Selecting all hierarchy nodes in the report

Hi Friends,
In my report I have a Hierarchy 0ORGUNIT, there are a few sub nodes under this hierarchy.
When the user runs the report if they want to see all the nodes under a top node, they have to expand each node till the last node and select them one by one.
My question is, is it possible to select all the sub nodes under a node just by selecting the top node?.
If yes can someone please let me know how to do this?.
I did check the sdn, but could get anything.

Hi,
You can do that for the initial display i.e. the very first time you execute the query but once you collapse all the nodes you will not be able to expand all the nodes with one click.
For showing different levels in the first display go to the characteristic properties on which you have hierarchy maintained, in the hierarchy properties section set the option 'Expand to Level' and hierarchy will be expaned for all the nodes till the level you select.

Select key date of time-dependent hierarchy before select a hierarchy node

Hello experts!
I have a Web Application which has a selection on 0ORGUNIT (organizational unit). The selection is on hierarchy nodes and the hierarchy is time-dependent.
Because of the time-dependency I have to give a key date for the hierarchy. But I want to select the key date at runtime/execution of the query and additionally I want to select the hierarchy node and other selection criterias.
Maybe there is a solution to get all this in one pop-up or maybe in two or another solution how I can implement this requirement.

Hey!
You don't have to use the same presentation-hierarchy like the selection-hierarchy is which you use for the variable. While presentation-hierarchy always has a key-date, the selection-hierarchy has none. So you see all values for selection but just this which are valid for the presentation-hierarchy are selected. And there is a warning which you can supress over RSRT.
This solution works for our problem, maybe not for yours, don't know.

Cannot Include and exclude selectiion on hierarchy node in the Filter area

Hi,
When i open the query and execute it. and select the filter area for hierarchy nodes. The include and exclude selection is disabled in 3.5x analyzer. We are using BI 7.0 with SP 12. we just upgraded.
Can you please help. is this functionality not available?

Hi Rob, you can do that for the query (the exclude selection) on the Query Designer. But its not recomended on performance point of view.

How to select all single values in the header area

Dear Experts
I got a request that the user wants to select a single value or all single values in the header area. E.g. if the values from characteristic master data are A, B, C and D, the selection can be one of these values or all of them. With the standard BPS configuration, due to the unique combination in the header area, selection of 'All' single values is not possible. Is there a way to select all single values in the header area?

Hi Jessica,
Here is a solution where you need not to change your planning layout or to create a new variable or any exit function.
Step 1 - Maintain master data value 'ALL' in the required characteristic.
Step 2 - Create a copy function to copy all the required data records to 'ALL'. you can use standard copy function where you have to include only this characteristic in the fields to be change.
Copy -
From = all values (A,B,C,D etc)
To = "ALL".
Step 3 - Call this function on layout opening. you can include it in the planning folder and change the function attribute to call it on layout opening.
Step 4 - Create a standard Delete function. you have to call this function on save operation. In this function, you have to delete all data records present in the buffer where required char contains 'ALL' value.
This approach can impact the performance of the planning application. It depends on the number of data records you are dealing with. Standard Copy and Delete functions are pretty fast in nature.

Please solve Radio buttons (when selected) will then display on the report

Each of these new Radio buttons (when selected) will then display on the report in the same locations, which is after the existing columns.
Check boxes are by default checked.
When the 1st radio button is selected then a new column will be displayed in the ALV output
Next to A.
Like wise when 2nd radio button selected then a new column will be displayed in the ALV output next to B.
Like wise the ALV output is displayed.
A   is a checkbox
B is a checkbox
C   is a checkbox
D   is a checkbox
1   is a radio button
2   is a radio button
3 is a radio button
4   is a radio button

while populating fieldcatalog itself u include these condition....
if Pradiobutton = 'X'.

Selecting all consecutive paragraphs of the same style in GREP?

Hello,
Is there anyway to select all consecutive paragraphs of the same style using GREP and append something after it?
My problem is that I need to add a tag to the start and end of all footnote sections, they are not embedded in InDesign, but rather they are simply listed after every section. I've managed to add the tag to the start of every footnote section but how can I use GREP to select all of the footnotes and add the tag after it?
I have tried (among others)
(.+)
but it only finds each footnote one at a time, rather than the whole section's worth of them.
Leaving the Find field blank and just using Find Format will find the whole section but I can't find anyway to append the tag. I tried
$0\rTAG
but it seems to cut a lot of the footnotes out randomly?
There must be a way to do this?

