Security in ODI-specific access to projects and folders

Is there anyway to give project or folder-specific access within ODI?
Some users want to be able to run jobs-but I dont want them to see other projects within ODI.

I have managed to create a 'connect without context' profile for non-generic versions, and it works great for projects and folders.
Now, how do I do the same for models and datastores?I want users to be able to access, view, and query data only in specific model/datastores. I have tried assigning specific view rights etc to the specific tables-but everytime the user tries to 'view data' or 'data', he gets an error:
cannot display table's data (java.lang.nullpointerexception)
If I use generic privileges with the existing profiles, everything works great. But we want to make access more specific for each user.

This appears to be another good reason to check out all the reasons why one
would want or need to upgrade a working OS X version, since these kinds of

Auditing failed access to files and folders in Windows Storage Server 2008 R2

I've been trying to figure out why I cannot audit the failed access to files and folders on my server. I'm trying to replace a unix-based NAS with a Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 solution so I can use my current audit tools (the 'nix NAS
has basically none). I'm looking for a solution for a small remote office with 5-10 users and am looking at Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 (no props yet, but on a Buffalo appliance). I specifically need to audit the failure of a user to access
folders and files they are not supposed to view, but on this appliance it never shows. I have:
Enabled audit Object access for File system, File share and Detailed file share
Set the security of the top-level share to everyone full control
Used NTFS file permissions to set who can/cannot see particular folders
On those folders (and letting those permissions flow down) I've set the auditing tab to "Fail - Everyone - Full Control - This folder, subfolders and files"
On the audit log I only see "Audit Success" messages for items like "A network share object was checked to see whether client can be granted desired access (Event 5145) - but never a failure audit (because this user was not allowed access by NTFS permissions).
I've done this successfully with Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 w/SP1 and am wondering if anybody has tried this with the Windows Storage Server version (with success of course). My customer wants an inexpensive "appliance" and I thought this new
variant of 2008 was the ticket, but I can't if it won't provide this audit.
Any thoughts? Any of you have luck with this? I am (due to the fact I bought this appliance out of my own pocket) using the WSS "Workgroup" flavor and am wondering if this feature has been stripped from the workgroup edition of WSS.

The steps to setup Audit on a WSS system should be the same as a standard version of Windows Server. So please redo the steps listed below to see if issue still exists:
Enabling file auditing is a 2-step process.
[1] Configure "audit object access" in AD Group Policy or on the server's local GPO. This setting is located under Computer Configuration-->Windows Settings-->Security Settings-->Local Policies-->Audit Policies. Enable success/failure auditing
for "Audit object access."
[2] Configure an audit entry on the specific folder(s) that you wish to audit. Right-click on the folder-->Properties-->Advanced. From the Auditing tab, click Add, then enter the users/groups whom you wish to audit and what actions you wish to audit
- auditing Full Control will create an audit entry every time anyone opens/changes/closes/deletes a file, or you can just audit for Delete operations.

Nearly automatically.
This will be a major upgrade, and Aperture will have to upgrade your library.
As a precaution, make sure you have a working backup of your library, and I'd keep a copy of the Aperture 2.1.4 Application installer as well.
Also it is recommended to repair the permissions and to rebuild the library, to make sure that the library has no corruptions before you upgrade.
Rename the Aperture Library to a name different from the default name before you upgrade.
Launch the new Aperture version by double clicking your Aperture library. Aperture will prompt you, that it is necessary to upgrade the library; let it run, this may take a while. And yes, you should find all your photos, projects, folders, etc. after the upgrade just as you imported and organized them.

Launch Elements 11 Organizer. On the top left, you will find a big Import button. Click on it, and choose last option (From iPhoto).

HT4591 I have a project that I made in Motion 5.0.1. I have updated to Motion 5.0.4 since, but the project will no longer open. Is there a way to revert to Motion Version 5.0.1 at least temporarily so that I can access the project and add a few polishes

It seems that the 5.0.1 project file has become corrupt. It was generated on an older MacBook Pro Model (2008) and occasionally acted unpredictably. We have since upgraded hardware and are working on a much more robust machine, but we need to access this project file to make some final tweaks for the client.
Is there a way I could revert to Motion 5.0.1 and access this file for the final tweaks? After these, that project will be laid to rest and I will no longer need an older version of the program.

I had a problem with a 5.0.3 project that would cause 5.0.4 to crash. Apple asked for a copy of the project and later told me it was because there were some empty text layers. Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
In my case I still had 5.0.3 on another Mac and could clean up the project. If empty text layers might be the problem, do you know someone with an earlier version who could open it and remove the empty layers? I'd be willing to give it a try if you'd want to send me the project.

Accessing Mac HD and folders

I have a recurring problem that continues to be a mystery. When I double click on my Mac HD icon the window opens, quickly closes and then everything on my desktop disappears then reappears. The only way I can access anything on my computer is to use an untitled empty folder on the desktop. There are various other problems. From the time this problem started, I no longer have free access to previously created frequently used folders on my desktop. If I try to click and drag something into one of these folders it tells me I have to authenticate (like I'm trying to load new software). Once I enter my admin name and password I can move the item. Also, when I try to open iPhoto it tells me it's locked and I don't have permission to access it. Then it closes. Yes, I have gone into "info" and made sure it items are not locked. It says I have all permissions to everything.
I suspect that I have a corrupt file somewhere that is causing all the mischief but have no idea how to go about finding it.

