from the mailbox will show up in the "received:today" part of your query).
In your situation, I recommend using Get-MessageTrackingLog searches, since they will give you exactly what was delivered into a mailbox, regardless of whether it still exists in the mailbox or not. And it will give you the information about the messages
without burdening you with the messages themselves.  For your case, I'd run the following daily:
$Today = Get-Date (Get-Date -Format MM/dd/yyyy)
$Yesterday = $Today.AddDays(-1)
Get-TransportServer | Sort Name | % {
    Get-MessageTrackingLog -Recipients:<smtp address of helpdesk mailbox> -Start $Yesterday -End $Today -Server $_.Name
} | Select TimeStamp, Sender, @{E={ "$($_.Recipients)" };L='Recipients'}, MessageSubject, EventID, TotalBytes, RecipientCount, `
    @{E={ "$($_.RecipientStatus)" };L='RecipientStatus'}, ServerHostName, MessageLatency*, ConnectorID, MessageID
I've split the Select statement at the end for readability.  This short script should give you the full information about the messages received into this mailbox for all of yesterday (midnight to midnight), without actually requiring storage to
hold all the messages.  Oh, and the TimeStamp field of each row will show you what date everything happened, which gives you the information about date that you are currently missing.

  • Searching for calendar items older than a specific date with search-mailbox and AQS

    I need to find the total size of all calendar items in a mailbox older than a specified date using PowerShell through the search-mailbox cmdlet's searchquery parameter.  My problem is that I cannot find a complete list of Calendar item properties to
    use in search queries.  The AQS page doesn't have a complete list of properties for a Calendar object.
    I'm using code from the ArchiveStatisticsPlanner.ps1 script as a base and the only date properties I know of are the sent and receive properties (see below.)  The basic start, end, date properties generate errors in the query.  How can I find all
    Calendar items older than say, 1/1/2013?
    Sample:
    $MBXSearch=Search-Mailbox-Identity$MBX-SearchQuery"kind:calendar
    sent:<=$QueryDate OR kind:calendar received:<=$QueryDate"-EstimateResultOnly-DoNotIncludeArchive

  • Search-Mailbox -deletecontent...not deleting all items?

    Hi, I am trying to purge some data from my Exchange server. I am running:
    Search-Mailbox -id username -searchquery "system.message.datareceived:01/01/2011..01/09/2011" -DeleteContent
    The first time I ran this against a mailbox it went off and deleted a load of mail. But looking into things further, there is still lots of mail that was received in the period stated. Not sure why the cmd hasn;t got rid of this as well? Also tried system.message.datesent
    but again when I run this the log states that there is nothing to delete, even though I have over 200 emails from June-Sept. Whats the deal here?

    Hi,
    Please try the following command and check:
    Search-Mailbox -Identity <username> -SearchQuery "Received:> $('01/01/2011 00:00:00') and Received:< $('01/09/2011 23:59:59')"
    –DeleteContent
    Hope it helps. If this issue still occurs, please let us know.

  • Search-Mailbox -SearchQuery not filtering time correctly

    After reading: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298173(v=exchg.150).aspx
    which links off to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ee558911%28v=office.15%29.aspx
    I made the following PowerShell script for testing before I start deleting anything:
    $A=Get-Date '18/7/2014'
    $Start=Get-Date $A.ToUniversalTime() -Format yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ss
    $End=Get-Date $A.AddDays(1).ToUniversalTime() -Format yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ss
    $SearchQuery='Received>="'+$Start+'" AND Received<"'+$End+'"'
    Search-Mailbox -Identity 'mailbox@domain' -SearchQuery $SearchQuery -TargetMailbox 'targetmailbox@domain' -TargetFolder Inbox -LogOnly -LogLevel Full
    The results I get back are all the emails between 17/7/2014 12:00 AM - 18/7/2014 12:00 AM
    When I thought it should be the emails between 17/7/2014 2:30 PM - 18/7/2014 2:30 PM (Our time zone is +9:30)
    Does the query I'm passing to -SearchQuery need tweaking or am I doing something else wrong?
    The $SearchQuery variable expands out to this:
    Received>="2014-07-17T02:30:00" AND Received<"2014-07-18T02:30:00"
    I'm using the Search-Mailbox cmdlet because is wish to adjust this script to use the -DeleteContent paramater

    Hi,
    I recommend you post this in
    Powershell Forum also, as they should have more professional knowledge on scripting and you may get effective solution timely.

