Selecting active plot

Hello,
I am reading a number of data file with a while loop and plotting them to a XY graph. I would like to make the graph legend based on the index value. I cannot seem to access the active plot and label it. (Error= Selected invalid property node). Can anyone point out what the error is? Thank you.

"Active Plot" cannot be higher than the number of plots you actually have. You do a +1 twice for ActPlot, thus the first plot you select is #2 while you don't even have a plot yet. Also make sure the property node happens after data reached the x-y graph terminal.
--wire ActPlot directly to [i], the iteration terminal. The first plot is #0!
--add a +1 to [i] before wiring it to LegPlots (input there cannot be zero). If there is only plot zero, you want one legend visible, etc. right?
-- Leave "autosize legend" out, because it does not change. Either set it manually or set it with a property node once before entering the while loop.
-- The first ActPlot (read mode) is useless. Remove it.
See if this helps.
It is probably more efficient to attach th
e actual VI compared to a 1.3MB bitmap. ;-)

  • Selection of active plot

    Hello
I am programming, an program, with an graf i Labview 6i. Is there some build
in way to let the user choose the active plot in an graf? I find it a litle
difficult to do the programming myself, just to create the

allign them with the plot legend is difficult.

Use the "Active Plot" Property node - see the attached example.

  • Programmatically formatting the active plot and plot legend

I am monitoring 6 production sequences on an XY graph. A ring control selects which sequence I show on the graph. For each sequence I have tag data showing the "actuals" and tag data showing the "averages" and a boolean toggle switch controls which of these plots I show on the graph. I am having trouble controlling the formatting of the plots (both actuals and averages are currently shown in white) and the plot legend is wrong. I have tried programming my vi to format my plots using a property node from the XY graph and writing to the correct plot inputs, however it doesn’t seem to be working. I would also like the plot legend to show ONLY the active plot on the XY graph.
I would like a red continuous line for the averages and blue square scatter points for my actuals. I can’t seem to get this at all. I have attached my vi if anyone can help?
Many thanks for taking the time to help,
    Best regards,
    Stuart

  • Can i select which plots show in graph?

Hey guys, I want to know
if I have a graph and I have like 8 plots
can I select which plot show like, in some cases I want to see only 2 plots, in other case I want to see 1 plot only, and other time I want to see all the plots, can I select or make something to make it happens?
    Thanks

    Hello Gerd,
I found another way than coloring the plot transparent (btw. with better performance for huge data graphs). It has another advance since the graph remembers the original color.

  • How to select active Oracle ODBC Driver programmatically?

    Hi,
My application creates ODBC DSN to connect with Oracle 10g database server. I need to find out Oracle Driver installed on the system programmatically. I am trying to read KEY_<PRODUCT NUMBER> registry key and eventually searching ORACLE_HOME value. This helps me in searching Oracle Driver in ODBCINST.INI registry key. (Oracle in OraDb10g_home1)
If multiple Oracle clients are installed on the same system, multiple KEY_<PRODUCT NUMBER> registry keys and oracle drivers would be available. I am not sure which and how to select the current active oracle driver.
    Oracle in OraDb10g_home1
    Oracle in OraDb10g_home2
Can anybody help me out? Can I use inventory file (inventory.xml) to determince current active home directory? Reading PATH environment variable to identity active home directory would be tedious.

Please look at following thread for answer.

  • One press button selection/activation?

Just wondering if it's possible for a button to be selected/activated at the same time. In other words if you have a menu with three buttons and you press the left directional key on the remote, it will navigate to then activate the button taking you to the target clip without the need to press the enter key. Hopefully this can be done without scripting, but either way any help will be appritiated.
    Thanks

Yes, this is possible - what you do is set the button to 'auto-activate' in the property inspector. When you navigate to the button it will send you straight on to the target without any further intervention on your part.