Without knowing the files, I can't say. You may want to post that question in the iLife/iPhoto folder.
Meanwhile, run Repair Disk: Boot from install disc (insert disc>restart>immediately hold down c key and keep holding it until you see “Preparing Installation”)>at first screen go to Installer Menu>open Disk Utility>select your HD in the panel on the left side>click Repair Disk at bottom of main window. Run this at least twice, and keep running it until it says “appears ok” twice in a row. If that doesn’t happen, you may need a stronger utility such as DiskWarrior or if the directory is damaged beyond repair, you may need to reinstall the OS, or you may have a damaged HD (repair utilities can only repair the directory structure, not the HD itself).

Synchronise Projects and Folders?

In Lightroom I mirror my hard disc folder structure in the Lightroom catalogue, and can synchronise the catalogue if I have made changes to the basic hard disc folder structure and contents - the Synchronise command! Is there a way to use Aperture like this? To me, far more natural than creating Projects which can be entirely de-referenced from what's on your discs.
I have found this question raised once in here but not answered.

The role of a Security consultant in any SAP product implementation (not just GRC) is wide enough and it's hard for anyone to sum up on a single forum post. Still I can give you some pointers.
Security consultants come from different backgrounds, some from networking, database administration, infrastructure and even development like me. They contribute enormously to any product implementation from scratch (landscape design) to go-live (and continuous maintenance) so they are active on every phase of the implementation.
Following are some of the activities they may perform (or participate)
-System Landscape Design (work closely with BASIS and DBAs)
-Check Infrastructure feasibility from security perspective (For Portals exposed to internet or extranet work closely with network providers for firewall security, VPS etc.)
-Propose security guidelines, access policies, disaster recovery plan, business continuity roadmap (work closely with information security consultants and internal auditors or risk management teams)
- Implement SAP solution specific Security measures (involves almost every SAP solution) for example: SAP R/3 security, GRC, BW/BI, HR, FI, Portal security etc.
- participate in application integration for example: LDAP, IDM, SAP UME, shared directories etc (User master records security is on high priority).
- Check for any possible backdoor access vulnerabilities (ex: open RFCs, function modules like ping_rfc), and it involves almost all SAP solutions and there are special procedures to analyze such vulnerabilities.
there are many such activities that a security consultant perform on day to day basis. Please do not interprete the above mentioned activities (entirely) as a criteria for any security consultant profile. There are many many possibilities for a security consultants to work from pen testing to SoD violation remediation. That's why I said it's not easy to sum up security.
Always remember, Security and GRC are two sides of a coin they work together. however GRC is more of a combination of policy, regulation, events and involves management participation whereas security is a purely technical practice.

Opinions on how to keep Projects and GL in balance with each other

We have a custom process that takes an Excel spreadsheet and allows the users to enter a Project transaction and a GL journal. We then have a program that splits the data between projects and GL and ftps the to the appropriate interface table. Within that program that splits the data, it also creates a clearing transaction for the total of the Projects dollars to be sent to GL. When Projects runs the Interface to GL, it uses Autoaccounting rules to credit the clearing account that was sent with the original entry. This is their way of keeping these specific entries in Projects and GL 'in sync'. How would you do this with standard functionality in Projects and GL? Do you have a similar business need to make an entry in GL and a matching entry in Projects? If so, how do you make those entries?
Example:
Projects transaction
expenditure type 70100,
Project 1/task1               100
GL journal
Account 11000                100
Clearing account 15505          -100
Run Distribute in PA
AA Rule account is 15009     -100
Run interface to GL from PA
AA Rule account is 15505     100
15505 is the clearing account between GL and PA.

If there is a logic that could be code using SQL statement, you may be able to use it to derive the AA credit cost clearing account.
If the clearing account is not based on any rules, then you might need to continue with existing process.

IMovie 10 crashes when attempt to update projects and events of external HDs.

No way to update projects and events. Crash every time after few minutes of processing. Without external HD, works fine. To access older projects and work on it, the only way seems to be uninstal iMovie 10 and return to 9.

I do not have exactly the same issue, but iMovie 10 seems buggy as all get out and the alledged bugs cause the system to hang something fierce. There are a number of ways to trigger a crash, apparently, but it always proceeds the same way.
The screen - the display - goes all big pixelly and wonky. The computer becomes partially unresponsive. Controls in the apple menu at left end of menu bar work, so I can try some things. Relaunching finder does not help. Logging out does not help. Only shutdown and reboot clears the screen.
But after a few minutes of trying things in iMovie 10, it crashes again. The crash goes the same way each time, but it seems to be triggered by different things.
I have added screen shot - (hope I added a screen shot, anyway. ) Too bad. I think I like iMovie 10.

To use the template project you have to first create a template of your own.
Steps to create and use the Template .
1. Create a project in "solar_project_admin" select the project type as TEMPLATE project and create the business senarioes and the solutions that you need to give as template.
2. Next in solar_project _admin if you go and see in the template tab the above newly created template will be available.
3. Check the template and save now all the scope and the process you need to add will be available in this .

I have been a long time Firefox user and this is the first time I am truly baffled. Now if I try to log into gmail or any google account on my main PC I just get an error message as below.

Hi Benoit,
If you give "All" access to a parent entity it means that the user will be able to read/write/promote an entity. If in the application properties "Node security" attribute, you have selected "Entity" the access will be available only for the specific entity. If you have selected "Parent" then the specific access will be available for all the children of that entity.
Check the admin manual page 90.

You won't be able to change the address until you can answer 2 of your questions - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
