Searchin pattern in datbase table.(Number of rows in table :More than70Lac)

Actually i have a db table having 2 columns(columnA,time).db table has 70lac rows.I have to retireve all those values which are present min. 2 times in the interval of 10 minutes. eg. columnA,time values are
{a,June-01-2011 10:13:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:14:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:15:12},{c,June-01-2011 10:16:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:17:12},{d,June-01-2011 10:18:12},{d,June-01-2011 10:25:12},{e,June-01-2011 10:26:12},{e,June-01-2011 11:38:12},{f,June-01-2011 10:39:12},{f,June-01-2011 10:43:12},{a,June-01-2011 10:44:12},{f,June-01-2011 10:51:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:51:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:53:12},{c,June-01-2011 10:54:12},{g,June-01-2011 10:55:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:56:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:57:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:58:12}
Then I have to retrieve following rows in output : {b,June-01-2011 10:14:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:15:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:17:12},{d,June-01-2011 10:18:12},{d,June-01-2011 10:25:12},{f,June-01-2011 10:39:12},{f,June-01-2011 10:43:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:51:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:53:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:56:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:57:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:58:12}
Is it related to data Mining? i have 70 lac rows in database table.I have to search such type of many patterns in my application.I have spent hours looking for tutorials on Google. However I cannot seem to find anything that holds the hand? try to be more clear, i'm in lack of ideas in this problem, even it sounds like a classic. Can java data mining solve the problem?

Hi,
Sorry but this does not look like a data mining problem at all.
Thanks, Mark

    first of all thanks for reply, i will take care of your suggestion.
    Number of rows in table : More than 3*10pow7(30 Milion rows)(But it can be more than 120 milion)
    Actually i have to display all those rows which setisfy following criteria:( Specific value of column A should appear min 2 times in the interval of 10 minutes.)
    for eg.
    eg 1. {b,June-01-2011 10:14:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:15:12},{b,June-01-2011 10:17:12}{This set is appearing 3 times in the any interval of 10 minutes.}
    EG2 {a,June-01-2011 10:13:12} is present only one time,so i dont want this rows in output.
    EG# {e,June-01-2011 10:26:12},{e,June-01-2011 11:38:12} is present 2 times in db,but not in the interval of 10 minutes,so i dont want this rows as output.(t1=10:26:12,t2=11:38:12 difference is more than 10 minutes.)
    In my eg. i specified only 2 columns but in actual scenario there will be 8-10 columns in table.This is only one pattern which i specified,but there are many more pattern which i have to search in db.As specified above in eg. was only one pattern,After fulfiling this pattern It has to pass many other pattern.and i want result should be retrieved very fast.
    Please dont go into answer of above eg.Actually i want, what should be approach of such type of problems?
    Is this problem related to oracle data mining and how?
    Can data mining algorthms(Minimum Description Length ,Naive Bayes,Apriori,Decision Tree,Non-Negative Matrix Factorization ,Support Vector Machine...etc..) solve my problem?
    Different-2 type of queries will be fired against this table?
    if i am still not clear then let me know.

  • Merging two separate Tables into One - different number of rows

    Hi. I have a problem. Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
    7 years ago when i was learning how to query my teacher told me that is possible to creata some kind of report where results could be combined in 1 view(report) witch in different variable could have different number of rows.
    I just remember that there is needed to use group by function and some join?
    Please help
    In link there is a sample sample view
    I need to combine Table A using D variable with Table B to become Wynik(result)
    Tables create
    CREATE TABLE "TABELA_A" ( A NUMBER,B NUMBER,C NUMBER,D NUMBER ) ;
    INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (123, 1, 70, 999)
    INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (123, 2, 80, 999)
    INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (234, 1, 100, 111)
    INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (456, 1, 10, 222)
    CREATE TABLE "TABELA_B" ( D NUMBER,E VARCHAR2(255),F NUMBER ) ;
    INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (999, 'A', 1);
    INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (999, 'B', 1);

  • How to find number of rows in a table

    i have one table ,it contains millions of record,how can i know number of rows in that table without using count(*),
    i tried in user_table ,for the column NUM_ROWS,but it is not showing number of rows,pls send me a solution for this.
    regards,
    singh

