Select Grant on local Table to the Remote Oracle User

How Can we Give a SELECT Grant on a Specific Table to the Remote Oracle User.

IIRC, the remote user accesses local objects via a schema on the local database. That suggests you need to grant SELECT on the local table to the local schema that the remote user connects by.

Welcome to the new Oracle User Group Community. Whether you landed here via the redirect from the previous community site - IOUC.org - or navigated here directly, welcome. This new platform brings new community features to enhance the way you connect with user group peers and with Oracle, as well as make it easier for you to find information through a more intuitive interface. We invite you to provide your feedback on the new site. Log in using your OTN Forum credentials and join the discussion here. If you do not yet have OTN Forum log in credentials, navigate to http://community.oracle.com/community, click on the "Register" link in the upper right corner of the page and create your account.
We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Kashif,
Glad you like the new Community. Communication among user group leaders works a little differently on this site than on the previous site. Rather than having communication focus around e-mail distribution lists, communication now is focused within the site itself. The intent is that this will provide users the one place to come for information, rather than having to sort through lots of e-mail threads. That doesn't mean that e-mail is completely out of the picture though. Users can opt-in to receive e-mail notifications when an individual piece of content is changed, or when content is posted to a space. Look for the "Receive email notifications" link under "Actions" to start receiving notices. To stop receiving notices, go back to the same content/space and click "Stop email notifications".
Your Relationship Manager will be talking with you and the other leaders in your region over the next few days and weeks regarding how you and your group of leaders want to communicate.
    Best regards,

  • Trying to create a local instance of the remote object

    Hi,
I have a ClassA on which I need to be able to invoke RMI calls. Problem is the interface which ClassA implements does not throw exceptions. To get around this problem I have created a wrapper class ClassWrap which has a ClassA attribute and calls made to ClassWrap are directed to this ClassA object. A facade type design I think it's called.
ClassWrap implements Remote so it can be used as a Remote object.
When I create an instance of ClassWrap and deploy it on a server, my client has no problem communicating with the remote ClassWrap object via a remote stub ClassWrap_Stub.
Problem is I also want my client to be able to use a local instance of ClassWrap. Whan I try to create an instance of ClassWrap in my client I get a remote Exception ... but !! when I have a ClassWrap_Stub object in my classpath then there is no problem creating a ClassWrap object.
    Any ideas why this happens?

What you are trying to do should work just fine. Do you have the wrapper class file in your client jar?

  • How to populate the selected row details of table in the next view?

    hi,
Im having a table, on selecting a particular row of a table by clicking on a radio button. i need that row details to be passed on(populated) to the next view when i navigate to that view by clicking on a button?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
Your scenario is simple. Just follow the ex as shown below
(Assuming you want default selection view provided by table itself.)
    1>Create 2 views (Ex:A and B)
2>Create a Context with a node and attributes(For Ex:Person as node and Fname and Last Name as attributes
2>In A view create a table with F name and L Name(map to context as well) and a action button to navigate to B view when you selected a particualr row o.k
3>In B view, create a TextView with mapping to LastName(or all the data if you want from input selection) from the context
If you want you can add back action button from B view to A view for easy navigation.
4>Execute the application and select any row in the table appeared, press next action button, you can see that the selected row details will be shown in second(B) view.
If you do the above example, I think you can easily find the solution for navigation issue.. try it out.
In case if you are not able to ...let me know..I have that example.
    Hope that helps
    Regards

  • How to synchronize a local file with the remote copy.

I have a local file (file.txt) inside the directory of my java application and also a copy in a remote machine. Every time I start the application I want to check if the remote copy has been updated and if yes, synchronize the local copy. If you have done this before, please let me know. Thank you very much!

you could make a URL connection to that file, check it's lastModified date, and download if you need to update

  • How to select from multiple output tables in the SAP Data Source

    Hi,
We're using the SAP Data Source to display SAP data in our portal from the Bapi: BAPI_INFORECORD_GETLIST. When defining the Bapi Meta Data we can select data from one of the two output tables (INFORECORD_GENERAL and INFORECORD_PURCHORG). But we want to select data from both tables (some columns we want to show are in INFORECORD_GENERAL and some are in INFORECORD_PURCHORG) .
How can we do this ?
    With regards,
    Ramon van der Weiden

You can query multiple TimesTen databases, but your original question was about joining tables from two databases, which is not supported.
Using Cache Connect to Oracle to query an Oracle database is not distributed. It's still one single Oracle database you are querying. You cannot join a table in the TimesTen database with a table in the Oracle database, this is not allowed.
If you are willing to share your business requiremens, we can take a look and see what solution might work for you. Would you like to discuss this offline?

  • Select statement of severals tables with the same structure

Does anybody know - how to create a single select statement to count entries of several tables. These tables have the same structure and are connected by a foreign key to a - I would call master table. So in this master table - I have the names of all these others tables and what I want should look like this:
    name__________ # entries
    table_1_________100
    table_2_________150
    table_3__________80
    Select table_name, count(table1.column1), count(table2.column1), count(table3.column1) from master, table1, table2, table3 Where master.id=table1.id OR master.id=table2.id OR master.id=table3.id Group By table_name
    Thanks in advance
    remo

If I understood your question correctly, this is what you (probably) need:
    Select table_name, (select count(column1) from table1 Where master.id=table1.id), (select count(column1) from table2 Where master.id=table2.id), (select count(column1) from table3 Where master.id=table3.id)
    from master

  • Convert a local interface to the remote interface

    Hello *
Is it possible to convert a local interface to the same bean's remote interface?
    Regards,
    Lukas

    Thanks for the reply.
I have simpliefied the lookup to the following:
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    spiHome = (ServiceProviderBeanLocalHome) ctx.lookup ("ServiceProviderBeanEJB");
I still get the following exception:
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ServiceProviderBeanEJB not found
    at com.sun.enterprise.naming.TransientContext.doLookup(TransientContext.java:174)
I looked up the deployment descriptor from J2EE RI and took the name
    to lookup from the ejb-name:
    <ejb-jar>
    <display-name>localSPIJAR</display-name>
    <enterprise-beans>
         <entity>
              <display-name>ServiceProviderBeanEJB</display-name>
              <ejb-name>ServiceProviderBeanEJB</ejb-name>
I presume that this is the correct name to use.

