Select which view to show in a popup window

Hi all,
in my WD4A application I have several popup windows. So I have created one window with one view for every such purpose (and call them via if_wd_window_manager->create_window).
My question: Is it possible to create one (generic) window, attach all possible views to it and select the view I want to load during call of the popup window (maybe via an inbound plug)?

what you can do is prepare window set one view as a default......now in wdoinit of window you fire a outbound plug (linked to inbound of different views) depending on your check it will navigate to desired view.. this is what we have done in EHP's also...where depending on switch state we navigate to old or new views..

I believe the issue is that you are not actually searching against the result source you made in step #1.
It's not enough to make a result source, you have to tell the search results web part to use it.
Try this:
1. Go to the Pages library of Search Center
2. Create a new Search Results page
3. Edit the page, then edit the search results web part
4. Change the source for the search results web part to your source
5. Add the page to your Search Center navigation
6. Run the search on that page

Menu and sub menus are showing in the popup window

Hi,
We have seach PG, summary and Detail PG.
When we clicked on summary page link, detail page is opening in popup window.
JavaScript is used for this and toolbar=no,menubar=no used .
Still menus are showing below Oracle Branding image.
How to hide these?

hello, what do you see instead? please note that at the moment firefox hello also won't work when you've set up the browser to run in permanent private browsing mode ("never remember history" in the options > privacy panel).

How to make mouseover effect text show image in popup window or tooltip?

I am trying to display a popup image in a new window when the mouse moves over some text. Or perhaps, the image could display in a tooltip when the mouse moves over some text.
However, I have achieved the functionality of an image appearing above the text when the mouse moves over some text. This is how I did this:
I put this code into the Page HTML Header:

1. how to get an image to display in a popup window or as a tooltip when the mouse is moved over some text?
2. where should the {div} content be placed in APEX, if not in the Title field?
Please note that I used '{' & '}' instead of '<' & '>' just so the div would display in this post.

How can I view form details in a popup window?

Recently, something called Babylon assist took control of Firefox and I was forced to reset Firefox to get rid of this. As a consequence, I lost the ability to right click on a page and select from a list that allowed me to view form details in a pop-up window. I used this feature frequently in developing database driven applications that have lots of forms. Can anyone please tell me how to restore this lovely feature? I found something that opens a new tab with the form information in a large format that is rather ugly - I really want to get back to the nice little pop-up that displayed the basic form information.

THANK YOU - your clues led me to the correct add-on. It's called 'Links and Forms' and says that it adds back the links and forms tabs that were in the Page Info window of Firefox 2. I have found it to be very handy in debugging forms that I've created.

Some sender names not showing in Mailbox view, but show in e-mail window

Some of the e-mails I receive instead of having the sender name appear in the From column in my inbox have their e-mail address appear instead. They are people who are in my Address Book with that e-mail address, and their name does appear in the From line in the e-mail itself.
Is there some setting I need to change so that their name appears in the From column instead of their e-mail address? Thanks!

I am seeing very similar behavior. For me, when I view the message in the list of all messages in the InBox window, for a few senders only the e-mail address is displayed. However, when I select that mail message, the person's name is properly displayed in the message viewing panel.
Have you been able to figure out what is going on?

Multicam view not showing up in project window

The sequence and all the source files are there, but the multicam window is just black. How do I fix this for easier multicam editing?
Left: as the source window and project file window shows, everything is there.
Right: It is all black where the multicam footage should be.

Then take that sequence in the project bn and right click on it
then choose New Sequence From Clip
that should give you your multicameras in the program monitor

Modal popup window refresh the parent (calling) window/view

I have a modal popup window that is adding detail records. When this window is closed via the Hide method in my controller I would like to refresh the parent (calling) window/view.
What is the best way to do this?