It's possible to have a GREP span multiple paragraphs (use the flag (?s) for this), but I think it would have the same result as your 2nd try, just supplying the paragraph style name. Since that fails, I suspect it's just too much text to fit in '$0'.
How about circumventing the problem in its entirety? Put your paragraph style name in the Find Formatting field, then search for
\r(?!.)
-- this will find the very last hard return in that style "followed by nothing". You can replace it with
\rTAG\r
-- it needs a return right after 'TAG' because otherwise this will be pasted in front of the next (unrelated) paragraph.

Enabling the set/hierarchy node option in Report painter

In Report painter how to enable the option to check the set/hierarchy node option in general data selection. it always displayes in disabled mode.

Hierarchy Node display in report designer

Urgent please help me out.
I have an issue with report designer. I created a static report in Query designer with 2 structures. When i try to include this query in Report designer, only the last level nodes are getting into the Report designer. All the above level nodes are not featuring in Report designer.
Please help me how to make these top nodes visible in Report Designer.

Select All problems on an updateable report

Greetings. I have a problem with the Updateable Report functionality in Apex version 3.0.1.00.07. I'd love to demonstrate the problem, but my account at apex.oracle.com is version 3.2.0.00.27, and apparently, the Updateable Report functionality has been removed from that version. Does anyone know if there's a way to create an Oracle account using older versions?
My problems, in brief, are that when you have more than one updateable report region on the same page, clicking Select All on either table selects all rows of both tables; and that if both tables have only one row, clicking on Select all does nothing.

Hi,
Firstly, you can still create Updatable reports in the latest version of Apex. Create a Report using the SQL Wizard and, when the report region has been created, change the report type.
Secondly, the checkboxes for both reports are being ticked/unticked together as the javascript being run assumes that there is only one updatable report on the page and, therefore, only one set of "f01" checkboxes. You can get around this by overriding the javascript by adding your own version.
Create a new region in the Before Footer region of the page and using No Template (so that the region is hidden) and use the following as the source:

One thing though... What happens when the user submits the page? Both reports will have "f01" checkboxes with values starting from 1 and only those that are ticked are submitted with the page. Thus, a checkbox with a value of 1 could refer to either report.

I created a form in Forms 6i in which the user enters a couple
of parameters .Then I'm calling a report created in 6i with
RUN_PRODUCT option.I'm using the values entered the FORM
as parameters for the report and I'm able to run the report.
How ever I have to show those parameters which are
being passed from FORM to REPORT in the header section of the
report so that user can see the selections he/she has made.
Say if I have 2 elements in the form
DEPT NO and COMMISSION when I call the report from the form
I want to see those in the Header Section of the report.
If no selections are made in FORM then
I want to see something like this.
DEPT NO : ALL COMMISSION :ALL

Export txt file with all parameter values during the report execution

I've developed one report in Report Builder 3.0 , report server being SRSS 2008 R2. This report has one report parameter named id_product. There are two data sets available. One data set is for populating the report table. In the second
data set I'm trying to export the id_product. The below query works fine only for single valued parameter id_product, this query being used in the second data set Report pops-up an error when trying to run the report for multiple products at the same
time. I looked in SQL Profiler and it seems like inserting the parameter values in the global temporary table is not possible using the current code.
I'm aware of the VB Expression named Join but in such case I'm not sure if I can use it. It would be great if I can use this kind of expression. This way I would not create the data set anymore.
Current query:

Just as you thought, we can use join function to insert the values from a multiple value parameter to a temp table with VB Expression. After testing it in my own environment, we can refer to the following steps:
Create the second dataset using the query below:
drop table ##SelectedValues
create table ##SelectedValues(id_product nvarchar(max))
insert into ##SelectedValues(‘1’)
exec xp_cmdshell 'bcp "select ''id_product''
union all select * from ##SelectedValues" queryout "G:\Report\sqloutput.csv" -c -T -t'
Change the dataset using the expression like below:

Possiblity to expand / narrow / reset all drillstroughable parts of the report with one button

Hi,
has anyone done that bevore? Is this possible ..
I have parts of a big Report, that are expanded (where i can see all detaildata) and parts where the detaildata is there, but arent showed by Standard (are narrowed).
I wish i could have a button, where i can expand / narrow all expandable/narrowable parts of the reports from 1 button.
Why?
1) To print the Report i could press "Expand all" and then print, so i get all the detials of the Report.
2) for a better first look i could Show all expandable reportparts narrowed. Then click expand all to see all Details.
and maybe to reset all expandable parts to the Default (Settings when loaded) there could be a reset button to.
Any Chance?

Per my understanding that you want to add an button in the report to control the Expand All and Collapse All of the drill down report, right?
I have tested on my local environment and we can do this by creating an parameter to control the show/hide of the details, We can add two radio button image (Radio on, Radio Off)and add the "Go to Report"action on the image which
display most similar to the button and will display the result of Expand All and Collapse All once you click on the radio button.
