Secured FTP interface with ABAP

Hi Friends,
We are trying to extract a file which is in remote system from FTP folder, for which we were successful in extraction using 'HTTP_SCRAMBLE, FTP_CONNECT, FTP_R3_TO_SERVER, FTP_SERVER_TO_R3 function modules.
Similar to that we would like to extract data from SFTP folder as FTP is not secured. Are there any Function Modules which let us to extract data from SFTP folder through ABAP program. Or same function modules like above can be used here as well ?

Using secure FTP (SFTP) with XI 3.0.

Hi,
I must bring a document with SFTP protocol.
Is it possible use SFTP with XI 3.0. What must I do use SFTP with XI. Is it necessary to install some component to XI or it needs some 3hrd party components?

Hi Cemil,
Right now, XI does not have the feature of communicating with SFTP. You can extend the functionality of the File Adapter by writing some adapter modules to enable it to communicate with SFTP.

Accessing form interfaces with ABAP?

Hi experts!
I'm developing an email inbound class and i have to parse the incoming xml-file. To make it generic and more flexible, I want to read all my import fields out of my form interface to process it to my xml-file.
Can I access my form interface in any way or is that just impossible?

One can access struct members either via dot-noation if the keys are "valid variable names", or via bracket notation, eg:
myStruct["myKey"]
Using bracket notation does not have the valid-variable-name restrictions that dot notation has.

Interface Type "ABAP Dictionary-Based Interface" not generating Interac

Hi All,
I am getting problem in ABAP Adobe interactive forms in ECC6.
I tried designing Adobe interactive form by 2 following ways:
1) in SFP -->> Interface Type -->"ABAP Dictionary-Based Interface"
2) in SFP -->> Interface Type -->"XML Schema-Based Interface"
When I designed with 1st way I am not getting Interactive form, I get only read
only form when executing ABAP webdynpro application.
But same form giving interactive form when calling ABAP program.
But when I designed with 2nd(XML) way I am getting Interactive form. In Webdynpro application.
In both case i have kept view property as enabled.
Please guide me, Is there any step which is mandatory for Adobe interactive forms when
we use (SFP -->> Interface Type -->"ABAP Dictionary-Based Interface"), with ABAP webdynpro application.

XML Schema-Based Interface

Can we do a Secure FTP for an XML file from ABAP when firewall is enabled?

Hi all,
I have a requirement to send an XML file to an External FTP Server which is out of our corporate network and our firewall is enabled.

Now I need to FTP the XML file that is generated. How should I be doing this? Can some of help me with this?
I need to do a Secure FTP to the external non SAP server which is out of our corporate network and our firewall is enabled. Can some one tell me if SFTP is possible in ABAP.
This is not a web service. I am working on dropping an XML file in an external FTP serveru2026 I have searched the forums but still in a confusion if weather Secure FTP is possible in ABAP or not when our company firewall is enabledu2026
If some one encountered this situation earlier please help,,,..any help will be highly appreciated.

I agree with you Rich that web services would be a better option. But I need to send this file to an external third party and they dont have web services.
They are telling us that either we can send them an XML file or a CSV file in the format that they want. We decided to go with XML file format.
I am done with formatting the Purchase Order details in the format that they want. Now the challenge is that I need to send this FTP file to them and it should be a Secure FTP when our fire wall is enabled,
When you say
1) Run an ABAP program to generate the XML file and put it on the local PC
2) Log into the FTP site via some FTP client, could simply be windows as well.
3) Manually cut/paste the file from the PC to the FTP site.
For Step 1 running ABAP Program can I schedule a batch job?
For Step 2 and Step 3 can I automate it in any other way..if not in ABAP?
Can I advice my company to follow any alternate method in which they can automate this step 2 and step 3u2026if not in ABAP can it be possible in any other way as the third party does not have web services I now have no other alternative.

the "Professional"-Certification is very very hard - during my last Certifcation Exam, all candidates with the Pro-Exam failed (I was so glad I chose the normal certification...)
Here's how to book your exam:

Figure out the exam code for your certification. Example: For the US, there is a downloadable list (PDF) of exams available, called "list of the available certification exams".

