Seeburger EDI Text to EDI XML conversion failure should throw an error

Hi,
I am expecting an error message to be thrown when EDI Text to EDI XML conversion fails at Message splitter of Seeburger module. I am getting the following error in the log.
"2012-01-19T01:46:08.032-0800 ERROR [Error:ID=2150;LEVEL=3] counter value (41) of incoming field (UNB.UNH.UNT:0074) doesnt match the calculated value (39).
DESCRIPTION: Either the counter value is not filled in the source file or the counter field value is wrong. "
But my expectation is that the channel should show some error in Adapter Engine monitoring itself. As shown below, it is just showing some warning that because of above error, it is not creating the attachment. Now I am expecting the the following warning to be an error rather than just warning. Please let me know if any idea on the same.

Thanks you all for your inputs..
I got the solution for the same.
I need to set the mapping program name specifically rather than AUTO for bic mappingName parameter. This has turned my communication channel status in RWB into Red for errors.

  • MS SQL server 2008 - Bulk copy from XML to DB table throws bcp_init error

I have MS SQL server 2008 installed ,
Windows version - Windows 7 Professional with SP1
Doing a bulk copy process using the SQL library function bcp_init function in c++ throws xml error and its not inserting the data into the tables.
    Error received ,
XML Datatransfer error: XML data or another error occurred while reading file 'd:\temp\scripts\dbtoolscripts\table_data.xml':
But this works in others machines with the same windows version and SQL version.

We are using the same SQL lib function bcp_init , we have written a separate class to load the ODBC32.dll , sqlncli.dll  and use the  bcp_init and other SQL functions from that. As i mentioned earlier we all use the same application build , but
its not working in my machine only other machines its working.
There is no provision to load XML files when you use the BCP interface in sqlncli.dll. You can of course load XML files, but the BCP API does not know that it is XML, it only sees a number of bytes.
So that error message is not coming from the BCP API, but somewhere else. Maybe your own code in reaction to some error from the BCP API. But without any clue of that error message, we can't help you.
I think you will need to do some debugging or by some other means improve your diagnostics.

  • Xml to EDI without  any  EDI adapter!

    Hi ,
can we do  <b>xml to EDI</b> without any EDI adapter like SEEBURGER or GENTRAN?
    and just with Conversion agent?
if so ,would it be a xml to file scenario?please explain little about the process.
    thank you,
    regards,
    Babu

    Amir,
I was trying to add some comments what I felt.
I mean, with Conversion Agent we cant send or recieve EDI documents. and we can use it for just to get the structure of the EDI document as XSD with Conversion Agent which we want to use in mapping. And once we have structure for the EDI document we can use a file adapter and can generate XML files.
And we do mapping only, if we don't have predelivered mapping( Seeburger provides some mappings for standard document sets).
I am sorry ,if I am still unclear.
    and to your comments above
    >>"you may also use conversion agent from Itemfiled,it much like seeburger and i guess now its owned by SAP itself"
Seeburger has lot of features than Conversion agent.
Conversion agent just can get xsd from EDI structure and EDI structure from xsd, correct?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the information.
But, I believe, the one mentioned in the Blogs is converting csv file into xml?
Is it ok if I configure my actual scenario for this flatfile conversion?
    3rd party -
    >   SAP XI  --->  File Directory
3rd party will send an EDI message (D96A_SLSRPT) to SAP XI.
SAP XI, then translate this EDI message into a customized format flatfile.
The output from XI is XML flatfile.
What happened is that when EDI message enters Seeburger, it splits the message depending on the number of UNH segments contained in the EDI.
That's why, if it enter XI, it will be mapped per message splitted.
The message will enter XI not as a one content message but a splitted message.
I think, Comm channel is ok, the problem is on the splitting of the message.
E.g. this is my EDI source message that will enter XI,
UNA:.? This EDI message will enter Seeburger, and will be splitter depending on the number of UNH segments.
then the splitted message will be translated into XML, then will be mapped on customized flatfile.
Output is one UNH segment (one tag XML) will be converted into .csv flatfile.
Thats why the output is many files because of the splitted message from Seeburger.
Could you advise on what will be the configurations to be done so as Seeburger will not split the message?
And the whole EDI message will enter XI as a whole?
Thank you very much for your time.

