Select-options in WDJ user interface

Hi Experts,
I would like to know why select-options found in SAP GUI screens is not available in WDJ. WDA however has provided this. Is there a possibility that this might be added sometime soon? Or may I please know the reason for omission.

no, what I mean is the select-options user interface component. Where in you can specify a range. For example: I can enter a range of employee numbers to be selected for a particular report. In that same control, I can omit some of the employees that I dont want. You can also check the following link for the select-options feature in WDA.

Hi all,
I'm looking for an alternative way of letting the user select language on portal pages. Instead of including the language selection portlet on all the pages, I wonder if I can implement language selection as links in the User Interface Template used by all the pages.
Has anyone done this?

Where are your images being used in the UI template stored? I like to place my images in directory:
<portalMidTier>/apache/apache/htdocs/img
Then from within the UI template I can relatively reference the images as /img/logo.gif

How to hide the select-options fields on radiobutton select in webdynpro

Could you please help how to hide the select-option fields in webdynpro
there are four radio buttons
for every radiobutton there is corresponding the select_option filed is associated to it
user as only provision select one radio button and reset of the select-option fileds should be hidden
which ever the radio button is selected corresponding the select-options fileld should be displayed

To hide select options you should use interface method REMOVE_SELECTION_SCREEN_ITEM of IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.
Sample code :
Write the below code in the Event handler of Radio Button.
DATA lv_r_helper_class TYPE REF TO if_wd_select_options.
lv_r_helper_class = lo_interfacecontroller->init_selection_screen(
lv_r_helper_Class->REMOVE_SELECTION_SCREEN_ITEM(exporting i_id = 'Select_option1_id1').
This will hide first select option of your screen.Similarly pass select_option_id2 to hide it and so on.

Master Detail Wizard and User Interface Defaults

Trying to create a master/detail form (on one page, no report).
1. Wizard is giving the option to use User Interface Defaults for the master table, but not for the detail (I don't want to for either) - is this the expected behaviour? If so, why the inconsistency? Will/can this be changed in the future?
2. Despite selecting NOT to use UI defaults, and entering new region titles, wizard is creating default region titles using the UI defaults. Is this a bug?
3. Supplementary: Is it possible to get rid of UI defaults?

Report help for multiple Date Select options

Hi Friends,
For a particular year wise report, the client wants 12 date select-options which are changeable and informal every year .The report will also be displayed as per the given date selection period wise. Please help me how to fetch the datas from the table as per the given selection period. Currently the report have one date select-option where the user gives selection range as 1.04 to 31.03. It's related to EB power consumption report and hence the new requirement on date selection which are informal and not a fixed date of every year.
Ex:Selection-Screen
Period 1 : 08.04.2008 to 12.05.2008
Period 2: 12.05.2008 to 20.06.2008
Period 3: 21.06.2008 to 28.07.2008
Period 4: 29.07.2008 to 15.08.2008
Period 5: 15.08.2008 to 21.09.2008
Period 6 : 21.09.2008 to 14.10.2008
The data will derive as per the above selection ranges.......
Please advise with example.

In this case just derive all records matching dates between 08.04.2008 (low in first select-options) and 14.10.2008(high in last select-options.
Also my advice is to use a single select-options and prompt the user to give the dates as ranges in the multiple entries dialog which can be opened by clicking the button on the right side of the select-options.

Clearing the displayed value for a SELECT-OPTION

How do I clear the displayed value of a SELECT-OPTION?
I have 2 SELECT-OPTIONs on my screen (standard basic report program screen). I use code like this to populate the drop-down boxes for each one.
=====
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_prgrp-low.
PERFORM fill_prgrp_values.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_prctr-low.
PERFORM fill_prctr_values.

The value the user picks for the first SELECT-OPTION will affect what values I put in the drop-down list for the second SELECT-OPTION.
If a user enters a value for the second SELECT-OPTION, and then goes back and changes the value of the first SELECT-OPTION, then I want to do two things:
1. Create a new set of values for the drop-down list for the second SELECT-OPTION (no problem; working fine);
2. Clear the displayed value from the second SELECT-OPTION that the user entered previously. That value became invalid when the user picked a new value for the first SELECT-OPTION.
How do I clear that second displayed value?
I have tried CLEAR and REFRESH for the second variable using the formats s_prctr, s_prctr[], and s_prctr-low. They will erase the values of the internal table or part(s) of it, but the displayed value stays on the screen.
I need to clear out the displayed value so the user will either leave it blank or enter or select a new value.
I am using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to build the drop-down lists, and it works fine, but I do not see any function module to clear the displayed value off the screen.