  • How to find the forgotten oracle user password?

    Hi,
I forgot my oracle user password. Is there any possibility to find the password without resetting through system user.

Going by Oracle books, its not possible, but there are ways of knowing the users password, which in other words is known as Bruteforcing.

  • Select statement having internal table in the wher clause...

    Hi,
will all the entry from the internal i_crhd will be pased to the next select statement in the sample code below without looping? Thanks  a lot!
    REFRESH i_crhd.
       SELECT objid vgwts
FROM crhd INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE i_crhd
         WHERE arbpl IN s_arbpl.
pulling the cost centre linked to the resource
IF sy-subrc EQ 0 AND i_crhd[] IS NOT INITIAL.
         REFRESH i_crco.
         SELECT kostl FROM crco
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE i_crco
           FOR ALL ENTRIES IN i_crhd
           WHERE objid = i_crhd-objid.
         IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
          do nothing.
         ENDIF.
       ENDIF.

    Hi,
The code looks fine..u can very well go ahead with the code...
Wht all other ABAPers said about FOR ALL ENTRIES is absolutely rite.
But i have a small suggestion...
Why cant u use a INNNER JOIN for those 2 queries...
    like...
    SELECT cr~objid
                 cr~vgwts
                 co~kostl
FROM crhd AS cr INNER JOIN
              crco AS co
    ON  crobjid = coobjid
    INTO TABLE i_crco
    WHERE cr~arbpl IN s_arbpl.
Now in i_crco 3 fields will be thr
objid, vgwts, kostl.....this one can change as u wish...
Why i suggest not to ue FOR ALL ENTRIES is sometimes it is a performanc killer....in this code i feel this will do fine...
Please let me know if u feel not ok with this code...
    Reward if found useful...

  • How can I preserve the modify date of the files I transfer from my local computer to the remote webserver?

How can I make sure the the modify date of files are not updated to the date the file was uploaded or downloaded.
There are multiple people working on my sites and I am the only one that uses Dreamweaver.  The problem this presents is when  one of my colleagues works on an image and I want to update my local computer it changes the date of the image to the date that I downloaded it and now when I compare what I have on my local computer to what is on the server they are different modify dates.

Dont think you can find out the date of purchase!
Where should know this without a payment bills or sales checks.
What you can do is to find out when the notebook was registered on the Toshiba page.

  • See the grants on a table

    Hi,
how to see who has select grant on a table ?
    thank you.

Note that you may also need to query ROLE_TAB_PRIVS to see what roles have SELECT access. And USER_ROLE_PRIVS to see the users that have been granted those roles. And ROLE_ROLE_PRIVS to see what roles have been granted those roles (and then follow the chain however many levels it goes to see what users eventually get the privileges).
This is also ignoring users that may have privileges like SELECT ANY TABLE granted to them (or to a role they've been granted).

  • How can I delete messages from the local Sent folder without deleting from the remote server?

I am running out of disk space on my local machine. Analysing this, I can see that a large amount of space is being taken up by local storage of Sent emails from my IMAP synchronised account.
I do not see how I can delete the local copies from my PC without them being deleted from the Server as well. There is an account setting option under Synchronisation and Storage to delete messages, but it says they will be deleted from both the local machine and the remote server.
I need to keep the server versions as these are business accounts and it is important I have all my old messages stored somewhere.

Short answer: get a bigger hard disk.
You could disable synchronization and free up the space on your local disk without loosing the messages. However, this would eliminate the possibility to create backups of your messages.<br>
Since you mentioned this is important business mail, you shouldn't take chances.

  • How can I notify staff of updated data if they do not have access to the remote data?

We have a shortcoming on one of our major programs that will not be fixed for at least one year. I want to create a notice for staff when there are pending requests for local offices. I am using a remote view to check if there are new requests from
    local offices:
    SELECT xxx_yyyyy_request_queue.COMMENTS;
    FROM xxx_yyyyy_REQUEST_QUEUE xxx_yyyyy_request_queue;
    WHERE xxx_yyyyy_request_queue.MODIFIED_BY IS NULL
I use the remote view as the data source for a table and have a small window that stays on top that I can see if there is an order. I trigger the remote view using a timer event.
This is fine as a stop-gap. However, I cannot run this on the machines of the staff that need the notice: they do not have the correct version of Oracle, they do not have access to that remote data, we do not want multiple machines triggering the same query
    every 15 seconds, etc.
Is there a way that I can notify other users of the change in the data fro the remote view. My original thought was to update a local table with the view reults and have a companion routine notify them of changes to that table. However, I do not see how
the SQL used by VFP accomodates the "INTO" clause.
    Your help is appreciated.

    data.
At least your query seems to get data where MODIFIED_BY IS NULL, doesn't it?
So if the reccount is>0 there is a reason to inform your employees.
