Securing individual iOS App's with password, how to?

Hi there,
this could be a strange question in this section, but I couldn't find a section regarding only the usage of iOS.
So my question is about, if there is a way to lock individual applications with an other application from the Appstore, or using the iPhone configuration tool, or similar way with a password. It's not only to keep friends and other rubberneck's from my photo app, but to block also the Appstore and iTunes App on my iOS devices, without going all the way into settings -> general -> restrictions -> and so on. That's extremely annoying if I have to do this 20x a day. If someone haves a suggestion and/or solution, that would be great.

There is no way to lock individual applications except through Restrictions, unless the app offers this feature.

Regarding Automation Of The iOS App Compiled With Enterprise Program

Hi,
We have to automate the iOS app, compiled with `Enterprise Developer Account` build in `Adobe Flash Builder Environment`. We have checked the provision profile attached with the IPA file and the value of `getTaskAllow` is set to `False`, so it seems that the app is build with `Distribution Profile`.
As the app is developed from Enterprise Developer Account, so we are able to install and run the app in real device, but `Appium` as well as `Instruments` is unable to debug it and showing an error "Permission to debug <BUNDLE ID OF APP> was denied. The App must be signed with a development identity (e.g iOS Developer)".
So, is it necessary to build the app with `Developer Provisioning Profile` and mentioning the UDID of the device in the Development Provisioning Profile, so as to debug the app via `Appium` or `Instruments` ?

Yes. I can export Distribution certificates and Distrubution provisioning files and Flash will then export the .ipa file without issue. However when I go to install the app it seems to go over to the iPad and then I get a failure notice on the iPad. I am wondering if I am installing it incorrectly or if there is some step I'm missing. I am dragging the .ipa to iTunes to install it. If I export both the cert and the provisioning files as Development files the app goes on the iPad without issue, however it will expire in a couple of months so that is not what I want. I recently found this link http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/distributing-enterprise-ios-vi ewer-apps.html which leads me to believe I have to distrubute the .ipa differently, however I was hoping someone had seen a similar tutorial for a Flash ipa. Or is this similar (or exactly) what I need to do?

What does it mean "Will Install" when I tried to install/sync an iOS app in iTunes and how long is the wait until the app is installed/Sync on my iOS device

I am testing an iOS app developed by my team. When I tried to update the new version, I kept receiving the "Will Install" status. What do I have to do to get it installed as soon as I sync the device? If I have to wait for whatever reasons, how long do I have to wait for the status to change. I am using iTunes 11.0.1 (12). I found that I had "restrictions" turned on under general settings. Turned them off, rebooted the iPad and it was able to install apps from iTunes.

IOS app starts with black screen when compiled via ADT (Flex 4.6, AIR3.7)

I was using Flex 4.6 with AIR 3.1 in Flash Builder 4.6 on Windows 7. I used two build methods: 1) "Export Release Build" in Flash Builder during development and 2) the ADT toolchain on my build server.
For the ADT method I would create AIR intermediate files using:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\FlashBuilderC.exe" --launcher.suppressErrors -noSplash -application org.eclipse.ant.core.antRunner -data [PATH_TO_SOURCE] -file [PATH_TO_BUILD_XML] [PROJECT_NAME]
Where my build.xml looks like:

From these intermediate AIR files I would create my APK and IPA files using ADT like so (shown for iOS):

This procedure produced working iOS and Android apps as well.
I decided to upgrade AIR to version 3.7. I used the overlay proceedure described here (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/how-overlay-air-sdk-flex-sdk.html). I also updated the namespace in my project to reflect the new AIR version. Using "Export Release Build" in Flash Builder produces working copies of both the iOS and Android apps. Furthermore, the secondary method (used on my build server), produces both APK and IPA files without error. The APK works just fine but the IPA does not. When running the app on an Apple device, it starts up with a black screen and stays this way.
To summarize:
Flex 4.6, AIR 3.1: "Export Release Build" and ADT tool chain produce working APK and IPA files.
Flex 4.6, AIR 3.7 using overlay procedure: "Export Release Build" produces working APK and IPA files, ADT tool chain produces working APK file but IPA file loads black screen on Apple devices.
More notes:
I had made a back up of the "4.6.0" directory that holds the Flex and AIR SDK files. If I replace the overlayed Flex 4.6.0 SDK directory with the original (which contains AIR 3.1) and revert the namespace back to 3.1 in my project, everything goes back to normal and I get working apps via both methods described above.
Edit: I also should note that I've tried many other combinations of Flex and AIR (Flex 4.9.1 from Apache and AIR 3.5/3.6), which all produce the same issue. It seems that the overlay procedure breaks something for ADT with iOS specifically...
Edit 2: I also noticed that the IPA files output by methods 1 and 2 are slightly different. Opening these with 7-Zip I see that most of the files are the same, but some differ slightly in size (this was due to 'ipa-test' vs 'ipa-ad-hoc'). The odd thing is that in the IPA file that does not work (produced via the ADT method), the SWF file is named "swf3465180827438224920.tmp" while the SWF in the IPA that was created using "Export Release Build is named "[PROJECT_NAME].swf". It almost appears as though ADT fails to rename the temporary SWF file. I also realized that the "Export Release Build" method likely used '-target ipa-ad-hoc', so I tried this in the ADT method with the same result.
Any thoughts?