  • Search-mailbox phrase

    Hello
    I'm running Exchange 2013 sp1. I need to search for  emails that contain a specific phrase, delete the emails and log the results. I have come up with two different commands, but not sure which one is better to use.
    #1 Search-Mailbox  -SearchDumpster:$true  -SearchQuery {Subject:"look document" -and sent:"11/23/2014..11/24/2014"} -deletecontent -loglevel full
    #2 Search-Mailbox -searchdumpster:$true -SearchQuery 'Subject: look document ' -DeleteContent -confirm:$false
    Bulls on Parade

    Hi,
    You can use the cmdlets below to search specified messages and delete them.
    Search-Mailbox -Identity xxx -searchdumpster:$true -SearchQuery "Subject:test" -DeleteContent -confirm:$false
    Search-Mailbox -Identity xxx -SearchDumpster:$true -SearchQuery {Subject:"test" -and sent:"11/11/2014..12/2/2014"} -TargetFolder xxx -TargetMailbox xxx -deletecontent -loglevel full
    There are some differences between them, but both of them work well. The first one doesn't specify the start date and end date. What's more, the second one specifies the logging level for the search. You can choose one according to your needs.
    What's more, here is a thread for your reference.

  • Search-Mailbox -identity & DeleteContent

    Hi. I ran powershell scripts on a users mailbox (test lab):
    Search-Mailbox -identity 'user name' -SearchQuery '(received:01/02/2003..21/01/2014) AND (kind:email)' -DeleteContent
    Search-Mailbox -identity 'user name' -SearchQuery '(received:01/02/2003..21/01/2014 AND (kind:meetings)' -DeleteContent
    When I compared the results post script execution 'Test-Lab Vs Production' the email retained in the Test Lab mailbox were not as expected.
    9 Emails remained in the users Mailbox. Received date varied. The 4 dated 22/01/2014 were expected. The additional 5 were not. I would have expected these to have been deleted.
    22/01/2014 x 4
    23/09/2013 * 1
    10/04/2013 x 1
    02/01/2013 x 1
    06/12/2012 x 1
    22/01/2012 x 1
    The script to remove calendar appointments appears to have deleted ALL appointment's (future > 2101/2014).
    Is anybody able to shed some light as to why I am seeing the results that I am?
    Kind Regards,
    Phil.

  • User Defined Field that gives the date output of the last price update.

    We would like to create a User Defined Field (UDF) with a Formatted Search (FMS) on the Item Master form that gives the date output of the last price update specifically the wholesale price.
    Last Price Update

    Thank you Gordon,
    We are looking for the date output of the 'Last Price Update' based on 'Pricelist 2 = Wholesale' which is the challenge.
    These 2 are the parameters for the date output, I should have mentioned that in my original message.
    Last Price Update
    Pricelist 2 = Wholesale
    Per reading a bunch of other similar Forum Questions it looked like it is might not be possible to do. With there being no date on the AIT1 table and AITM.Updatedate is based on any and all updates not just last 'Last Price Update' and not sure how to use the loginstanc.

    Hi I'm running Addressbook and cannot clear previous entry easily when searching my data base of around 5,000 contacts.
    I prefer to view in All contacts on a double page spread with details on the right page.  Searching doesn't seem to work correctly in this view.
    It's always the second search that is problematic.
    I've tried typing over and all it seems to do is confine the search to the the entries that have come up for the previous search.
    I've tried to use the x to clear the previous entry and then type the next search, same problem.  The only way seems to be to move from "All Contacts" to "Groups".  Then the searched name appears and I can return to All Contacts to see full details.
    Surely three key press' are not the way it's supposed to work?

  • How to pull data output of TCODE "MRKO" into a BI Cube.....??

