Hi,
iam new to OAF ,Can any one please help me how to pass selected lov value as a parameter to the Concurrent program in oaf.
i created one lov in oaf page after selecting value in lov i want that value to be passed as parameter to concurrent program.
Please help me how to implemet code so that Lov will pass as parameter to the concurent program in Controller.

Calling Concurrent program from OAF-PDF Outtput not in English

Hi ,
I've successfully done "Calling Concurrent Program from OAF" once i clicked the button which i have in my page it generates RequestID and that shows request page,In that when i click "Output" icon the PDF file is opened.
But in that PDF file it shows the datas in the different language.
For example Emp name column is shown as

Current date parameter in concurrent program is not not taking current date

Hi All,
I have scheduled one concurrent request running very day @21:30 ,one of the parameter passed is current date ,which defined as default value at the time of defining concurrent program.Surprisingly its taking next day date as parameter.Can someone help me resolving this issue.
From where this current date is taken.
When I am logged in unix as oracle user and executing following query I am getting follwoing results
SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS';
Session altered.
SQL> select current_date from dual;
CURRENT_DATE
05/25/2010 07:40:11
SQL> select sysdate from dual;
SYSDATE
05/25/2010 07:40:20
date
Tue May 25 07:40:35 SAUST 2010
When I logged in unix as applmgr user:
SQL> select current_date from dual;
CURRENT_DATE
05/25/2010 04:41:17
SQL> select sysdate from dual;
SYSDATE
05/25/2010 07:41:19
date
Tue May 25 07:41:04 SAUST 2010
Unix level date is correct and sysdate is also correct in both cases.
But current_date when logged in s applmgr user is wrong,is this reason for the issue.
If so how can I change it
Version : 11.5.10.2
Database : 10.2.0.4
OS : AIX 5.3

Getting error while selecting LOV value

Hi all,
I am getting the below error in R12 apps while selecting the lov value from list (But it is working properly in 11i apps and loacal jdeveloper.)
Error: Stale Data
The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
Cause:
The view object ProjectInformationAM.EmployeeLOVVO1 contained no record. The displayed records may have been deleted, or the current record for the view object may not have been properly initialized.
To proceed, please select the Home link at the top of the application page to return to the main menu. Then, access this page again using the application's navigation controls (menu, links, and so on) instead of using the browser's navigation controls like Back and Forward.
The lov query is select employee_number,full_name from per_all_people_f
I have tried both internal and external lov but both cases it is showing the error in R12
I have used below code in PR of create page, still no use

Hi,
I had a similar issue just now, and we fixed it in this way. But the case is probably different compared to your situation.
Situation:
- custom inquiry page
- case: manual search, so not results based or Auto Customization Criteria
- multiple search criteria fields
- separate AM for all the LOV fields
- each LOV has its own VO
- Results table on same page, but with its own VO
- each search criteria field has Lov mapping to the corresponding external Lov region
Issue: when selecting a value via the Lov and coming back into the search page, I received the stale data error.
searched lots of places and finally figured out what was wrong in my case.
Each search field had its BC4J properties set to the VO of the results table. And since we wanted to make a manual search thing, this is not good.
Removing the View Instance value and the View Attribute value in the properties of the search fields resolved the error.
Hoperfully this can help other beginners, like me, in finding a solution for the same mistakes... :)

I have called concurrent request from OAf page..When i click the submit button the page forwarded to Request page..
In that i have three buttons only Submit Request,search,Refresh but i need, What are all the options present in Requests > Submit window (not from OAF)"Hold Request,Cancel Request,Diagnostics,View Log"..
Also in my OAF Page if i click Submit Request-->Radio Button "New Request"--> if i clock LOV it doesn't shows any values...
Kindly help me to resolve this issue..

Hi Anil,
I got the same requirment. The requirement was we need to create a Print PO button on the OAF page and when we click the button, we need to display the PO in pdf format by calling a concurrent program(XML) based on the PO type.
My approach was below.
1. Create the button using Personilization.
2. Extend the controller class and add the code to call the concurent request.
Can you please guide me how to create the button using personilization. When I created the button, this was shown on the OAF page. But I don't get the hand symbol on that button to click that button.
Also please give me the approach of extending the controller and AM.

As mentioned, the Concurrent progrm APIs are just wrappers and the datatypes are limited. Now, how many items you expect to have in the array as a maximum? You could use the same wrapper concept to collect the array values individually (up to 100) and then just load them to an array to be passed to your stored procedure. Just have an overloaded version with values1..valuesn that is only used as the entry point and then load the values to the structure needed by the program unit containing your logic. There is a limit of 100 parameters, though.

Update report based on selected LOV value

I've searched the forum but could not find the answer how to implement the following:
I have a form with a popup LOV, element P203_LOCATION_ID, which is populated from a query. When the user picks a value from it, a report in the same page should be refreshed. The report has query "select * from distances where d < 1 AND l = :P203_LOCATION_ID " .
I created a dynamic action which would refresh the report on change of P203_LOCATION_ID , but the report does not change.
After looking here, I made a hidden variable P203_SEL_LOCATION which is populated by dynamic action on change, with javascript $v('P203_LOCATION_ID') , and then a second rule in the dynamic action should refresh the report. The query in the report is changed to use :P203_SEL_LOCATION as a parameter.
Although, when made display-only, P203_SEL_LOCATION does change (and console.log shows the selected ID), the report does not see that change and remains empty. I tried both IR and classic report, same result.
Any help would be appreciated, how to make change in Items visible to the report?

Hi Mila,
I assume that you have checked that the report refresh process is happening and that by "empty" you meant that the report was not fetching any records whereas it should have for the value you see in the page.
It could be because the changed values is not is not yet set in the session for the report to see(report fetches the bind value of the item P203_SEL_LOCATION from the session).
You will need to add the item's value to the session before firing the report refresh.
One way to do that would be to add a PLSQL process as true action with the sequence order lesser than the refresh.
In the items to submit_ , give P203_SEL_LOCATION
And the process needn't do anything(what we wanted was the P203_SEL_LOCATION be set, which would be done before executing this PLSQL)

Selected LOV value not reflected in Main page

Hi
Whenever I select an LOV and query for the values ,the values are displayed and when I select one of the values and click on "SELECT" button on LOV page the selected value is not reflected in Main page.
Even if I enter an appropriate value in the LOV field and click on "NEXT" button in Main Page the value is not recognised and an error is thrown saying that the field can not be blank.
Please help me.

We need to put in a message just below Parameters/Prompts saying that "Kindly fill in the above parameters and then Click on Apply to run the report" so that end users know what to do.
Any ideas how to do that.
As of now i have inserted a Text Item in Report Layout, but that doesnt look good.

Get the value in controller, create a hash map and put that value in hashmap.
Then pass that hashmap in pageContext.forwardImmediately method.
If you want to use that value in multiple pages, then put that in session variable.

How to create multiple rows in a child table from the multi select Lov

We have Departments and EmployDept and Persons tables and each employee can associate multiple departments and vice versa.While creating a Department page there should be a Multi Select LOV(values from Persons table) with search option for the Persons.From the search panel we can select multiple persons for that department.Suppose we have selected 5 persons and click on submit, then it should create 5 rows in the EmployDept table for 5 persons with that department id.
Any inputs on how to implement this scenario please..

How to notify user about concurrent Program Status from BPEL

Hi,
I'm calling Concurrent Program in Oracle Apps Adapter from BPEL 11g . I have to pass the mail id as one of the input parameters to concurrent program. I have to notify the status of the concurrent program to that mail id it is Success or failure in the EBS itself. Is there any jca file properties for this?