I am Atush Rohan, I have done my "SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0" on 3rd April 2009.
I want to appear for "SAP Certified Development Professional - ABAP System Interfaces with SAP NetWeaver 7.0". I have about 3 and half years or experience in SAP ABAP. And I plan to give this certificate exam in the coming 6 months.
Could you please tell me how i apply for this exam, and whether SAP provides the certificate material for the exam "P_ABAP_SI_70". Waiting for a positive reply.

hi,
actually you can find your sid on your certificate itself ... your sid will start with SXX .. ok now along with this you will receive an envelope in which there would be an letter where detalis regarding your sid and password for login access in sap market place will be stated... so you can login with that in server market place.... usually you get this along with the certificate and is being provided by the centres authority... now if you have not received it so you need to contact your centre and tell them to give it to you... if they dont barged then you can ask them for the concern guy's email .... this guy is the one who receives all the documents relating with your certificate .. now this guy is someone from sap labs banglore ... also if you have not received your id card so you can mail him or tell your centre authority in that case now usually the centre guys take the matters lightly ...
ok and as far as your certification exams goes i did search the pearson website they really dont have that professional certification for the abap guys but they do have one for functionals and some other....
ok now you need to approach yout nearest certification centre in that case and simply ask them that you need to appear for level 2 certification also you can contact the sap labs banglore in that case but i know that they are not responding .....
so in that matter you tell your centre that you need to schedule the certification they will charge you the certification amount and then will schedule the date..... yes they can do that.

Interactive Form with ABAP DDIC Interface

I'm new on adobe interactive forms and I have some problems. I have a form with a abap dictionary based interface.
When I test my web dynpro application with the interactive form, it is not interactive. :-P
And yes the property "enabled" of the UI-Element is marked.
First I watched an e-Learning an build a web dynpro application with a from which has a interface based on xml.
I generated the inteface of the form from my context. It works fine.
But with a interface based on xml I dont't know how I can get a table on my PDF in the Adobe Lifecycle Designer.
So I searched snd n the forum and found a tutorial (InteractiveForm_and_Dynamic_Tables). Like in this tutorial I created a interface based on ABAP Dictionary and a form with a table. Then I choose this form on my UI-Element as templateSource and generate the context from the interface. But as i mentioned above, now the PDF isn't interactive.
Any idea?

You can create Interactive form with ABAP dictionay based interface. You need to add following code in method "WDDOMODIFYVIEW" of your view.
DATA: LR_INTERACTIVE_FORM TYPE REF TO CL_WD_INTERACTIVE_FORM,
LR_METHOD_HANDLER TYPE REF TO IF_WD_IACTIVE_FORM_METHOD_HNDL.
CHECK FIRST_TIME = ABAP_TRUE.
LR_INTERACTIVE_FORM ?= VIEW->GET_ELEMENT( 'TEST' ).
LR_METHOD_HANDLER ?= LR_INTERACTIVE_FORM->_METHOD_HANDLER.
LR_METHOD_HANDLER->SET_LEGACY_EDITING_ENABLED( ABAP_TRUE ).

I am developing a secure FTP client.
Is there any free API available in the market which I can be reuseable in my application?
If not please provide me some link so that I can develope such API using JSSE API.
FYI-I am following the Internet Draft, �Securing FTP with TLS� by Ford-Hutchinson,a specification for realizing RFC2228, �FTP Security Extension� using TLS.

Sorry, I think the SAP function modules FTP_CONNECT, FTP_COMMAND und FTP_DISCONNECT are implemented according to RFC859 which is far behind secure connections. As SAP ftp goes throug SAP RFC destinations, this may be the spot where something has to be done to enable a secure connection.