    Hi Gurus:
    One of the business requirement is to EXTRACT data from relevant tables that the R/3 TCode "MRKO" provides in a report format in to BI. I don't tknow if there is any std. SAP extractor that would provide me the details. We need this data to determine the payment DATE based on "Payment Terms" using a logic, then summarize the data at each Vendor level and pass this information to the BI Cube. We need this information for a Cash Flow Forecasting project.
    I am not familiar with the Tcode MRKO or the program. I would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light here. I basically need a Total Due amount for a month period, Vendor, The date on which the payment has to be made in future based on the Payment terms and Company code. I don't know the tables involved, but the TCODE provides a "Total" per Vendor and thats what I would like to capture and pass to BI. How can I achieve this?
    Appreciate the name of the STD extractor if one exists or the table(s), and if any logic is necessary.....?
    Thanks a lot in advance.....!
    PBSW

    HI,
    I am not aware of any standard extractor for the report that you get from Tcode MRKO, But I can suggest you in a very customized way to extract the data into BW.
    When you run the transaction "MRKO", please check the program that is running in the background for that report to run and get the data output. You could easily find from the lower side menu bar.
    Once if you get to know the program, create a structure and create a datasource assigned to that structure, where  the datasource uses funcion module as its extraction method. In SAP you can easily convert a program into a function module and let the extractor fill your datasource for extraction.
    - Another way of doing it, is to find out the tables that it is retrieving from the report MRKO and create a structure with those fields filled up using a function module. And then use that structure and function module for your new datasource to extract.

  • How to show data output in SSRS

    Below is my simply query.  I need to use Matrix SSRS format. I will put "Region" in "row" column, Header will use "Customer_Requested_Date" field, and will use "Amount" in the data session.
    The data output in the "Header" field will show January.....until December (current month is December).  In the Amount field under "December" (current month), I need to compute the formula like "Customer_Request_Month"
    < =  Current Month".  (I do not have the field name called Current Month, need to get a Date/Time function to display Current Month).
    How I can come up the data output under December Header field to show the current Amount in that section?

    Josey Tang

    Hi Josey,
    According to your descritption, you want to show the current month in your tablix. Right?
    In Reporting Services, we can use the Now() and datepart() function to get the current month. Please use the expression below:
    =Datepart("m",Now())
    In this scenario, since you want to show the amount of current month within the column group, you need to create another dataset which always show the data of current month. Then you can use lookup() function to get the amount value from the current dataset
    based on the Region. Please follow the steps below:
    Create a same dataset(DataSet2) using your query. Add a filter on this dataset. Make Fields!Customer_request_Month.Value
    =
    Datepart("m",Now())
    Then add a column inside of column group, using the expression below:
    =lookup(Fields!Region.Value,Fields!Region.Value,Fields!Amount.Value,"DataSet2")
    The design and result look like below:
    Reference:
    Expression Examples (Report Builder and SSRS)
    Lookup Function (Report Builder and SSRS)
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • EasyDMS - search by date range for characteristics of type date

    Hi Folks,
    I have a characteristic of type date in the additional data of a DMS document. If I enter the date (for example validity date) as 08/31/2009 and search using cv04n and give a date range for the characteristic (i.e. 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009), the search result will bring up the document.
    However, I cannot do this from the EasyDMS find function. I need to specify an exact date. This is not very helpful for user who need to find documents with a validity date between 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009 for example. Is there a way users can search for date range in EasyDMS find function?
    Thanks,
    Lashan

    To search a date range with EasyDMS Client you have to set the registry key
    \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\EasyDms\Generel\DateSearchPick to Value 0
    Then you can use the input field like in SAP-Gui. (01.01.2009-31.01.2009)
    If you set the value to 1 or the key is not defined you can only search for one specified date.
    If you don't find this key on your PC create it as dword.
    Maybe you must restart you PC for takeing effect.
    Hope this will help you.
    Regards Wolfgang

  • Product - "Search on Data". How do I evaluate this?

    In the following url there is reference to a BO XI addin for 'Search on Data'. I would like more information on this but cannot find any further reference to it in the SAP website. Is there a trial version I can download? OR is this now bundled in with XI 3.x? I am using XI R2.
    SAP Research - Productized Prototypes
    The product description is as follows:
    SEARCH ON DATA
    From the same InfoView search, key word searches also directly query data sources and return answers. No existing BI reports are required for this to work. Results are dynamically returned in an auto-generated Web Intelligence document. This remarkably simple way to answer questions brings the power of BI to any employee who knows how to use Google and other intuitive key word searches. For existing BI users, this also provides a very fast way to start creating reports.

    This happened to me with the same device. I wouldn't worry about having it just say other as that is just information, if you really need to know what is using the most of your device's storage to to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage and that will tell you what apps are using in terms of your storage. Besides that, "other" is just iTunes knowing that there is information, how much there is, just not what it is. So syncing your device a few times and letting it stay plugged in should allow iTunes to recognize what information is on your iPod. Hope I could help!
