Select front end printed

Hi experts
i wolud execute without dialog a sapscript.
So when i call the FM 'OPEN_FORM', with parameter i pass:
itcpo-tddest = 'LOC4'.
itcpo-tdimmed = 'X'.
itcpo-rqposname = name of front-end printer.
CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
    EXPORTING
      device   = 'PRINTER'
      dialog   = 'X'
      form     = 'ZBOX_LABEL'
      language = 'I'
      OPTIONS = itcpo
    IMPORTING
      RESULT   = itcpp

Also with the name of front end printer, the sistem in dialog box, set the default windows printer.
Anybody can tell me how i can set the value rqposname?

Hi,
If you want a particular windows printter, you need to define it in the definition of the output device via transaction SPAD in the field Host Printer. So in output device LOC4, set name of front-end printer in field 'Host Printer'.

Front end printing with control technology problem with Mac platforms

Hello,
We are looking into replacing Host Spool Access method "F: Printing on front end computer" with the newer "front end printing with control technology" but are running into an issue. Our Mac platforms cannot print duplex nor print multiple pages per side using the new technology. We have followed SAP's recommendation to use the POST2 device type but it still won't allow full printing functionality. Has anyone run into this and if so how did you overcome it?

In the Mac SAPgui, go to the Preferences window and select Printing (i.e. Preferences -> Desktop -> Printing).
In the "Media sides" pull-down menu, select one of the "two-sided" choices (such as "two-sided-long-edge").
Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the window (near the right hand side.
Print to a Front end printer.
I haven't figured out how to get n-up printing.

Front-end printing with control technology

Can anyone elaborate on the new "Front-end printing with control technology" that was released with FEP 15, OSS Note # 821519? Is this something I should be pushing Basis to implement?

Hi All,
In frontend printing in windows environment. Can we use exact device type(for EX:HP LaserJet 4300 dtns) instead of swin device type. The reason being we are not able to correctly print a invoice(logo not getting printed properly)

Use the device type Swin itself. Its because the driver is actually picked up from your local machine while printing.

Please check if the correct driver for the printer is used on your local machine. This issue with logo is common with front end printing when you do not use the exact driver for the printer model on local machine.

Front - end print with new access method G - having issues for some users

Hi Gurus,
Recently we have implemented the new access method G for front-end printing. it is working fine for 90% users in our company. but some users having problems in printing to WINDEFAULT using this new method.

Usually this means, that some necessary controls are not properly registered in the registry and hence can't be found. You may solve that by removing the SAPGUI from the PC completely, booting the machine and reinstall the GUI.

also here the function mentioned are not remote enabled... do we need to make it remote enabled..????

Front end printing from list report

Hi,
I want to print my list output report without creating spool.My requirement is to have print button on the output list and when user click on it it will open windows popup to print it instead of sap ones which create spool.

You must configure the printer to use method (type G) for Windows Printing instead of LOCL (Type F).
Also you must set the following Reg Key for the users on the Citrix server for this to work.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAPlpd\SAPLPD
Type: String
Name: SwinDataType
Value: EMF

Can't printing in front-end when implement LOCL access method 'G'

We are implementing ECC5.0 and print Purchase Order in normal status.But in recent,user print PO by long printer name with some trouble.So we check the notes,and it recommand us to implement access method 'G'.It seems every thing is OK on front-end printing.Still not work for printing PO on front-end output immediate.If we choose short printer name and access method 'F',it work fine.But SAP will no longer develop method 'F'.Please advise it.

SAP PO is using background printing. SAP frontend print doesn't support background printing.
As per SAP Frontend document, You cannot perform front-end printing in the background, as there is not connection to the front end.
For this, you need to configure network printer.

Problem with Front-End Editor (New)

Dear SAP gurus
I tried from transaction se38, selecting options Utilities -> Settings and then selecting Front-End Editor (New) from Abap Editor tab.
When I had old editor setting, I had buttons to do tasks like 'load local file' , 'save as local file' etc.,
But when I changed over to new editor setting, this whole row of buttons are missing.
Can some one please let me know how to get it back but sill use the New Editor.
Your help will be highly appreciated.

Moved elsewhere. "Undo" and others are now just a right-click away, upload/download is somewhere in the "utilities" menu, besides you can just copy/paste from any text file right into the editor.
Just have a look around.

