Select expert and dates

Hi, I am using Crystal 11. I connect to Oracle. My report pulls a date field which displays correctly and can be formatted. However, when I use the select expert and select "equal to", the drop down list does nor display the correct dates stored in this field. Any idea on how to solve this issue? thanks!

Some sample data might prove useful in understanding what exactly is happening. Barring that, have you tried clicking on 'Show Formula' in the select expert and then just typing in the date instead of choosing it from the drop down list?

Select list and date picker on one line - is this a bug?

I'm using: Application Express 3.2.0.00.27
Is the following a bug? If so, how do I get it reported so it will be fixed in a future release of APEX? If not, how do I do it so it ends up the way I want?
1. create blank page
2. create html region
3. create "select list" item (Begin On New Line - Yes, ...Field - Yes, ColSpan - 1, Row Span - 1)
4. create date picker item (Begin On New Line - No, ...Field - No, ColSpan - 1, Row Span - 1)
There will be other items displayed in more columns above what I just had you create above. I want the select list and the date picker to display next to each other on same line, so I placed date picker item on same line in same field as select list item.
HOWEVER... the date picker ends up displayed under the select list item (kind of), instead of next to it on the same line.
Here's what I get:

Here's what I want:

Discrepancy between Select Expert and SQL Query

Greetings. I am having an issue with a report, but I think it's more cosmetic and may not be causing a functional issue...
When I go into the Report...Select Expert...Record, I see that my criteria for the report is .AND. logic.
When I go into the SQL Query view, it shows .OR. logic...
After I verify the database, the SQL query still does not get updated. Saving and re-opening the report still does not update.
Is there any reason this will never match? Thanks in advance.

I didn't think the detail mattered much, but the select expert shows:

Now that I look at how the SQL is generated (after cleaning up the statement), it's the negatives that got me. I originally had a problem with the report that was pulling back blanks and spaces. I made changes and I didn't pay close enough attention to what exactly changed in the SQL... It appears to be the way the logic in the Select Expert is converted to SQL.
I just need to start using Command more often and write my own SQL instead of using the Select Expert!!!

SELECT-OPTIONS and data collection

Hi All,
I have one inputfield (say users) via SELECT-OPTIONS and it goes to an internal table called "userlist" with values USER1, USER2 etc...(Example)
Now, when I query the database with "userlist" as the input, I'm not able to do so because SELECT-OPTIONS contains an Internal table with values LOW, HIGH etc...
So my input value goes like this IEQUSER1, IEQUSER2 etc......
Could anyone tell me what should I do in order to get USER1, USER2 etc.

Sorry. I'm getting the error: 'Line structure of table USERLIST is incorrect'.
My coding is as follows:

Selective Deletion and Data Load from Setup Tables for LIS Extractor

Hi All,
We came across a situation where one of the delta in PSA was missed to load in DSO. This DSO updates another cube in the flow. Since it has been many days since this miss come in our knowledge we need to selectively delete data for those documents from DSO & Cube and then take a full load for the Documents filling the setup table.
Now what will be the right approach to load this data from setup table > DSO > cube. There is change log present for those documents and a few KPI's in DSO are in summation mode.

This is Sales Order extractor, the data got loaded to ODS just fine, but since the data is coming to ODS from different extractor. Everything is fine in ODS, but not in the cube. Will Full repair request and Full load would it make difference when the data is going to cube? I thought that it would matter only if I am loading to ODS.
what do you mean "Even if you do a full load without any selections you should do a full repair ".

Pls help : How To select fields and data from user_table for each tablename

Please help with the query to generate a output which selects the code,meaning,inuse for each table in the user_table that has "CODED" as a part of table name.
User table has some 800 table that contains CODED in the tablename.
Desc of the table:
DESCPTION:

Not 100% sure what you want. If you want to see all the tables that have all three of those columns, then you could do something like:
SELECT table_name, 'CODE', 'MEANING', 'IN_USE'

CRViewer XI R2 Select Expert error when using dates

I am using RDC. CR XI R2 w/ SP2/3. When I open any report with dates in the output and then use Select Expert and choose a date from the browse or dropdown list I get an error.
"Error - the ) is missing"