    Ok, that only was to show simply that max option
    might not an option to reduce execution time.Yes, but I/O variances have a tendency to really skew the observed elapsed execution time - making execution time alone a poor choice to determine what SQL will perform better than another.
    Both MAX(ROWNUM) and COUNT(*) results in the same amount of I/O - as both uses the exact same execution plan, I/O wise. In this example, a FTS.
    SQL> create table testtab nologging as select * from all_objects where rownum < 10001;
    Table created.
    -- warmed up the buffer cache with a couple of SELECTs against TESTAB in order
    -- to discard PIOs from the results
    SQL> set autotrace on
    SQL> select count(*) from testtab;
    COUNT(*)
    10000
    Execution Plan
    Plan hash value: 2656308840
    | Id | Operation | Name | Rows | Cost (%CPU)| Time |
    | 0 | SELECT STATEMENT | | 1 | 35 (9)| 00:00:01 |
    | 1 | SORT AGGREGATE | | 1 | | |
    | 2 | TABLE ACCESS FULL| TESTTAB | 9262 | 35 (9)| 00:00:01 |
    Note
    - dynamic sampling used for this statement
    Statistics
    0 recursive calls
    0 db block gets
    131 consistent gets
    0 physical reads
    0 redo size
    223 bytes sent via SQL*Net to client
    238 bytes received via SQL*Net from client
    2 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client
    0 sorts (memory)
    0 sorts (disk)
    1 rows processed
    SQL> select max(rownum) from testtab;
    MAX(ROWNUM)
    10000
    Execution Plan
    Plan hash value: 2387991791
    | Id | Operation | Name | Rows | Cost (%CPU)| Time |
    | 0 | SELECT STATEMENT | | 1 | 35 (9)| 00:00:01 |
    | 1 | SORT AGGREGATE | | 1 | | |
    | 2 | COUNT | | | | |
    | 3 | TABLE ACCESS FULL| TESTTAB | 9262 | 35 (9)| 00:00:01 |

    2 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client
    0 sorts (memory)
    0 sorts (disk)
    1 rows processed
    So seeing that we have the exact same baseline for both queries, and that PIO does not influence the results, we time a 1000 executions of both.
    SQL> declare

    This shows that what makes the MAX() more expensive is just that - determining the MAX(). For each row, Oracle has to call its internal MAX() function with two values - the current max result and the new value. This function then returns the new max value. This overhead per row adds up to a significant overhead in execution time - making the MAX() approach 5x slower than the COUNT() approach.

  • How to restrict number of row/lines in a table in RTF

    Hi,
    Im working on PO report. It has header information in the header part of RTF. But coming to the lines , I put that under a different group in the table in the body part of the RTF. I did a FOR loop for printing PO Lines because it does have multiple line information. But now i have to restrict the number of rows in that table per page irrespective of number of PO Lines. After printing 20 rows in the table, it should go to the next page. Im going through the other threads for the solution.
    Thanks,
    venkat

    There are so many thread regarding this ,
    pls go thru them patiently...
    logic is something like....
    use if condition and position() and say page-break..
    use for-each@section instead of for-each..so that the headed info is maintained with regards to PO lines
    happy searching...

  • How to add the Row count(number of rows in table)  in  the table header?

    Hi,
    I'm having a table. This table is viewed when i click on a search button.
    <b>On the table header it should dynamically display the number of rows in the table, i.e., the row count.</b>
    How to do this? could any one explain me with the detailed procedure to achieve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh

    If you want to show a localized text in the table header, you should use the <b>Message Pool</b> to create a (parameterized) message "tableHeaderText" like "There are table entries".
    Next, create a context attribute "tableHeaderText" of type "string" and bind the "text" property of the table header Caption UI element to this attribute.
    Whenever the table data has changed (e.g. at the end of the supply function for the table's data source node), update the header text:
    int numRows = wdContext.node<TableDataSourceNode>().size();
    String text = wdComponentAPI.getTextAccessor().getText
      IMessage<ComponentName>.TABLE_HEADER_TEXT,
      new Object[] { String.valueOf(numRows) }
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setTableHeaderText(text);
    Maybe you want to provide a separate message for the case that there are no entries.
    Alternatively, you can make the attribute calculated and return the header text in the attribute getter.

  • How to control the number of rows selected from a sybase database table?

    Hi, JDBC guru,
    I'm working on project using Sybase 11.9.x database.We need to process a record in a table,first select it from the table,then do some computing,finally write it to a dbf file, if the above steps succeed,remove the original row in the table.Quite evidently, all these operation should be put into one transaction. But how can I select just a number of rows from the sybase database table?

  • How to set max. number of rows in a table?

    Hi,
    I'm working on a SCADA interface. In this application there are different tables with vertical scroll bar.
    I prefer to make visible only the initialized rows (I've initialized 40 blank rows of a table with a string array). Since the window not contain all 40 rows but only 20 rows, I set the rows number of "table properties window" to 20; so I added a vertical scroll bar.
    Now, when a user scroll the scroll-bar, he can view not only the 40 rows initializated, but an undefined number of rows.
    There's a way to visualize only a limited number of rows?