Here's my process.....
2-windows & 3 views
Window 1 - Selection View and Detail View
Window 2 - Add View (used as a modal popup window called by a button click on the detail view)
Selection View has all the options for obtaining a list of data for the detail view. The detail view has an Add button. Component controller has the hide method and access to the other components that do the update/query methods. On the detail view the user can click Add and a popup modal window shows. User enters data and clicks either the add or cancel button. The Detail view needs to refresh to show the additional data that has been added by the modal window. There are calcuated values in the detail view from a supply function. This function is not running and the values are not changed.
What should be put in the hide method that will cause the detail view to obtain new data and supply the calculated values? If I was using the Add view as part of the same window as the detail/selection views I'd just put in a navigation link between the detail and add views and fire the plug. I like the idea of the popup window so I'd like to get this to work.
I put the wdContext.initialize() in the hide method - which yes - caused the detail view to run - however the context lost all the key values so I received a data not found. I then tried to initialize those nodes that did not contain the key values but the detail view did not display new values.

How to dynamically choose which view to display in second step

Hi Guys,
I am just started to evaluate fpm to decide whether to use it in our project. So i have question that might be very simple to you all, that i hope you all can help me with.
Say i want to use the fpm GAF with a single webdynpro component. I have 3 steps, first step display a dropdown list for user to choose, second step will be a view that will depend on user input on the first step and 3rd step just a confirmation screen.
I plan to use UIBB for all the screen, not using the GUIBB. So i will need to dynamically decide which view to show on step 2, and since we don't call navigation plug when we use fpm, what is the best way to archive this? How do i design my webdynpro component and the fpm configuration etc...?
I read from the programming guide about initial screen and variant. But what if my application doesn't need an initial screen and the user choosing step is not at the first step, I can't use variant in this case right?

You can give the dropdown on initial screen and than u can decide which screen to show on the second (or infact that will we the first step you you have first step as a initial screen.
How?? :
1. Create different varients for the second step.
2. Basis on the Value choosen in the dropdown list, select the appropriate varient using the following code.
TRY.

            iv_variant_id = 'VAR_CLIENT'.

where VAR_CLIENT is your varient.

Refresh only page item while submitting data from the popup window

Hi All,
I'm pretty new to Apex .....
I have a form with text items as first few entries and then a radio button list and few text items again. On selecting certain radio button I have a popup window which acts as an interface for the next text item in the calling page. The purpose of having the popup window is that the text item following the radio button takes the input with certain character delimiters along with the data. Instead of using delimiters while entering the data I want a meaningful data to be keyed in the popup window and all the string operation to be done as a background process. I have been successful this far. I'm using the below javascript on click of the submit button.

On doing this I'm losing the values submitted for the items prior to the radio button(including radio button). Please note, I have a dynamic action set on page load to reset the values. Is it possible to refresh just the page item from the popup window.
Also, I tried excluding the window.opener.doSubmit('REFRESH'); from the above javascript. It sets the item with the expected value (viewed it in the session items, however I would like to view the concatenated string on my calling page) but following this there is an insert operation which uses all the necessary items in the form. All values except the value returned from the popup window is populated into the table. Am I missing something.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Value set using Javascript is only in your browser page but is not yet available in the session. This is why the report doesn't return the expected output.
Before refreshing the report you would need to set the session state of this item.
You can set it after you assign the item a new value or before the report is refreshed
For Interactive Reports, this is available built in
you can go to Report Attributes >Advanced Attributes -> Page Items to Submit and specify P2_X1 for the field(and any other page item that the report is dependent on)
For standard reports, you can create a Dynamic Action that is triggered "before refresh" of the report's region, and choose PLSQL as the action types, give a dummy BEGIN NULL END; for the code and specify this item name in the page item to submit field so that it sets the items's value in session.

XSLT Issue to open URL in new tab and PopUp Window through one custom style

Here is how to open a TitleWindow and initialize some values
in the newly opened TitleWindow.

In the newly opened window you have to have a method
setParentRef that accepts a window as an argument. Store the parm
as a variable in the window.