  • Which table stores the Sales Order--Header--Texts--EDI Text?

    Hi Experts,
I hv a requirenment regarding the Sales Order -> HEADER -> TEXTs -> EDI Text-Int, so, I need to hv some Orders(#). which does hv this text on them, for as test data.
So, I am looking which table stores, this text for my_sales_oders_12345678.
[ actually, i got some info from sdn, like,
Table TTXOB -> stores Texts: application object for Sales order header it is always VBBK i.e. field TDOBJECT = VBBK.
Now all the text types i.e. text ids are stored in table TTXID
So fetch all text ids(TDID) from this table based on TDOBJECT = VBBK. And its descriptions are stored in TTXIT table.
    but, no use this ]

    Hi Srinivas,
Generally to access the text we use READ_TEXT function Module.
we need to pass the four parameters
    ID
    LANGUAGE
    NAME
    OBJECT
You can find these parameters in the sales order it self.
    Goto ---> Header ---> Texts
Now double click on the text it takes you to the Text Editor. You can find the screen Display Form Header . In this goto Menu Path Goto ---> Header. You get a screen Text header. Here you can find the these parameters.
    Text Name
    Language
    Text ID
    Text Object
You need to pass these parameters to the function Module to text the text.
You can also fins the text in Table STXH

When you call DBMS_XMLQUERY.SETDATEFORMAT, you must supply the mask using the syntax defined by java.text.SimpleDateFormat.
    You need to use "yyyy-MM-dd".
In your case, "yyyy-mm-dd", the lower case "mm" is the mask for minutes.

To read the input stream you should have

  • Adapter Module to convert text message to XML

    Hello Experts,
I am writing a custom adapter module to convert the text  content to XML message at the sender adapter end.
I have followed the steps mentioned in the "HowToCreateModulesforJ2EEAdapterEngine" guide available on SDN.
I have created the java logic in the process mesthod of the bean to conver the text message to XML paylod (don't know if it is correct). I do not have much idea about the Adpater API methods.
Can anybody help me with the logic to convert the text msg to xml paylod using adapter frame work APIs or is there any way I can debug and test my logic in NWDS.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    - Rajan

    Hi ,
To convert Text message to XML why yiu want to go for Adapter Module?? Using file content conversion it self you can do it right?????
There is no standard logic to convert text file to XML, the logic purely depends on your text message format.

  • Conversion failure when using PDF Pack to convert a publisher file

Up until the last few months, I used acrobat 8 to convert my church's newsletter from Publisher to PDF for posting on our church website.  When we switched to Windows 8 in January my Acrobat 8 couldn't be installed.  We just registered for the PDF pack with the yearly subscription fee and I have tried twice to convert our most recent newsletter.  Both time the conversion failed with the second time sending the message that the file was too complex or too large to convert.
What do I need to do to make Acrobat XI as least as capable as Acrobat 8 in converting publisher files?

    Hi eec hampton,
Adobe PDF Pack and Acrobat XI are two different things. PDF Pack is an online service, whereas Acrobat XI is a much more current version of the Acrobat that you had on your computer until recently.
There is a file size limit to the files that you convert with PDF Pack (100MB), but even when a file falls below that file size, the complexity of the file (how much text and graphics, and so on) can cause conversion failure. (You could be dealing with bandwidth issues, for example, as the file is uploaded to the Internet for conversion.)
One option it to convert smaller portions of the newsletter. You can also download a free 30-day trial of Acrobat XI from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html, and convert your publisher document using that.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara
