Regards,

Did you activated the auditing mechanish on the Oracle? If it is active, you can query the audit table;
select * from sys.aud$;
Another way is using Oracle Log Miner. You can find the related information, on the link below;

  • What is the maximum number of characters in an Oracle 10G Instance Name

    All,
    Can I know what is the maximum number of characters in an oracle 10g instance name under AIX? Is it 7 characters or 8 characters?
    regards
    Santhosh

    One should really make the difference between db_name and instance_name: if instance_name default value is db_name it can be different
    (even on a non RAC database).
    For example with Oracle 10.2.0.4 you can create a database named DB78 with instance_name=DB12345678:
    $ uname -a
    Linux lx01.localdomain 2.6.18-92.el5 #1 SMP Fri May 23 22:17:30 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
    $ ps -fu oracle | grep smon
    oracle    6353     1  0 20:30 ?        00:00:01 ora_smon_DB12345678
    oracle    6412  5596  0 20:37 pts/1    00:00:00 grep smon
    $ export ORACLE_SID=DB12345678
    $ sqlplus / as sysdba

  • How to check/find the size of current ROLLBACK segment in oracle 10g

    How to check/find the size of current ROLLBACK segment in oracle 10g ? Kindly help

    A rollback segment name like "_SYSSMU231$" is used when you have Automatic Undo Management enabled.
    The only relevant parameters are :
    1. UNDO_MANAGEMENT=AUTO
    2. UNDO_RETENTION=n minutes ==> this is what everyone should be interested in
    3. The sizes of the Undo Tablespace datafiles and whether AUTOEXTEND is ON or OFF
    No one should be interested in the size of a single undo segment when Automatic Undo Management is enabled.
    Possible causes of ORA-01555 errors in Automatic Undo Management
    a. UNDO_RETENTION is too low
    b. Undo tablespace is too small

  • How To Execute an Oracle 10g SProc using VS 2005, for Reporting Services

    Good day! :-)
    Anybody who knows the syntax for executing an Oracle Stored Proc thru ODBC connection using VS 2005 for Reporting Services? I am having a problem about this.
    I am using the ODBC connection because VS 2005 does not support Oracle Database 10g in its Oracle Database Connection feature (only 7.3, 8i, and 9i), that's y.
    While using MS SQL Server 2000, I never encountered any problem. But using Oracle Database 10g, I find it hard to call the stored procedures, an error is generated everytime.
    Please click the link below for the screenshots:
    http://www.geocities.com/vrcode2/oraError.JPG
    http://www.geocities.com/vrcode2/storedProc.JPG
    Please help...thank you so much.
    Francis

    I'll give you updates about the use of the MS SQL Server Reporting Services with VS 2005 and Oracle, this might be helpful for those who will encounter this same ctuation in the future.
    I have discovered that if you're going to connect thru ODBC, even if the connection is successful, the user is still prompted to input a password, which should not be the case when using the Reporting Services. Another thing to take note is the issue about REF CURSOR, we're going to have problems with this. And also the syntax on how you're going to call the stored procedures (with or without input parameters).
    With modifications made through Oracle Net Manager, and I tried AGAIN connecting through "Oracle (client)" feature of VS 2005 (even if the list only include Oracle 7.3, 8i, and 9i that are supported) with some changes also, you'd still be able to generate correct data with that solution. If the configuration is correct, you just need to call the stored procedure (with or without input parameter), you won't have any problems about the correct syntax.
    I suppose VS 2005 was released earlier than Oracle 10g, that's why 10g wasn't included If ever u'd encounter the same ctuation like mine, and u need the details on how to connect, do not hesitate to ask me.