    In this database we have two tables, called KRT_PRODUCTS_INFO and KRT_STRUCTURES_INFO ( the table name don't really matter ).
    The scenario is as following:
    If we recreate these tables like:
    CREATE TABLE KRT_PRODUCT_INFO_BUP AS SELECT * FROM KRT_PRODUCT_INFO;
    DROP TABLE KRT_PRODUCT_INFO CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    CREATE TABLE KRT_PRODUCT_INFO (...) TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOLOGGING NOCOMPRESS NOCACHE NOPARALLEL MONITORING;
    CREATE INDEX KRT_PRODUCT_INFO_X1 ON KRT_PRODUCT_INFO (PRODUCT_NUMBER) NOLOGGING TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOPARALLEL;
    CREATE INDEX KRT_PRODUCT_INFO_X2 ON KRT_PRODUCT_INFO (PIM_ARTICLEREVISIONID) NOLOGGING TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOPARALLEL;
    INSERT INTO KRT_PRODUCT_INFO (SELECT * FROM KRT_PRODUCT_INFO_BUP);
    COMMIT;
    CREATE TABLE KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO_BUP AS SELECT * FROM KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO;
    DROP TABLE KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    CREATE TABLE KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO (...) TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOLOGGING NOCOMPRESS NOCACHE NOPARALLEL MONITORING;
    CREATE INDEX KRT_STRUCTURES_X1 ON KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO (STRUCTURE_GRP_REV_ID) NOLOGGING TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOPARALLEL;
    CREATE INDEX KRT_STRUCTURES_X2 ON KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO (STRUCTURE_GRP_IDENTIFIER) NOLOGGING TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOPARALLEL;
    CREATE INDEX KRT_STRUCTURES_X3 ON KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO (STRUCTURE_GRP_ID) NOLOGGING TABLESPACE PIM_DATA NOPARALLEL;
    INSERT INTO KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO (SELECT * FROM KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO_BUP);
    COMMIT;
    and we run a complex query with these two tables, this query only return a couple of rows ( exactly 24 !!! )
    If we however generate statistics on these tables after creation, the correct number of rows is returned, being 1.167.991 rows
    The statistics are gathered using:
    BEGIN
    SYS.DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS (
    OwnName => 'PIM_KRG'
    ,TabName => 'KRT_PRODUCT_INFO'
    ,Estimate_Percent => NULL
    ,Method_Opt => 'FOR ALL COLUMNS SIZE REPEAT '
    ,Degree => NULL
    ,Cascade => TRUE
    ,No_Invalidate => FALSE);
    END;
    BEGIN
    SYS.DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS (
    OwnName => 'PIM_KRG'
    ,TabName => 'KRT_STRUCTURE_INFO'
    ,Estimate_Percent => NULL
    ,Method_Opt => 'FOR ALL COLUMNS SIZE REPEAT '
    ,Degree => NULL
    ,Cascade => TRUE
    ,No_Invalidate => FALSE);
    END;
    /I can imagine that the 'plan' for the query used is wrong because of missing statistics.
    But I can't imagine that it would actually return an incorrect number of rows.
    I tested this behaviour in Toad and sqlplus ( first thought it was Toad ), and both behave the same.
    Another fact is, that the "problem" is NOT reproducable on our TEST environment, that runs on Oracle 11.1.0.7 on Windows2008
    Just to be sure this is the "complex" query used. It is not developed by me, and I think it looks somewhat strange but that shouldn't matter:
    SELECT sr."Identifier" STRUCTURE_IDENTIFIER
    , ar_i."Identifier" ITEM_NUMBER

    These two tables are in the PIM_KRG schema while the other tables in the query are distributed across two other schemas "KRAMP_HPM_MAIN" and "KRAMP_HPM_MASTER" ?
    Do you happen to have the same table names occurring in multiple schemas - the query is then referencing the data in the wrong schema ?
    Hemant K ChitaleHi,
    This is not the case. The KRAMP_HPM schema's are application dedicated schema's
    And this also then does not explain why the results are correct after generating statistics.
    Anyway thanks for the tip.

  • XMLIndex: finding indexed XPaths and the number of rows in the path table

    Hi,
    I am storing non-schema-based binary XMLs in an XMLType column in 11g (11.1.0.6.0) and would like to index the XMLs either partially or fully using XMLIndex. I'm expecting to have a large number (tens of millions) of XML documents and have some concerns about the size of the XMLIndex path table.
    In short, I am worried that the path table might grow unmanageable large. In order to avoid this and to plan for table partitioning, I would like to create a report of all indexed XPaths in an XMLIndex and to find out how many times each path is actualized in the path table. I would do this for a representative XML sample.
    I have been creating XMLIndexes with different exclude/include paths, gathering stats with DBMS_STATS (estimate_percent = 100) and selecting the number of rows in the path table through USER_TABLES.
    If anyone knows a more straightforward way of doing this all advice is very much appreciated.
    Best Regards,

    Thanks Marco,
    I managed to get out all indexed paths using the following SQL. It took a while to understand how the join the XDB.X$PT39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5 and XDB.X$QN39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5 tables together but got there in the end. This helps to clarify which XPaths are being currently indexed by the XMLIndex.
    begin
    for v_row in (select PATH from XDB.X$PT39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5)
    loop
    declare
    v_i BINARY_INTEGER := 1;
    v_id raw(8);
    v_len BINARY_INTEGER := 2;
    v_skip BINARY_INTEGER := 1;
    begin
    while v_i < utl_raw.length(v_row.path) and
    v_i + v_len <= utl_raw.length(v_row.path)
    loop
    v_i := v_i + v_skip;
    v_id := utl_raw.substr(v_row.path, v_i, v_len);
    --dbms_output.put_line(v_id);

    then
    dbms_output.put('@');
    end if;
    dbms_output.put(v_row2.localname);
    if v_i + v_len < utl_raw.length(v_row.path)
    then
    dbms_output.put('/');
    end if;
    end loop;
    v_i := v_i + v_len;
