Second Access Number

Hi.  I have an Australian Access number but I work in Malaysia.  HOw do I set up a second access number so that I can make calls to outside phones using skype from Malaysia?
Thanks

Unfortunately SkypeToGo isn't available in Malaysia.

  • How to add second access point using coax

I have FIOS with the coax line split out of the main fios box. One split goes to room A that has the Actiontec router and a STB.   The other line goes into room B where there is just a STB. I have poor wireless signal in room B and I would like to add a second access point.  I've read up on the devices that try to amplify your signal and see that they tend to reduce speeds, so this does not seem like a viable option. Because of my building arrangement, I can't do any sort of new wiring.
I'd like to try to minimize how much configuration I have to do and even if it means paying a bit more to do so. From what I can tell, I could split the coax in Room B and plug in an ActionTEC ECB2200.  But, this would only give me a ethernet connection. If I plug in a second router via that ethernet connection, would that give me a second access point? Would I need to set up the second router in bridge mode? If this is the case, would it just make sense to plug the second router in without the ActionTEC ECB2200 in bridge mode from the coax input?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, this is Section 3.2 in the link I provided earlier.

My only question is, when starting the process and performing the following:
2.1) You will need to reconfigure the remote router, BEFORE you connect it to the coax.
Perform a hard reset on the Actiontec to restore factory defaults.
Connect a PC to a LAN port of the Actiontec.
By default, DHCP server should be enabled on the Actiontec, so no need to set a static IP address on the PC.
Login to the router at 192.168.1.1
How do I connect the primary and secondary actiontec? Do I disconnect the primary and plug the secondary into coax and do all this, and then when finished plug the primary back in? Or, do i Ieave the primary plugged in the whole time?
First you set up the secondary router by connecting it to any computer using an Ethernet cable.  Assuming you have reset the device, go to 192.168.1.1 and make the necessary changes in router number two.
Leave the primary router alone (unless you decide on a scheme with a fixed IP for the second router) and it will supply an IP to router two, which will serve as a simple wireless access point.  Detailed settings and a step-by-step cookbook procedure are provided in the references given above.  Good luck.

  • Realizing the modem and voice access in 5300 with the same access number

I want to use the same access-number to realize the access to modem dial-up and voip voice call-in.But I do not know if it is possibility because of the confusion in the identifying the dial-up and voice call.

AS5300 distinguishes voice or modem call based on the called number (DNIS) received for a call. As long as the DNIS received is unique for voice and modem call , AS5300 can distinguish based on the configuration.

  • Outlook Voice Access number

    Hey guys,
I've also posted on Exchange 2013 but no one answered me there.
I'm trying to integrate Lync 2013 with Exchange 2013 and i have a coupe of questions:
    1. Can i use extensions for my Outlook Voice Access/Auto Attendant numbers? for example: +40756191140;ext=100 and +40756191140;ext=101 . All the users have non-DID numbers and they can contact each other internally with a 3 digit extension. I want to
set up the Outlook Voice Access/Auto Attendant numbers in the same way. Is it possible to enter these numbers like in the example?
    2. What is the "E.164
routing numbers for your SIP server" above the Outlook Voice Access numbers? Do i need to enter an extension for this too? Can it be the same as the Outlook Voice Access number?
I would really appreciate some help regarding these 2 questions.
    Thanks

You could use "+100" for example. In the dial plan, create normalization rule to add "+" to the three digits you use and make it first (or at least above the general rule for three digit extensions.)
If/when you implement EV, when call to the main number arrive on the gateway, you can transform it to "+100" and then send it to Lync. Of course, it is another question that with one PSTN number
only, you must make a choice which service you want to make available to PSTN. Or... you could configure this for AA and have an option for Outlook Voice Access.

  • Skype Access Number in Zurich Switzerland

I am going to Switzerland and will get a cell phone and SIM card once there in Zurich.
I want to use my current Skype account and have calls while there charged to the existing account.
    Can I do that?
Also need the Skype access number in Zurich.
    Thanks,
    Mr. Gamble
[Mod edit: Please do not include personal/private information when making a public post. Thanks!]

same here. Since a couple of days ago Skype to go number gives busy signal when called from a registered landline phone (worked before). When called from a registered mobile phone it gives 2 clicks and that's it.
Incidentally at the same time we changed the cable TV/internet equipment, but that shouldn't have anything to do because the lindline phone is on copper wire.
I must be a general Poland issue.
    ------------ UPDATE -------------
I have heard from the horse's mouth. My chat with nice people from Skype support (aka Microsoft) indicates that, as far as I understand it, the problem lies most probably with the provider (in my case Orange Polska, former TPSA). They may have changed the policy (no more Skype access and maybe also other ways of circumventing their revenue stream) or it is an instance of traffic shaping, which hopefully is temporary. It was also suggested to me to try changing the access number altogether, although without guarantee of successful resolution.
Guys please report back on this thread as the situation changes!

  • Webex access number doesn't connect

I tried to dial into a Webex conference using the UK access number 020 310 64804 and nothing happened. I could hear the blip blip when it was dialling but it wouldn't connect. When I dialled the same number with my landline, it works. I could dial in to the free 0800 number and that worked.
Is this because Webex is a competitor and Skype prevents access to that number?

I've been having the same problem for the past year or so, and it's been getting worse recently...

  • Subscriber access number.. cannot change!

I'm trying to change the subscriber access number. I have Lync 2013 and I need to assign the number to a user now.
The problem is I change the subscriber access number but it still remains. I even changed the contacts associated with it. I ran updates to the address book on Lync and everything.
However I still call the number and it takes you to the Exchange voicemail!
Am I missing a place to remove this number from Exchange and Lync?

It eventually started working. Took about an hour. Don't know what happened