  • Error when selecting Activity Guide item from BPM Workspace

    Hi,
I've installed 11.1.1.6 SOA/BPM onto my local machine.
I've deployed an Activity Guide example. This loads fine when i create an instance, the GUI loads and i can see the process progress on the left hand side.
I have created my own test app and deployed it. I can see an instance in the Activity Guide List; however when selecting it the GUI doesn't load and i get an ADF error thrown.
I can view the task from the Task List and open the GUI just fine. It only seems to be when selecting it from the Activity Guide List that i experience the problem.
The error i can see in the logs is this:

I've had the same issue with activity guides in 11.1.1.6 the last couple of days and thought I had been doing something wrong. Wish I'd seen your post sooner.
    Guessing it's a bug - know there's a patch set out - perhaps it's fixed in that.

  • Selected/activated button overlay in Buttons over Video

I have six different buttons over video, with one overlay.
The buttons are assigned to each of six audio tracks.
When I select and activate a button the overlay goes from white to red, and the audio changes to the specified audio track. So far, so good. But, when I want to select another button, the red overlay disappears, and I see the selected buttons white overlay. This is of course "default", but I'd like the red overlay to stay, indicating that I'm still listening to that audio track, even if I'm choosing between another button.
Can this be done somehow? I'm thinking that perhaps I can add a subtitle that tells me what Track I have selected, but the overlay is already a subtitle...
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Only one button can be "selected" at a time, meaning when people scroll through the selections on the menu there is an indication of where they are/what they are about to press when they hit enter.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4573106&#4573106, take a look at the last post for a way to try to get the effect sort of happening
Same general concept applies to buttons over video. Only one state active at a time, and subtitles will not work since the buttons are a subtitle stream (of course you can use add text in the overlay for the buttons) Page 460 of the PDF

  • How can I programmatically remove a selection of plots from a waveform graph?

I have a waveform graph to display a number of plots, which I need to programmatically add and delete to as selections of data are chosen by the user for display.
I've looked under the VI Server Property node and cannot see anything suitable for adding extra plots, or removing existing plots. I expected to see a Plot Data array variable, with each element containing the data for each of the plots on the graph. There is such an array for the annotations, which I can easily edit by Removing Subset for Array, or Insert into Array, but nothing for the plot data. The Value property is a Variant, which I'm unsure how to handle. Should I be working with this perhaps? Can this be done by creating a Local Variable read node? Or am I missing something simple here??
Thoric (CLA, CLED, CTD and LabVIEW Champion)

    Hi Mike,
I was trying to use the Property Node (Value) to read the waveform graph, but I was getting a Variant type back, not a 2D array of DBLs as I expected. Turns out I was passing the graph control reference to a subvi whose control refnum had the Include Type flag unchecked. As a result of this explicit definition, Value was of an uncertain (undefined) type and couldn't be natively provided. It would have had to have been cast into a more specific type to work. Have solved the problem by ensuring all my references are of a strict type, and now (as you recommend) the Property Node (Value) is useful
    Many thanks for the response!
And many thanks for the demo too! You put that together remarkably quickly!

  • Selecting Active and Inactive Employees from IT0000

    Hi,
How do I select Employees from InfoType 0000 based on Employment Status field. I need an optimised way to select the same as the field P0000-STAT2 is not indexed
Select directly from PA0000 based on STAT2 field would be my last resort
    Thanks and Regards,
    Aditya

    Hi Frank,
If I use the logical database PNP or PNCPE, it would also bring in the selection screen which I do not want.
I am writing an upload program which will read all Active and Inactive employees and then update InfoType 0758 for them
I could use function module LDB_PROCESS to avoid the selection screen in the logical database
However, Is there any other approach that you know through some function module....??
    Thanks and Regards,

I went to the graph and made plot legend visible and extended it from one plot to 3. That's all I did. Now it appears to be working properly. It's been a long while since I had to get really fancy with a graph but I don't remember having to do this. My memories of  graph properties were that they were a little more dynamic.
