Security on formatting such as Hyperlinks

Hi All,
I have two webi reports. The summary report has a measure which act as hyperlinks to a detailed report. When a user clicks on the link it opens the detailed report where dimension values are passed as parameters to the detailed report.
Can i apply security to the hyperlinks? What i need only one group of users need to see the hyperlnks and click on them. For other group of users the measures should look like plain text and they should not be able to click on them. That is one group of users should be able to see only the summary report.
One thing i am able to do is if they click on the link they will go to the detailed report but wont see any data. Now the need is that they should not be able to click on the links and they should be able to see as plain text and dont want to confuse them showing links which they shall not click.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi,
you can this by injecting HTML code in your report. Instead of using the Hyperlink feature you can create a variable for your measure that generate HTML code:
eg: ="<A href='/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=xxxxxx'>" + FormatNumber([MyMeasure];"#####") + "</A>"
where MyMeasure is the measure you want to display and xxxxxx is the ID of your report object.
You can insert this variable in the column of your table and then select to read this a HTML code (+Format->Display->Read cell as->HTML)
I think that it is obvious now how you can extend this logic to avoid creating a hyperlink when a condition is not met and instead display the value of the measure as is.

PS: The hyperlink will be displayed correctly when you invoke the report in the infoview.

The iView through which the user tries to access the system must be programmed to get the mapped user data from the data repository and write the user credentials (user ID and password) in a header field of the request. The system can then log on the user with these credentials. This can be done using the Java APIs provided with SAP Enterprise Portal.

Premiere Pro Does Not Support Audio-Only Capture For Some Formats, Such As HDV?

In the PPro CS 5.5 Help file under, "Recording audio", it says:
"Note: To capture an audio-only file from a digital video source, choose Audio from the Capture menu in the Logging pane of the Capture panel.
"Premiere Pro does not support audio-only capture for some formats, such as HDV."
I'm shooting in HDV and if I want to capture audio only, would I just need to switch my setting to DV?
The only thing is my Canon HV20's HDV audio is MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2, 16 bit, 48 kHz.
My DV setting is PCM audio, which I think is a better quality format, right?
Would there be any noticeable difference?

Capture your HDV material in the normal way and just drag audio only from the source monitor to the timeline.

With IE I have multiple formats such as MP4 that I can use to D/L you tube music videos but with Mozilla it has me load Adobe Flash which I already had and then I can only D/L utiliaing the FLV format - I want multiple options as I have in IE - help?

And what is the point of all this? CS3 is now 7 years old and Office 2003 just the same. Yes, sometimes software has bugs and compatibility issues. Beyond there is nothing here to discuss on either end, given the circumstances...

Our engineering is aware of this change but unfortunately at this point we dont have a definite timeline for a patch. Hopefully we will be able to implement it soon.
In the mean time, we have to take help of regex and provide workaround.

How do I avoid the recipient of my PDF receiving a security warning when clicking on hyperlinks?

I create PDF's out of Indesign to send to new clients. They contain links to external websites. They do not contain any javascript or videos or hidden links. If the PDF is opened in Adobe Reader, when the recipient clicks on a hyperlink in my PDF they get a security warning asking if they trust the site. How can I avoid the recipient receiving this Security Warning as it would scare people into thinking I had sent them something malicious when I haven't?

There's nothing you can do as the creator of the file. If you could, that whole source of security would be worthless.
They would need to tweak their security settings in Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced).

How to apply a format to all hyperlink in CS4 file

Hello, this is my first post,
We are writing a magazine that we will publish as a PDF. We would like all hyperlink to stand out (we created a character style with these attributes: Candara Bold, Dark Red). The magazine will have a lot of hyperlinks in the form of numbers ("go to section 145") so manually formatting them is our last resort.
We could not find an option in CS4 to do so. Any idea? Maybe GREP rules? Something else?

If you were a bit more specific in your request, I think we could come up with better advice for you. John's seemingly less-than-helpful suggestion is, I think, actually the best solution if you are keying your text directly into ID. But we don't know how your magazine is being written (Word content placed correctly with File -> Place? copied and pasted from web browser? Google Docs? database?), so it's hard to make appropriate suggestions. If you're keying it in manually every time, do you have enough control over the people doing the keying so they type the same "go to section ###" everytime? Is there any chance that they'll say "please see section ###" instead? If so, and if it's easier to trust 'em to type it the same way everytime than it is to trust 'em to apply a character style, then maybe a GREP style is the way to go.
If they are already set up as links in ID, then you can shift-select them all in the Hyperlinks panel and choose "Hyperlink Options" and associate 'em all with a character style in one go. This is completely obvious to me but once again we don't really know what it's like on your side.