Thank you for your response. I have tried AIR 3.8 Beta and this did not correct the problem. I downloaded the AIR 3.7 SDK from http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/latest/AdobeAIRSDK.zip . I have also tried with the new compiler as well, with the same result.
To keep things simple, I've created a very lightweight example with which I see the issue. I've also been able to remove the Flash Builder step and reproduce the problem with mxmlc and adt only. Since the files are simple, I will just post them here.

If you unpack the working IPA (from method 1) you will see the file "TestApp.ipa\Payload\TestApp.app\TestApp.swf". However, if you likewise inspect the IPA created via the AIR intermediate method (method 2), you will see the file "TestApp.ipa\Payload\TestApp.app\swf1970057761096800694.tmp" and there will be no "TestApp.swf". In both IPA files, if we inspect "TestApp.ipa\Payload\TestApp.app\Info.plist", we see the snippet:

So I suspect "TestApp.ipa\Payload\TestApp.app\swf1970057761096800694.tmp" is incorrectly named, cannot be found at runtime and thus displays a black screen.
This problem is observed when using AIR 3.7. It is not observed when using AIR 3.1.

I do have the exception saved password box that opens&removes but the do not have the Security seach bar for saving site passwords how do I get to this?

I recently wiped my phone as I had over 10gb in 'Other'. I decided rather than restore the previous backup, I chose to set up 'new iphone'.
Is there any way to recover individual save game or apps from iTunes or iCloud backups (e.g. Angry Birds progress!)

Sorry, the restore from backup is all or nothing. No supported way to edit an iPhone backup.

Can I use the Chrome for iOS app with Chromecast?

I recently purchased a Chromecast for my home television to see how it stacks up to the Apple TV3 (which I also have). I see very clearly that Netflix and YouTube are well integrated for use with this dongle but I do not see that Chrome for iOS is (on iPhone or iPad). It seems counterintuitive to not have the Chrome iOS app work with Chromecast even though other iOS apps do (Netflix;Youtube). Can anyone confirm or deny whether or not we can, or in the near future be able to, use the iOS Chrome app with Chromecast? It is in this very department that AppleTV has the Chromecast beaten, among others.
Also, Google Groups seems difficult to navigate in order to post my question there. If anyone has any insight for that as well I would greatly appreciate it.

IOS App Store hijacked by Bible sellers?

I object to the fact that when searching in the iOS App Store with the keywords "student newspapers," the results are mostly Bibles. The Bible sellers apparently have hijacked the iOS App Store by learning how to game the system to generate their apps in the wrong category, as Bibles are not student newspapers.
Please fix the iOS App Store so that Bibles are not listed when people do a search for student newspapers. I have reported this three times, but nothing has been done about it.

I had realised that my iPhone Date & Time settings were not on auto so I can manually change them. Also I had heard rumours that other peoples' iPhones were doing the same thing as mine. I had looked into it for a day or so and found the answer on a website from Google.

You may reset the password on your account by opening https://iforgot.apple.com/ in Safari and entering your Apple ID (your email address, which the moderators should have removed earlier).
You won't be able to set the password to your email address, or a recently-used password (if I remember correctly).
Once you change your password, you should update your password on your iOS device in Settings > iTunes & App Store, then tapping the "Apple ID: <username>" cell at the top to re-enter your password. (Your iOS device may prompt you for the new password before getting to Settings as well.)

You can't. Apps and really all content purchased/downloaded through one Apple ID is forever tied to that Apple ID. In the case of Apps they will always request that Apple ID to update as they are licensed to that Apple ID.
In reality, the Apps were licensed to that Apple ID by the developer. And cannot simply be given away to you for you to use.
He should have wiped the iPod clean so you could set it up for your use without any of his accounts or purchased content as you are not really licensed to any of those Apps.