F4 for selecting folder from front end

Hi,
The function module KD_GET_FILENAME_ON_F4 can be used for selecting a file from the front end.
Similar way, I need to select a folder name (not specific file in it) through F4 help on to a parameter entry on the selection screen.
Anyone can help me with the relevant fn module or method.

HI.
Using ABAP Objects suits better to ur requirement.
The class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES should be used. In that a default method is there which shall give u list of directories.

ESS - Creating a Front End Selection Screen, that accesses SAP T-code

Hi,
We have an ESS Portal in our company.
I have been given the following request:
For a specific transaction, create a selection screen in the portal that would be a modified version of the selection screen that exists in the SAP system.
From this front-end in the selection screen, the specific transaction within the SAP system would be accessed.
How is this done? What do I need to know about the overall process?

Just to clarify,
Create the transaction and selection screen in the SAP system.
Then ask the Portal team to create an iView for this transaction.
What if I need to say get the Internal SAP employee number from the user's sign on information?

Printing front end documents

Hi CRM Experts,
Is it possible to print a front end document in CRM.
I need a follow up document to be printed from the action profile of a Business transaction.
The action profile initially prints a smart form output. A document which is relavant to this output resides in the front end. This has to be picked up and printed.

I was able to find a solution.
following is the code for the same.
data : cl_frontend type ref to cl_gui_frontend_services,
       lv_filename type string.
      create object cl_frontend.
    concatenate 'I:\' '801222.pdf' into lv_filename.
      call method cl_frontend->execute
      exporting
        document          = '801222.pdf'
        default_directory = lv_filename
        operation         = 'PRINT'.

Which file on the DVD should I select to install front end gui

Hello Basis gurus
I am trying to install the Front End Gui on my laptop (SAP GUI for Windows 7.20).
The older versions had a file called SETUP.EXE which I used to select to install the Front End Gui.
However, on this CD I don't see that file.
I read the Installation Guide which gives 2 scenarios.
1. Creating an installation server and then use that to install on different systems on the network.
2. Taking the CD to each windows client and install it directly from the CD.
However, the installation guide explains the scenario 1, installing using installation server.
There is no explanation of how to do the installations directly from CD. Since I don't see the setup.exe file, I don't know what else to do. Has anyone done this? If so could you please let me know. I would appreciate it.

If you are talking about the NW 7.0 Presentation DVD/CD for the SAP GUI 7.20 installer, once extracted, I believe the setup you are looking for is located here:
Under NW_7.0_Presentation\PRES1\GUI\WINDOWS\WIN32
From that location you should see the setup executeables.
SapBiSetup.exe
SapGuiSetup.exe
SetupAll.exe
If you run the SapGuiSetup.exe, that should install 7.20 for you.
If you run the SetupAll.exe, that will present you with options you want to have installed along witht he SAP GUI. (Business Explorer, Engineering Client Viewer, etc.Planning Grid, KW Add-On, etc)

out EVERY SINGLE FILE that's referenced on a
timeline? (I have lots of stuff imported into the
project that I know isn't used on any timeline, but
I'm afraid of moving or deleting things for fear of
never finding it again.)
I'd love to get some sort of "printout" (a list or
something) of every single file.
There is, go to browser and cntrl click on any one of the columns,
and select - show/source. A new column named "source" will pop up and will show where everything "lives". Click on the header at the top and it will justify the column as well. You'll notice this won't show anything for your seq.'s. of course, but will show stills/audio/motion files...
Once you have the new column, you can drag it next to the "name" column and get a grab of it and print it if you like, or whatever.
If you want to do this for just 1 seq., then can create a new bin and double click it to open it. Cntrl-A (select all) in your main seq. and just drag all into the new bin. You will see only what's in that seq. with the "source" column right next to it.
From what I've read, you seem to get the MM thing and it's obviously what you'll need to do to archive as the guys said. But what your missing is a file path system to where everything resides.

To avoid writing database code in the front end

Hello,
I am working on a database application using 10g database as backend and dotnet as front end. I wish to execute only oracle stored procedure for all the select (to avoid hard parse and use of bind variable), DDL and DML operations; just to avoid writing database code in the front end. Can anyone please give me a little examples of :
1.Select query's output to be return as resultset by stored procedure.
2.DML example by stored procedure.
3.Any DDL example by stored procedure.
using scott.emp, so that i would just call the stored procedure, rather than giving select,DML and/or DDL commands in the front end. Even though i have read in the documentation, but a clear cut examples will help me to get into clear concept as well.
