See ALL files that ONE file links to?

I am wondering if it is possible to choose a file (say "test_photo.jpg" image) and see ALL of the other files that the image is linked to.So ideally, I would like to choose "test_photo.jpg" and somewhere it would show me that "test_photo.jpg" is used as a link in "brochure_layout.indd", "business_card.ai", and "postcard.indd".
This could be in Adobe Bridge, in the meta data, in another program, anything really. I just want to know if this information is stored somewhere on the computer?
I know that Bridge can select an InDesign file & tell you what the links are; but that is not the information that I'm looking for; again, this is more for images files to see ALL of the different files that link to it.
Hope someone has some insight if this exists.
Thanks!
Tia

The only thing that comes to my mind is that you have one specific keyword written to all these files (many file types can store metadata but not all so that might be a problem) and then use the find command on the main folder and criteria the specific keyword to find.
Otherwise I agree with Station Two

  • PSE9 Organizer - How to see all files in Folder view?

In v8, there is a tab under Edit/Preferences named "Folder Location View" that allowed one to select either to see all files or just those in the folder that is selected.  I can't find this option in PSE9.  Anyone know what happened to it?
PSE0 defaults to seeing only those files in the selected folder, which is normally my preference as well, except when I am doing certain things and then I really need to see all files in all folders.
For example, I need/want to write my tags to the file meta data in all of my files, but I have to go to each folder individually to do this and then I can only do it on that individual folder.  I really would like to be able to select all of my files and fire it off (yes, I know that would take forever, but I could go do something else while it is processing.)
This is the second reason that upgrading to PSE9 is really downgrading.  One shouldn't lose functionality that has existed in several (all?) previous versions!
Hopefully, this setting has just moved and I can't find it.  If not, Adobe, please add it back in ASAP!!
    Thanks,

Oh, I forgot to comment on the ability to create an album instantly by folder name.
That really seems like a pretty useless "feature" for all but the most challenged user.
All you need to do without the feature is select all photos in a folder (ctrl a) and then drag them to the folder name.  That just doesn't seem to be all that difficult.
    Thanks again.

  • Why cant I see all files on my SD card?

On my old PC I just connected my Nikon camera and transfered my pictures and the deleted on the camera SD card. On my Mac that seems impossible. First of all its not possible to connect(USB) the camera. That is possible to solve by just entering the SD card directly to the Mac. The next issue though is that I cant see all files. When I have deleted the pictures some kind of files are still on the card meaning there isnt a full memory space left. Again, on the PC this is clera but on the Mac I cant see the files. Can somebody help me?

Well, a card always has a very small portion for its own system on it. And, deleting the cards on the computer is not the best idea - it may work for some time, but it is best to format the card in the camera (which erases it). After you drag the pictures to the trash and empty it, what exactly is left on the card? Can you post a screenshot of the remaining file(s) please.

How to see all devices that are connected to Apple ID

Are you using a software to see all devices that are supposed to be connected to your router? You can reset and start over with your router.  Make sure you have a security enabled on it like WPA Personal. You can try DHCP Reservation as well to ensure that the devices that will have access to your router are only the ones you included on the list.

  • Is it possible to see all pages in one document at once?

    Hey.
So I can't figure out if it's possible to see all pages in one document at once, so that it's all on screen at the same time.
Is it possible and if it is then how so?
Thanks in advance for any kind of help

Wouldn't that depend on how many pages there are, how large your screen is and how small you were willing to put up with in the thumbnails?

  • Need to see ALL files in folder when saving from Word 2003 OR Word 2013 program

Here is the issue.... A customer of mine has the need to save files in order (Communications with customers by date and time)
BUT..... when saving the file word does not let him see ALL the documents (.doc AND .docx) in the save dialog. (I know we could convert but there seems to be issues with the conversion, at least on the research I have done)
Is there a way for the Word save dialog box to display ALL the files in the selected folder?  OR is this just an undocumented feature OR a WOW we never thought of that....
    Thanks!

    Hi,
When we save a Word document, the "Save As" dialog only displays these files which are the same type as the one we are trying to save. To display other types of files, select from the "Save as type" box, but I haven't realized there's a way to show
all types of files when saving. This is just how it works so far.
    Thanks,

  • Why can't a user see all files in a network share?

Windows Server 2008 R2 is sharing a folder. Advanced Sharing permissions give Everyone Full Control.
NTFS Permissions give the OU "Operations" read/modify permissions.
In the Operations OU, 1 user (let's call him John) cannot see all the files in this folder. For example, here is the real contents of the folder:
    File1
    File2
    File3
    File4
    File5
Everyone in the Operations OU sees all the files, except John. When John opens the folder, he sees:
    File2
    File4
    File5
Several files are simply missing from the list. I have no idea where to look for help on this one. The files are dynamically added to the folder each day, and each day are cleared out. So every day it is a new set of files being generated (they are coming
from a PDF printer). There is no pattern to which files John can see, and which he cannot. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem, and it was related to permissions. My PCs are now running Windows 8.1 and folder properties are set to display file name extensions of all files. The 2 invisible files are File1 and File3 in your example. I have copied them to
both PCs. Computer A can see them on its own drive, and on computer B via UNC. Computer B can see them on its own drive, but not
on computer A via UNC. The cause: computer B didn't have permissions on these 2 files on computer A. I was starting the UNC directly from File Explorer, and, in my case, this uses HomeUsers for permissions (over my home network). So, on computer A, I gave
permissions on these 2 files to the user HomeUsers and that fixed the problem. I will also create a more general solution using inherited permissions.
Specifically, I selected the file and chose properties/security/advanced/add/select a principal, then typed HomeUsers "Check Names", OK, and selected the desired permissions. This fits your situation: the files are being created automatically and
don't have the correct permissions for the other PC to see them. Inherited permissions should fix it.

  • On Win7 computer, how can I see all files on iPod touch?

I have an iPod touch 4.3.5 (8L1), model MC540C. When it's plugged into my Windows 7 computer, I want to be able to see all the files (not just the photos). What must i do to see all the files?
My ultimate purpose is to copy one file: the voice recording I created in the Voice Memos application. (The audio file is too big to be sent via email.)

    Illass,
    Thank you for your reply.
Though PhoneView is Mac only, Touch Copy has a Mac version and Windows version.

  • New firmware update doen't allow me to see all files in iPod library...

I have a 5G/ 60GB iPod, updated to the new firmware, and I have found that now there is no way to see a "Library" style depiction of all the files on my iPod, ala the iTunes "Library" category. I have podcasts that I manage manually which do not display as "Podcasts", and the easiest way to add and delete them (sometimes I duplicate them by mistake when adding from my other computer at work)was from the "Library" style view when the iPod device name was selected. Now those podcasts do not appear in the "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", or "Audiobooks" categories. I CAN view them by date in the "Recently Added" playlist, but duplicates cannot be deleted from this playlist. I there a "View all Files" sort of option I am unaware of, or any other solution (3rd Party) to access/ edit/ remove these files?

The checking and unchecking of songs is done in iTunes, not on the shuffle.  And that may affect what is loaded in the shuffle during automatic syncing.  So first check what is actually loaded on the shuffle.
If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, find your shuffle under DEVICES.  Click the small trianle to the left of the shuffle name to drop down its content list (indented below the shuffle).  Click on Music there.  The list of songs currently on the shuffle is shown to the right.  Are the songs that do not play on that list, or not on that list?

DOWNLOAD SAFARI AND RE-INSTALL to fix maps in IPhoto Places '09  8.1.2
I too lost my IPhoto Places maps on June 2nd.  Initially I used Best Buy's Geek Squad tech support.  The second tech was able to fix the problem.  He said there was a corrupt file in Safari, not IPhoto. However, I didn't know what he did to fix the problem.
A week later, the maps were gone again.  I tried to contact the same Geek Squad tech, but no luck.  I talked to several other techs, but they could not find a solution, even though I told them about Safari.  The last tech directed me to this web page.
It was here I learned about turning the WiFi off and on.  That restored the maps to the pictures, but not the Big map.
Today, at the Apple Store Genuis Bar, I was told they were unaware of this problem.  When I mentioned that Safari was where the problem was, he suggested I download Safari from the Apple Web page and re-install.
So far this is working!    So happy all of the maps after two plus weeks.
I hope this helps others too,
    Peggy

  • Can I set Finder to open all folders so I can see all files always

Is there a way to set Finder to open all files when I click on say "Documents" or "Music" or whichever? As it is set I have to click on every plus sign within a folder or folders themselves to see what is inside, and, for example, in Music, it means hundreds of folders where the individual songs reside.
    Thank you.
    Roxy

Actually, there is a way to do this on a folder by folder basis: for instance, if you have your home folder open and in list view, if you hold down the option key and click on the arrow in front of the Documents folder, it will open, and every single sub-folder and sub-sub-folder will also open. This produces a pretty unwieldy window, and I can never remember the key combo to get them to all close up again (I'm sure there is one.....), but it does work.
    Francine
PS--It seems simply clicking the arrow to close the Docs folder does sort it out so a normal click produces a non-opened state of the sub-folders.
