Seems to be dead- fully charged and won't respond
So I've had my ipod for about two, three years now, and it's always worked fine. The battery was low, so I stuck it on my Ihome, and let it play while it recharged. I noticed it stopped playing- but just figuring it was one of those songs that has a few seconds of silence I ignored it for about a half an hour. Came back, still wasn't playing. I took it off the Ihome, it was warm on the bottom and had a slight burning smell to it- but was frozon on the song it stopped on. It won't do anything now, it won't come off that screen, no backlight comes on nor will it turn off. No noise either. I tried jiggiling the hold button, even kept pressing the buttons on the front- plugged it into the computer and nothing on my computer shows I have plugged anything in.
I heard of a few ipods bursting aflame on a charger before, is this something like that? Is it worth a trip across town to an ipod store, or is it really dead?
my ipod is doing the same thing!!! I don't know how to fix it someone needs to help us!!!

My 2 year old 13" MacbookPro suddenly turned off, presumably when the screen automatically dimmed (or went to sleep?) and now it won't turn back on. It was at 96% charge and now when I use the battery checker on the side, nothing shows up. No lights or anything. The charger doesn't seem to work either even after trying it on different outlets. This has never happened before but it has been harder to wake it from sleep in the last 6 months or so. I would have to push the On/Off button for a sec and the screen would turn back on. Also when I turn it on, the password screen is sometimes off-centered..weird.
I'm using Yosemite, the latest version..not sure what it is and can't check right now...I had to go use a PC to ask this question >_<Try a SMC reset:

RegardsI have exactly the same problem, which started again yesterday; coincidentally the day my warranty ran out!
The situation is complicated for me because I live in rural lincolnshire, but was in London all summer and had a new logic board replaced under warranty last month at the London- Stratford store.
It seems the £400 logic board replacement didn't fix it. When I try to get support, the website just laughs at me and holds out the cup for more money. I had a chat with somebody in the store this evening and I've got to take it into a store AGAIN!
Perusal of the 'Support' pages turns up literally thousands of people who have this or similar faults, all the way back to 2006, and I've not seen anything yet indicating that Apple have got a grip of it.
I've been using Apple kit for 16 years now and I've never had any trouble until now, but this bloody laptop, which is no better than my iMac now for portability has let me down badly several times in the last 6 weeks.
I'm really hacked off with this, get your **** together Apple! -
yesterday my iPod touch's home button would not work and to day it is completely turned off and wont turn back on and it is fully charged and when i connect it to itoons it dosent reckinise it
Given the information supplied, it sounds very similar to what happened to my wife's 4. Locked up...came back on with a blank (bluish) screen...could here emails and text coming through. It would get very hot as well. Our local apple store tried two times to rescue it, ultimately rendering it complete inoperable. I'm sorry to say in our case we had to buy a refurb and trade in the phone for $150, which actually wasn't a bad deal.
There could be other information I'm missing, but I would start with seeing if apple can restore your phone. If they can't, then I'm pretty sure it's dead. -
my iPhone is fully charged and just gives me a blank screen and will not turn off, what do I do?
Reset the phone like the manual says: hold the on/off switch and the home button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. May take up to 30 sec

When the battery gets fully charged, and the charger is still connected to the iPad, does the iPad use power from the battery or does it use the charger?
Install Battery Doctor and see Battery Status or Charging

My middle button seems stuck and won't respond. Help?
My middle button for the iPhone 3GS seems stuck or sticky and won't respond. Voice control keeps popping up because the iPhone thinks I am pushing the middle button to make it do the voice control. Any advice on what to do?
stoughie,
I'm sorry to hear that your phone is having data and power issues. That's never awesome! smashogre had a great tip, too. I hope it has worked for you. If not, I do recommend an alternative reset to return the phone to the factory settings. If after these steps, it still isn't functioning properly, please direct message me so I can assist you further.
Thank you,

My MacBook Air shuts down when its more than half way charged and won't turn on unless I plug it in to the adapter? Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
If you really do have a Mid 2013 Mac Air model then it is still in warranty, as the standard Apple warranty is one year from date of purchase. So take it into an Apple store and have it diagnosed and fixed under the warranty. There is some type of hardware problem that only Apple can fix.