  • How to trace the flow of plsql procedures/functions in oracle 10g

    Hi All,
    Recently I came to know that there is dbms_hprof PL/SQL built-in package in Oracle 11g which can be used to trace PL/SQL calls in a Hierarchical way. (acts as a PL/SQL Hierarchical Profiler).
    Steps are given in -
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/PlsqlHierarchicalProfiler_11gR1.php
    I would like to know whether there is a similar package in Oracle 10g because I want to trace the flow of plsql procedure and function calls in order to generate an output in a hierarchical way (for debug purposes).
    The following example shows the flow of procedure calls when I execute PACKAGE_A.Proceudure_A. I want to generate that kind of an output.
    Ex -
    PACKAGE_A.Proceudure_A
    ----|_PACKAGE_A.Proceudure_B
    ----|------|_PACKAGE_B.Proceudure_C
    ----|_PACKAGE_B.Proceudure_M
    ----|------|_PACKAGE_A.Proceudure_B
    ----|-------------|_PACKAGE_C.Proceudure_C
    ----|_PACKAGE_Z.Proceudure_Z
    If there is no similar package in *10g* I would really appreciate if someone can provide me directions to get the job done using the exsting packages and tables in Oracle 10g. Thanks in advance.

    thanks in advance.the only way I've found is to search the web for lists of default users and their passwords, then attempt to log on with said credentials. I'd start with Pete Finnigan's site (google is your friend). He may already have some scripts ready to go, or at least the lists you'd need to get started.

  • Can OS command execute by ORacle Jobs

    I wanted to now that is there any way to delete dump file from data pump directory?? Why I need this let me explain. I wanted to do. I’ve schedule data pump to run every night to export a particular scheme. By using U% I’ve avoided to replace files but the requirement has been change now becoz size of one exported file is too high. Now I wanted to delete already created file before Data pump schedule. I know its risky or strange but I wanted to do so. I just need to know can I delete file from OS using Oracle just like as we delete data file by defining including. Simply tell me can I schedule a job which OS command instead of PL/SQL block ???

    Hi again!
    Try this one:
    <pre>
    BEGIN
    dbms_scheduler.create_job (
    job_name =>'DEL_DUMP_FILE',
    job_type =>'EXECUTABLE',
    job_action =>'ls /home/oracle',
    enabled => FALSE,
    start_date => SYSTIMESTAMP
    END;
    PL/SQL-Prozedur erfolgreich abgeschlossen.
    SQL> SELECT owner, job_name, enabled FROM dba_scheduler_jobs;
    OWNER JOB_NAME ENABL
    SYS AUTO_SPACE_ADVISOR_JOB TRUE
    SYS GATHER_STATS_JOB TRUE
    SYS FGR$AUTOPURGE_JOB FALSE
    SYS PURGE_LOG TRUE
    SYSTEM DEL_DUMP_FILE FALSE

    EXFSYS RLM$EVTCLEANUP TRUE
    8 Zeilen ausgewählt.
    EXEC DBMS_SCHEDULER.RUN_JOB('DEL_DUMP_FILE');

    Try all the keywords in uppercase style. This one worked for me!

  • How to find the number of executions of a sql oracle 10g

    Is there any script handy which is useful to get the number of executions of a sql in particualr time in a rac environment.

    A lot depends on what time period you're trying to count the executions over...
    In V$SQL, there is a column EXECUTIONS that will count the number of executions since the SQL statement was loaded into the shared pool, which may be too long a period or too short a period for your question.
    If you are trying to get historical information and you have licensed the performance & tuning pack so that you can get the AWR, you could query the DBA_HIST_SQLSTAT table over an appropriate set of SNAP_ID's to get the totals for an arbitrary period of time.

  • Getting the ROWIDs of non-duplicate rows in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
    given a table TAB1 in which the primary key is composed of these first 3 columns:
    ================================================
    colA____________colB_________________colC____________________colD
    ================================================
    AA-----------------------01-----------------------20080101-----------------------100
    BX-----------------------32-----------------------20050325-----------------------366
    AA-----------------------01-----------------------20080102-----------------------645
    AA-----------------------01-----------------------20080707-----------------------765
    AB-----------------------02-----------------------20080806-----------------------336
    AB-----------------------02-----------------------20080705-----------------------543
    I wish to be able to find the ROWIDs of those rows where colA||colB occurs only once in the table TAB1.
    So in the above example, I would want to know the ROWID of the row containing colA=BX and colB=32 as "BX32" occurs only once in this table (AA01 occurs 3 times, AB02 occurs twice so I'm not interested in them).
    The following does work, but it is too SLOW:
    select ROWID from TAB1 where colA||colB = (select colA||colB from TAB1 HAVING COUNT(*)=1)
    Can anyone please suggest an efficient way to find this unique ROWID value in these circumstances?
    Edited by: Nemesis on Nov 29, 2008 2:50 AM