Conditional Build tags affecting formatting and merging hyperlinks

I'm working in RH6 on a number of projects. In all of them I use a specific caption box/format combination for tips and notes. I also use a conditional build tag so I can generate a 'lite' versions of full help, suitable for printing. I note that on occasions, when I apply the build tag, I lose the formatting on the text - or the entire formatting of the text is applied where I don't want it applied.
Wrose, still, I find that applying a build tag to a list of hyperlinks can merge the link addresses so they all point to the same area, which is pretty disastrous.
Is this a bug Adobe know about? Is it fixed in 7 or 8?
Any advice appreciated.

Well, I wasn't suggesting it wasn't a bug.
I suppose it's quite likely that something is getting munged. Actually, I think that's rather obvious as it's happening to you.
I think perhaps the editor is becoming confused. I believe the way these things are handled is by using some specially formatted span tags to apply the CBTs.
By the way, these new forums now support screen captures. So we no longer have to resort to a reasonable facsimile using only text.
Sorry I don't really have a workaround to offer here. At this point I'm as puzzled as you are.

Convert .f4f on Adobe Media Server to another format such as .mp4

Anyone know how I can convert a .f4f file back a regular file such as a .mp4. On my Adobe Server I have a live DVR functionaility setup, and in the applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_\ path I have .f4f files that's been cached that I would like to convert back a .mp4 for archival purposes.

Keep in mind that .f4f format is directly playable through many Flash Players on the web, also the hls-vod and hds-vod Apache modules can produce the manifest and playlist .f4m and .m3u8 on the fly with the .f4f as well. I would recommend leaving the files in .f4f as if they become corrupted, they are easily recoverable. Eseentially when you scrub a .f4f to .mp4 losslessly you are removing the interval metadata stored within the file rendering it subsceptible to not being recoverable if something would happen to the media the data is contained on.
It is also a good idea to "rename" the entire contents of a /stream/_definst_/ live stream as the meta data and control files can be used to generate .m3u8 manifests when streaming over HLS and future developments of software come about you will have the entire set of data of the storeed live stream. This is essentialy what the new HLS Packager that is bundled with AMS 5.x.x when taking .mp4 from other sources to generate your manifests and playlists .m3u8 and stream via HTTP HLS.
You can essentially modify the main.asc on interactive and enterprise editions of AMS to simply "Rename" the stream directories, and then sym link the /stream/_definst_/ to the /application/vod/media to directly replay a live stream through RTMP VOD, or hls-vod or hds-vod seamlessly. Renaming the directories is a perfect solution rather than "copying" as the main.asc if copying a large stream will render the "pkgr" application not responsive to immediately rebroadcast a stream until the contents of the directory is copied to another location. You can then pass particular "stream id strings" in which the main.asc can parse and perfom a specific function, as by defualt "record" and "append" modes preform those fucntions as such. append meaning adding to the existing .f4f, and record meaning to erase and start over the .f4f. You could pass a string to rename the directory to what the string parameter contains. i.e. &adbe-rename-mode=rename.to.%"

Files are not copied to drives in a particular order. How they appear on a card depends upon how you have your computer set to display them. If I view a card with files and I have clicked the column header for "file modified date" then it will display in that order. The only time the copying of the files across to a flash drive will influence how your music appears in your player is if the player uses the file names to display the file order, with possibly some extra structure added using folders. If it reads the data inside the files then it will display them pretty much as iTunes would use them and how exactly they are displayed will depend upon how the player actually works. The other way (as I have already said) is if the player uses a special file to tell it how it should order the files on the display. When I last rented a new car it simple read the data inside the files as iTunes does and if a humble Ford Focus can do that then I suspect that is how Audi does it. If it is not doing this then maybe your files do not contain the data, or your simply have not read the special manual for the MMI that I see on Audi's website it provides to its owners and discovered how to set the view order.
Since nobody has seen to it I have been bestowed with an Audi you may have to wait for another Audi owner to answer this, or perhaps do some investigating yourself. If you type "Audi MMI A4" into a web search it will lead you to a bunch of videos on Audi's web site on how to use the MMI. My computer is old and my connection speed is slow so I absolutely hate instructional videos online and I will let you plow through them to see if any provide the information you need.
My understanding from Phil0124 statement is it is simply telling you to copy all the files in the Media folder to the card.
When I cut and paste the iTunes library onto my SD card, it put all of songs in a strange order. It had all of some number 1 from all the albums, then song 2, etc. It didn't keep them in album / artist setup. For some reason it won't copy over in the same structure.
Is this how you are seeing it when viewed on your computer, or is this how you are seeing it in the MMI? If that is how you are seeing it on the computer, forget it, or do as Phil01234 says and drag across folders from the main Media folder in the iTunes folder.
By the way, on a Mac to copy files from one drive to another you simply drag them, no copy and paste.
