Selecting the content of XML element CS3(JS)

Hi
I am trying to select the whole content of XML Element.
I am trying like this
app.activeDocument.xmlElements[i].select();
But it is not working.

A few hints:
Perhaps your variable
i i
is not defined. If that's the case, give up trying to write code for this complicated job! XML is not the easiest part of ID to begin with. Starting with uninitialized variables and flagging that as an error (and complaining about that in a forum) is a beginners' blunder.
If I run your script line with i set to 0, the first element of my XML structure is selected. I can see with my own eyes it works, because I have the XML Structure pane in ID open. If I click on the 2nd element there and run your script line, the top (= 0th) element is selected. Perhaps you didn't open the XML Structure view so you did not see it worked after all. Or perhaps you expected something
i else
to be selected -- the text content, maybe -- so you tag it as "error". That's a misinterpretation of what the XmlElement object is. Understandable, but still not an error. You can have lots of XmlElements without any text or other object associated. If it was your intention to select whatever the xml element contains, try working with the property 'xmlContent'. From its description I gather that sort-of does this alternative interpretation, i.e., you can select the
i text
which is pointed to by the element. Untried. But do read on.
If I run your script with i = 1, I

get an error, and it's perfectly valid too! "Object is invalid" -- well, of course it is. There is no other XML element at that level. An app.document.xmlelements entry always points to the
i root
of the XML, and you can only have one. Perhaps you expected #1 to be the next sub-element. Well, not so in the ID implementation -- as usual for almost all XML based structures, it's a tree. The "next" element is xmlElements[0].xmlElements[0], which you can check by changing your line to
>app.activeDocument.xmlElements[0].xmlElements[0].select();
and verifying the 2nd element from the top is selected in the XML Structure view.

All,
I created an rtf report for one of my EBS reports. Now I want to email this report to several people. Using Tim's blog I implemented the email part. I am sending emails to myself based on the USERID logic.
However I want to email to different people other then me. My email addresses are in the XML file.
From the java program which sends the email, how can I read the fields from XML file. If any one has done this, Please point me to the right examples.
Please let me know if there are any exmaples/BLOG's which explain how to do this(basically read the contents of XML file in the Java program).

How can we get the reference of XML element on frame as soon as frame is created in Document?

Hi,
When ever we copy any text/table cells from any frame, and paste it directly on page, A new Frame is created and the pasted text is placed inside that frame.
Now to capture this frame creation, We have two possible solutions:
1) Attach Observer on Document 'kDocBoss' on IID_IHIERARCHY_DOCUMENT and it will notify on frame creation in update function.
2) Notification event on new story creation.
Now, I need to perform some changes in the newly created table, for example:
a) Need to delete XML tags from newly created frame
b) Need to perform action on table cells if any in the created frame.
But the problem is, when the event comes, I can access basic properties of frame like it's name, type etc, but it does not give me the
XML element on frame or tables in frame until the event is com pleat.
I know it's quite a specif requirement, but I guess many of you might have faced these kind of challenges, while processing the event.
Does any one has any idea how I can get the reference of XML element on frame as soon as it is created?

Anyway, I'd keep the story creation responder to recognize the copy, then combine it with an observer on the backing xml story to catch the associated XML element which is created there. Something like below:

Cannot view the content of XML document.

Hi experts,
i have saved edit form (SAP Demo News) in document folder (KM Content > document). To view the content, I click the XML document then the content is display as design in ShowForm.
My problem is i save the edit form (SAP Demo News) in my own folder (KM Content > MyFolder), then when I click the XML document the content is NOT display as design in ShowForm. But its display as XML coding.
How to make the content of XML document NOT view as XML coding?

Hi faeza ,
by default XML Forms can only be used in the repositories documents and userhome.
If you want to use XML-Forms in your own repository like "MyFolder" than the behaviour is like you have described.
So you have to adjust the KM settings for using XML-Forms as well in the repository "MyFolder".
Goto
System Administration ->
System Configuration ->
Knowledge Management ->
Content Management ->
Configuration
-> Content Management
-> Repository Filters
-> XML Forms Repository Filter
Choose the XML Forms Repository Filter entry "xmlforms_filter" and choose Edit.
Add as "Repositories:" your repository "MyFolder".
Save it and restart the whole portal.