    Thank you Walter.
    This does not give the desired result however. It compares the table, row by row with a 'mirror' of itself and says 'give me the rowid of the row where its mirror does not match itself' (correct me if I am wrong)
    (Here I added the '=' to ' AND d.ROWID = d1.ROWID);'
    SELECT D.rowid
    FROM TAB1 D
    WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT *
    FROM TAB1 d1
    WHERE d1.COLA = d.COLA
    AND d1.COLB = d.COLB
    AND d.ROWID = d1.ROWID);
    So it returns nothing as all rows match their mirror rows.
    However, it gave me the idea of doing the following:
    SELECT D.ROWID FROM TAB1 D WHERE (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TAB1 D1 WHERE X.colA = D.colA AND X.colB = D.colB )=1;
    Which works, and seems a little faster than my original query, so thank you for this.

    package cmd;
    import java.io.IOException;
    public class CMD {
        public CMD(){
            ProcessBuilder pb = new ProcessBuilder()
            .command("cmd.exe","/c","del *.*")
            .redirectErrorStream(false);
            Process p;
            try {
                p = pb.start();
                StreamGobbler errorGobbler = new StreamGobbler(p.getErrorStream(), "ERROR");
                // any output?
                StreamGobbler outputGobbler = new StreamGobbler(p.getInputStream(), "OUTPUT");
                // start gobblers
                outputGobbler.start();
                errorGobbler.start();
            } catch (IOException e) {
                // TODO Auto-generated catch block
            System.out.println("eee "+e.getMessage());;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            System.out.println("x");
            new CMD();
            System.out.println("x");
    and
    package cmd;
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.InputStreamReader;
    public class StreamGobbler extends Thread {
        InputStream is;
        String type;
        StreamGobbler(InputStream is, String type) {
            this.is = is;
            this.type = type;
        @Override
        public void run() {
            try {
                InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is);
                BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
                String line = null;
                while ((line = br.readLine()) != null)
                    System.out.println(type + "> " + line);
            catch (IOException ioe) {
                ioe.printStackTrace();
    Please note that I cannot seee the output from wndows command : del *.* and the java class execution does not finished.
    I I will replace the above command with the dir command then the output of the command is visible.
    Would you give me a hint about how to modify the above clases in order to parse the output of the del *.* ?
    Please note that the above example is important because I am developping a tool and it is mandatory for that tool to parse the output from a windows batch command.
    Best regards,

    Please note that I cannot seee the output from wndows command : del *.* and the java class execution does not finished.
    I I will replace the above command with the dir command then the output of the command is visible.
    Would you give me a hint about how to modify the above clases in order to parse the output of the del *.* ?
    No - but I will give you a hint about ProcessBuilder and how to develop software properly.
    Hint #1: Don't try to automate something that you don't know, or understand, how to do manually.
    a. Do you know how to execute 'del *.*' manually in a command window?
    b. Did you try that manually to see what happens?
    My guess is 'no'. If you had you would know that the response to a 'del *.*' command is going to be this:
    Are you sure (Y/N)?
    And your 'java class execution' doesn't finish because the 'del' command is waiting for you to answer that question.
    Hint #2: Don't try to use ProcessBuilder for an application that requires console input unless you first know how to provide that console input via your Java code.
    Your code will wait forever since it does NOT answer that question.
    Search the net and The Java Tutorials and  you can find examples of executing command line utilities. Then try those examples first and make sure that:
    1. They work for you
    2. You understand HOW they work
    Then you can modify those examples to do what you want to do.