Hello Brent,
I'm sorry the RDC viewer and the Select Expert do not meet your expectations. The RDC was deprecated with the release of Crystal Reports 10. Once the RDC was deprecated it stopped receiving development focus for issues like this. The RDC remained available for two more versions (XI / XI R2) but it has now been retired with the release of CR 2008 a few months ago.
I'm surprised to hear that the Select Expert wasn't showing this issue in CR XI (v11.0), unfortunately I won't be able confirm this.
If you want to roll back to the viewer for CR XI (v11.0) you have to roll back entirely to work with CR XI (v11.0). You should not mix versions of DLLs (e.g crviewer.dll v11.0 and craxdrt.dll v11.5). This may work, but it would not be supported for any issues you might encounter. You indicated in your post that you moved to CR XI R2 (v11.5) to get past another issue that was resolved in CR XI R2, so rolling back entirely won't be a solution.
With the retirement of the RDC the recommended upgrade path for Windows application development is to move to the Crystal Reports .NET SDK. The Crystal Reports .NET SDK is available in CR XI R2 so if you want to explore this SDK as well you can visit the online developer library for additional information. Here's the link:

Date based Resultset and Date display

I have two jsp pages. In first page user selects a Date and name, based on that 2nd jsp display a resultset in a table. I want to Display Selected name and Date on 2nd Page. I done it for name and unable to show the Date and query is also to be modified.

Select Expert on Formula Fields

Select expert question

Hi,
I just changed an existing report to have a filter on one of my groups. I used the select expert and filtered using the "is not equal to" criteria. Everything works as it should when I view the report in crystal, my filtered objects do not show up. When I then open that same report in Cabinet vision (the program we use the reports inside) the filter does not work. I know that this could be a problem with the cabinet program, but I figured I would check into there being anything I may have missed when using the select expert.

We use a .RIM file to get these reports working in cabinet vision, my problem was with the setup of this file. More specifically I should have had the value for GSF_ForRecordSelection set to false, mine was -1.

How can I save to iCloud after turning OFF "Documents and Data"?

I seldom store documents on iCloud, and I was tired of having iCloud be the default save location for my Numbers documents, so I went into iCloud Preferences and de-selected "Documents and Data". That worked. Now iCloud is no longer the default save location.
But if I wanted to save the occasional spreadsheet on iCloud, how do I get it there without turning "Documents and Data" back on? I thought there was a way to select iCloud as an optional save location, but can't figure out how to do it.

I think the easiest way to get around this problem is to keep a blank document in your Documents folder , the duplicate and save as needed. The default loacation in this case is where the document is currently stored.

Select Expert Record. Last 6 months and week start date on Monday

Hello,
i am trying to use the select expert record to grab the last 6 months worth of data. I require the week start day to be a monday and end on a sunday.
Can someone please provide some advice the best way to do this

Yes this is correct, when it goes back 6 months i need it to skip the days prior and begin on a monday as we are reporting on a mon-sunday basis.
I have tried your formula Date field >= dateadd('m',-6,currentdate) and it seems to grab 6 months of data, but the group weeks are not grouping from Monday to Sunday...

Select Expert data field

I am using Crystal 8.5. I'm running a query to find database entry errors in a particular field, i.e. "country", [such as 'britin'] and then correcting the database record.
Even though the data has been removed from the database, the value listed in the drop down within crystal reports is retained and not reflecting the actual values of the field in the database. Any suggestions?

Ok,
    Sorry, when I heard "drop down" I immediately saw "parameter" so "Action" is the wrong direction for you.
    You don't need the "Select Expert" to see a field. You can just drag the field on to the report.
    If you know all the valid country names, you can do this:
    Make a formula: @GoodCountry - If UpperCase(table.emp_ad_country) IN ("USA","ENGLAND" etc) Then "" Else table.emp_ad_country
That way you'll get a complete list of all the countries that are not 'IN' the list (of properly spelled countries). After the changes,
you should see the new values when you run (F5) the report again.
If it doesn't show the changes, you need to check that the database.table.field you are looking at is the same one you are changing.
Sounds basic, but it's certainly happened (many times) before

'select expert' option is not filtering data in CR, in VS2012

We have a VB VS2005 crystal report application , is working good with ' select expert ' option for filtering data in side crystal report. When we are migrated the application to VS2012, the application is not filtering the data inside crystal report. I could see the 'select expert ' options and Formula editor code in VB 2012 exactly same as VB 2005. But, there is no data filtering in Crystal Report. Please help. We are using Crystal report developer version for VS2012. My formula editor code inside CR 'select expert' is {REPORT.CODE} in ["3102", "4010"]

Passing DateArray or Date Range from formula result to Select Expert

Is there a way to pass Two (2) dates from a single formula to the Select Expert?
I calculate Beginning and Ending dates of periods ie: fiscal year to date, calendar year to date, last calendar quarter. I would like to pass both the beginning and end date to a formula in the Select Expert.
Please show code samples if possible.

In your selection criteria, have code similar to this:
datevar begindate; // this is from your formula for date range
datevar enddate; // this is from your formula for date range
{database.datefield} in begindate to enddate;