How can I select the minimum size of Elements 10? It won't install due to lack of disk space on C:

I have just purchased and downloaded Elements 10. Can't install it due to insufficient disk space on my C drive. I have enough space on my D drive, but it will not install there, probably because my sustem files are on C drive. The Install wisard does not provide for a selection of the size of Elements 10. Is there a way to select the minimum size? If so, how can I do this?

There is not an option to customize the installation. The system requirements for Photoshop Elements 10 request that you at least have 4 gigabytes free, plus more for installation, how much free space do you have on your C drive?

Selecting specific instance of XML element for binding

I am trying to create a form that will display ratesheets used to show mortgage rates. We have an XML schema defined that has multiple rates for multiple products. The rates change continuously. I want to create a static PDF by combining a form and an XML input.
In the PDF, I always want the rates for a given product in the same location. For instance, 30 year fixed on page 1, upper left, 5/1 arm on page 2, upper right, etc. Each of these products has a predefined static product code.
The ratesheet schema has the following definition for the product element:
So, how can I specify that a subform bind to where prod_cd=02, or 21, whatever?

No, I don't want different fields on different pages. I want column 1 to show rlock15, rlock30, rlock60 where prod_cd=02. In column 2, I want to show rlock15, rlock30, rlock60 where prod_cd=21 So, I want the same field ($record.ratesheetline.rlock30), but different instances. So, I need to be able to create a subform that selects something like $record.ratesheetline.code='02', and then display the above fields for that specified instance.

Selecting the contents of a table(collection) into a strong REF Cursor

I'm trying to roll some data into a table collection and return it as a strong named cursor.
I have not been able to do this successfully yet.
I have tried casting the table and I couldn't get that to work either.
I have included the whole procedure but here is the line I am getting errors on:

Any help on this would be great.
P.S. - As this is being picked up by BizTalk I can't return a table.

First important thing : give your database version (SELECT * FROM v$version).
Please also provide some sample data :
- a typical XML document you're working with (or abridged version)
- explain what change(s) you want to do, or give expected output
- if you're using a table to store the XML (which is preferred), give the DDL

Following are the steps:

But when I try to do so,I get some list of exceptions.

So for page1 I want HEADER1 and from page2 onwards,I require different header HEADR2.
By using your approach,my text which needs to be continued on different pages will not be acheived.
One more thing I got from XMLP User guide:

SInce all my tags are generated from Oracel reports,I am unable to use the above xml line.Is there any way to use this by modifying the syntax..

You may want to look again, specifically section 20.11 Moving Oracle Enterprise Content Management to a Production System, Task 4.
The same basic steps would apply to 10g, minus the WebLogic parts. (Also note that prior to 11g, what you are attempting is really a non-supported configuration. In 11g, Oracle at least gives this set of supported pointers.)

How to find associated text frame with XML element?

Hello experts, I am new to InDesign CS SDK and have a question.
I am building an Extension to import an XML document into an InDesign template. As the content in XML can be unpredictable, in the Extension, I want to loop through all the XML elements and make sure it has associated text frames, and if it doesn't, I want to create a text frame and set the content to the text frame.
I think I figured out how to create a new text frame in page and set the content in the frame, but I am having difficulty finding an associated text frame for an XML element.
If anyone has a sample code finding a text frame for an XML element, I appriciate it. Or if anyone can tell me what document I need to look, it will be great too.

I am trying to play my ipod shuffle 1st gen in itunes but it will not play. My windows 7 computer recognizes the ipod and I can easily select the songs on my ipod playlist in itunes but cannot play them. Any solutions to the problem?

I get the feeling some has asked a question "like" this but not exactly that question which makes it really hard for find answers fast to the above question. Therefore, I decided to ask it anyway. Hopefully someone has a good solution that will work.
Background on the question:
- I had to erase and reupload song on my ipod 1st gen to my new computer. Apparently the ipod could not be read by the iTunes in my new computer because the playlist cannot be opened in more than one iTunes or in another computer or something like that (this makes no sense). All this was to try and charge my ipod that does not seem to want to charge. It connects perfectly to the computer and I can see the initial blinking yellow lights on the back and front, but won't charge. I am currently working on this problem from other community discussion topics.

Sync works the same way it always has, connect the device, select the content desired to sync and sync.
All the media should be in iTunes already, iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
If this is a new computer, move the content from the old computer to the new computer.