Sorry, but calling DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE did not work. This is how I coded it.
fld_reset_rcd-fieldname = 'S_PRCTR'.
fld_reset_rcd-stepl = sy-stepl.
CLEAR fld_reset_rcd-fieldvalue. " re-initialize s_prctr
CLEAR fld_reset_rcd-fieldinp. " what goes in here?
APPEND fld_reset_rcd TO fld_reset_tbl.
CALL FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'
 EXPORTING
 dyname = 'ZFI_GL_BALANCE_NGL'
 dynumb = '1000'

I have discovered that CLEAR and REFRESH of s_prctr will clear it somewhat. If I enter multiple values, ranges, etc., they will all be cleared, EXCEPT for the one single value that is displayed on the main screen. It is not cleared and it remains if you push the button to display the pop-up to enter ranges, etc.
To devrath.sampat -- Thanks for your example for building the drop-down list, but that is not the problem I am having. I am already able to build it just fine.
To repeat my problem, if I:
1. first enter / select a value for the first SELECT-OPTION s_prgrp
2. then enter / select a value for the second SELECT-OPTION s_prctr
3. And finally go back and select a new value of the first SELECT-OPTION s_prgrp from its drop-down list,
 when I do, the program needs to clear the value displayed on the main screen for the second SELECT-OPTION s_prctr (any additional values, ranges, etc., are cleared by CLEAR and REFRESH, if I go look; but not the value shown on the main screen).

Selection-Screen - F4 (Select-options)

my requirement is
In Ztable Company code(s) and related Portfolio(s) are maintained.
In my program i have 2 select-options
1.Company code (s_bukrs)
2.Portfolios (s_pfolio)
( as told above these two are maintained in a Ztable, ok )
now,
a)if we press F4 on Company code it has to show all company codes from Ztable-company code, i have done this (a)... by using CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'.
b)if we press F4 on Portfolios by entering company code in the select-option,it has to show d portfolios from Ztable-portfolios related to that company code(s) only, if no company code(s) entered in the selcet-option and if we press F4 in portfolio it has to show d all portfolios from Ztable-portfolios
i am not able to achive (b), pls help me,
pls donot post the code for PARAMETERS, post code only for SELECT-OPTIONS
say user will enter 10 company codes comp1,comp2,..comp10 in s_bukrs.
now if we press F4 on s_pfolio, it has to show the portfolio(s) related to that 10 company codes only...

SELECT-OPTIONS and data collection

Hi All,
I have one inputfield (say users) via SELECT-OPTIONS and it goes to an internal table called "userlist" with values USER1, USER2 etc...(Example)
Now, when I query the database with "userlist" as the input, I'm not able to do so because SELECT-OPTIONS contains an Internal table with values LOW, HIGH etc...
So my input value goes like this IEQUSER1, IEQUSER2 etc......
Could anyone tell me what should I do in order to get USER1, USER2 etc.

User Interface - auto detect does not work

I have added the jQuery Mobile User Interface with Theme 50 to an old APEX 4.1 Application.
When adding the new User Interface i checked the "auto detect" feature in the old User Interface.
"Auto detect"- Help says:
Select whether the appropriate user interface should be automatically detected. If auto-detection is enabled, the user will be redirected to the corresponding login page or home page.
When calling the Application (only with the application-id) from my nexus 4 smartphone the application does not switch to the mobile Login page.
Do i have to change any old settings or themes?

You can run Incremental Sync from user profile 3-4 times. This will delete the user profile from SharePoint UPA.
Now, we need to run UPA clean job timer job available in Job Definition inside central administration.
This is a by design issue which you have raised. But, to get it done on the same day you need to follow above mentioned steps. This would be done in some hour and cannot be achieved in 4-5 minutes. So, your original request is a by design issue and can be

Retriving the vaue given in select options in an internal table.

I have a requirement of using & printing the multiple values of country given in Select -options by the user.
I have given the select -options statement as :
s_ctry FOR v_country obligatory. (for selection screen)
SO now i want to work on the values (input by user on screen) given either in the multiple selection tab(the arrow option that will come on screen) or in the range option(that too will come on screeen when i give the above statement)
I will be putting these screen values in a work area and then will append into an internal table like this: wa_country-country = s_ctry-low.
 APPEND wa_country TO it_country
How to retrive these values (values of s_ctry) so that i can work on them.

The basic form of the SELECT-OPTIONS statement is as follows:
SELECT-OPTIONS <seltab> FOR <f>.
It declares a selection criterion <seltab> that is linked to a field <f> that has already been declared locally in the program. The names of selection criteria are currently restricted to eight characters. Valid data types of <f> include all elementary ABAP types except data type F. You cannot use data type F, references and aggregate types. If you want to use the selection criterion to restrict database selections, it is a good idea to declare <f> with reference to a column of the corresponding database table. It then inherits all of the attributes of the data type already defined in the ABAP Dictionary. In particular, the field help (F1) and the possible entries help (F4) defined for these fields in the Dictionary are available to the user on the selection screen.
The selection table, which has the same name as the selection criterion, <seltab>, is usually filled by the user on the selection screen or by calling programs. You can also process the selection table like any other internal table in the program.

how can we add Selection Fields Options in Query Reports Which we create using SQ01. I need a default option by which we can add all the selection option given by user.

Do you have anything defined in the 'Calcs' section?
If so, any fields returned by the query that are not included in the calculation will be automatically added to the Group fields (using the same logic as required with calculations/group by in any SQL query). The fields won't be able to be removed from the Group list unless the Calc is also removed.

Select-Option F4 Help Multiple Selection

I have wriiten the code to provide custom F4 help for a field using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST' and then updating the values back to screen using Function Module DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE.
It is working fine when the F4 is used on the main screen, But when i click on the multiple selection button and press F4, i do get the F4 values list, but selected value is not getting passed back to the field.
I guess the issue is the field name changes in the multiple section option, Please suggest how can i fix it.

You have added the F4 to a select-option for areport and would like to get the F4 values back into the select-option, when the user selects multiple values?
If this is the case you have to fill the internal table behind the select-option and this will have to based on waht the user selected.
The first value will go on to the screen the way you have done it.

Parameter or select-option

hello all,
i have requierment in which i am confused.I have to declare a field in selection screen for user input. I have declared the field as parameter.But there is no multiple select option. And user ant to have multiple select option(.i.e interval range).
The problem is the field i have declared in parameter is type c.Like:: Enterprise(30) type c,
 divivsion(30) type c.
So this is not having any interval range.If i use select-option i can provide the range. SO plz help how can i define the parameter in select-option if its possible.
Most important thing is is there is no filed for refrence like: s_matnr for mara-matnr. as we can define in select-option.
Plz suggest some thing on this.

SELECT-OPTIONS : s_enterp FOR v_enterpr NO INTERVALS NO-EXTENSION ,
 s_divin FOR v_divin NO INTERVALS NO-EXTENSION .
2)If you want to have it as SELECT-OPTIONS.
Then
REPORT abc.
DATA : v_enterpr(30) TYPE c,
v_divin(30) TYPE c.
SELECT-OPTIONS : s_enterp FOR v_enterpr ,
 s_divin FOR v_divin .

Can any body tell me the best option for validating the select-option field in selection screen.
suppose i have a select option s_lifnr on selection screen.how i can validate that vendor.we have to validate the range or we have to check for at least single value..is valid..what is the best possible solution?

the best solution is to check if a single value is fetched from the db
at selection screen on so_lifnr
select single * from lfa1
where lifnr in so_lifnr.
if sy-subrc NE 0.
Message 'Invalid vendor' type 'E'.
endif.
The reason is simple imagine you give a range of 1 to 10 in so_lifnr, then there might be vendors only for 1, 3, 5 ,7. You dont want to give an error message in this case if there is no vendor 2,4, etc...
Also imagine that there are 10000 vendors and the range now has 1 to 10000, imagine the performance if you are to validate each value in the select option.
Last but not the leaset the user has a free option to use patterns (astericks ), signs ( E or I ) , options ( EQ, NE, GE, LE, GT, LT,BT etc ) in select options. So user may enters ABC and 'I in the sign. It would then be hard to code to find exactly all the possible entries the user wants, unless they are selected from db.
So as you can see there are a lot of possible inputs for a select option, the best approach is to validate a single value from database.
